Es wurde die Kinetik der mit Benzoylperoxyd initiierten Polymerisationen von n-Butylmethacrylat und Isobutylmethacrylat in Benzollösung untersucht. In beiden Fällen sind die Polymerisationsgeschwindigkeiten bedeutend kleiner als bei den Polymerisationen in Substanz, was auf den Abfall der Monomerenkonzentration [M] zurückgeführt werden kann. Die Reaktionsordnung in bezug auf [M] ist bei beiden untersuchten Systemen annähernd 1.

Kinetics of the polymerization of n-butyl methacrylate and isobutyl methacrylate initiated by benzoyl peroxide in benzene solution were investigated. In both systems the rates of polymerization were found to be much less compared to bulk polymerization, that can be attributed to decrease in concentration of the monomer. The order of reaction with respect to monomer concentration was found to be nearly unity with both systems studied.The chain transfer constants with benzene (CS) have been determined.
