Notes:
Conclusions 1. During belt grinding the maximum contact temperatures are half those that occur during grinding with abrasive wheels. 2. With increasing temperatures in the grinding zone there are substantial changes in the phase composition of the surface layer, which can be used to determine the quality of the surface layer. 3. It is recommended that the maximum temperature in the grinding zone not exceed 200–300° during belt grinding of carburized parts of steel 12Kh2N4A.
