    Description: Fritz Bauer ist als der Staatsanwalt in die Geschichte der Bundesrepublik eingegangen, der den Auschwitz- Prozess initiiert und in einer Vielzahl weiterer Fälle die Verfolgung von NS-Verbrechen in die Wege geleitet hat. In Büchern, Aufsätzen, Zeitungsartikeln, Interviews und Reden in Hörfunk und Fernsehen reflektierte er die gesellschaftliche und politische Lage der Bundesrepublik in der Nachkriegszeit. Daneben formulierte er ein kriminalpolitisches Programm, in dem er Ziel und Zweck des Strafrechts grundlegend infrage stellte. Bauer hat in diesen Schriften oft Positionen bezogen, die für seine Zeit ungewöhnlich waren; zugleich zeigen sie, wie eng er dem Denken seiner Zeit verbunden war. Sie gewähren Einsicht in Diskussionen der frühen Bundesrepublik und führen eindrucksvoll vor Augen, wie sich Bauer als Jurist, Remigrant, jüdischer Intellektueller und Sozialdemokrat einmischte und Gehör verschaffte. So eröffnen seine »Kleinen Schriften« aus heute meist unzugänglichen Zeitungen und Zeitschriften, den Blick auf die Brüche in Bauers Biografie, auf Exil und Remigration als Schlüsselerfahrungen. Fritz Bauer (1903–1968) war eine der bedeutendsten Persönlichkeiten im Kampf für die juristische Ahndung der NS-Verbrechen in den 1950er- und 1960er-Jahren in der Bundesrepublik. Von den Nationalsozialisten ins Exil getrieben, kehrte Bauer 1949 nach West-Deutschland zurück und setzte sich als hessischer Generalstaatsanwalt für die Demokratisierung des Landes ein. Kaum etwas weiß man von seinem ungewöhnlichen Werdegang. Aus einer assimilierten jüdischen Danziger Kaufmannsfamilie stammend, war er als junger Mann als Journalist und Zeitungsunternehmer in Berlin erfolgreich.     Description: A comprehensive proposal for reforming copyright law to ensure sustainable public access to research and scholarship. Open access is widely supported by researchers, librarians, scholarly societies, and research funders, as well as large and small publishers. Yet despite this support—and the pandemic's demonstration of the importance of open access for scientific progress—the scholarly publishing market is failing to deliver open access quickly enough. In Copyright's Broken Promise, John Willinsky presents the case for reforming copyright law so that it supports, rather than impedes, public access to research and scholarship. He draws on the legal strategy of statutory licensing to set out the terms and structures by which the Copyright Act could ensure that publishers are fairly compensated for providing immediate open access. What sets Willinsky's analysis apart is its focus on the current state of scholarly publishing. Because copyright offers so little legal support for moving publishing to open access despite the benefit for science, he says it is time to stop regarding the Copyright Act as a law of nature that can only be circumvented, contravened, or temporarily set aside. Specifically, he proposes that the Copyright Act add a new category of work, called “research publications,” which would be subject to statutory licensing. This would allow publishers to receive royalty payments from the principal institutional users (universities, industry R&D, research institutes, and so on) and sponsors of the work (foundations and government agencies), while providing immediate open access.

    Description: Über 40.000 Objekte aus Kamerun (darunter Waffen, Musikinstrumente, Statuen, Alltagsgegenstände, Handschriften, Schmuckstücke u.v.m.) werden heute in öffentlichen Museen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland aufbewahrt – der größte Bestand weltweit. Seit der deutschen Kolonialzeit (1886–1916) lagern die Stücke in den Depots der Institutionen. Sie wurden bisher meist nicht gezeigt und auch nicht in Publikationen zugänglich gemacht. Die Autor:innen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen (Geografie, Geschichte, Museumsgeschichte, Ethnologie, Sprachwissenschaft) zeichnen erstmalig diese nicht sichtbare Präsenz von Kamerun in deutschen Museen nach. Damit wird auch nachvollzogen, was die Abwesenheit des Kulturerbes für Kamerun bedeutet. Zahlreiche Karten, Schaubilder und Grafiken veranschaulichen die geografische und statistische Verteilung des materiellen Kulturerbes von Kamerun in Deutschland. Ergänzt werden sie durch Biografien der damaligen Akteure und einen Bildteil mit Fotos der Objekte. Das Projekt: Die Publikation basiert auf dem Projekt »Umgekehrte Sammlungsgeschichte.     Description: Soils and landscapes are bridges of space and time, as they simultaneously and authentically show essential aspects that were previously separated by time and space (such as cultural and activity-related aspects from past and present) to the trained observer - albeit only in excerpts. Therefore, this article presents a series of impact indicators for soil changes, starting with extreme (anthropogenic) interventions and ending with equally extreme ("natural") events. An essential difference to specifically planning-relevant or human ecological concepts, which, for example, specify land use/load categories, is that the following impact indicators perceive soils as a phenomenon in themselves and do not define them through attributed functions. Particular attention is focused on their changeability and vital development potential, as well as on their property as a sphere of penetration of living and material things, with emphasis on the noetic effect. The intervention or event spaces on the earth's surface can be differentiated quantitatively through the type, strength, and duration of the phenomena. The intensity of all processes can be described by amplitude (the strength of the interventions/events) and frequency (the repetition rate of the interventions/events) and can be specifically identified and quantified by, for example, material inputs or outputs per unit of time. For the first time, there would be a system for measuring the ecological quality of anthropogenic land use, which could serve as an "alert system for the external technological culture," and could help us become aware of our "inner" culture.

    Description: Identifcation of ontogenetic age classes plays an important role in the felds of zoology, palaeontology and archaeology, where accurate age classifcations of (sub)fossil remains are a crucial component for the reconstruction \nof past life. Textural ageing\xe2\x80\x94the identifcation of age-related bone surface textures\xe2\x80\x94provides a size-independent \nmethod for age assessment of vertebrate material. However, most of the work so far is limited to qualitative results. \nWhile qualitative approaches provide helpful insights on textural ageing patterns, they are heavily subject to observer \nbias and fall short of quantitative data relevant for detailed statistical analyses and cross-comparisons. Here, we present a pilot study on the application of 3D surface digital microscopy to quantify bone surface textures on the long \nbones of the grey heron (Ardea cinerea) and the Canada goose (Branta canadensis) using internationally verifed \nroughness parameters. Using a standardised measuring protocol, computed roughness values show a strong correlation with qualitative descriptions of textural patterns. Overall, higher roughness values correspond to increased numbers of grooves and pits and vice versa. Most of the roughness parameters allowed distinguishing between diferent \nontogenetic classes and closely followed the typical sigmoidal animal growth curve. Our results show that bone \ntexture quantifcation is a feasible approach to identifying ontogenetic age classes.

It provides an accessible way to understand the theory behind each statistical learning tool, the required pre-processing, the basics of model building, how to train statistical learning methods, the basic R scripts needed to implement each statistical learning tool, and the output of each tool. To do so, for each tool the book provides background theory, some elements of the R statistical software for its implementation, the conceptual underpinnings, and at least two illustrative examples with data from real-world genomic selection experiments. Lastly, worked-out examples help readers check their own comprehension. The book will greatly appeal to readers in plant (and animal) breeding, geneticists and statisticians, as it provides in a very accessible way the necessary theory, the appropriate R code, and illustrative examples for a complete understanding of each statistical learning tool. In addition, it weighs the advantages and disadvantages of each tool.

Die freigelegte Tapete erweist sich als eine Umsetzung des Versailler Gemäldes La prise de la smala d’Abd el-Kader von Horace Vernet, das ein Geschehen aktueller Kolonialgeschichte Frankreichs in Algerien zum Thema hat. In akribischer Recherche verfolgt Moya Tönnies die Herkunft und Persönlichkeiten der damaligen Bewohner des Herrenhauses, um der Entscheidung für diesen ungewöhnlichen Wandschmuck auf die Spur zu kommen. Im Zentrum steht die Schlossherrin Joséphine von Ahlefeld, genannt Marix, und ihre enge Verbindung mit den wichtigsten Literaten ihrer Zeit in Paris. Als ein Glücksfall ist es zu betrachten, dass ein Text von Théophile Gautier ans Licht kam, der den Besuch des Schriftstellers auf Gut Ludwigsburg als Station auf einer längeren Reise schildert. Dieser Text ist dem Buch als Anhang beigefügt.

    Description: Zum ersten Mal ist in diesem Buch Gustave Flauberts Légende de saint Julien l’hospitalier mit den Illustrationen Franz Marcs zusammengebracht. Schon früh lassen sich Spuren der Lektüre in Marcs Werk ausmachen. Die 1908 entstandene Lithografie des Rehs, das im Pfeilhagel stirbt, ist durch die berühmte Jagdszene der Novelle inspiriert. Seit 1913 befasste sich der Maler wieder mit Flauberts Text in der Absicht, ihn zu illustrieren. In einem Skizzenbuch fertigte er Zeichnungen und Aquarelle, die er mit dem Entwurf für das Gemälde Tierschicksale abschloss. Für Franz Marc war die Lektüre von Flauberts Legende zentral.     Description: Im Juni 1937 eröffnete Jacob Zeitlin in seiner Buchladen-Galerie in Los Angeles eine Ausstellung mit Grafiken von Käthe Kollwitz. Es war die erste Ausstellung von Kollwitz’ Werk in Südkalifornien. Co-Sponsor der Ausstellung und der glamourösen Vernissage war die Hollywood Anti-Nazi League for the Defense of American Democracy. Die Redner des Abends waren der deutsche Schriftsteller und Aktivist Ernst Toller und der amerikanische Komponist George Antheil. Zu den illustren Gästen gehörten Fritz Lang, Richard Neutra, Arnold Schönberg, George Gershwin, Kurt Weill und andere Berühmtheiten der Filmindustrie und der deutschösterreichischen Exilgemeinde. Die Kollwitz-Ausstellung wurde zum Dreh- und Angelpunkt der zentralen Konfliktfelder der Stadt: Sie war nicht bloß ein kulturelles Ereignis in Zeitlins Buchladen-Galerie, sondern vor allem eine gezielte politische Aktion der Hollywood Anti-Nazi League. Kollwitz’ Schaffen geriet damit ins Kreuzfeuer der Auseinandersetzungen zwischen dem antifaschistischen Kampf der Anti-Nazi League und den gewalttätigen Aktionen nationalsozialistischer Gruppen in Los Angeles. In diesem politischen Spannungsfeld wurde Käthe Kollwitz als »anti-Nazi artist« wahrgenommen und ihrer Ausstellung eine aktive Rolle im Kampf gegen Hitler zugeschrieben. Die Kapitel des Buches zeichnen nach, wie die Ausstellung zum Kreuzungspunkt von vier Biografien wurde: Käthe Kollwitz, Jacob Zeitlin, Ernst Toller und George Antheil.

So nannten Kunstkritiker das Auktionshaus verächtlich ein Casino oder eine Börse der Kunst. Lukas Fuchsgruber führt hinter die Kulissen des Spektakels der Auktion und zeigt die Bedeutung von Versteigerungen für die damalige Pariser Kunstwelt. Die Studie geht Schritt für Schritt vor, von den ökonomischen und rechtlichen Besonderheiten des Auktionswesens in Frankreich, über den erfolgreichen Schritt der Pariser Auktionatoren mit dem Hôtel Drouot im Jahr 1852 ein gemeinsames großes Auktionshaus zu errichten, bis hin zum Verhältnis dieses Orts zu Kunsthändlern und Künstlern und seiner Diskussion in der Kunstkritik. Anhand von Archivquellen, historischer Literatur und zahlreichen Illustrationen wird so durch die Räume des Auktionshauses geführt, und durch eine Schlüsselzeit der Entwicklung des Auktionsmarkts. Diese interdisziplinäre Recherche richtet sich an alle, die sich für den Kunstmarkt, französische Kunstgeschichte oder die urbane Geschichte von Paris interessieren. Vor allem will sie aber ein Beitrag zu einem neuen Blick auf die Kunstgeschichte des 19.     Description: Die Auseinandersetzung mit den künstlerischen Beziehungen in Europa zwischen Ost und West während des Kalten Krieges ist eine Herausforderung. Die Einschränkung der Zirkulationsmöglichkeiten sowie die ideologische Durchdringung des künstlerischen Feldes scheinen dieses Unterfangen aussichtslos zu machen; diese Grenzen erneut in den Blick zu nehmen erfordert jedoch auch, sie in Frage zu stellen. Anhand konkreter Beispiele von Begegnungen zwischen Frankreich, der BRD, der DDR und Polen, sowohl in Kunstdiskursen als auch in der Kunst der 1960er- bis 1980er-Jahre, untersucht Mathilde Arnoux die jeweils unterschiedlichen Auslegungen der Konzepte der Wirklichkeit und des Wirklichen und beleuchtet gleichzeitig, inwiefern diese Wahrnehmungen geteilt und/oder missverstanden werden. Zeitschriften, Kataloge, Kongresse, Museen, Galerien und andere alternative künstlerische Räume erscheinen hier als Foren, in denen die Facetten der jeweiligen Interpretationen durch die verschiedenen Autoren und Akteure der Kunstgeschichte – Künstler, Kunsthistoriker und Kunstkritiker – Gestalt annehmen. Ausgehend von den herausgearbeiteten Abweichungen wie Überschneidungen können frühere Analysen kritisch zur Diskussion gestellt werden, um eine neue Perspektive auf die künstlerischen Beziehungen in Europa während des Kalten Krieges anzubieten.

Tra i primi ad averne fatto l’oggetto principale della propria attività scientifica e professionale, per la prima volta nel panorama italiano l’autore ci offre un quadro sistematico di come realizzare l’apertura e la condivisione di beni intellettuali che altrimenti rimarrebbero riservati. Un fenomeno che, da marginale, è divenuto centrale in vari contesti. L’opera si presenta al lettore in modo chiaro ma non banale. L’autore affronta temi complessi con stile lineare e comprensibile anche ai digiuni di diritto, ma conservando un necessario rigore scientifico, fornendo gli elementi per una teoria generale per la creazione e la promozione di beni intellettuali comuni, o commons. Un approccio rivoluzionario a questa branca del diritto, che capovolge l’uso di strumenti ben noti come il copyright e le licenze, richiedeva l’intervento di un giurista fuori dagli schemi e anticonformista come Piana.

Mit Hilfe eines ethnographischen Ansatzes wird ein lebendiges Bild der elterlichen sozialen Interaktionen innerhalb und außerhalb des chinesischen Schulumfelds gezeichnet. Die Studie zeigt die Bedeutung sozialer Interaktionen auf und erörtert sie im Zusammenhang mit dem sozioökonomischen Hintergrund ihrer Migrationsverläufe; How do parents cooperate with each other, what value do they attach to their interaction and how is the degree of cooperation related to social status? The study takes a close look at the social relationships among various groups of Chinese parents at a Chinese Mandarin language school in a metropolitan city in Germany. Taking an ethnographic approach, it captures a vivid picture of the parental social interactions in and outside the Chinese school setting. The study reveals the significance of social interactions, discussing it in relation to the parents’ socioeconomic backgrounds and individual migrant trajectories.

    Description: How the increasing reliance on metrics to evaluate scholarly publications has produced new forms of academic fraud and misconduct. The traditional academic imperative to “publish or perish” is increasingly coupled with the newer necessity of “impact or perish”—the requirement that a publication have “impact,” as measured by a variety of metrics, including citations, views, and downloads. Gaming the Metrics examines how the increasing reliance on metrics to evaluate scholarly publications has produced radically new forms of academic fraud and misconduct. The contributors show that the metrics-based “audit culture” has changed the ecology of research, fostering the gaming and manipulation of quantitative indicators, which lead to the invention of such novel forms of misconduct as citation rings and variously rigged peer reviews. The chapters, written by both scholars and those in the trenches of academic publication, provide a map of academic fraud and misconduct today. They consider such topics as the shortcomings of metrics, the gaming of impact factors, the emergence of so-called predatory journals, the “salami slicing” of scientific findings, the rigging of global university rankings, and the creation of new watchdogs and forensic practices.

Kennan oder auch die Exkommunisten Arthur Koestler, George Orwell und Richard Löwenthal versammelte. Joachim Gmehling zeigt, welches Bild in der Zeitschrift vom nationalsozialistischen und sowjetkommunistischen Herrschaftssystem gezeichnet wurde und wie der Vergleich der beiden Diktaturen ausfiel. Dabei rekonstruiert er nicht nur den Einfluss der zeitgenössischen Totalitarismustheorien sowie die Imperative der US-amerikanischen Besatzungspolitik in Westdeutschland, sondern geht auch auf die CIA-Hintergründe des Periodikums ein. A decade ago, a significant trend in using and supporting open practices emerged in international development. “Open development” describes initiatives as wide-ranging as open government and data, open science, open education, and open innovation. The driving theory was that these types of open practices enable more inclusive processes of human development. From the top down, Shadow Libraries explores the institutions that shape the provision of educational materials, from the formal sector of universities and publishers to the broadly informal ones organized by faculty, copy shops, student unions, and students themselves. It looks at the history of policy battles over access to education in the post–World War II era and at the narrower versions that have played out in relation to research and textbooks, from library policies to book subsidies to, more recently, the several “open” publication models that have emerged in the higher education sector. From the bottom up, Shadow Libraries explores how, simply, students get the materials they need. It maps the ubiquitous practice of photocopying and what are—in many cases—the more marginal ones of buying books, visiting libraries, and downloading from unauthorized sources. It looks at the informal networks that emerge in many contexts to share materials, from face-to-face student networks to Facebook groups, and at the processes that lead to the consolidation of some of those efforts into more organized archives that circulate offline and sometimes online— the shadow libraries of the title. If Alexandra Elbakyan's Sci-Hub is the largest of these efforts to date, the more characteristic part of her story is the prologue: the personal struggle to participate in global scientific and educational communities, and the recourse to a wide array of ad hoc strategies and networks when formal, authorized means are lacking. If Elbakyan's story has struck a chord, it is in part because it brings this contradiction in the academic project into sharp relief—universalist in principle and unequal in practice. Shadow Libraries is a study of that tension in the digital era. As such disclosure can cause great harm, governments may feel that through minor interventions they can protect their citizens from disclosure that is not in the latters' best interest. However, such actions can infringe upon the rights of the users' and of the data collectors', and are only licit when justified. Neither the German nor the US government has the duty or the power to coerce the privacy choices of competent adult users for the sole purpose of protecting them against dangers caused by themselves. Instead, it is suggested that governments should focus on limiting specific harmful disclosure.

    Description: What are the effects of internal migration controls on migrants without a regular residence permit – on “sans papiers”? The book gives an answer to this question with a comparative study of the United States and Germany. Based on expert interviews and in-depth interviews with forty sans papiers, police controls as well as controls in areas such as labor market, health care, housing, schooling and childcare are carefully analysed. The book discusses whether global economic, political or social processes have restricted the ability of advanced capitalist countries to control migration. It argues that migration policy in the OECD countries has become more similar, but this convergence only takes place at the level of policy goals and legal norms. At the level of implementation, national differences persist. The interviews show that sans papiers in the U.S. continue to have many possibilities to participate in society. In contrast, the comprehensive exclusion of sans papiers in Germany confi rms that there is no general “loss of control”.

Das Buch diskutiert, ob globale ökonomische, politische und soziale Prozesse die Fähigkeit von Nationalstaaten einschränken, Migration zu kontrollieren. Es wird gezeigt, dass sich die Migrationspolitik der OECDStaaten in den vergangenen Jahren zwar auf der Ebene der Leitlinien und Gesetze angeglichen hat. Bei der Implementation von Kontrollen bestehen aber nationale Unterschiede fort. Die Interviews belegen, dass Sans Papiers in den USA weiterhin vielfältige Möglichkeiten zur gesellschaftlichen Partizipation haben. Im Gegenzug zeigt das Beispiel Deutschland, dass angesichts der weitgehenden Exklusion von Sans Papiers keine Rede von einem »Kontrollverlust« sein kann.

They show the historical origins of the project of a European union, the desire to consolidate the continent’s ties to the Maghreb or to Turkey, the importance granted to commerce and the worries engendered by history’s convulsions, but also the hope vested in future generations.

    Description: Germany has gradually become Europe's largest immigration country and is increasingly shaped by the image of a multicultural and multilingual society. However, the issue of multilingualism receives little attention, especially with regard to Slavic migration idioms. The aim of the present study is the empirical investigation of the current language behavior of Slavophone immigrants and the determination of the vitality of their native languages. On the basis of a nationwide survey of 500 immigrants detailed microsociological data on the use of Slavic languages ​​depending on persons, topics and situations will be collected and the influence of linguistic ecological factors such as attitudes, motivations, identity and social network of speakers on language use and language content will be investigated. In addition, on the basis of interdisciplinary approaches to the description of linguistic minorities, the vitality of slavins is analyzed comparatively, showing the current situation and the future development of Slavia in Germany in general and specific tendencies of ethnolects in particular.
    Description: Deutschland hat sich sukzessive zum größten Einwanderungsland Europas entwickelt und wird immer stärker vom Bild einer multikulturellen und multilingualen Gesellschaft geprägt. Dem Thema Mehrsprachigkeit aber wird insbesondere in Bezug auf slavische Migrationsidiome nur wenig Beachtung geschenkt. Ziel der vorliegenden Studie ist die empirische Erforschung des aktuellen Sprachverhaltens slavophoner Immigranten und die Bestimmung der Vitalität ihrer Muttersprachen. Anhand einer deutschlandweiten Enquete unter 500 Zuwanderern werden detaillierte mikrosoziologische Daten zum Gebrauch der slavischen Sprachen in Abhängigkeit von Personen, Themen und Situationen erhoben und der Einfluss sprachökologischer Faktoren wie Attitüden, Motivationen, Identität und soziales Netzwerk der Sprecher auf die Sprachverwendung und den Spracherhalt untersucht. Zudem wird auf der Grundlage interdisziplinärer Ansätze zur Beschreibung von Sprachminderheiten die Vitalität der Slavinen komparativ analysiert, womit die gegenwärtige Situation und die zukünftige Entwicklung der Slavia in Deutschland im Allgemeinen und spezifische Tendenzen der Ethnolekte im Besonderen aufgezeigt werden.

    Description: Nach der Öffnung der Mauer im Jahr 1989 setzten massive Wanderungen aus der ehemaligen DDR nach Westdeutschland ein. Zur Beurteilung der ökonomischen Konsequenzen solcher vereinigungsbedingter Arbeitsmobilität wird zunächst ein Referenzmodell entwickelt, das später durch Variationen der Annahmen ergänzt bzw. modifiziert wird. Das deutsche Migrationspotential und seine Ausschöpfung werden empirisch geschätzt und die für die Zukunft zu erwartenden Erträge und Kosten aus regionalen Unterschieden monetär bewertet. Verschiedene sich hinsichtlich der Angleichsdauer von Löhnen und Mieten unterscheidende Varianten werden durchgespielt. Die individuellen Kosten-Nutzen-Rechnungen zeigen, dass die möglichen Wanderungserträge von vielen Beschäftigten deutlich unterschätzt wurden.

    Description: This open access book takes a fresh look at the nature of the digital travel experience, at a time when more and more people are engaged in online social interaction, games, and other virtual experiences essentially involving online visits to other places. It examines whether these experiences can seem real to the virtual traveller and, if so, under what conditions and on what grounds. The book unpacks philosophical theories relevant to the feeling of being somewhere, emphasising the importance of perception and being-in-the-world. Notions of place are outlined, based on work in tourism studies, human geography, and other applied social fields, with an aim to investigate how and when different experiences of place arise for the traveller and how these relate to telepresence – the sense of being there in another place through digital media. Findings from recent empirical studies of digital travel are presented, including a survey from which the characteristics of “digital travellers” are identified. A review of selected interactive design trends and possibilities leads to the conclusion, which draws these strands together and looks to the future of this topical and expanding field.

    Description: Libraries are places of learning and knowledge creation. Over the last two decades, digital technology—and the changes that came with it—have accelerated this transformation to a point where evolution starts to become a revolution.The wider Open Science movement, and Open Access in particular, is one of these changes and is already having a profound impact. Under the subscription model, the role of libraries was to buy or license content on behalf of their users and then act as gatekeepers to regulate access on behalf of rights holders. In a world where all research is open, the role of the library is shifting from licensing and disseminating to facilitating and supporting the publishing process itself.This requires a fundamental shift in terms of structures, tasks, and skills. It also changes the idea of a library’s collection. Under the subscription model, contemporary collections largely equal content bought from publishers. Under an open model, the collection is more likely to be the content created by the users of the library (researchers, staff, students, etc.), content that is now curated by the library.Instead of selecting external content, libraries have to understand the content created by their own users and help them to make it publicly available—be it through a local repository, payment of article processing charges, or through advice and guidance. Arguably, this is an overly simplified model that leaves aside special collections and other areas. Even so, it highlights the changes that research libraries are undergoing, changes that are likely to accelerate as a result of initiatives such as Plan S.This Special Issue investigates some of the changes in today’s library services that relate to open access.

    Description: Unsere Alltagswelt gilt heute als zunehmend religiös pluralisiert. Führt aber die Wahrnehmung religiöser Pluralität zu einem »Plausibilitätsverlust« von Religion, wie dies Peter L. Berger konstatierte? Oder führt sie eher in eine Fundamentalisierung der eigenen Religion, wie Markttheorien dies zur Ausbildung von starken Marken nahelegen? Aus biografie- und diskursanalytischer Perspektive ergibt sich ein ganz anderes Bild: Sowohl generative Aspekte der Religionsgeschichte der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts als auch ein multi-relationales Netz aus biografischen Bedeutungen von Religion, das dem herkömmlichen Verständnis einer, wenn auch prozesshaft gedachten, religiösen Identität zuwiderläuft, treten hierbei zutage.
