    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Reaktionsfähigkeit von Organo-Gallium-Verbindungen mit Dithizon wurde festgestellt. Die Dithizonate der alky- loder arylgruppentragenden Pseudoionen RGa2+ und R2Ga+ sind mit violettstichig roter Farbe in Tetra oder Chloroform extrahierbar. Über die Bildung der diesbezüglichen Dithizonate sowie deren charakteristische Eigenschaften werden nähere Angaben gemacht. Die analytische Bestimmung des R2Ga+ ist nach dem photometrischen Mischfarbenverfahren möglich.
    Notes: Abstract The reactivity of organo-gallium compounds has been established. The dithizonates of the pseudoions RGa2+ and R2Ga+ are in connection with alkyl or aryl groups extractable with red colour with a tinge of violet into carbon tetrachloride or chloroform. Detailed information on the formation of these dithizonates and their characteristic properties is given. The analytical determination of R2Ga+ is possible with the mixed-colour method.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary A survey of existing procedures for the colorimetric determination of tin in steel is given. Recommendations are made with regard to separating tin, masking interfering metals and selecting a colorimetric finish. The effect of dispersing agents on reagents of the type used for determining tin, and on the complexes formed in these determinations, is discussed, including new work on the effect of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide on the phenylfluorone-tin(IV) system.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Ein Überblick über colorimetrische Zinnbestimmungsmethoden in Stahl wird gegeben und Vorschläge zur Abtrennung des Zinns, der Maskierung störender Metalle sowie der Auswahl des colorimetrischen Meßverfahrens gemacht. Der Einfluß von Dispergierungsmitteln auf die Eeagentien und gebildeten Komplexe wird diskutiert, wobei über neue Untersuchungen zum Einfluß von Cetyltrimethylammoniumbromid auf das System Phenylfluoron/Zinn(IV) berichtet wird.

Nach der Rückextraktion erfolgt die photometrische Bestimmung mit Methylfluoron in der wäßrigen Phase. Der relative Fehler beträgt ±5%, der Zeitbedarf für eine Einzelbestimmung 1,5 h.
    Notes: Abstract For the determination of 2.5–100 ppm Sb in iron, plain carbon steels, low-alloy and free-cutting steels antimony is at first separated in two steps. It is coprecipitated with manganese(IV)oxide hydrate as collector, the precipitate dissolved and antimony extracted as iodide with benzene. After back extraction antimony is determined photometrically in the aqueous phase with methylfluorone. The relative error is ± 5%. One determination requires 1.5 h.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Eine spektralphotometrische Methode wird beschrieben, die es ermöglicht, Elemente in kleinen Konzentrationen zu bestimmen. Dies wird im Prinzip durch den Anschluß eines hochempfindlichen Galvanometers an ein Zweizellenphotocolorimeter ermöglicht. Der so erreichte Gewinn an Empfindlichkeit wird einesteils durch die Anwendung von zwei Interferenzfiltern dazu genutzt, die Selektivität des Systems zu erhöhen, anderenteils kann mit dem Ersatz der Lichtschutzklappe durch Küvetten mit sog. Limitlösungen (Lösungen bekannter, entsprechender Konzentration) das System auf den optimalen Meßbereich ausgewogen werden. Zu den Hauptvorteilen dieser Methode zählen: Senkung der Nachweisgrenze (z.B. bei Mn von 20,27 auf 0,18 μg), variable Wahl der optimalen Empfindlichkeit, optimales Auflösungsvermögen durch die Möglichkeit der Skalendehnung im gewünschten Konzentrationsintervall, Erhöhung der Genauigkeit sowie leichte Konstruktion der diagonal zum Koordinatenkreuz unter einem Winkel von 45° verlaufenden Eichkurve.
    Notes: Abstract A spectrophotometric method is described by which it is possible to determine elements in low concentrations. This is achieved by the connection of a highly sensitive galvanometer to a two-cell photocolorimeter. The higher precision attained in this way can be used on the one hand by the application of two interference filters for the increase of the selectivity of the system, on the other hand, with the replacement of the flap by measurement cells with so-called limit solutions (solutions of known, corresponding concentration) for balancing the system for an optimum range of measurement. The main advantages of this method are: decrease of the limit of detection (e.g. of Mn from 20.27 to 0.18 μg), choice of an optimum sensitivity, an optimum separating power by the possibility of extending the scale in the necessary concentration interval, increase of precision and an easy construction of the calibration curve, located diagonally under a 45° angle to the coordinate system.

Es wird gezeigt, daß das Reagens im sauren Medium mit Zirkonium mehrere Komplexe bildet, darunter einen mit der Zusammensetzung 1∶4. Dieser bevorzugt bei Fluoronüberschuß gebildete Komplex besitzt den extrem hohen Extinktionskoeffizienten ɛ max=165000 l/Mol · cm und eignet sich vorzüglich zur Ausarbeitung eines photometrischen Bestimmungsverfahrens für Zirkonium. Im Konzentrationsbereich 0,4–10 nMol/ml liegen die Variationskoeffizienten des Verfahrens zwischen 0,5 und 2,8 Rel-%.
    Notes: Abstract A report is given on the preparation and properties of 2′-quinolylfluorone. In acid solution the reagent forms various complexes with zirconium. Owing to its extremely high extinction coefficient ɛ max=165000 the 1∶4-complex can be used for quantitative determination of zirconium. In the concentration range 0.4–10 nmoles/ml the variation coefficients are 0.5–2.8% rel.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Durch Kondensation von Malonaldehyd mit 4,6-Dioxohexahydropyrimidin (Dihydrobarbitursäure) bildet sich der Trimethinfarbstoff DHBTM. Er ist ein ausgezeichnetes, stabiles Reagens zur photometrischen Bestimmung von Magnesium. Seine Darstellung und seine Eigenschaften werden beschrieben. Die Magnesiumbestimmung beruht auf der Bildung einer Adsorptionsverbindung und ist weitgehend unabhängig von Störfaktoren, die bei ähnlichen Reaktionen von großem Einfluß sind. So läßt sich ohne voraufgehende Extraktion, lediglich unter Zuhilfenahme von Maskierungsmitteln ein Bestimmungsverfahren für Magnesium in Aluminramlegierungen ausarbeiten. Der Variationskoeffizient des Verfahrens liegt in der Größenordnung von 1 Rel.-%.
    Notes: Abstract The trimethine dye DHBTM, which can be prepared by condensation of malonaldehyde and 4,6-dioxohexahydropyrimidine (dihydrobarbituric acid), is described as an excellent, stable reagent for a photometric determination of magnesium. The method is based on the formation of an adsorption compound. Interfering elements in aluminium alloys can be masked in a simple manner with no preceding extraction being necessary. The variation coefficient of the photometric method is ca. 1%-rel.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Zur reproduzierbaren Herstellung von NH4F-HF-Ätzlösungen muß der Gehalt an NH4OH in den käuflichen 40% igen NH4F-Lösungen ermittelt werden. Hierzu wurde eine colorimetrische Methode unter Verwendung von pH-Farbindicatoren der Phenolgruppe ausgearbeitet, die geringe pH-Wertabweichungen (0,007 pH) vom Soll (0% NH4OH) zu messen erlaubt, wobei der Sollwert durch stabile Citronensäure-Phosphatpuffer simuliert wird. Durch Extinktionsmessung gelingt es, 0,01% NH4OH in NH4F-Lösungen zu erfassen. Die gefundenen Werte liegen zwischen 0,1–0,3%.
    Notes: Abstract To obtain NH4F-HF etching agents with constant etching behaviour the concentration of NH4OH in commercially available 40% NH4F solutions has to be measured. By application of pH-indicators of the phenol type very small pH-deviations (0.007 pH) from the specified value (0% NH4OH) can be measured. The specified value is simulated by the stable McIlvaine buffer. By determining the differences in optical absorption 0.01% NH4OH can be measured in NH4F solutions. Values found in practice are between 0.1– 0.3%.

Mit Hilfe einer Hg-Elektrolyse und schrittweise vorgenommenen Extraktionen der die Al-Bestimmung störenden Legierungsbestandteile (wie Fe, Mo, Cr, Cu, Co, Cd, Mo, Pb, Ni, Sb, Zn, Sn, Mn) wird das Aluminium mit 8-Hydroxychinolin bei pH 9 abgetrennt und nach einem HNO3/H2SO4-Aufschluß photometrisch nach der Aluminonmethode bestimmt.
    Notes: Abstract The method has been worked out for Al contents from 0.01 to 1.1% in iron, steels and alloy steels, and tested with standard reference materials. Aluminium is separated by 8-hydroxy-quinoline at pH 9 after Hg-electrolysis and step-wise pre-extraction of interfering constituents as Fe, Mo, Cr, Cu, Co, Cd, Mo, Pb, Ni, Sb, Zn, Sn, Mn. Finally the 8-hydroxy-quinoline extract is digested with nitric/sulphuric acid and aluminium is determined spectrophotometrically by the Aluminon method.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Bei einem Verfahren zur Jodbestimmung in Biomatrices auf Grund der Sandell-Kolthoff-Reaktion wurden der alkalische Aufschluß sowie weitere Verfahrensschritte mit 131J-Tracer auf Jodverlust und Reproduzierbarkeit überprüft und eine modifizierte Arbeitsvorschrift ausgearbeitet. Bei Grasproben wurde eine Standardabweichung von 7% ermittelt.
    Notes: Abstract A method for the determination of iodine in biological materials based on the Sandell-Kolthoff reaction has been studied. For the alkaline mineralization and some further steps with regard to iodine losses and reproducibility 131I tracer was applied and a modified procedure has been developed. In the case of grass samples the standard deviation is found to be 7%.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Eine Methode zur Bestimmung des Sauerstoff-Metall-Verhältnisses von überstöchiometrischem Urandioxid wird beschrieben. Nach Auflösen des Urandioxids in heißer konzentrierter Phosphorsäure werden die Konzentrationen an U4+ und U6+ über die Messung der Extinktionen zweier spezifischer Wellenlängen bestimmt. Die Methode zeichnet sich durch Einfachheit und geringen Zeitaufwand aus. Sie wurde für O/U-Verhältnisse von 2,05–2,67 getestet. Die Reproduzierbarkeit beträgt, bezogen auf das O/U-Verhältnis, ±0,005.
    Notes: Abstract After dissolution of the sample in hot concentrated phosphoric acid the concentrations of U4+ and U6+ are measured via the absorbance of two specific wavelengths. The method is simple and requires little time. It has been tested for 0/U ratios 2.05 to 2.67. The reproducibility, related to the O/U ratio, is ± 0.005.

Petroleum ether/diethyl ether/glacial acetic acid (8∶2∶0.1) is used as solvent; the plates are coated with 0.2 mm of silica gel with fluorescent agent. After separation and elution a photometric determination is performed.

A novel synthesis of α-arylazo-β-arylchalcones 6a-e and their reaction with hydrazines are reported.Whereas the arylhydrazones 10a, b, 2a, b, d, 13a-c and 14a-c react with piperidine and formaldehyde to yield the MANNICH bases 11a, b, 12a-c and 15a-c, compound 5a was recovered unchanged.

Phenoxides of 3 and 4 have also been prepared. I. R. spectra and some other physical characteristics of all these compounds are reported.

    Notes: Die Addition von NaP(C6H5)2 bzw. HP(C6H5)2 und H2PC6H5 an ω-Nitrostyrol führt nach Aufarbeitung zu (2-nitro-1-phenyl-äthyl)-substituierten Phosphinen. Der Einsatz von Phenylstyrylsulfon liefert lediglich mit NaP(C6H5)2 das (2-Phenyl-sulfono-1-phenyläthyl)-diphenylphosphin, während mit NaPHC6H5 Polystyrol, Natriumbenzolsulfinat und „Phenylphosphor“ entstehen. HP(C6H5)2 und H2PC6H5 verhalten sich gegenüber Phenylstyrylsulfon indifferent. Wird jedoch H2PC6H5 in Gegenwart katalytischer Mengen von NaPHC6H5 eingesetzt, dann läßt sich auch (2-Phenyl-sulfono-1-phenyläthyl)-phenylphosphin synthetisieren. Die Struktur der (2-Nitro-alkyl)-sowie (2-Sulfono-alkyl)-organophosphine wird IR-spektroskopisch und durch charakteristische Derivate gesichert.

    Notes: Aus Natrium-phenylphosphid und γ-Chlorpropylmercaptan bzw. Cyclohexensulfid werden die ω-Mercaptoalkyl-phenyl-phosphine 1 bzw. 2 hergestellt. Diese sowie das β-Mercaptoäthyl-phenylphosphin 3 werden u.a. als Ammonium-dithiophosphinate charakterisiert und reagieren mit Sauerstoff unter Isomerisierung zu Alkyl-phenylphosphin-sulfiden. n-Butyllithium bzw. Natrium metallieren 1-3 primär an der SH- und sekundär an der PH-Gruppierung. 3 wird durch Chlorameisensäure-äthylester bzw. Acetylchlorid bei einem Molverhältnis von 1:1 an der SH-Gruppe acyliert; ein Überschuß von Acetylchlorid acyliert auch die PH-Gruppe. Äthylen- und Propylenoxid reagieren mit 1-3 unter Addition an die SH-Funktion. Phenylisocyanat dagegen setzt sich zunächst mit der PH-Funktion von 2 bzw. 3 unter Bildung der Carbamoyl-phosphine 17, 18 um. Mit überschüssigem Isocyanat reagiert dann auch die Mercaptogruppe. Phenylisothiocyanat reagiert nur im Molverhältnis 1:1, z.B. zu β-Mercaptoäthyl-phenyl-(N-phenyl-thiocarbamoyl)-phosphin 19, welches sich durch intramolekulare H2S-Abspaltung in 3-Phenyl-2-phenyl-imino-1,3-thiaphospholan 25 überführen läßt. Die Carbamoyl- bzw. Thiocarbamoylmercaptoalkylphosphine setzen sich mit Aminen zu den ω-Mercaptoalkyl-phenylphosphinen und disubstituierten Harnstoffen bzw. Thioharnstoffen um. Die IR-Spektren der dargestellten Verbindungen werden mitgeteilt.

    Notes: Die elektrochemische Lumineszenz von 1,3,5-Triphenyl-Δ2-pyrazolin 1 in Dimethyl-formamid besitzt im Unterschied zur blauen Fluoreszenz dieser Verbindung eine grüne Farbe. Spektroskopisch und elektrochemisch wurde nachgewiesen, daß diese Emission vom 4,4′-Bis-[3,5-diphenyl-Δ2-pyrazolinyl-(1)]-biphenyl 3 herrührt. 3 wird durch anodische Dimerisierung aus 1 bei der elektrochemischen Anregung der Lumineszenz gebildet. Die potentiostatische Oxydation in Acetonitril führt unter Aufnahme von 1,94 Faraday/Mol zu den zweifach positiv geladenen Kationen 8 des Dimerisierungsproduktes. Wie mit Hilfe der Absorptionsspektren bewiesen wurde, entstehen diese tiefblauen Dikationen in gleicher Weise durch chemische Oxydationsmittel in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure bei der Knorrschen Pyrazolinprobe. Die elektrochemische Reduktion von 8 in Acetonitril verläuft wie die Reduktion mit Zinkstaub über die Stufe der weinroten Radikalkationen 7 zu 3.     Notes: Die Elektronenstruktur von 1,2-Dithiolon-(4) 5, 1,3-Dithiolon-(4) 6 und Thiopyron-(3) 7 wurde nach halbempirischen MO-LCAO-Methoden mit und ohne S-3 d-Beteiligung berechnet. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, daß die Oktettaufweitung am Schwefel vernachlässigt werden kann. Während PPP-Berechnungen von 5 mit verschiedenen Elektronenwechsel-wirkungsintegralen zu einem Triplett-Grundzustand führten, lieferten uneingeschränkte HARTREE-FOCK-Berechnungen in CNDO/2-Allvalenzelektronennäherung einen Singulett-Grundzustand. Die mesoionischen Strukturen 5 bis 7 zeigen im energieärmsten Singulettzustand gegenüber den isomeren und iso-π-elektronischen KEKULÉ-Strukturen 8 bis 11 eine größere Polarität und tiefer liegende ππ*-Anregungszustände. Nach PPP-Berechnungen absorbieren die Verbindungen 5 bis 7 infolge eines intramolekularen CT-Übergangs im Sichtbaren. Die gefundenen spektralen Absorptionen von 3,4-Diphenyl-5, 2-Phenyl-6 und 2,5-Diphenyl-6 stehen mit den berechneten Werten in guter Übereinstimmung.

Bei Einsatz eines Aglykon-Überschusses kann das acetylierte S-Monoglucosid 4 erhalten werden. Umsetzung von 1 nach dem Quecksilberverfahren und HgBr2-katalysierte S → N-Umglykosidierung von 2 und 4 ergeben ausschließlich 3. Desgleichen führt die Umsetzung von 5-Methylmercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazolinthion-(2) 5 nach dem SABALITSCHKA- und dem LATHAM-Verfahren zu Gemischen des acetylierten S-Glucosids 6 und des acetylierten N-Glucosids 7. 7 entsteht als einziges Glucosid bei der Umsetzung von 5 nach dem Quecksilberverfahren und bei der S → N-Umglykosidierung von 6. Aus 4-Methyl- und 4-Phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazolidinthion-(2,5) 11 und 9 entstehen bei der Umsetzung nach allen genannten Glykosidierungsverfahren praktisch ausschließlich die acetylierten S-Glucoside 12 bzw. 9.

Neben β-Hydroxyäthyl-cyclopentadien 1 entstehen vorwiegend DIELS-ALDER-Addukte mit Tricyclo[5,2,1,02.6]decan-Struktur. Das Isomerenverhältnis der gebildeten β-Hydroxyäthylcyclopentadiene 1 a:1 b (44:56) wurde NMR-spektroskopisch bestimmt. Die Geschwindigkeiten der Homodimerisierung von 1 und Cyclopentadien verhalten sich bei 70 °C etwa wie 1:2.

Die primär entstehenden N-Alkyl-pyridiniumsalze 5 lassen sich als Perchlorate 6 isolieren und zu definierten Farbbasen 7 deprotonieren. Letztere sind einer erneuten Alkylierung am Benzyliden-C-Atom zugänglich. Die spektroskopischen Eigenschaften der hierbei resultierenden Farbstoffe 8 werden diskutiert.

    Notes: Ausgehend von 3β, 17 α-Diacetoxy-Δ5-pregnenon-(20) 1 werden neue Synthesen für 17 α-Acetoxy-6-chlor-6-dehydroprogesteron 19 (Chlormadinon) mitgeteilt. Dazu werden nach Substitution der 7 α-Stellung durch Addition an die Δ5-Doppelbindung 3,5,6,7-tetrasubstituierte Zwischenprodukte hergestellt, aus denen in der letzten Stufe die überzähligen Substituenten eliminiert werden. Die Strukturen werden vorwiegend durch spektroskopische Daten gesichert. Für die chemische Verschiebung der Protonen von -Gruppen in den untersuchten Chlorsteroiden werden τ-Werte von 5,4 bis 6,0 ppm gefunden.

    Notes: Für 38 Olefine wurden die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeiten mit Peressigsäure in Eisessig bei 25°C bestimmt. Unter Einbeziehung von Literaturwerten für weitere 8 Olefine wurden die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeiten von 37 offenkettigen Olefinen mit der Drei- und der Fünfparameter-TAFT-Gleichung korreliert. Die Reaktionskonstanten ∂* = -1,62 bzw. ∂*1 = -1,78 und ∂*2 = -1,35 sprechen für einen relativ symmetrischen Übergangszustand, der keinen Carbeniumionencharakter besitzt.

Analog reagieren 1-Diphenylphosphinyl-4-alkyl- bzw.-aralkylthiosemicarbazide 2c-e mit α-Halogenketonen 1 nur zu 4-substituierten 3-alkyl- bzw. Aralkylthiazolon-(2)-diphenylphosphinylhydrazonen 5. Dagegen entstehen aus 1-Diphenylphosphinyl-4-arylthiosemicarbaziden 2a,b mit 1 sowohl 4-substituierte 3-Arylthiazolon-(2)-diphenylphosphinylhydrazone 5a-d als auch 4-substituierte 2-Arylimino-3-diphenylphosphinylaminothiazoline 4a-d.

Alcoholysis of the anhydrides 3 and 6 gives the corresponding half-esters 1 c and 4 c, respectively.

    Notes: Die elektrochemische Reduktion und Oxydation von Diphenylanthracen (DPA) und Dibiphenylylanthracen (DBPA) wurde untersucht und dabei gezeigt, daß es sich bei der Bildung der Kationen und Anionen um reversible Elektrodenprozesse handelt. Die UV-Spektren des DPA und DBPA sowie die Hyperfeinstruktur der Radikalionen des Anthracens, DPA und DBPA werden angegeben. Die experimentell bestimmten Kopplungskonstanten werden mit HMO-Daten verglichen. Die Ergebnisse zeigen ähnliche elektrochemische und spektroskopische Eigenschaften für DPA und DBPA.

    Notes: Es wird eine neue Synthese von Desaminothiamin beschrieben, die eine Ankondensation des Thiazolringes an das aus α-Formyl-β-benzoylamino-propionsäureäthylester und Acetamidin-hydrochlorid über mehrere Stufen erhältliche 5-Aminomethyl-2-methylpyrimidin vorsieht.Zur Darstellung von 2′-Desmethylthiamin wurde das aus s-Triazin und Malodinitril erhältliche 4-Amino-5-cyanpyrimidin mit Pd/Kohle hydriert und der Thiazolteil mit CS2 und 3-Chlor-pentanol-(1)-on-(4) ankondensiert.N-1-alkylsubstituierte Imidazolium-Analoge des Thiamins werden durch Entschwefeln ihrer aus Thiamindisulfid und Alkylamin bzw. aus dem Na-Salz des Thiamins, Alkylamin und Schwefel darstellbaren 2-Thioderivate mit H2O2 erhalten.Durch Erhitzen der in 4′-Stellung aminsubstituierten Verbindungen mit Salzsäure entstehen die entsprechenden 4′-Hydroxyderivate.

    Notes: The polarographic behaviour of thio-lactic acid (RSH) at d.m.e. has been investigated in the presence of KNO3 and in different water-ethanol (0 - 50% by volume) mixtures at 30.0 ± 0.2°C. A solution of 0.001% Triton X-100 was used as maximum suppressor. The effect of pH, concentration, temperature, drop time and solvent composition on the characteristics and mechanism of the electrode reaction have been studied in detail. The wave was diffusion controlled, reversible one electron and proportional to RSH concentration in different ethanolic media. The anodic wave of RSH at d.m.e. does not correspond to the formation of RSSR, but to a mercury compound RSHg. The diffusion current (id) decreases with increasing concentration of ethanol and is proportional to the square root of viscosity of the medium. The value of E1/2 shifts towards more negative potentials and the values of the dissociation constant decrease with increasing ethanol concentration. The linearity of id with RSH concentration provides a rapid and precise method for the determination of RSH down to 0.03 mM.

Von den möglichen tautomeren Formen dominiert im Gleichgewicht sowohl im festen Zustand als auch in Schwefelkohlenstofflösung der Enthiolaldehyd. Zur Charakterisierung eignen sich die leicht zugänglichen Nickelchelate. Folgereaktionen von 1 mit Phenylhydrazin, Anilin, Alkylhalogeniden und α-Halogencarbonylverbindungen führen zu Pyrazolen, S-haltigen SCHIFFschen Basen, Alkylmercaptovinylaldehyden und Thiophenen, die im einzelnen beschrieben werden.

    Notes: Nach der PPP-Methode werden einige Grundzustandseigenschaften und die Elektronenspektren der Titelverbindungen untersucht.Aus den Elektronendichten lassen sich nur bedingt Reaktivitätsvoraussagen treffen. Die aus den Bindungsordnungen berechneten Bindungslängen sind im Naphthalingerüst bei allen Verbindungen gleich denen im Fluoranthen. Im heterocyclischen Ring dagegen treten beträchtliche Unterschiede in Abhängigkeit von Art und Stellung des Heteroatoms auf.Die UV-Spektren können durch die Rechnungen gut interpretiert werden. Die gelbe Farbe der Heterocyclen mit C1h-Symmetrie, die durch eine Absorptionsbande um 400 nm verursacht wird, entspricht einem 2-1′-Übergang (Perimetermodell: 1A → 1Lb-Übergang). In den Verbindungen mit C2v-Symmetrie liegt dieser Übergang sehr dicht am 1-1′ (1A → 1La)-Übergang unterhalb 360 nm.

    Notes: Die Reaktion von 3-Hydroxy-2-phenyl-3-[thienyl-(2)]-propionsäuren 1a-d mit Acetanhydrid und katalytischen Mengen von Zinkchlorid führt in der Hauptsache zu 3-Phenyl-4-[thienyl-(2)]-buten-(3)-onen-(2) 3a-d. Daneben bilden sich 1-Phenyl-2-[thienyl-(2)]-alkene-(1) und in einem Falle (aus 1b) 2-Phenyl-3-[thienyl-(2)]-indenon-(1) 4. Als Zwischenprodukte der Reaktion werden gemischte Anhydride von 3-Acetoxy-3-[thienyl-(2)]-2-phenyl-propionsäuren bzw. von 3-[Thienyl-(2)]-2-phenyl-acrylsäure mit Essigsäure isoliert. Die Struktur von 3a-d sowie einer Reihe anderer Produkte wird durch die IR-, UV- und NMR-Spektren gestützt. Ein wahrscheinlicher Mechanismus der Reaktion wird vorgeschlagen.

Es wird die Abhängigkeit der Zusammensetzung des Produktgemisches von den zugesetzten Komplexliganden, Alkoholen und weiteren Versuchsparametern, wie Molverhältnissen und Temperatur untersucht. Durch kinetische Verfolgung der Reaktion werden das Geschwindigkeitsgesetz und die Aktivierungsparameter erhalten.

    Notes: Es werden die im Elektronenanlagerungs-Massenspektrographen aufgenommenen Anionen- und Kationenspektren von Steroiden der 20-Chlorpregnan-Reihe vergleichend untersucht. In den Anionenspektren wird hierbei neben einem (M-1)-Mechanismus als typisches Verhalten dieser Substanzklasse eine zu (M + 35)- bzw. (M + 37)-Peaks führende Ionen-Molekül-Reaktion mit Chloranionen sowie ausgeprägte Chlorwasserstoffeliminierung beobachtet. Verbindungen mit Δ1,4-3-Keto-Struktur reagieren abweichend nach einem (M-2)-Mechanismus und aromatisieren leicht im Ring A. In den Kationenspektren erscheint als Peak höchster Massenzahl im allgemeinen das Molekülion. Durch Kombination beider Spektrenarten wird die Ermittlung des Molekulargewichts auch in solchen Fällen möglich, wo bei einer Spektrenart kein (M-1)- -bzw. M+-Peak auftritt.

    Notes: Whereas treatment of 2-butyloxy-, 2-pentyloxy- and 2-β-phenylethyloxy-4-arylazo-2-thiazolin-5-ones 1d-h with strong basic amines results in their rearrangement into 1-aryl- Δ2-1,2,4-triazolin-5-one-3-carboxylic acid derivatives 2, the 2-isobutyloxy, 2-(2-octyloxy)- and the 2-cyclohexyloxy-4-arylazo-2-thiazoline-5-ones 1i-n rearrange upon treatment with the same reagents into Δ2- 1,2,4-triazoline-5-thione-3-carboxylic acid derivatives 3. On the other hand, 1d-h,1 react with aromatic amines to give 1-aryl-2-alkoxy-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxylic acid anilides 4a-i, via the loss of hydrogen sulphide. The phenylhydrazides 4j-l are obtained upon treatment of 1g, h,l with phenylhadrazine.Treatment of 4-arylidene-2-benzylmercapto-2-thiazolin-5-ones 6a-c with ammonia results in the formation of the thiohydantoin derivatives 7e, g. However, 6b, c react with phenylhydrazine to yield the phenylhydrazides 8b, c.The reaction of 6a-e with piperidine or morpholine involves to molecules of the reagent to yield 10a-d which are thermally cyclised to the thiazolone derivatives 11a-d.

    Notes: Der Reaktionsmechanismus der Methanol-Addition an Cyansäurearylester konnte aufgeklärt werden. Bei dieser Umsetzung entstehen neben Phenolen 2-Amino-4,6-diaroxy-1,3,5-triazine, 2-Amino-4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazin, Cyanursäure-trimethylester, Orthokohlensäure-teramethylester und Ammoniak. Kinetische Untersuchungen der Primärschritte  -  Addition des Methanols zu Kohlensäure-methylester-arylester-imiden und deren Weiterreaktion unter Bildung von Phenolen - mit Hilfe der UV-Spektroskopie führten zur Aufstellung eines kinetischen Modells, das eine Autokatalyse (Pseudo- 2. Ordnung) mit konkurrierender Folgereaktion (Pseudo- 1. Ordnung) beschreibt. Die Aktivierungsparameter und HAMMETT-Konstanten bestätigten die Annahme eines trimolekularen cyclischen Übergangszustandes. Durch Simulation auf einem Digitalrechner wurden die Konzentrations-Zeit-Kurven überprüft und eine Verbesserung des kinetischen Modells erreicht.

    Notes: Broad line NMR investigations on solid L-alanine have been carried out over the temperature range 77°K to 493°K. A comparison between the observed and theoretical values of the second moment has been made, to provide check on the crystal structure and to study the molecular motions. Investigations reveal the presence of NH3 group motion at about 230°K. The activation energy for NH3 group rotation has been computed to be 7.19 ± 1.0 kcal/mole. The crystal lattice remains rigid below 230°K. There is a possibility of torsional oscillation of the CH3 group at about 352°K.

    Notes: 5-Arylidene-3-phenyl-2,4-thiazolidinediones 1a-h undergo ring cleavage with excess benzylamine to give an equimolar mixture of phenyl benzyl urea 5 and dibenzyl urea 6. The intermediate in this type of reaction is isolated under controlled conditions and proved to be 1,5-dibenzyl-3-phenyl biuret 3. Using hydrazine, each of 1d-g gives the corresponding biuret derivative 7a-d, respectively. The cleavage occurs at 1,2 as well as 4,5 bonds.

    Notes: 2,4-Dichlorchinazolin reagiert nach ARBUSOV mit Trialkylphosphiten lediglich unter Substitution des Chloratoms in 4-Stellung zu den 2-Chlor-chinazolinyl-(4)-phosphonaten 1-3. Trotz Wahl verschiedener Reaktionsbedingungen und Aktivierung widersetzt sich das 2-Chloratom einer Umsetzung nach MICHAELIS-ARBUSOV, obwohl es mit anderen Nucleophilen glatt reagiert. Auch 4-substituierte 2-Chlorchinazoline zeigen dieses Verhalten. Selbst die in der Regel reaktiveren Phosphinigsäureester vermögen nur die 4-Stellung anzugreifen. Die Alkoholyse von 1-3 führt in alkalischem Medium unter verschiedenen Reaktionsbedingungen und Spaltung der P—C-Bindung zu 2,4-Dimethoxychinazolin 4, 4-Hydroxy-2-methoxychinazolin 5 bzw. 2,4-Dihydroxychinazolin und Derivaten der Phosphorigsäure.

    Notes: Primäre Amine reagieren mit 6-Amino-thiopyranthionen-(2) 1 oder deren S-Methylderivaten 2 unter Ringumwandlung zu 1-substituierten 6-Amino-pyridinthionen 6. Mit Hydroxylamin gelangt man so zu 2-Aminopyridin-N-oxiden, mit Hydrazin zu 1,2-Diaminopyridinthionen-(2), die mit salpetriger Säure Desaminierung, mit Ameisensäure eine Umlagerung zu 2-Amino-6-rhodanopyridinen erleiden. Anilin reagiert nur mit 2 zu isolierbaren 6-Aminothiopyron-2-iminen 3, die sich ebenfalls zu Pyridinthionen umlagern lassen. Sekundäre Amine liefern mit 1 2-Amino-6-mercapto-pyridine 14.

Es wird eine lineare Abhängigkeit zwischen der chemischen Verschiebung und der Elektronendichte gefunden. Außerdem erweist sich die 13C-chemische Verschiebung des C-2 als ausgezeichneter Indikator der CH-Acidität der zugrundeliegenden Verbindungen.

    Notes: Bei der kationischen Copolymerisation von Isobutylvinyläther und Isobutylen werden selbst bei erheblicher Variationsbreite der Molverhältnisse beider Komponenten statistische Copolymere mit nur geringem Isobutylenanteil gebildet.Setzt man dem Polymerisationsgemisch Elektronen-Donatoren unterschiedlicher Stärke und Dosierung zu, so können die Monomerenanteile im Copolymerisat in weiten Grenzen variiert und durch entsprechende Wahl der eingesetzten Molverhältnisse die Copolymerenzusammensetzungen vorausschaubar abgeschätzt werden.

    Notes: The SCHIFF bases, 4-(2-hydroxy-ethylimino) pentane-2-one (abbr. HEA) und 1-[N-(2′-hydroxyethyl)iminomethyl]-2-naphthol (abbr. HNA) form solid complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Pd(II), Cd(II) and UO2(II). The elemental analyses, molecular weight, magnetic moment values and electronic spectral data have been used to establish the stoichiometry and structures of these compounds. Based on the studies it is concluded that Co(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes of these SCHIFF bases display tetrahedral structures whereas Pd(II) complexes exhibit a square-planar configuration. Cu(II) complexes of HEA and HNA are tetrahedral. Ni(II) complexes of HEA and HNA were found to possess octahedral and tetrahedral configurations, respectively.
