    Beschreibung: Die Arbeit besteht somit aus zwei Hauptteilen. Zunächst werden in den "Vorbemerkungen" die wichtigsten Begriffe gegeneinander abgegrenzt und ein Forschungsüberblick gegeben. Da die Entwicklung der russischen Sprache eng mit den jeweiligen geschichtlichen Ereignissen verknüpft ist, werden im ersten, mehr referierenden Teil die geschichtlichen Voraussetzungen für den Sprachwandel in einem kurzen Überblick dargelegt. Anschließend wird die sprachliche Umbruchsituation charakterisiert. Einen eigenen Abschnitt wird dabei die Einordnung des "Artakserksovo dejstvo" in den literarischen Kontext seiner Zeit bilden. Im zweiten Teil wird der Text des "Artakserksovo dejstvo" sprachlich untersucht.

    Beschreibung: The aim of this work is to integrate the West Slavic languages ​​into grammar and language comparisons using modern grammatical approaches. This is done using the example of the imperative sentence in Slovak with a view to other West Slavic languages. This type of sentence is examined for its formal and content-related characteristics. At the same time, its communicative-pragmatic potential is derived and explained from the structural meaning of this mode verbi. The demarcation between the grammar and the pragmatics of the imperative theorem will play an important role here.
    Beschreibung: Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die westslawischen Sprachen unter Anwendung moderner grammatiktheoretischer Ansätze in den Grammatik- und Sprachvergleich zu integrieren. Dies erfolgt am Beispiel des Imperativsatzes im Slowakischen mit Blick auf andere westslawische Sprachen. Dieser Satztyp wird hinsichtlich seiner formalen und inhaltlichen Eigenschaften untersucht. Zugleich wird sein kommunikativ-pragmatisches Potential aus der Strukturbedeutung dieses Modus verbi abgeleitet und erklärt. Dabei wird die Grenzziehung zwischen der Grammatik und der Pragmatik des Imperativsatzes eine wichtige Rolle spielen.

    Beschreibung: In light of the dramatic events which have been shocking Ukraine since November 2013, this work’s itinerary aims at functioning as a basis for the formulation of new contact points, for a dialogue between traditions and cultures which nowadays are again being shaken by the events of history. The author examines the self-identification paths of the literary phenomenon of Russian language in Ukraine. With the help of interviews with important representatives of the Ukrainian Russian-speaking literary scene, made on the eve of the so-called 'Ukrainian crisis', the author shall closely observe the origins of the marginal nature of these 'post-Soviet hybrid narratives'.

    Beschreibung: How can we understand the philosophy of linguistics by taking the discipline’s actual theoretical pluralism as our starting point? By what criteria can grammatical research be assessed if we abandon a competitive model of theorising? Through an investigation of different areas of linguistics, this book brings to light certain hermeneutic properties of linguistic theorisation which are currently poorly understood and sometimes not even yet noticed. As a complement to these investigations, the book analyses a number of questions that arise in the “ideological” criticism of contemporary linguistics, examining the discipline’s theoretical activity in light of the socio-ideological realities on which it depends, sometimes unwittingly. Uniting two approaches to linguistics that are rarely brought into dialogue, the book opens up the possibility of an alternative understanding of the complexity of the particular textual objects that are grammatical theories.

    Beschreibung: The work consists of two parts. The first part deals exclusively with the aspect properties of Russian prefigured verbs. A perfective analysis for Russian is proposed, which allows to grasp the semantic differences between imperfective Simplizia and its derivative derivatives in semantic terms. The second part of the thesis is an application of the proposed perfective analysis to Russian pere-prefixed verbs. It is shown that the meaning variants of pere-prefixed verbs in Russian can be derived from a general prefix scheme and the semantics of the stem verb.
    Beschreibung: Die Arbeit besteht aus zwei Teilen. Der erste Teil befaßt sich ausschließlich mit den aspektuellen Eigenschaften russischer präfigierter Verben. Es wird eine Perfektivanalyse für das Russische vorgeschlagen, die es ermöglicht, die semantischen Unterschiede zwischen imperfektiven Simplizia und ihren perfektiven Derivata in semantischen Termen zu erfassen. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit stellt eine Anwendung der vorgeschlagenen Perfektivanalyse auf russische pere-präfigierte Verben dar. Es wird gezeigt, daß die Bedeutungsvarianten pere-präfigierter Verben im Russischen aus einem allgemeinen Präfixschema und der Semantik des Stammverbs abgeleitet werden können.

    Beschreibung: The present volume is an introduction to the study of Language Acquisition, especially centered on Portuguese. Even though the different chapters always take Portuguese as a point of departure, a comparative perspective is assumed and Portuguese data is compared to data from other languages, when relevant. This book aims at filling a gap in the literature: an introductory textbook to be used by students of Language Acquisition in Portuguese-speaking countries. The book is composed by chapters authored by several Portuguese and Brazilian researchers and it presents in textbook format a relevant part of the research results obtained during the last decades. The book starts with a general historical presentation of the field. The following chapters explore the acquisition of phonology and syntax and consider the problem of typical and atypical development, as well as linguistic assessment. Bilingualism and L2 acquisition are the topics of two independent chapters. Two final chapters discuss the development of linguistic awareness, in relation to the acquisition of writing.

    Beschreibung: The Finnish novelist Kaarlo (Kalle) Alvar Päätalo’s (1919–2000) main work, the Iijoki series, consists of 26 novels (comprising ca. 17 000 pages) and was written in 1971–1998. In this book the text corpus in Kielipankki concerning Päätalo’s works is introduced to the readers, as well as the possibilities of digital text mining. This book includes scientific articles concerning the works of Kalle Päätalo. It also gives ideas for the research that can be carried out in the future. The authors of this book are researchers in the fields of history, linguistics and literature, respectively. The research results presented in this book speak for the fact that the Iijoki series is a significant source material for future research, for example from the point of view of oral history, language variation, metalanguage, swearing and the reader’s reception. The possibilities for future research seem to be quite plentiful.

    Beschreibung: Ancient linguistic reflection in India was able to combine the analysis of Sanskrit with the awareness that the language through which this analysis is conducted (Sanskrit) is different from the object it examines. Although this language-tool finds its dimension in the artificial Sanskrit of the sütras - the aphorisms of Påñini's grammar - metalinguistic discourse is not restricted to specialized discourse: common speech abounds in metalinguistic notations. The present work focuses on the testimonies of the grammatical school of Pâininian origin, by trying to retrace the course by which metalanguage left the field of naive linguistics to become an object of the school.

    Beschreibung: Germany has gradually become Europe's largest immigration country and is increasingly shaped by the image of a multicultural and multilingual society. However, the issue of multilingualism receives little attention, especially with regard to Slavic migration idioms. The aim of the present study is the empirical investigation of the current language behavior of Slavophone immigrants and the determination of the vitality of their native languages. On the basis of a nationwide survey of 500 immigrants detailed microsociological data on the use of Slavic languages ​​depending on persons, topics and situations will be collected and the influence of linguistic ecological factors such as attitudes, motivations, identity and social network of speakers on language use and language content will be investigated. In addition, on the basis of interdisciplinary approaches to the description of linguistic minorities, the vitality of slavins is analyzed comparatively, showing the current situation and the future development of Slavia in Germany in general and specific tendencies of ethnolects in particular.
    Beschreibung: Deutschland hat sich sukzessive zum größten Einwanderungsland Europas entwickelt und wird immer stärker vom Bild einer multikulturellen und multilingualen Gesellschaft geprägt. Dem Thema Mehrsprachigkeit aber wird insbesondere in Bezug auf slavische Migrationsidiome nur wenig Beachtung geschenkt. Ziel der vorliegenden Studie ist die empirische Erforschung des aktuellen Sprachverhaltens slavophoner Immigranten und die Bestimmung der Vitalität ihrer Muttersprachen. Anhand einer deutschlandweiten Enquete unter 500 Zuwanderern werden detaillierte mikrosoziologische Daten zum Gebrauch der slavischen Sprachen in Abhängigkeit von Personen, Themen und Situationen erhoben und der Einfluss sprachökologischer Faktoren wie Attitüden, Motivationen, Identität und soziales Netzwerk der Sprecher auf die Sprachverwendung und den Spracherhalt untersucht. Zudem wird auf der Grundlage interdisziplinärer Ansätze zur Beschreibung von Sprachminderheiten die Vitalität der Slavinen komparativ analysiert, womit die gegenwärtige Situation und die zukünftige Entwicklung der Slavia in Deutschland im Allgemeinen und spezifische Tendenzen der Ethnolekte im Besonderen aufgezeigt werden.

    Beschreibung: This grammar offers a grammatical description of the Ngòló variety of Gyeli, an endangered Bantu (A80) language spoken by 4,000-5,000 "Pygmy" hunter-gatherers in southern Cameroon. It represents one of the most comprehensive descriptions of a northwestern Bantu language. The grammatical description, which is couched in a form-to-function approach, covers all levels of language, ranging from Gyeli phonology to its information structure and complex clauses. It draws on nineteen months of fieldwork carried out as part of the "Bagyeli/Bakola" DoBeS (Documentation of Endangered Languages) project between 2010 and 2014. The resulting multimodal corpus from that project, which includes texts of diverse genres such as traditional stories, narratives, multi-party conversations and dialogues, procedural texts, and songs, provides the empirical basis for the grammatical description. The documentary text collection, supplemented by data from elicitation work, questionnaires, and experiments, are accessible in the Bagyeli/Bakola collection of The Language Archive. With additional ethnographic, sociolinguistic, diachronic, and comparative remarks, the grammar may appeal to a wider audience in general linguistics, typology, Bantu studies, and anthropology. In 2019, the grammar received the Pāṇini Award by the Association for Linguistic Typology.

    Beschreibung: Roots of language was originally published in 1981 by Karoma Press (Ann Arbor). It was the first work to systematically develop a theory first suggested by Coelho in the late nineteenth century: that the creation of creole languages somehow reflected universal properties of language. The book also proposed that the same set of properties would be found to emerge in normal first-language acquisition and must have emerged in the original evolution of language. These proposals, some of which were elaborated in an article in Behavioral and Brain Sciences (1984), were immediately controversial and gave rise to a great deal of subsequent research in creoles, much of it aimed at rebutting the theory. The book also served to legitimize and stimulate research in language evolution, a topic regarded as off-limits by linguists for over a century. The present edition contains a foreword by the author bringing the theory up to date; a fuller exposition of many of its aspects can be found in the author’s most recent work, More than nature needs (Harvard University Press, 2014).

    Beschreibung: Sanzhi Dargwa belongs to the Dargwa (Dargi) languages (ISO dar; Glottocode sanz1248) which form a subgroup of the East Caucasian (Nakh-Dagestanian) language family. Sanzhi Dargwa is spoken by approximately 250 speakers and is severely endangered. This book is the first comprehensive descriptive grammar of Sanzhi, written from a typological perspective. It treats all major levels of grammar (phonology, morphology, syntax) and also information structure. Sanzhi Dargwa is structurally similar to other East Caucasian languages, in particular Dargwa languages. It has a relatively large consonant inventory including pharyngeal and ejective consonants. Sanzhi morphology is concatenative and mainly suffixing. The language exhibits a mixture of dependent-marking in the form of a rich case inventory and head-marking in the form of verbal agreement. Nouns are divided into three genders. Verbal inflection conflates tense/aspect/mood/evidentiality in a rich array of synthetic and analytic verb forms as well as participles, converbs, a masdar (verbal noun), and infinitive and some other forms used in analytic tenses and subordinate clauses. Salient traits of the grammar are two independently operating agreement systems: gender/number agreement and person agreement. Within the nominal domain, modifiers agree with the head nominal in gender/number. Agreement within the clausal domain is mainly controlled by the argument in the absolutive case. Person agreement operates only at the clausal level and according to the person hierarchy 1, 2 〉 3. Sanzhi has ergative alignment in the form of gender/number agreement and ergative case marking. The most frequent word order at the clause level is SOV, though all other logically possible word orders are also attested. In subordinate clauses, word order is almost exclusively head-final.

    Beschreibung: Die vorliegende Untersuchung verfolgt das Ziel, das Dualsystem des Neuen Testaments des Miklawuš Jakubica ( 1548) zu beschreiben und zu analysieren, da über den Du. eine Vielzahl von Einzeluntersuchungen existieren, wie z. B. zur Erörterung der Numeruskategorie im Slavischen im allgemeinen, allgemeine Darstellungen zum Sorbischen mit Beschreibungen der Dualparadigmen, Beschreibungen einzelner Flexionsparadigmen des Ns., deren Besonderheiten und Genese (...). Der Verfasser stellt sich das Ziel, nach einigen einleitenden Bemerkungen zur Übersetzung des NT von Miklawuš Jakubica im 2. Kapitel theoretische Grundlagen zur morphologischen Kategorie zu erörtern, wobei im wesentlichen auf den Numerus im allgemeinen, den Ursprung des Du. und dessen verschiedene Formen, wie natürlicher oder freier, Du. mit zwei und beide und anaphorischer Du. eingegangen wird. Die Untersuchung erfolgt sowohl aus synchroner als auch aus diachroner Sicht, da paradigmatische Vergleiche mit älteren ns. Grammatiken als auch mit der Gegenwartssprache gezogen werden sollen.

    Beschreibung: One of the hardest problems in science is the symbol grounding problem, a question that has intrigued philosophers and linguists for more than a century. With the rise of artificial intelligence, the question has become very actual, especially within the field of robotics. The problem is that an agent, be it a robot or a human, perceives the world in analogue signals. Yet humans have the ability to categorise the world in symbols that they, for instance, may use for language. This book presents a series of experiments in which two robots try to solve the symbol grounding problem. The experiments are based on the language game paradigm, and involve real mobile robots that are able to develop a grounded lexicon about the objects that they can detect in their world. Crucially, neither the lexicon nor the ontology of the robots has been preprogrammed, so the experiments demonstrate how a population of embodied language users can develop their own vocabularies from scratch.

    Beschreibung: L’anthropologie est toujours allée chercher dans la linguistique les instruments de son renouvellement. La philologie allemande est à l’origine de l’œuvre de Boas (1858-1942) et de son école ; Jacobson a participé au structuralisme. Ces deux types de linguistiques ont fourni des instruments d’analyse mais ont aussi puissamment contribué à définir des objets d’études, la culture comme un tout, chez le premier (contre l’évolutionnisme), les relations structurales pour les seconds. Actuellement, l’élaboration depuis une vingtaine d’années d’un nouveau type de linguistique - la pragmatique - entraîne nécessairement le développement d’une nouvelle anthropologie. Elle a tendance à examiner "leur façon, non leur sujet” selon l’expression de Montaigne, en ce sens que les modalités d’expression révèlent entre autres la qualité des informations ou le contexte dans lequel elles s’expriment. Ainsi quand vous rencontrez les mots, de catégorie préconstruite, d’acte de langage, de discours naturel, de locuteur, de contexte, d’attitude textuelle, de stratégie rhétorique, d’ethnologie indigène... vous vous trouvez devant des préoccupations qui peuvent se situer sous l’étiquette d’ethnopragmatique. Chacune de ces expressions s’opposent à d’autres (locuteur : informateur, catégorie préconstruite : catégorie indigène, ...) mais surtout indiquent l’inscription dans une anthropologie d’un certain type et la présence de certaines préoccupations : le détail de la parole Indigène joue un rôle central et ne se déploie et ne s’analyse qu’en interaction avec l’enquêteur. Ce livre cherche à préciser les démarches utilisées par l’ethnopragmatique, les courants et les auteurs dont elle se réclame et propose quelques tentatives d’applications.

    Beschreibung: In most languages, words contain vowels, elements of high intensity with rich harmonic structure, enabling the perceptual retrieval of pitch. By contrast, in Tashlhiyt, a Berber language, words can be composed entirely of voiceless segments. When an utterance consists of such words, the phonetic opportunity for the execution of intonational pitch movements is exceptionally limited. This book explores in a series of production and perception experiments how these typologically rare phonotactic patterns interact with intonational aspects of linguistic structure. It turns out that Tashlhiyt allows for a tremendously flexible placement of tonal events. Observed intonational structures can be conceived of as different solutions to a functional dilemma: The requirement to realise meaningful pitch movements in certain positions and the extent to which segments lend themselves to a clear manifestation of these pitch movements.

    Beschreibung: Karel Teige was one of the leading theorists of the Czech avant-garde, and his activity is bound up with the most enriching cultural contributions made to the Czech Republic in the first half of the twentieth century. Proclaiming himself a Marxist, he was frequently at odds with Czech liberal-pragmatic thought. The emergence of European totalitarianism coincided with a major turning-point in his life when, towards the end of the 1930s, he had to come to terms with the Nazi invasion of his country and with the local version of Stalinism. After the War he was marginalised from cultural life and he died of a heart attack while being persecuted in a ferocious campaign of defamation by the Communist Party. The book offers a portrait of this protagonist of European culture and of the process of rediscovery that in the 1960s reintegrated his work and his thought into the extraordinary cultural revival that blossomed in the Prague Spring of 1968.

The first part is Topologische Felder, a book-length manuscript that was written in 1983 but was never finished nor published. It is a careful examination of the topological properties of German sentences, including a discussion of typological assumptions. The second part assembles all other published and unpublished papers by Höhle on German grammar. All of these papers were highly influential in German linguistics, in theoretical linguistics in general, and in a specific variant of theoretical linguistics, Head-Driven Phrase Structure Grammar. Topics covered are clause structure, constituent order, coordination, (verum) focus, word structure, the relationship between relative pronouns and verbs in V2, extraction, and the foundations of a theory of phonology in constraint-based grammar.

    Beschreibung: This book deals with two research fields and brings them together: contrastive linguistics and third language acquisition. The book describes the following linguistic structures in Dutch and Swedish from a contrastive perspective: spatial adverbs, copula, impersonal passives, impersonal constructions and finally the posture verbs stand, zit and lie. Dutch and Swedish are usually acquired as a third language and not as a second language, which implies that learners already comprehend various other languages. When learning a language these multilingual learners have developed certain strategies which draw on their competence in earlier studied languages. In the process of learning a third language, metalinguistic and cross-linguistic awareness play an important role. Comparing linguistic structures in two closely related languages as Dutch and Swedish can enhance cross-linguistic awareness and therefore be used as a didactic tool.

Examining the means by which particular discourses of progress and hope are circulated globally, it offers unique insights into how LGBTQ livelihoods, relationships, and social movements are legitimated and valued in contemporary society.Adopting an innovative critical discourse-ethnographic approach, Comer draws on scholarship from the sociolinguistics of global mobility, queer linguistics, and digital media studies, offering in-depth analyses of representations of LGBTQ identity across a range of domains. The volume examines semiotic linkages between: LGBTQ tourism marketing; Cape Town, South Africa, as a locus for contemporary ideologies of global mobility and equality; diversity management practices framing LGBTQ equality as a business imperative; and, humanitarian discourses within transnational LGBTQ advocacy. Autoethnographic vignettes and principles from within queer theory are incorporated by Comer’s critical discourse-ethnographic approach, giving voice to personal experience in order to sharpen scholarly understanding of the relationships between everyday ‘social voices’, globalized neoliberal political economy, and the media.Taken together, the volume expansively (if queerly) maps what Comer refers to as ‘the mediatization of equality’, and will be of interest to graduate students and scholars in critical discourse studies, sociolinguistics, and linguistic anthropology, as well as those working across such fields as media studies, queer studies, and sociology.

Eine Entwicklung hin zum Analytismus wird oft als eine der deutlichsten Tendenzen in der russischen Gegenwartssprache genannt. Die Analyse der morpho-syntaktischen und lexiko-semantischen Struktur sowie der funktionalen Charakteristika analytischer K onstruktionen soll Hinweise auf Gründe für eine Tendenz zum Analytismus geben.     Beschreibung: This book argues that what makes writing academic emerges from socio-academic and historical practices rather than conventionalised stylistic, linguistic or syntactic forms. Using a critical realist lens, it re-imagines academic writings as 21st century open systems that change according to affordances perceived by writers. In so doing, the book offers opportunities for re-imagining how, which and whose knowledge emerges. Academic communication hinges on being able to write in certain forms but not others, which risks excluding knowledge that may lend itself to alternative forms of representation, including dialogues, chronicles, manifestos, blogs and comics. Moreover, because academic ability tends to be misleadingly conflated with writing ability, limiting how the academy writes to a relatively narrow set of forms (such as the essay or thesis), may be preventing a range of abilities from emerging. Standardised forms require abstracts, introductions, main bodies, and conclusions and are also predominantly monolingual and monomodal; this can narrow, distort or flatten epistemic representation and can lead to a range of epistemic losses and gains. Drawing on the history of academia, socio-semiotic research, integrational linguistics, and studies in multimodal and visual thinking, and presenting examples from a range of academic writers including students, the book proposes that academic writings be re-imagined as multimodal artefacts that harness a wider range of epistemic affordances.

    Beschreibung: Leben und Werk des Kroaten Juraj Križanić (1618 Obrh - 1683 Wien) sind in der slavistischen Forschung Anlaß für zahlreiche Untersuchungen und Beiträge gewesen. Während die biographischen Daten und seine Ideen zum Panslavismus (geäußert in seinen politischen Schriften, besonders in der ' Politika') kaum noch Stoff für neue Erkenntnisse größeren Umfangs bieten, scheint eine ausführlichere Beschäftigung mit den sprachwissenschaftlichen/grammatikalischen Werken noch notwendig, d.h. mit der hier neu abgedruckten Grammatik aus dem Jahre 1666.

    Beschreibung: Is our thinking and thus the worldview the same or language-specific for all people? This book is an unequivocal answer to this age-old question, which was already pursued by Wilhelm von Humboldt: Our worldview is characterized by the grammar of one's mother tongue (s), so that people perceive, verbalise and also remember events in a language-specific way. These basic insights are made possible for the first time by the experimental approach of psycholinguistic methods (such as eye-tracking) selected here. The influence of language on cognition also proves to be extremely relevant to language contact. As a result of the centuries-long language contact between German and Czech, the aspect system of Czech has changed in such a way that event conzeptualization proceeds both in Czech and in German, and that Czech is systematically different from other East and West Slavic languages.
    Beschreibung: Ist unser Denken und somit die Weltsicht für alle Menschen gleich oder sprachspezifisch? Auf diese uralte Fragestellung, der bereits Wilhelm von Humboldt nachgegangen ist, gibt dieses Buch eine eindeutig bejahende Antwort: Unsere Weltanschauung wird durch die Grammatik der eigenen Muttersprache(n) geprägt, sodass Menschen Ereignisse sprachspezifisch wahrnehmen, versprachlichen und auch erinnern. Diese grundlegenden Erkenntnisse sind durch den hier gewählten experimentellen Zugang psycholinguistischer Methoden (z.B. Eye-Tracking) erstmalig möglich.Der Einfluss von Sprache auf Kognition erweist sich darüber hinaus für Sprachkontakt als extrem relevant. Infolge des über Jahrhunderte andauernden Sprachkontakts zwischen dem Deutschen und Tschechischen hat sich das Aspekt-System des Tschechischen dahingehend geändert, dass die Ereigniskonzeptualisierung im Tschechischen wie im Deutschen verläuft und das Tschechische sich systematisch von anderen ost- und westslawischen Sprachen absetzt.

    Beschreibung: This research offers an integral analysis of the aesthetic thought of the director, playwright and art theorist Nikolaj Nikolaevic Evreinov. The work focuses on the analysis of the treaty The revelation of art, written in Paris in the 1930s, which represents the greatest testimony of the author's research in the aesthetic field. Henceforth, a connection is offered between the known aspects of Evreinov's theatrical thought, relating to the period of the avant-garde in Russia, and others, of a broader nature, which have long been precluded from being known. Through insights on the Russian theatrical history of the early 20th century, reflections touching textual criticism, the history of aesthetic thought and Russian criticism, the complex figure of an artist emerges against the background of the culture expressed by post-revolutionary Russian emigration. An artist who, as an intellectual, begins a dialogue with the Western European cultural tradition. This book thus intends to restore the visibility, as well as an exegetical and historiographic completeness, of Evreinov’s rich legacy as a writer, a philosopher and a critic.

    Beschreibung: Für die Zielsetzung der vorliegenden Studie sind die Arbeiten Apresjans, die nach seinem Anschluß an den sog. Moskauer Semantisehen Zirkel um die beiden Linguisten I. A. Mel'čuk und A. K. Zolkovskij entstanden sind, von besonderem Interesse (zur Geschichte der linguistischen Schule s. Mel'čuk 1980; Weiss 1984). Der Moskauer Semantische Zirkel hat in den 60-er und 70-er Jahren eine eigenständige Sprachtheorie, die sog. 'Smysl-Tekst'-Theorie hervorgebracht. In ihren allgemeinen Zügen präsentiert sich diese Theorie als ein mehrstufiges Grammatikmodell, das auf seinen verschiedenen Beschreibungsebenen durchgängig die Valenztheorie verwendet (s. Mel'čuk 1974).

    Beschreibung: Title in English: Error Analysis in the Interlanguage of Czech and Slovak University Students of Spanish as a Second Language The monograph studies the written interlanguage in Spanish of a group of Czech and Slovak university students, focusing on analysis of their errors. The main purpose of this study is to find a pattern in these errors and to understand their evolution from the beginning to the end of the three-year bachelor program of Spanish Language and Literature at Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic). For this objective we have analyzed a corpus of written texts compiled from 2014 to 2017 and we have classified all the lexical and morhosyntactical errors according to specific criteria, creating a “grammar of errors” on its own. The conclusions indicate that there are no significant differences between errors according to the linguistic groups. This is due to the fact that the majority of these errors show universal learning strategies that do not apply to just one linguistic group. However, the results also show a considerable influence of Czech and Slovak, especially in the lexical errors that occur due to interferences, faux amis and loans. Furthermore, Slovak students have a higher percentage of errors compared to Czech students at the end of their degree, mainly because the essays are longer. This is an outcome of Slovak students taking more risks when they write in Spanish, since they use more language and they choose more complex structures.

His poems are not only born of the author’s talent, but also of his erudition and deep cultural awareness; Stus’s poetry eloquently shows the presence of a significant Modernist trend in the literature of the Ukrainian underground during the Age of Economic stagnation. Stus's Modernism is the ideal evolution of the Ukrainian poetic culture of the first decades of the century, and develops thanks to an intense intertextual dialogue with the European literature.     Beschreibung: This volume contains Italian contributions to the XV Slavists’ International Congress (Minsk, 20-27 August 2013). In the wake of the best Italian Slavic tradition, the lecturers present a wide range of themes in different languages, ranging from the Cyril-Methodian question to the critical reflection on contemporary authors. Despite the diversity of disciplinary and methodological approaches - from paleography to textual analysis, from literary comparative studies to sociolinguistics - these contributions show that Italian Slavistic studies maintains their roots, critically developing previous studies and opening up new perspectives for research, while a new generation of scholars is born. As in the past, Italian studies on Slavistics are playing a significant role not only in Italy's cultural relations with the Slavic countries, but more generally on the perspective of a vast and complex process of integration of the various European cultures, which goes further beyond the borders of the European Union; a process in which the Slavic world, with its variety of languages and cultures, is one of the main actors.

    Beschreibung: Les Dialectes indo-européens d’A. Meillet remontent à 1908. Il nous a semblé utile qu’un ouvrage français dressât vers la fin de ce siècle un état de la question sur ces dialectes, dont certains n’étaient pas encore connus de Meillet, tandis que la problématique de ceux qu’il traite a été renouvelée. Notre titre, Langues indo-européennes, implique qu’il y a des absents : le latin et le grec, que nous supposions mieux connus du public cultivé non spécialiste que les autres langues : tokharien, indo-iranien, langues anatoliennes comme le hittite, arménien, thrace, albanais, balte et slave, germanique, italique, celtique. Chacune de ces langues fait l’objet d’un chapitre. Le livre, dû à d’éminents spécialistes internationaux, traite aussi de problèmes plus généraux : la méthode comparative, la reconstruction culturelle, les ethniques comme le nom des Aryens. Il comporte, enfin, un chapitre sur l’étrusque, non apparenté jusqu’à plus ample informé aux langues indo-européennes, mais dont la comparaison typologique avec ces dernières pose d’intéressants problèmes.

    Beschreibung: Els treballs aplegats en aquest volum recullen les contribucions fetes als dos primers col·loquis lingüístics de la Universitat de Barcelona, celebrats respectivament el 20 de desembre de 1993 i el 19 de desembre de 1994. El primer d’aquests dos col·loquis, amb el títol de «Corpus, corpora», ofereix una panoràmica general sobre els corpus, tant els orals com els escrits, i en particular sobre el corpus de l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans i el de la Universitat de Barcelona. La taula rodona sobre recerques i aplicacions a partir de corpus lingüístics que va cloure el col·loqui es publica transcrita com a final d’aquesta primera part. La segona part del volum inclou les aportacions de diferents especialistes en relació amb temes específics dels corpus: la selecció de les dades, la transcripció, els aspectes computacionals i els informàtics. També es presenta un exemple concret de constitució d’un corpus, en aquest cas el de la Universitat de València.

    Beschreibung: Das Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchung ist es, die schriftliche Wiedergabe der konsonantischen Palatalitätskategorie unter Berücksichtigung der urkirchenslavischen Rekonstruktionsphase und der arealen Ausbreitung der beiden Schriftarten zu beschreiben. Zum einen ist eine Rekonstruktion der Urglagolica durchzuführen, was vor allem der Festlegung des ursprünglichen Zeicheninventars und des entsprechenden orthographischen Usus dient. Zum anderen sind die Gegebenheiten der handschriftlichen Überlieferung zu interpretieren.

    Beschreibung: Ce manuel est la présentation claire et didactique d’une méthode d’analyse des mécanismes qui sont à la base du fonctionnement du français. Il est original en ce qu’il propose une description intégrée du lexique, de la sémantique et de la syntaxe, prise en charge par la notion d’emploi. Un emploi est défini par un prédicat (du premier ou du second ordre) et l’ensemble des propriétés qui le caractérisent (schéma d’arguments, actualisation, transformations). Comme les mots n’ont de sens que dans leur environnement, l’unité minimale d’analyse adoptée ici est la phrase et non le mot. Analyser une langue, c’est décrire tous les emplois qui la constituent. Les descriptions ainsi obtenues peuvent être consignées dans un dictionnaire électronique, dont la structuration repose sur des paramètres précis et constants, ce qui permet une reconnaissance automatique des phrases d’un texte. Ce livre présente d’autres particularités : l’analyse des phrases complexes avec les mêmes outils que pour la phrase simple, la description des arguments à l’aide de classes d’objets, la conjugaison des prédicats nominaux au moyen de verbes supports, une description originale des subordonnées circonstancielles, l’importance accordée au figement, le souci de complétude des descriptions. Cet ouvrage est destiné aux étudiants de langue et de linguistique ainsi qu’aux spécialistes du traitement automatique.

    Beschreibung: In this monograph an attempt is made to elucidate and systematize selected intertextual references in the prose book of Anton Čechovs with the help of concepts, categories and models developed in the field of intertextuality theory. It is not only about the determination of new texts, but sometimes primarily about a more sophisticated investigation of the intertextual signals, which are questioned on their specific position, form and function in the structure of the text. In this way, a more precise intertextual analysis of individual prose works by Čechov is suggested. Based on the study of some early short stories, we first discuss such types of second-degree texts, such as affirmative imitations, parodies, and counterfactures. This reveals an alternative to the predominantly parodic intertextuality of the early Čechov. Finally, attention is drawn to the varieties of fictional literary reception in the later work of Čechov.
    Beschreibung: In dieser Monographie wird ein Versuch unternommen, ausgewählte intertextuelle Bezüge im Prosawerk Anton Čechovs mit Hilfe der im Bereich der Intertextualitätstheorie erarbeiteten Begriffe, Kategorien und Modelle zu eruieren und zu systematisieren. Es geht dabei nicht allein um die Ermittlung neuer Prätexte, sondern bisweilen in erster Linie um eine differenziertere Erforschung der intertextuellen Signale, die auf ihre spezifische Stellung, Form und Funktion in der Struktur des Textes hinterfragt werden. Auf diesem Wege wird zu einer präziseren intertextuellen Analyse einzelner Prosawerke Čechovs angeregt. Auf Grundlage der Untersuchung einiger früher Kurzgeschichten werden zunächst solche Arten der Texte zweiten Grades erörtert, wie affirmative Nachahmungen, Parodien und Kontrafakturen. Dadurch wird eine Alternative zu der vorwiegend parodistischen Intertextualität des frühen Čechov aufgedeckt. Zuletzt wird das Augenmerk auf die Spielarten der fiktiv gestalteten Literaturrezeption im späteren Schaffen Čechovs gelenkt.

    Beschreibung: This study deals with the first works by Don DeLillo, from Americana (1971) to Running Dog (1978), but it also extends its investigation horizon to his following works. The work deals specifically with the conception of time, and the way it is represented in the texts of the American author. By integrating the philosophy of time with narratology, the volume offers critical reflections aimed at identifying the type of poetics through which DeLillo articulates time in his work. In particular, the centrality of the perception of time in his novels and, more specifically, the concentration of the plots in certain moments, the oblique presence of the influence of Samuel Beckett's work in the representation of duration and the attention of the author to the double temporality of the cinematographic image and its hidden aesthetic potential are highlighted. Therefore, time becomes the conceptual context in which the textures of these texts, and the themes characterising them, find a resolution. In the representation of time, in the microscopic analysis and in the slow motion of some specific time segments, DeLillo's narrative traces the possibilities of an indefinable and mysterious perception of reality and history.

    Beschreibung: Die Artikulatorische Phonologie (Catherine Browman und Louis Goldstein) wurde als Alternative zu segmentalen Ansätzen entwickelt. So nimmt die segmentale Phonologie an, dass nur distinkte Information gespeichert wird, die dann mit Hilfe von Regeln und Rechenprinzipien von der kategorialen Welt der Symbole in die kontinuierliche Welt der physikalischen Repräsentation übersetzt wird. Die Artikulatorische Phonologie hingegen nimmt an, dass auch kontinuierliche Information wie beispielsweise sprecher- oder situationsbedingte Variationen als Teil des Sprachsystems gespeichert werden. Variabilität wird hier als Teil des linguistischen Systems betrachtet, das konkret Aufschluss über zugrundeliegende Strukturen gibt. Im Modell der Artikulatorischen Phonologie wird Sprache als dynamisches System betrachtet und somit phonetische und phonologische Information integriert. Die Grundeinheiten der Artikulatorischen Phonologie sind nicht Segmente oder Merkmale, sondern artikulatorische Gesten. Diese legen linguistische relevante Konstriktionen wie beispielsweise einen Vollverschluss der Zungenspitze an den Alveolen sowie eine glottale Öffnungsgeste für Stimmlosigkeit bei der Produktion von /t/. Die Einbeziehung der zeitlichen Domäne ermöglicht im Gegensatz zu segmentalen Ansätzen die Abbildung natürlicher Variabilität. So kann beispielsweise im Falle von /t/ der Grad der Aspiration direkt aus der zeitlichen Anordnung der glottalen und oralen Geste abgeleitet werden: Ist die glottale Geste länger als die Zungenspitzengeste aktiviert, so entsteht auf akustischer Oberfläche Aspiration. Artikulatorische Gesten enkodieren darüber hinaus den kontextuellen Einfluss (Koartikulation in Form von Synergien zwischen Organgruppen) und können direkt den Einfluss höhere linguistischer Strukturen wie der prosodischen Hierarchie abbilden. Das vorliegende Buch stellt eine Einführung in die Artikulatorische Phonologie dar. Es richtet sich an Leserinnen und Leser, die phonetische Grundkenntnisse besitzen und sich mit der Artikulatorischen Phonologie beschäftigen. Darüber hinaus werden neben einer Einführung in das Model auch neuere Arbeiten und aktuelle Weiterentwicklungen aufgezeigt, insbesondere die Implementierung prosodischer Aspekte in die Artikulatorische Phonologie. Somit eignet sich das Buch auch für Leserinnen und Leser, die bereits mit der Artikulatorischen Phonologie in Kontakt gekommen sind, aber ihr Wissen vertiefen möchten. Zur Veranschaulichung werden Beispiele aus verschiedenen Sprachen gegeben, darunter Deutsch, Katalanisch, Italienisch, Polnisch, Mandarin und Tashlhiyt Berber.

    Beschreibung: Inwiefern regeln soziale Normen den Gebrauch unterschiedlicher Varietäten in der Hochschullehre? Philip C. Vergeiner untersucht dies in seiner Fallstudie zur Universität Salzburg schwerpunktmäßig für die lautliche Variation im Deutschen auf der Dialekt-/Standardachse. Am Beginn der Arbeit entwickelt er eine praxeologische Normkonzeption, der zufolge durch den Rückbezug von Handlungsregelmäßigkeiten auf normative Wertungen und Erwartungen auf das Vorhandensein sozialer Normen geschlossen werden kann. Um in diesem Sinne Sprachgebrauchsnormen aufzudecken, verwendet Vergeiner ein Mixed-Methods-Design, welches objekt- und metasprachliche Daten trianguliert: Neben einer quantitativ-statistischen Analyse von Fragebögen und einer Inhaltsanalyse von Interviews, um den normativen Diskurs freizulegen, untersucht er den tatsächlichen Sprachgebrauch anhand universitärer Lehrveranstaltungen.
