Description: Since COVID-19 entered our lives, it has affected our social life, our working life, our lifestyle, our patient care services, our research, and even our behavioral style. Moreover, this epidemic has affected not only one country but also all countries of the world at the same time and with a similar intensity. Almost the health systems of the countries were tested with a test consisting of the same questions. During the pandemic, many unknown equations were intertwined. We had so many unknowns at the beginning of the epidemic. We did not yet clearly know how we approached patients, how to treat them, and what drugs should be given. Over the past two years, much research and many experiences have taught us how to behave against the disease. During the pandemic, we learned by experience how damaging information pollution can be. The epidemic also showed us the vaccine wars. We have seen how valuable the vaccines we use to get rid of the epidemic are, how developed countries have entered vaccine wars, and the change in the dynamics of the epidemic with vaccination. The years 2020-2022 will be defined as the epidemic years. During this epidemic, we saw that it was precious for physicians to get the correct information. This source has been tried to be created thanks to the fact that it has written down the experiences gained by experiencing this epidemic in person. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all our friends who contributed to the creation of the book. We hope this book will benefit readers.

Salgın sırasında bilgi kirliliğinin ne kadar zarar verebilir olduğunu yaşayarak öğrendik. Salgın bize birde aşı savaşlarını gösterdi. Salgından kurtulmak için kullandığımız aşıların ne kadar değerli olduğunu, gelişmiş ülkelerin nasıl aşı savaşlarına girdiğini aşılama ile beraber salgın dinamiklerindeki değişimi gördük. 2020-2022 yılları salgın yılları olarak tanımlanacaktır. Bu salgın sırasında hekimlerin doğru bilgilerin ulaşmasının çok değerli olduğunu gördük. Elinizdeki bu kaynak salgını bizzat yaşayarak elde edilen tecrübelerini yazıya dökmesi sayesinde oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Description: Approximation of Turkish Law with European Union Law maintains its importance and actuality apart from the context of full membership goal as well. Global trade requires interplay between all world countries with regard to the development and formation of public and private law. Private law regulations in Continental Europe, that constitute models for Turkish law, have been developing under the influence of European Union Law. In any field of law, the authority of the European Union to intervene in national laws is limited to the competences provided by the Treaties. Therefore, acts of the European Union in the field of private law aims the improvement of the internal market and enhanced cooperation between the Member States both by harmonization of national laws and their implementation. Studies and proposals carried out by the European Union for the harmonization of laws should be/are closely followed by our country. Establishment of Customs Union between Turkey and European Union in 1995 with the 1/95 numbered Community Council Decision and initiation of accession negotiations in October 2005 have accelerated the harmonization process of Turkish law with the European Union law. In the heat of these events, it can be observed that the preamble of most of the main codifications and secondary regulations in the field of company law, banking and capital markets law, intellectual and commercial property law, competition law, consumer law and protection of personal data law; reflects the aim of approximation with European Union legislation. Turkey’s geographical location, parallelly the fact that majority of the states, which Turkey has economical, cultural and sociological relations with, are members of the European Union following the impact of European Union on the model laws of Turkish laws, including Swiss law which keep tab on European Union law, necessitates the harmonization of European Union law to remain on Turkish lawyers’ agenda in the future as well. Hence, this Book Project has been prepared by the first documentation center acknowledged by European Union’s competent publishing and distribution bodies, Istanbul University Faculty of Law European Law Application and Research Center, with the object of providing a source for publications and conferences of Turkish lawyers who are keen to work in this field. This Project is an academic study and reflects the evaluation of the authors on harmonization of Turkish law with European Union law and their opinions for the methodology for an approximation of Turkish legislation. Although it is not either an official report or an action plan, it has been prepared with the view of providing a reference to public authorities, especially Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for European Union Affairs and European Union harmonization offices in other relevant ministries. The preparation phase of this Project includes determination of the subdisciplines of Turkish private law, in which harmonization with European Union law, has been taken in regard. The specification of a certain topic is left to the authors. As a matter of course, it was not possible for us to cover all the subdisciplines of private law likewise to examine the entire European Union acquis in the included fields. Our perspective is to provide an insight into European law, its comparison with European Union law and evaluation of alignment. With this regard, every contributor examined the regulation which includes the most general rules on that topic. Although the examined regulations have been enacted on the legal basis of the Treaties, the relevant articles have been explained under the “Remarks” title. In this way, with the exception of topics under “Competition Law” chapter, only the masthead of the acts of European Union organs are shown under the “Legislation” title. Besides, all the examined European Union legislation and their legal basis are shown in the European Union legislation list and index at the end of this book. Subdisciplines of private law to be studied has been designated taking into account several factors, such as the necessity of reevaluation and updating with the current acquis, despite the fact that Turkey’s remarkable progress in the past according to the European Commission country reports; Ministry of European Union’s Action Plan covering the years of 2016-2019; 11th development plan of Turkish Presidency. Thus, the Project touches on Company Law, Financial Services, Consumer and Health Protection, Intellectual Property chapters which have been opened for negotiations, and Competition Policy chapter that has not yet been opened for negotiation alongside the Protection Of Personal Data which is not itself a negotiation chapter but concerns several chapters of negotiation. Regulations in the aforementioned fields have been analyzed under the Company Law, Banking and Capital Markets Law, Intellectual and Commercial Property Law, Competition Law, Consumer Law and Protection of Personal Data Law main titles. Within the scope of the Project, contributors were expected to prepare their work according to the following outline: I. Legislation A. European Union Legislation B. Turkish Legislation; II. Remarks A. European Union Law, B. Turkish Law; III. Assessments and Suggestions. By this means, the necessity of the readers to get conveniently informed solely on the European Union Law or Turkish law related to that subject is considered. Assessments and suggestions have been provided under a separate title with the view of improving on the perception of approximation with European Union which only focuses on the translation of legislation and relation of European Union law with Turkish law can be put forward in an integrated mindset. Under this title, the conclusions reached by evaluating Turkish law and European Union law have been placed in numerical order. In other respects, contributors were provided flexibility in terms of methodology to be used for their remarks and assessments and freedom to include the Turkish translation of the relevant European Union legislation and place article proposals for Turkish legislation. Editorial Board elaborated on determining the main subjects and, alongside the review of all studies with respect to the fundamental aim of this book, providing for systematical coherence thereof.

Description: Türk hukukunun Avrupa Birliği hukukuna uyumunun sağlanması, tam üyelik hedefi bağlamında ve bunun dışında ülkemizde önemini ve güncelliğini koruyan bir meseledir. Küresel ticaret, yalnızca ülkemiz değil bütün dünya ülkelerinde kamu ve özel hukukun gelişim ve şekillenmesinde etkileşim içerisinde olmayı gerektirmektedir. Türk hukukunda özel hukuk alanında ağırlıkla takip edilen mehaz hukuk düzenlemeleri ise Avrupa Birliği’nin etkisi altında gelişmektedir. Avrupa Birliği organlarının herhangi bir hukuk alanında düzenleme yapma yetkisi kurucu anlaşmalarla üye devletlerin Birliğe bırakmış olduğu yetkiler ile sınırlıdır. Özel hukuk alanındaki Avrupa Birliği tasarrufları, temel olarak iç pazarın geliştirilmesi/ güçlendirilmesi ve tüm üye devletlerin hukuk düzenlemeleri ile uygulamalarının uyumlaştırılması hedefine yönelir. Bu alanda Avrupa Birliği tarafından yürütülen iç hukukların yakınlaştırılmasına yönelik çalışmalar ve tasarruflar ülkemizce yakından takip edilmektedir/edilmelidir. 1/95 sayılı Ortaklık Konseyi Kararı ile 1995 yılında Gümrük Birliği’nin tesisi ve Ekim 2005’te katılım müzakerelerinin açılması Avrupa Birliği mevzuatıyla uyum sürecine ivme katan gelişmelerdendir. Bu gelişmelerin etkisinde ülkemizde şirketler hukuku, bankacılık ve sermaye piyasası hukuku, fikrî ve sınai mülkiyet hukuku, rekabet hukuku, tüketici hukuku ve kişisel verilerin korunması hukuku alanlarında çıkarılan kanunların ve ikincil mevzuatın genel gerekçelerine Avrupa Birliği mevzuatıyla uyum amacının aksettirildiği görülmektedir. Ülkemizin coğrafi konumu, buna paralel olarak ekonomik, kültürel ve sosyolojik açıdan ilişki içinde bulunduğu devletlerin ekseriyetinin anılan Birlik içinde bulunmaları, takiben yürürlükte bulunan mevzuatımız üzerinde Avrupa Birliği hukukunun ve Birlik düzenlemelerini oldukça sıkı bir şekilde takip eden İsviçre’nin etkisi, Avrupa Birliği hukukuyla uyumun gelecekte de Türk hukukçularının gündeminde kalmasını gerektirmektedir. İşbu Kitap projesi 1973 yılında kurulan ve Avrupa Birliği’nin yetkili yayın ve dağıtım kuruluşlarınca tanınan Türkiye’deki ilk dokümantasyon merkezi olan İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Avrupa Hukuku Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi tarafından, Türk hukukçularının bu alanda yapacağı bilimsel eserlere ve toplantılara kaynaklık etme gayesiyle hazırlanmıştır. Proje, akademik çalışma niteliğindedir ve yazarların Türk ve Avrupa Birliği hukukunun uyumuna ilişkin güncel değerlendirmeleri ile mevzuat yakınlaştırmasının ne şekilde yapılabileceği hakkında görüşlerini içermektedir. Çalışmanın başta Dışişleri Bakanlığı Avrupa Birliği Başkanlığı ve diğer ilgili Bakanlıklar nezdinde bulunan Avrupa Birliği uyum komisyonları olmak üzere, kamu mercileri tarafından hazırlanan rapor veya ulusal program/eylem planlarının hayata geçirilmesine yardımcı olması amaçlanmaktadır. Hazırlık sürecinde öncelikle hukukumuzda Avrupa Birliği hukukuyla uyumun gözetildiği özel hukukun alt disiplinleri belirlenmiş, bu alanlarda ele alınacak konunun tercihi proje katılımcılarına bırakılmıştır. Proje, özel hukukun tüm alt disiplinlerini kapsamadığı gibi belirlenen alanlara yönelik tüm Avrupa Birliği müktesebatının da ele alınmadığının altı çizilmelidir. Her bir katılımcı, belirlediği konu başlığı altında konuyu en kapsamlı şekilde ele alan düzenlemeleri incelemektedir. İncelenen düzenlemelerin tamamı Avrupa Birliği Kurucu Antlaşmalarında iç pazarın işleyişine yönelik hükümlere dayanmaktaysa da bu hükümlere, incelenen mevzuatın gösterildiği künyeler yerine Avrupa Birliği hukukuna yönelik açıklamalar başlıkları altında yer verilmektedir. Böylelikle rekabet hukuku bölümü altındaki konu başlıkları hariç, Avrupa Birliği mevzuatı başlığı altında yalnızca Avrupa Birliği organları tarafından çıkarılan tasarrufların künyeleri gösterilmektedir. Bunun yanında incelenen tüm AB mevzuatının Avrupa Birliği Kurucu Antlaşmalarındaki dayanaklarının da gösterildiği listesi kitabın sonunda okuyucuların istifadesine sunulmaktadır. Alt disiplinler, Türkiye’nin belirli bir yol kat ettiği fakat güncel Avrupa Birliği mevzuatı ışığında uyumunun yeniden değerlendirilmesi ihtiyacının bulunduğu alanları kapsayacak şekilde Avrupa Komisyonu Türkiye Ülke Raporları ve 2016- 2019 yıllarını kapsayan Avrupa Birliği Bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanan Avrupa Birliği’ne Katılım İçin Ulusal Eylem Planı ve Cumhurbaşkanlığı 11. Mezkûr alanlarla ilgili düzenlemeler Şirketler Hukuku, Bankacılık ve Sermaye Piyasası Hukuku, Fikrî ve Sınai Mülkiyet Hukuku, Rekabet Hukuku, Tüketici Hukuku ve Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Hukuku ana başlıkları altında incelenmektedir. Proje kapsamında katılımcılardan çalışmalarını I. Mevzuat A. Avrupa Birliği Hukuku B. Türk Hukuku; II. Açıklamalar A. Avrupa Birliği Hukuku B. Türk Hukuku, III. Değerlendirme ve Öneriler planını takip ederek hazırlamaları beklenmiştir. Bu sayede her bir konuyla alakalı yalnızca Avrupa Birliği hukuku veya yalnızca Türk hukuku hakkında bilgi edinmek isteyen okuyucuların da çalışmadan rahatça istifade edilebilmesi gözetilmiştir. Değerlendirme ve önerilerin ayrı bir başlık altında sıralanmasıyla, Avrupa Birliği mevzuatıyla uyum anlayışının Avrupa Birliği mevzuatının tercüme edilmesinin ötesinde ve hukukumuzla ilişkisinin bütüncül bir yaklaşım ile ele alınarak ortaya konulması hedeflenmektedir. Bu başlık altında Türk hukuku ile Avrupa Birliği hukuku birlikte değerlendirilerek varılan sonuçlara numara sırası ile yer verilmiştir. Bununla birlikte katılımcılara değerlendirmelerinde izleyecekleri yol konusunda esneklik sağlanmış, katılımcılar Avrupa Birliği mevzuatının çevirisini çalışmalarına ekleme, madde önerisinde bulunma konularında serbest bırakılmıştır. Editörler Kurulu, bu noktada ana konu başlıklarının belirlenmesi ve tüm çalışmaların işbu Kitabın yöneldiği temel amaç doğrultusunda incelenmesi yanında, bunlar arasında sistematik bir ahengin sağlanmasına da özen göstermiştir.

Description: Owing to its geopolitical position, Turkey owns several sea basins that are of great strategic importance. Turkey’s primary interests in those basins necessitates that the country assumes an active role and responsibility in foreign policy. Therefore, controversial issues arising from international maritime law and relations with riparian states constitute a crucial part of Turkey’s foreign policy. Recently in particular, the increasing importance of using marine resources for states paved way for some tensions between countries in potentially strategic sea basins. Turkey is one of the countries that is affected by that situation owing to its geopolitical position. The extent to which economic activities within the sea basin, pertaining to energy resources in the seas, can be used by countries constitutes the most important issue of today’s maritime law. In particular, the high number of riparian states and the nature of marine resources in the region render those issues even more important. In case of the existence of more than one riparian country, the most important principles concerning the extent to which countries will benefit from marine resources appear within the framework of the concept of continental shelf. The concept of continental shelf, formalized with the Geneva Convention on the Law of the Sea, allows riparian states to conduct activities on a legal basis, in accordance with principles of international maritime law such as equity, proportionality, and domination of land over sea. Another concept that accompanies the concept of continental shelf is the concept of the exclusive economic zone, and the activities conducted within the framework of those concepts aim to eliminate conflicts that might arise between riparian states. We hear those concepts all the time, especially during disputes regarding oil and natural-gas exploration activities in the Eastern Mediterranean. This necessitates the development of strategies based on national interest and fair sharing by adhering to the concepts and principles developed by international maritime law in maritime regions under tension. Moreover, developing such strategies will help in establishing important mechanisms to deter states from activities that are illegal and in violation of the law of the sea. The expression Blue Homeland, which suggests that Turkey’s marine resources surrounding its borders should be considered an important a part of the Homeland as the land, has just begun to appear in the literature of international relations. Accordingly, all the maritime jurisdiction areas that have been declared and are expected to be declared in line with Turkey’s rights and duties arising from international law are called the Blue Homeland. Pursuing a policy within the framework of the Blue Homeland doctrine in all matters involving the maritime law to which Turkey is a party has been discussed frequently in recent years. The active role that it plays in the littoral seas, especially in the Eastern Mediterranean, requires that Turkey be in a stronger position in terms of potential conflicts and tensions with other riparian countries. This study aims to reveal Turkey’s Blue Homeland map based on the treaties and conventions to which Turkey is a party, especially the basic texts of the International Law of the Sea. Therefore, the study examines all problems pertaining to the issues within the scope of the law of the sea to which Turkey is a party within the framework of the Blue Homeland approach.

Description: Türkiye, sahip olduğu jeopolitik konumu göz önünde bulundurulduğunda son derece stratejik deniz alanlarına ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Üç tarafının denizlerle çevrili olması ve Türkiye’nin bu denizlerdeki ekonomik, askeri ve diğer birçok açıdan üstlendiği aktif rol, ülkeyi iç siyasette olduğu kadar dış siyasette de söz sahibi bir konuma getirmektedir. Dolayısıyla tüm bu denizleri paylaştığı kıyıdaş devletler ile geliştirdiği ilişkiler ve deniz hukuku, Türkiye’nin dış politikasının önemli bir parçasını oluşturmaktadır. Nitekim deniz kaynaklarından yararlanmak, tüm kıyıdaş devletlerin başlıca amacı haline gelmiş, zaman zaman ülkeler arasında bazı gerginliklerin baş göstermesine zemin hazırlamıştır. Denizlerdeki enerji kaynakları başta olmak üzere deniz alanı içerisindeki ekonomik faaliyetlerin ülkeler tarafından ne derece kullanılabileceği, günümüz deniz hukukunun en önemli sorunsalını oluşturmaktadır. Özellikle kıyıdaş devletlerin sayısının fazla olması ve bölgedeki deniz kaynaklarının niteliği, bu sorunsalı daha da önemli bir hale getirmektedir. Birden fazla kıyıdaş ülkenin varlığı durumunda ülkelerin deniz kaynaklarından ne derece faydalanacağına dair en önemli ilke kıta sahanlığı kavramı olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Cenevre Deniz Hukuku Sözleşmesi ile resmileşen kıta sahanlığı kavramı, yine uluslararası deniz hukukunun hakkaniyet, orantılılık, coğrafyanın üstünlüğü gibi prensipler doğrultusunda kıyıdaş devletlerin faaliyetlerini yasal bir zeminde gerçekleştirmelerine imkân vermektedir. Kıta sahanlığı ilkesine eşlik eden bir diğer kavram ise Münhasır Ekonomik Bölge olup tüm bu kavramlar, kıyıdaş devletler arasında oluşabilecek anlaşmazlıkları ortadan kaldırmayı hedeflemektedir. Özellikle Doğu Akdeniz bölgesindeki devletlerin gerçekleştirdiği petrol arama çalışmalarında Türkiye’nin faaliyetlerini yasal bir zemine oturtmasında ilgili kavramları sıkça duymaktayız. Ayrıca bu kavramlar, bölgedeki kıyıdaş devletleri deniz hukukuna aykırı ve yasallıktan uzak faaliyetlerden caydırma yolunda önemli birer mekanizmadır. Türkiye’nin, sınırlarını çevreleyen deniz kaynaklarını da toprak parçası kadar önemli birer vatan parçası kabul eden Mavi Vatan ifadesi ise, uluslararası ilişkiler literatüründe yeni yeni yer almaya başlamıştır. Doğu Akdeniz başta olmak üzere kıyıdaş olduğu denizlerde üstlendiği aktif rol, Türkiye’nin diğer kıyıdaş ülkeler ile gerçekleşebilecek çatışma ve gerginlikler karşısında deniz hukukunda daha etkin bir konumda olmasını gerekli kılmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda ortaya atılan Mavi Vatan doktrini ise, ülkelerin artan ekonomik kaynak gereksinimleri doğrultusunda, sahip oldukları deniz kaynaklarının da tıpkı toprak parçası gibi anavatanı olduğu tezini savunmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda Türkiye’nin uluslararası hukuktan doğan hak ve görevleri doğrultusunda ilan edilmiş ve ilan edilmesi öngörülen deniz yetki alanlarının tümüne Mavi Vatan denilmekte, Türkiye’nin taraf olduğu deniz hukukunu kapsayan tüm konularda Mavi Vatan doktrini çerçevesinde bir siyaset yürütülmektedir. Bu çalışma, Uluslararası Deniz Hukuku temel metinleri başta olmak üzere Türkiye’nin taraf olduğu antlaşmalar, sözleşmeler temel alınarak Türkiye’nin Mavi Vatan haritasını ortaya koyma amacı taşımaktadır. Bu doğrultuda çalışma, Türkiye’nin taraf olduğu deniz hukuku kapsamına giren problemlere dair tüm sorunsalları kapsayan ve Mavi Vatan Haritası bağlamında cevaplar yönelten bir Mavi Vatan Doktrini’dir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın tüm uluslararası ilişkiler öğrencilerine ve bu alana ilgi duyan herkese bir kılavuz olmasını diliyorum.

Description: This book, which we present to our dear readers, is special in two aspects. The first is that this book includes studies prepared by the academic members and assistants who continue their academic activities in various universities of our country, on the developments and applications in the fields of econometrics and its components, statistics, and operations research. The studies including current issues in the field of econometrics, which is a dynamic and advancing discipline, are a guide for academicians and postgraduate students who want to apply empirical analyses. Another feature of the book is that it is dedicated to our valuable teacher, Prof. Dr. Ahmet M. GÖKÇEN. He graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics in 1968, became a research assistant in the same faculty in 1972, an Associate Professor in 1982, and a Professor in the field of econometrics in 1988. He led the establishment of econometrics departments in our country and the inclusion of the econometrics course in the curricula of our Economics and Finance Departments, along with Prof. Dr. Ahmet KILIÇBAY. Prof. Dr. Ahmet M. GÖKÇEN has taught Quantitative Economics and Econometrics at the Faculty of Economics for many years and has numerous published articles. Along with being a faculty member, he has worked in various administrative levels at Istanbul University and government throughout his career. He served as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources between 1993–1996 and as the Minister Counselor of the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of State between 1986–1992. He served as a board member of Karadeniz Copper Enterprises (1989–1990), Ereğli Iron and Steel Factories (1989–1990), and HAVAŞ (1988–1998). Our professor, who served as the head of the Department of Econometrics of the Faculty of Economics for many years also took part in various boards of the Faculty of Economics during this period. Working at various administrative levels in Istanbul University, he has been the Director of the Computer Application and Research Center (1996–2007; 2009–2011) and Director of the Social Sciences Institute (2005–2007). Between 2009–2011, he served as the Vice Rector of Istanbul University and retired in 2011. Prof. Dr. Ahmet M. GÖKÇEN continues working as the Vice Rector of Rumeli University and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In addition to his academic support, he became a model in human relations for us with his kindness and style and will continue influence us in our memories.

Description: Yearbooks are the books that play an important role in increasing the social and cultural level of the Greek community in the provinces of the Ottoman society and are published annually. Its content usually includes social events, science, medicine, geography, history, interesting articles, useful information, anecdotes, stories, proverbs and religious texts with advices. This yearbook has been prepared as a resource for researchers studying the Karamanli language and the history of Nevşehir. The works written in Karamanli language are generally of religious content, though few in number. Therefore most valuable works to be examined to understand the social life of the period are yearbooks, due to such quality. This book, being the first of the two yearbooks issued for Nevşehir, has been prepared for the Turkish speaking Greek community living in Anatolia, in order to enable them to obtain information on the present, past and future, to keep the customs and traditions alive and to present general information. This work, prepared and compiled in 1912 and presented to its readers in 1913, has been translated into modern Turkish and submitted to all researchers, academicians and readers.

İçeriğinde genellikle toplumsal olaylar, ilim, fen, tıp, coğrafya, tarih, ilginç makaleler, faydalı bilgiler, fıkralar, öyküler, atasözleri ve öğüt içerikli dinsel metinler yer alır. Bu salname, Karamanlıca yazı dili ve Nevşehir tarihi üzerine çalışmalar yürüten araştırmacılara bir kaynak olarak hazırlanmıştır. Karamanlıca yazılı eserler, sayıca az olmakla birlikte genellikle dini içeriklidir. Bu niteliğinden dolayı, döneminin sosyal yaşamını anlamak için incelenecek en değerli eserler salnamelerdir. Nevşehir için çıkarılan iki salnameden ilki olan bu kitap, Anadolu’da yaşayan ve Türkçe konuşan Rum cemaatin içinde bulundukları zaman, geçmiş ve gelecek ile ilgili bilgiler edinmesi, örf ve adetlerin yaşatılması, genel bilgilerin sunulması amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. 1912 yılında hazırlanıp derlenen ve 1913 yılında okuyucusuyla buluşan bu eserin bu kitap aracılığıyla sunulan günümüz Türkçesine çevirisi; tüm araştırmacı, akademisyen ve okurlara sunulmuştur.

Description: This work, discussing the relationship between the city and the intellectual in the countryside through the example of Bursa, from a time section, is a source that can be considered as a reference book for researchers who are engaged in social sciences such as elite circulation theories, elite and intellectual concepts, political-cultural debates over space, social memory construction processes shaped by political imaginations, and historiography and readers who are interested in such fields. The author aimed to embody such concepts and theories by questioning the relationships between structures and actors in the aura of historical ground and time. Therefore, it is essential to emphasize that the title of the study submitted to the attention of the reader should not be considered as a reflection of time and space boundaries, of the minimalist and micro-historical view of the post-modern understanding, and that it is acted on a concrete plane with a structural-historical method. When considered from this point of view, the work at hand is brought to the attention of all social scientists, especially those who are involved in political culture, Turkish political life, political science, urbanization and architectural history.

Description: Research suggests that the tourism industry, known to affect over sixty sectors, is a major source of income in our country, as in many other countries. Its contribution to close the deficit in the balance of payments and to alleviate unemployment as it is a labour-intensive sector, demonstrates its importance. Moreover, while enabling foreign currency inflow for the country, the fact that it achieves this with minimal import, places the tourism sector in a truly “national and domestic” sector position. For this reason, it has been declared as a “strategic sector” by the Presidency. Having knowledge on which markets Turkey is specialized or not specialized, in comparison to competing countries and examining the areas where it has a competitive advantage or disadvantage is important in terms of policies and regulations to be implemented by the local and central administration bodies, as well as determining the strategies and management approach involving the future of the sector. Within this scope, the sectoral development of tourism and hotel management and new trends in Turkey are examined in this book and with the shift-share analysis among Mediterranean countries, dynamics are addressed. In the context of tourism, whether other countries and Turkey are specialized, in which country markets, has been examined. Besides constituting a resource for researchers studying tourism dynamics and trends, this book is intended to guide tourism policy and strategy developers and local administrations.
