The influence of the diameter of the molecular coil on the lamellar long-period and on the formation of tie-molecules is discussed for fractions of high and low density polyethylenes of different molecular weights. Characteristic changes of the long-period correlate with changes of the tensile strength and elongation. From the dependence of these parameters on the coil diameter, the possibility of the formation of tie-molecules is derived.

Für teilkristalline Polymere wird am Beispiel von Fraktionen aus Polyethylenen niederer und hoher Dichte der Einfluß des Knäueldurchmessers auf die Langperiode und die Bildung von “tie”-Molekülen diskutiert. Charakteristische Änderungen der Langperiode korrelieren mit starken Änderungen der Zugfestigkeit bzw. -dehnung. Bei der Darstellung dieser Strukturparameter als Funktion des Knäuelradius ergeben sich interessante Hinweise auf die Bildungswahrscheinlichkeit von “tie”-Molekülen.
