    Notes: Zusammenfassung Bei der Einwirkung von Cu..-Ionen auf ein zu 90% aus Wasser und zu 10% aus Polyvinylalkohol bestehendes Gel tritt eine Kontraktion und bei nachfolgender Entfernung des Cu.., beispielsweise durch Reduktion mit H2, eine Dilatation auf das ursprüngliche Volumen ein. Bei abwechselnder Zufuhr von Sauerstoff und Wasserstoff kann die Kontraktion und Dilatation beliebig wiederholt werden. Wenn bei der Kontraktion je ein Gewicht gehoben wird, ist eine Verwandlung von chemischer Energie (Redox-Energie) in mechanische Energie mit Hilfe dieses Systems möglich (Redox-Muskel). Dieses System wird mit anderen kontraktilen Systemen verglichen, durch welche andere Formen chemischer Energie in mechanische Energie umgesetzt werden können. Für die Fähigkeit des Polyvinylakohol-Cu..-Komplexbildungs-Muskels, mechanische Energie aus chemischer Energie zu erzeugen, ist die Eigenschaft entscheidend, daß bei mechanischer Dehnung des durch Cu.. zur Kontraktion gebrachten Fadens eine Abgabe von Cu.. ans Einbettungsmedium, d. h. eine Veränderung des die Bindung des Cu.. an das Gel beherrschenden Gleichgewichtes eintritt. Die bei der mechanischen Dehnung eintretende Änderung der Cu..-Aktivität im Einbettungsmedium wird in quantitative Beziehung gesetzt zumE′-Modul und zu der Menge an Cu.., welche für die Erzeugung einer bestimmten Kontraktur des unbelasteten Gelfadens erforderlich ist (Teinochemische Beziehung). Diese quantitative Beziehung ist für den Cu..-Polyvinylalkohol-Muskel experimentell bestätigt worden. Es wird die Verallgemeinerung auf kompliziertere Systeme angegeben. Schließlich wird gezeigt, daß etwa dieselben Kontrakturen, wie sie bei Einwirkung von Cu.. auf eine Polyvinylalkohol-Folie beobachtet werden, auch bei Einwirkung von Cu.. auf einen natürlichen Muskel, den Muskel des Regenwurms, (lumbricus terrestris) beobachtet werden und daß ferner bei mechanischer Dehnung des durch Cu.. zur Kontraktion gebrachten Regenwurmmuskels eine Erhöhung der Cu..-Ionenaktivität im Einbettungsmedium in ähnlichem Maße, wie es beim Cu..-Polyvinylalkohol-Muskel beobachtet wurde, festgestellt werden kann. Damit ist die Gültigkeit des teinochemischen Prinzips zum ersten Male (und vorerst in roher Näherung) bei einem natürlichen Muskel nachgewiesen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary At low gradients the increase of coil dimensions in a good solvent reduces the gradient dependence of intrinsic viscosity, rises the minimum and yields a higher increase after the minimum. At high gradients the situation is reversed, the drop in relative intrinsic viscosity is increased. The effects are the more conspicuous the more statistically independent chain segments the molecule contains, i. e. the higher the degree of polymerisation.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Aufweitung des Molekülknäuels im guten Lösungsmittel verkleinert die Gradientenabhängigkeit der Viskositätszahl bei kleinen Gradienten, liefert ein höher gelegenes Minimum und einen stärkeren Anstieg hinter diesem. Bei großen Gradienten kehrt sich das Bild um, die Strukturviskosität wird dort ausgeprägter. Die Effekte sind um so größer, je höher die Zahl der statistisch unabhängigen Kettensegmente, d. h. je höher der Polymerisationsgrad ist.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Methode zur Ermittlung der Tropfengrößenverteilung in künstlichen Nebeln beschrieben. Eine Nebelprobe wird in einer Zählkammer auf einen Mikroskopobjektträger aussedimentieren gelassen. Die sedimentierten, infolge der Grenzflächenspannungenabgeplatteten Tropfen werden nach dem sichtbaren Durchmesser abgestuft ausgezählt und mit dem experimentell zu bestimmendenAbplattungsfaktor auf die Durchmesser der ursprünglichen kugelförmigen Nebeltropfen umgerechnet. Der Abplattungsfaktor ist für jedes Nebelöl eine Konstante und innerhalb der betrachteten Tropfendurchmesser von 1 bis 15μ unabhängig von der Tropfengröße. Aus der graphischen Darstellung der Tropfengrößenverteilung läßt sich durch Integration die Gesamtkonzentration in mg/m3 ermitteln.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Liesegang-Ringe, erzeugt durch Diffusion von Phosphat in Gelatine-Gele mit Calcium, werden untersucht. Die gebildeten Zonen stimmen nicht unmittelbar mit der geometrischen Progressionsfolge überein, es sei denn, es wird angenommen, daß nicht in allen vorausgesagten Abständen Ringe tatsächlich erscheinen. Unter dieser Annahme sind die Progressionsfolgen befriedigend und reproduzierbar. Die Progressionsverhältnisse nehmen mit steigendem PH ab, ebenso mit steigender Calciumkonzentration. Variation der Phosphatkonzentrationen zeigt kaum Einfluß. Variation der Gelatinekonzentration oder Zufügung von verschiedenen Beträgen von Zitrat ändern die Progressionsverhältnisse nicht, beeinflussen aber das allgemeine Erscheinungsbild der Ringsysteme sehr stark. Die Zufügung von Erdalkalimetallen, Eisen und Fluoriden bis herab zu 10−5 mol/Liter sowie von Arginin und Glutaminsäure bis herab zu 10−4 mol/Liter verursachen starke Herabsetzung der Progressionsfolgen. Doch konnte keine definierte Beziehung zwischen den Folgen und den Konzentrationen der zugefügten Ionen festgestellt werden. Die Ergebnisse lassen sich sowohl durch die Übersättigungstheorie vonOstwald als auch die Flokkulationstheorie vonDhar undChatterjee erklären.
    Notes: Summary Liesegang ring systems of phosphate diffusing into calcium have been studied. The zones formed do not conform directly to the usual geometric progression relationship, unless it is assumed that rings do not appear at all distances predicted. When this assumption is introduced, progression ratios can be reproduced satisfactorily. The progression ratios will decrease with increasing PH, with decrease in calcium concentration, while variations in phosphate concentrations showed little influence. Variation of the gelatine concentration, or addition of various amounts of citrate do not change the progression ratio, but the general appearance of the systems are strongly influenced. Addition of alkaline earth metals, iron and fluoride down to 10−5 mol/l and of arginine and glutamic acid down to 10−4 mol/l, cause a significant lowering of the progression ratio, but no definite relationship between the ratios and concentration of the added ions could be established. The results may be explained both by the supersaturation theory according toOstwald, or by the flocculation theory according toDhar andChatterjee.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Heterogene Austauschexperimente mit AgJ-Ag+ Austausch zeigen, daß die Alterung des Fällungsproduktes, koaguliert mit SO4-, wahrscheinlich aus zwei verschiedenen Prozessen besteht. Der Austausch von frischem oder gealtertem AgJ koaguliert mit NO3−-Ionen bei pAg 2, erfolgt schnell und vollständig in weniger als 10 min. Von den Diffusionskoefflzienten von Ag+ in festem AgJ und aus der Diffusionstheorie folgt, daß die Teilchen kubisch sind. Frische Fällprodukte tauschen bei pAg 3 schneller als gealterte aus. Bei pAg 4 ist die Austauschgeschwindigkeit unabhängig vom Alter des Gefällten. Die Partikelgröße bei pAg 3 und pAg 4, berechnet auf Grundlage des Ag+-Diffusionskoeffizienten, stimmt für hexagonale Modifikation mit derjenigen überein, die aus Elektronenabbildungen folgt; daher sind die Teilchen hexagonal. Der Silberjodid/Silber-Austausch im Bereich zwischen pAg 2 bis 4 ist immer vollständig, d. h. der Austauschanteil wird in relativ kurzen Austauschzeiten gleich 1, während der geschwindigkeitsbestimmende Prozeß die Diffusion in der festen Substanz ist. Das Gleichgewicht AgJ/Ag+ auf der Oberfläche ist ein dynamisches. Bei Alterung von AgJ/Ag+-Fällprodukten bleibt der Austauschwert niemals in der Größenordnung von nur mehreren Prozent, welch letztere Beobachtung in der Literatur für einige Systeme beschrieben ist, auch für Ag-Halogenid/Halogenidionsysteme. Die Einbettung des Austauschions in die feste Phase wird durch Rekristallisationen verursacht, wie eben durch die Alterungsprozesse, und das Gleichgewicht ist nicht dynamisch. Möglicherweise verhindert die Doppelschicht den Übergang des konstituierenden Ions aus der Flüssigkeit in die feste Phase und umgekehrt.
    Notes: Synopsis Heterogeneous exchange experiments of the AgI-Ag+ exchange have shown that the ageing of the precipitate coagulated with SO4 − is probably composed of two different processes. The exchange of fresh or aged AgI coagulated with NO3 − ion, at pAg 2 is fast and complete in less than 10 minutes. From the diffusion coefficients of Ag+ in solid AgI and from the diffusion theory it follows that the particles are cubic. Fresh precipitates exchange at pAg 3 faster than the aged ones. At pAg 4 the exchange rate is independent of the precipitate age. The particle sizes at pAg 3 and 4 calculated on the basis of the Ag+ diffusion coefficient for the hexagonal modification agree with those which follow from electronmicrographs, therefore the particles are hexagonal. The AgI-Ag+ exchange between pAg 2 to 4 is always complete, i. e. the fraction exchange becomes in relatively short exchange times equal 1, while the rate determining process is the diffusion in the solid. The equilibrium AgI-Ag+ on the surface is a dynamic one. By ageing of the AgI-Ag+ precipitates the fraction exchange never remained of the order of several per cents only, which later observation was described in the literature for several other systems, including the Ag halide-halide ion systems. Then the incorporation of the exchanging ions into the solid phase is caused by recrystallizations as the ageing process and the equilibrium is not a dynamic one. Possibly the double layer prevents the transition of the constituent ions from the liquid to the solid phase and vice versa.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung In vorliegender Arbeit, Teil II einer Betrachtung Über Diffusion und Struktur in 6-Nylon, wurde der Zusammenhang zwischen Diffusionsverhalten und Relaxationsverhalten diskutiert. Aus der Relaxation lassen sich Vorstellungen Über die innere Kinetik, Über die thermische Bewegung in Polymeren ableiten. Da die Diffusion kleiner MolekÜle auf den statistischen Stö\en, die diese durch das polymere Netz erfahren, beruht, kann man Diffusionskoeffizienten abschätzen, jeweils einen fÜr jedes Dispersionsgebiet. Die gemessenen Diffusionskoeffizienten sind jedoch nicht nur Überlagerungen dieser drei fÜr das Nylon entsprechend den drei Dispersionsmaxima berechneten Diffusionskoeffizienten, sie sind vielmehr noch modifiziert durch die Textur im Material: Bereiche geringer und starker Durchdringbarkeit schachteln sich ineinander und verursachen, da\ die kleinen MolekÜle Umwege durchlaufen mÜssen, wenn sich Konzentrationsdifferenzen ausgleichen. Die Verwendung der in Teil I gewonnenen reduzierten Darstellung fÜr den Quotienten aus den Diffusionskoeffizienten fÜr stationäre und fÜr Anlaufprozesse erlaubt, ohne hypothetische Korrekturfaktoren fÜr die Diffusionskoeffizienten und damit nicht genÜgend exakt gesicherte Beziehungen anwenden zu mÜssen, eine durchaus plausible Zuordnung gemessener Diffusionswerte und der aus dem Relaxationsverhalten berechneten.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Eine theoretische Untersuchung der „Übergangswahrscheinlichkeit“ in der Theorie der Viskosität fÜhrte zu neuen Erkenntnissen Über die Anordnung der Löcher in FlÜssigkeiten. Die neue Theorie gibt die Abhängigkeit der Viskosität von Temperatur, Druck und spezifischem Volumen richtig wieder. Das Volumen eines Loches und die Energie, die zur Schaffung eines Loches aufgewandt werden mu\, wurden an Hand dieser Theorie aus der empirischen Druckabhängigkeit der Viskosität bestimmt. Diese Werte wurden dann benutzt, um die Kompressibilität und die thermische Ausdehnung zu berechnen. Dabei ergab sich befriedigende Übereinstimmung zwischen theoretischen und experimentellen Werten.
    Notes: Summary A study of the concept of the “transition probability” in the theory of viscosity led to some new results on the arrangement of the holes in liquids. The resulting theory can explain the dependence of the viscosity on the temperature, the pressure, and the specific volume. The volume of a hole and the energy necessary to create a hole were determined from the pressure dependence of the viscosity for a number of liquids. This data was used in turn to calculate the compressibility and the thermal expansivity which were found to be in satisfactory agreement with experimental values.

    Notes: Summary From the study of Congo red adsorption on hydrous chromium oxide it is concluded that: 1. The adsorption of Congo red by hydrous oxide is an exothermal process; 2. The heat of adsorption values are low, it increases with increasing coverage and then passes from a maxima showing that the surface is heterogeneous. It further suggests that the adsorption of Congo red by hydrous chromium oxide is a chemisorption process. 3. It has been further noticed that the mode of preparation, changes the character of the hydrous oxide as a basic or as an acidic mordant.

Die Hypothese, die die Kinetik des Prozesses spezifiziert, ist gefaßt durch ein System von Gleichungen [1] zusammen mit einem zweiten, Gleichungen [2], für die Bilanz der Menge von Teilchen suspendiert in der Flüssigkeit und enthalten in den Poren des Mediums, und gibt zusammen mit den Bedingungen [12, 13, 14] die Grundlage für die Auffindung der unbekannten Funktionen. Im Fall eindimensionalen Flusses reduziert sich die Lösung auf das Gleichungssystem [20] mit den Anfangsbedingungen [24].
    Notes: Summary A certain mathematical model of the phenomenon of colmatage describing its process in case of the presence of a finite quantity of fractions of solid particles suspended in a liquid is presented in this work. The hypothesis specifying the kinetics of the process is expressed by the system of equations [1] which together with the system of equations [2] of the balance of the quantity of the particles suspended in the liquid and stuck in the pores of the medium, with the given conditions [12], [13], and [14] is the basis for finding the unknown functions. In case of one-dimensional flow the problem is reduced to the solution of the system of equations [20] with the given initial conditions [24].

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Kontaktpotentialmessungen (ΔV) bei Absorption von Dodecyltrimethylammoniumbromid und Natriumdodecylsulfat an n-Heptan/NaCl-Lösungs-Grenzflächen wurden durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse sind in guter Übereinstimmung mit den Voraussagen aus einem kürzlich vorgeschlagenen Modell für ionisierte Filme und können als sehr strenger Beweis dieses Modells betrachtet werden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen auch, daß die Gesamt-Dipoländerung normal zur Grenzfläche für die Adsorption jedes Ions konstant und unabhängig von der Oberflächenbedeckung ist. Betrachtungen für die Ursache der Änderungen der Oberflächendipole aus Grenzflächenpotentialmessungen führen zu dem Schluß, daß die Wassermoleküle der reinen Grenzfläche mit ihren Protonen auf die Kohlenwasserstoffphase hin orientiert sein müssen. Die obere Grenze für dasχ-Potential über die Grenzfläche n-Heptan/0,1 NaCl wird von der Größenordnung von −0,9 V.
    Notes: Summary Contact (ΔV) potential measurements have been made for the adsorption of dodecyl trimethylammonium bromide and sodium dodecyl sulphate at the n-heptane/ NaCl solution interface. The results are in good agreement with the predictions based on a recently proposed model of ionized films and may be taken as very strong support for this model. The results also show that the nett dipole change occurring normal to the interface on the adsorption of each ion is constant and independent of the surface coverage. Arguments based on the origin of the surface dipole change registered by the surface potential measurements lead to the conclusion that the water molecules at the clean interface must be oriented with their protons towards the hydrocarbon phase. The upper limit to theχ potential across the boundary n-heptane/ 0.1 M NaCl is found to be of the order of −0.9 V.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary n-Paraffins or degradation products of polyethylene were vaporized in high vacuum. The gaseous evaporation products were condensed at about —170 °C. Infrared absorption of these films was studied at the temperature of condensation and up to room temperature. At the condensation temperature the films from degradation products of polyethylene are amorphous, and the films from n-C23H48 are amorphous to a dominating extent. At higher temperatures crystallization is observed. Since the temperature may be, adjusted to any value or changed as wanted, temperature dependence of the crystalline part as well as isothermal crystallization can be followed by infrared studies. After condensation the crystalline part of the films grows up with increasing temperature. To a first order this increase occurs stepwise with every raise of temperature. At low temperatures the films are in partly crystalline states as are observed with high polymers at room temperature. By analysis of the 725 cm−1 absorption band of films from n-C23H48 during crystallization we found that infrared spectra of partly crystalline films cannot be composed of the spectra of purely crystalline and purely amorphous materials only. There remains a marked residue, which is ascribed to an intermediate state between crystalline and amorphous. This residue was traced also in the spectra of not degradated high pressure and Marlex-polyethylenes. Films from n-C24Hso condensed at —170 °C crystallize on warming firstly with a unit cell containing two chains. Probably this unit cell is orthorhombic. Complete transition into a tricline cell with one chain is observed in the temperature region between —20 °C and 0 °C.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Im Hochvakuum wurdenn-Paraffine verdampft oder Polyäthylen thermisch abgebaut und die Abbauprodukte verdampft. Die Verdampfungsprodukte wurden aus der Gasphase bei Temperaturen um —170 °C kondensiert und die UR-Absorption der Schichten bei der Kondensationstemperatur und bei höheren Temperaturen bis zu Zimmertemperatur gemessen. Abbauprodukte von Polyäthylen werden bei einer Temperatur von —170 °C amorph kondensiert;n-C23H48 kondensiert überwiegend amorph. Bei höheren Temperaturen kristallisieren die Schichten. Da die Temperatur beliebig eingestellt oder geändert werden kann, läßt sich durch UR-Messungen die Abhängigkeit des kristallinen Anteils von der Temperatur, sowie der zeitliche Verlauf der isothermen Kristallisation verfolgen. Der kristalline Anteil der Schichten nimmt nach der Kondensation mit steigender Temperatur zu, und zwar (in erster Näherung) schrittweise mit jeder Temperaturerhöhung. Bei tiefen Temperaturen liegen in den Schichten also teilkristalline Zustände vor, wie sie in Hochpolymeren auch bei Zimmertemperatur beobachtet werden. Eine genaue Analyse der Absorptionsbande bei 725 cm−1 von Schichten ausn-C23H48 während der Kristallisation ergab, daß sich die UR-Spektren teilkristalliner Schichten nicht aus denen rein kristalliner und rein amorpher Substanz zusammensetzen lassen. Es bleibt vielmehr ein beachtlicher nicht aufteilbarer Rest, der Zwischenzuständen zwischen kristallin und amorph zugeordnet wird. Dieser Rest konnte auch bei nicht abgebautem Hochdruck- und Marlex-Polyäthylen nachgewiesen werden. Bei —170 °C kondensierte Schichten ausn-C24H50 kristallisieren beim Erwärmen zunächst mit einer Elementarzelle, die zwei Ketten enthält (wahrscheinlich orthorhombisch). Erst zwischen —20 und 0 °C tritt eine vollständige Umwandlung in die trikline Elementarzelle mit einer Kette ein.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung In unseren Untersuchungen wurden zwei Typen von Polymethylmethacrylat verwendet: dieM-Type mit relativ hohem Gehalt an monomerem und dieT-Type mit geringen Beträgen an unpolymerisiertem Polymeren. Durch Messung des Strömungspotentials als Funktion der Zeit in Systemen Polymethylmethacrylat-Wasser beider Typen läßt sich beweisen, daß die für Wasserdiffusion charakteristischen Kurven einen gemeinsamen Schnittpunkt mit der AbszisseV (w)z besitzen. Dieser Punkt ist in gewisser Tiefe unter der Oberfläche zu finden, der Abstand von der Oberfläche wird als Oberflächentiefe bezeichnet. Auf Grund allgemeiner theoretischer Betrachtungen wird eine Gleichung abgeleitet, die die Oberflächentiefe der Polymeren zu ermitteln erlaubt.
    Notes: Summary In our research two types of polymethyl methacrylate have been used: theM-type with relatively high contents of monomer, and theT-type with small amounts of unpolymerisated monomer. Measuring the streaming potential versus time in polymethyl methacrylateM,T/water systems, it has been proved that the curves, characteristic for water diffusion, possess a common intersection point with the abscissaV (w)z . This point is situated at some depth under the surface, this distance from the surface being denominated as the “surface depth” of the polymer. Basing on theoretical considerations, an equation has been deduced, which makes it possible to evaluate the “surface depth” of polymers.

    Notes: Summary The adsorption of coagulating ion Ba++ has been determined for the negatively charged sol of hydrous manganese dioxide during its coagulation as affected by barium nitrate in presence of various non electrolytes. The adsorption of stabilising ion OH− has, however, been measured for a precipitate of hydrous manganese dioxide in presence of ethyl alcohol, acetone, glucose, urea, and gelatin. The adsorption of both the ions decreases in presence of ethyl alcohol and acetone whilst increase is observed with the rest. It has been concluded that it is not possible to correlate the change in adsorption of either the coagulating or stabilising ion with sensitisation or stabilisation.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Zufügung von Insulin, Intervase oder Eialbumin zum Ferro-Ferri-Redoxkomplex (0,002 Mol Konzentration von jedem Kation in 1 n Schwefelsäure) läßt den Transfer-Koeffizienten abnehmen, wobei sich zeigt, daß sich die Substanzen ähnlich wie oberflächenaktive Substanzen verhalten. Bei Gegenwart von Insulin oder Invertase in der Lösung ist der Transfer-Koeffizient 0,559, bei Anwesenheit von Eialbumin 0,572. Dies zeigt, daß die ersteren zwei wirksamer als das letztere Detergens ist. Gelatine und Inulin in saurem Medium als Elektrolyt benehmen sich wie Farbindikatoren und lassen die Transfer-Koeffizienten zu 0,591 bzw. 0,630 werden. Es scheint, daß das Inulin hydrolysiert wird.
    Notes: Summary On addition of insulin, invertase, and egg albumin, to the ferrous ferric redox couple (.002 M concentration of each cation in 1-N sulphuric acid), the transfer coefficient decreases, showing thereby that the substances behave almost like other surface active substances. When insulin or invertase are present in the solution, the transfer coefficient is .559, whereas on addition of egg albumin to the solution its value is .572. This shows that the former two are more effective detergents as compared to the latter. The gelatin and inulin in the acid medium (used as supporting electrolyte) behave like dye indicators and in their presence, transfer coefficients are .591 and .630 respectively. It seems that inulin probably gets hydrolysed.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Während die elektrische Leitfähigkeit von Elektrolytlösungen bei Zusätzen von niedermolekularen nichtdissoziierbaren Substanzen weitgehend im Sinne derWaldenschen Regel beeinflußt wird, gehorcht die Beeinflussung durch (fadenförmige) Makromoleküle völlig anderen Gesetzen. Der Leitwertx des Systems nimmt linear mit der Konzentration c an hochpolymerer Substanz ab, wobei die prozentuelle Abnahme für 1-1-wertige Elektrolyte — außer für Säuren, Basen und sicherlich solchen, die in engere Wechselwirkung mit dem Polymeren treten — unabhängig von der Art des Elektrolyten, dessen Konzentrationc und der Natur und des DP-Grades des Hochpolymeren ist. Der GradientΔ x/ηspec·103 ist eine lineare Funktion der Elektrolytkonzentrationc, und dessen Größe ist vom DP-Grad und der chemischen Natur des Hochpolymeren, jedoch nicht von der Art des Elektrolyten (Ausnahmen siehe oben!) abhängig. Für diese recht einfachen, zunächst jedoch überraschenden Gesetzmäßigkeiten wird eine befriedigende theoretische Deutung gegeben. Für die Ionenbeweglichkeit ist die Viskosität des Lösungsmittels in molekularer Skala maßgeblich, die bei niederen Werten von c nur sehr wenig von der Viskositätη 0 der polymerfreien Elektrolytlösung verschieden ist. Die Beeinflussung der Leitfähigkeit erfolgt durch dieselben Faktoren wie die Diffusion, wobei bei nicht zu großen Ionenradien und niederen Konzentrationen c undc offenbar die Reduktion des freien Flüssigkeitsvolumens der ausschlaggebende Faktor ist. Die Abnahme inx, die im Mittel ca. 2% per Gramm Polymeres, gelöst in 100 ml, beträgt, ist von derselben Größenordnung und funktionellen Gestalt wie die berechnete Leitfähigkeitsabnahme bei Zusatz nichtleitender, dispergierter Stoffe zu einer Elektrolytlösung.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Untersuchung von durch lange Zeit gealterten und auf dem Wasserbade erhitzten Aluminiumhydroxidsolen nachCrum führte in zwei Fällen von besonders geringem Essigsäuregehalt zur Auffindung von Taktosol mit einer Querstruktur. Die querstehenden Elemente besitzen negative Doppelbrechung, so daß die Taktoiden als Ganzes wie die früher beschriebenen normalen positiv doppelbrechen. Die Einwirkung verdünnter Essigsäure bewirkt das Verschwinden der Querstruktur und die Umwandlung in ein Taktosol von normalem Typus. Mitunter, insbesondere nach dem mechanischen Homogenisieren und bei Elektrolyse im Kathodenraum treten negativ doppelbrechende Gebilde auch isoliert auf, welche kleine Taktoiden zu sein scheinen. Die stärker gebrochene Lichtschwingung wird stets stärker abgebeugt. Beim Eintrocknen bleibt die Anisotropie erhalten, die Doppelbrechung nimmt aber — entgegen dem Verhalten normaler Taktosole — stark ab, und wird schließlich negativ. Der Vorzeichenwechsel erfolgt zuerst im kurzwelligen und dann im langwelligen Teil des Spektrums. Die Interferenz der Röntgenstrahlen zeigt bei den neuen wie bei den normalen Taktosolen, ebenso wie in den Ataktosolen das Vorliegen von Boehmitkristalliten an. Orientiertes Taktosol ergibt ein Faserdiagramm des Böhmits. Über detaillierte Untersuchungen mit Röntgenstrahlen soll später berichtet werden.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Kinetik der Oberflächenbeladung wird als wesentliches Moment des Eindringens von Netzmittellösungen in Gewebe herausgestellt. Es wird die Diffusion bei Gegenwart von Micellen theoretisch behandelt, womit Messungen an einem äthoxylierten Produkt mittels derhorizontalen Kapillare nach H. Lange gut übereinstimmen. Die Methode gestattet Aussagen über die Dicke der Diffusionsschicht unter der Oberfläche sowie über den mittleren Micellenabstand in dieser Schicht. Weiter werden sehr rasche Oberflächenbeladungsvorgänge mit demschwingenden Strahl untersucht, die sich mit derselben Theorie deuten lassen. Eine einfache Anordnung zur kontinuierlichen Verfolgung des Netzvorgangs,die Steiggewichtsmethode, wird beschrieben. Damit läßt sich das Vorherrschen des Reibungseffektes zu Beginn des Eindringens der Lösung in Gewebe zeigen. Abweichungen von der einfachen Hydrodynamik in der fortgeschrittenen Netzphase lassen sich auf Diffusionsvorgänge zurückführen. Die Ergebnisse werden mit denen der praxisnahenTauchnetzmethode verglichen.
