Description: The book collects contributions from computer scientists, jurists, philosophers, and sociologists capable of photographing the multidisciplinary approach required to understand NFTs completely and is divided into two sections. The first is dedicated to introducing the IT concepts necessary to understand the functioning of NFTs and to delve into the market dynamics from a legal perspective, starting from the economic sustainability and the techniques used to influence prices. Specific ones, such as the possibility of giving the NFTs as collateral or implementing their requisition, are added to these aspects. The second section examines the nature and use of artistic and fashion NFTs and their possible use in the Metaverse. The section opens with a philosophical reflection on the evolution of the very concept of a work of art and an artist in light of the development of NFTs. Description: Kvotesystemet er det sentrale fiskeripolitiske virkemidlet for utnytting og fordeling av våre viltlevende marine fiskeressurser. Systemet består av flere deler eller reguleringssystemer som til sammen danner en rettslig ramme for tilgangen til å høste av og tjene på fellesskapets ressurser. Ved endringene av havressurslova og deltakerloven i 2021 har vi fått et nytt kvotesystem. I denne boken nøyer forfatteren seg ikke med å fremstille gjeldende fiskerilover og forskrifter i det nye kvotesystemet, men har en bredere tilnærming til temaet. Analysen gir blant annet leseren kunnskap om rettsfeltet slik dette er vokst frem over tid; status for endringer i virkemiddelbruken på rettsfeltet, særlig i kjølvannet av Stortingets behandling av kvotemeldingen, Meld. St. 32 (2018–2019), i 2020 og endring av kvotesystemet i 2021 ved lov 5. mars 2021 nr. 7; legitimitetsutfordringen på rettsfeltet med utgangspunkt i et rettferdighetskonsept; delegasjon av lovgivningsmyndighet; og rekkevidden av diskrimineringsforbud i norsk rett ved lukkinger av kystfiskeri.

Description: Norge beskrives gjerne som et land preget av små forskjeller mellom folk når det gjelder inntekt og levekår. Stemmer dette? Sammenliknet med en rekke andre land er beskrivelsen dekkende. Like fullt har vi ulikhet også her i landet, og på noen områder er den økende. Inntektsforskjellene har blitt større, deler av befolkningen sliter med å få seg en godt betalt jobb og levekårene varierer mellom grupper av befolkningen. I denne antologien retter vi blikket mot ulikhetens drivere og dilemmaer. Description: Nyskaping er eit omgrep vi møter i mange samanhengar, og det er gjerne tett kopla til omgrepet innovasjon. Oftast er nyskaping omtalt i positive lada ordelag og som noko vi ønskjer å få til meir av. Men kva inneber nyskaping? Antologien løfter opp nokre spørsmål som er med å tydeleggjere kva nyskaping er. Kva skil nyskaping frå innovasjon? Kva er tilsikta og utilsikta konsekvensar av nyskapingsprosessar? Og kva skal til for å lukkast?. Krav til nyskaping kjem også til UH-sektoren, og dei ulike bidraga i antologien drøftar kva rolle UH-sektoren kan ha i nyskapinga. Nokre av kapitla tar fatt på denne debatten på eit prinsipielt nivå, gjennom å diskutere det opp mot UH-sektoren si rolle og mandatet til institusjonar innan høgare utdanning og forsking. Andre kapittel, med empiri i all hovudsak forankra i «fjordregionen», gjev viktige praktiske døme på korleis slike nyskapingsprosessar utfoldar seg i praksis. Fleire av kapitla diskuterer i større grad nyskapingar – altså produktet snarare enn prosessen. Diskusjonane frå kapitla i denne antologien syner at omgrepet nyskaping er mangfaldig. Eit viktig funn er at nyskapingsomgrepet ser ut til å representere noko anna og lettare handgripeleg for mange av aktørane enn det meir etablerte innovasjonsomgrepet. Det mogleggjer nye former for samhandling og innsikt som også er relevant langt utover regionen døma tek utgangspunkt i.

The complex and multifaceted relationship between foster children and biological children in foster families creates many paradoxes and dilemmas. I discuss how challenges in foster care placement may impact on children in foster families, and the moral responsibility of the social workers for the well-being of these children. Recognition, from both parents and professionals, is crucial for how they cope with the difficulties.

Description: Det sies ofte at forskningens legitimitet og tillit i samfunnet er i krise, og som reaksjon på dette er forskningskommunikasjon blitt et stadig større tema i både offentlig og akademisk debatt. Fra ulike hold bes forskere om å kommunisere mer, bedre og mer tilgjengelig, og det florerer av råd om hvordan, hvor og når forskere bør kommunisere til og med allmenheten. Men hva mener vi med forskningskommunikasjon – og hva bør vi snakke om? Er historien om at folks tillit til forskning står i en historisk krise så enkel som den ofte blir fortalt? Og har vi egentlig det forskningsbaserte kunnskapsgrunnlaget vi trenger for å ha disse diskusjonene? Denne boken springer ut av et samarbeid mellom forskere fra ulike fagfelt som har jobbet med problemstillinger knyttet til forskningskommunikasjon og forskningens rolle i samfunnet over lengre tid. The approach adopted consists of an integrated methodology that sees the recipients adhere to a customized project, prepared together with the Social Services, the local Employment Centers and public and private entities active in the field of interventions to combat poverty and social exclusion. Description: Europe, as the title of this collective book indicates, is a project under construction and David Sassoli, who is honored here, one of its most striking and memorable builders. European construction, despite all the deviations and hesitations that distinguish every single genuine human situation, has been based on a set of values that represent our own identity, in the full recognition of all the differences that simultaneously nourish it. Culture has progressively played a major role in this lasting European undertaking. In this chapter, by honoring a man who hoped for a better spiritual condition for Europe, we reassess one of the main instruments for establishing a cultural path in Europe: the European Capital of Culture (ECOC) project. The record and the tone of the following pages is far beyond the usual scope of mere description. Guided by the inspiring example of Sassoli, we face up to suggest a set of measures that will allow the ECOC action to fully meet its purpose, thus contributing to make the cultural option in Europe truly irreversible.

Description: Eco-territorialist approach to spatial planning overcomes functional approaches assuming as key references man/nature co-evolution, the diverse components of living, the participation of inhabitants to territorial governance, the territorial context not as the object of planning choices but as a real living subject. The territorial context, a both existing and potential heritage for the settled community, is considered as a fundamental 'actant' in the ecological transition process. The reference to some important contributions for the ongoing redefinition of the theoretical methodological statute of the discipline substantiates the challenge of this alternative approach to planning.

Description: The paper draws from Sergio Caruso’s reflections that the ‘extension’ and ‘intensification’ of citizenship are inseparable from democracy. Within this framework, it questions how innovative formulations of democracy such as so-called ‘deliberative arenas’ can contribute to the strengthening of citizenship. Specific attention is devoted to the public debate on major works, a privileged field of inquiry for some assessments of the effectiveness of participation guaranteed by such instruments.

Description: The essay traces back the maturation of eco-territorialism starting from the late 1970s ‘rediscovery’ of the territory, coinciding with the crisis of the Fordist model, the rise of the diffuse factory and the beginning of globalisation processes. In the evolutions and involutions of such scenario up to the recent pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war, the advocates of eco-territorialism find reasons to challenge the unlimited urbanisation of space; to frame the question of dwelling as an unavoidable ethical-political problem; to overcome the reductionism of those who read the ecological crisis as a mere climate change or energy issue; to problematise and radically redefine the ideas of development and planning, reconnecting them to the self-sustainable reconstruction of material and immaterial relations between the inhabitants and the anthropic, ecosystem and bioregional complexity of places.

Presentando le principali teorie sociologiche che si sono occupate di questi due temi, e delle loro odierne manifestazioni, l’autrice propone una ricerca, condotta tra il 2015 e il 2018 in due campus degli Stati Uniti, con l’obiettivo di comprendere in che misura la condivisione di informazioni, relative a eventi criminali, mediante canali tecnologici (e-mail e social network), possa avere un impatto sulla percezione del rischio, sulla sorveglianza delle attività svolte nel campus e sulla modifica dei comportamenti degli studenti. L’invio delle notifiche è preceduto da un processo di selezione interna in cui viene deciso cosa comunicare o meno agli studenti. Sulla base di evidenze e argomentazioni, è emerso che non viene mai fatta menzione di alcuni reati – tra cui la violenza sessuale – nonostante siano i più diffusi all’interno dei campus americani.

In Norway and the other Nordic countries, the approach is used by researchers in a variety disciplines and professional fields. In Experiences with Institutional Ethnography, we gain insight into several different researchers’ motivation for, experiences with and reflections on delving into and using institutional ethnography in their own research. We gain insight into specific research processes and their attendant methodological approaches, into experiences of using key concepts from institutional ethnography, and into reflections on the researcher's role. This book will be a useful tool for researchers, master’s students and research fellows who utilize – or are considering utilizing – institutional ethnography in their work.

Description: In the face of the disproportionate “Greater Paris” operation and its unreasonable rhetoric, the “Biorégion Île-de-France 2050” vision tries to anticipate in project a trend already underway in things: namely, the disintegration of the colossal metropolitan agglomeration of Paris, collapsing on its fragile metabolic roots due to the increasing unsustainability of the long chains on which it has thrived. The aim is to convey this movement into a recomposition of the Capital's territory into eight bioregions, interconnected by synergetic, reticular and non-hierarchical relations in the name of local self-sustainability: the chapter describes this thought experiment that is also a concrete eco-territorialist proposal.

Attorno al concetto stesso di mix sociale ruotano vari interrogativi e possibili interpretazioni: cosa effettivamente rappresenti, come debba essere perseguito e quale sia l’ambito territoriale più adatto alla sua implementazione. Il testo si colloca all’interno del dibattito sul macro-tema del mix sociale e propone uno studio di caso che permette, attraverso la presentazione e la discussione dei risultati, di ampliare le conoscenze del settore, ma anche di fornire spunti di riflessione in termini di policy e di metodologia della ricerca sociale.

Description: This book, inspired by the thought of Giacomo Becattini, reflects on why local communities continue to exist and spread. Why does the planet not become one place without borders? Why instead do we humans preferentially group ourselves into communities that are neither 'too wide' nor 'too narrow'? What characterizes today's form of community? Why are these communities rooted in places? What is peculiarly 'local' about places? Together with Becattini, we answer that the foundation of local communities is social culture. In its material and symbolic dimensions, social culture animates various forms of proximity between people and between groups: in addition to territorial proximity, social proximity (also online) and institutional proximity matter a lot. This implies that today a local community is not only a place where social culture makes us physically close, but where at least some of the major forms of proximity intersect.

Description: The regeneration of metropolitan contexts and large planetary urbanizations can no longer be postponed. The use of more and more refined techniques and technologies using metaphor in nature has become increasingly conspicuous. For there to be a real turnaround, however, concepts such as 'biodiversity', 'biomimicry', and 'ecositemic services' need to find their proper design definition, apt to maintain the complexity of settlement forms together with the complexity of life. From a bioregional point of view, it seems useful to rethink the city as a complex node of the eco-territorial network to substantiate the concept of urban bioregion.

Description: In recent decades, deep transformations have been reshaping academia and the research environment. Reforms in funding structures, research assessment, and accountability procedures are still redesigning the practices in academic work, redefining research schedules, and determining relevant effects on scientific career paths. Despite European policies efforts towards the development of more responsible and inclusive research, the processes emerging from these transformations of academic contexts are producing new inequalities and strengthening old ones. New rules in the recruitment and career progression of researchers reduce, in some instances, and intensify, in others the pre-existing gender gaps, with varying impact on researchers, according to their belonging to different cohorts, gender or minority groups, and on universities, according to size and regional contexts. Adopting an intersectional perspective, contributions in this volume focus on gendering processes in Italian academia. Altogether, they succeed in accomplishing a double result: to unveil the gendered character of academic and research practices and to trace emergent paths towards their reshaping into more equitable and inclusive ones.

Le riforme delle strutture di finanziamento, della valutazione della ricerca e delle procedure di responsabilità stanno ancora ridisegnando le pratiche del lavoro accademico, ridefinendo i programmi di ricerca e determinando effetti rilevanti sui percorsi di carriera scientifica. Nonostante gli sforzi delle politiche europee verso lo sviluppo di una ricerca più responsabile ed inclusiva, i processi che emergono da queste trasformazioni dei contesti accademici stanno producendo nuove disuguaglianze e rafforzando quelle vecchie. Le nuove regole nel reclutamento e nella progressione di carriera dei ricercatori riducono, in alcuni casi, e intensificano, in altri, i divari di genere preesistenti, con un impatto variabile sui ricercatori, a seconda della loro appartenenza a diverse coorti, al genere o a gruppi minoritari, e sulle università, a seconda delle dimensioni e dei contesti regionali. Adottando una prospettiva intersezionale, i contributi di questo volume si concentrano sui processi di gendering nel mondo accademico italiano. Description: The spread of pandemics, war and the climate crisis has shown how close the unsustainability of the current development model, oblivious of places and their inhabitants, has now come to a point of no return; but at the same time it has made more transparent – as well as more urgent – the reasons for the eco-territorialist turn, centred on the conceptual and operational device of the urban bioregion. Delving into a discussion already underway, the essay describes such a tool by declining it along three analysis and design axes: the founding role of territorial heritage, the integrated and synergic activation of all the “constructive elements” of the production of space, and the self-government of the territory as a common good.

The drawing disciplines, providing aninterpretation of spatial syntax, become an interdisciplinary medium to observe with a new perspective the output data of the experimentation, this way incisively contributing to a field of research hitherto dominated only by medical, pedagogical, and technological disciplines. The interdisciplinary research methodologyintegrates the joint visions of multiple theoretical fields; in addition to the more specific one of drawing, alsothe ergonomic, pedagogical, museum sector and the neuroscience area. The author aims to fill some gaps,found in the investigated context, about human perceptual answers to the VR representation, shifting the focusof attention, from the technological aspects of the digital tool to the user. Tony Blair’s New Labour has used the concept of citizenship. It was an invention that did not have lasting success, but it certainly helped to make the concept very popular, beyond the boundaries of legal language.

Description: Both the labor movement and the church have played a large part in shaping modern Norwegian society. Relations between them were often strained - sometimes hostile - in the decades before the Second World War. During and after the war, many dreamed of making a fresh start, with the experiences of community and cooperation during the occupation as a basis. This book explores how these dreams turned out. Different ambitions for the good society came together, and fronts and lines of cooperation were established which have characterized Norwegian social life well into the 21st century. Many questions remained open in the 1940s and 1950s. How should the Labor Party, with a majority in the Parliament, deal with the state church in practice? Should it be given greater autonomy, or should it rather be used as a means of keeping people's erratic religious inclinations under some control? Could the church function as the conscience of the state? The Labor Party's welfare state project - was it something everyone had to cheer for, or did it also contain a worrisome totalitarian tendency? These questions have not been systematically investigated in full in the past, and this presentation is based on new source studies. The book covers a central part of recent Norwegian history, and is essential reading for anyone who wants to understand how religion has been treated politically and what role the Church of Norway plays in today's social life.

Marshall's citizenship scheme, that is thought to be inspired on both individual and universal basis concerning the citizenship rights set. The changing produced by neo-liberal ideologies and globalization pressures is moving citizenship in a commodification sense, where citizenship profiles and rights are mediated by market and profiles are more and more personal and particularistic. Specifically, the focus of this essay is on skilled citizenship and citizenship by investment formulas.

Description: The project of European unity has oscillated between dream and disillusion. Its future will depend on its ability to know how to think and interpret Europe’s Historical lessons, particularly since the end of the nineteenth-century, keeping in mind its remote cultural roots and the values of freedom and solidarity that survived the hecatombs it went through. Thus, increasingly seeking social justice, Europe will be able to come closer to the values that, in a broad sense, characterize its identity, not shutting upon itself, but rather opening to the world, without losing its autonomy and its inventiveness.

Description: Agroecology stems from the intelligence of territories; it is a contextualised process of active and participatory cultural, scientific, technological and social elaboration. It can provide a founding humus for eco-territorialism in very tangible terms: identifying alternatives to the current agri-food system, triggering strong change dynamics for ecosystem care, consolidating sustainable practices at different scales, from the cultivated field to the organic district – actions necessary to address the current climate, socio-economic, ecological, global health emergencies; as well as affirming ethical principles of individual and social responsibility, concerning the ways of relating to, respecting and caring for both the weak segments of human population, and the natural resources water, land, air, biodiversity. Agroecological approach, strongly systemic, can therefore contribute to the elaboration of sustainability policies aimed at regenerating of territories and landscapes.

La ragione principale di questi cambiamenti deve essere individuata nell’evoluzione inesorabile dei processi tecnologici che ha dato luogo a quella che viene solitamente definita come la quarta rivoluzione industriale. La diffusione della robotica, dell’automazione industriale, dell’intelligenza artificiale, delle piattaforme digitali sul web, delle applicazioni informatiche, delle stampanti 3D, delle nanotecnologie, degli algoritmi, dell’internet delle cose sta già producendo e sempre più continuerà a produrre un profondo cambiamento nella vita delle persone, nelle relazioni tra gli individui, nella società e, inevitabilmente, anche nel modo di lavorare. Non ci sono aspetti del diritto del lavoro che non siano coinvolti in questo processo di trasformazione: dalle relazioni sindacali alla qualificazione dei rapporti di lavoro, dalla salute e sicurezza del lavoratore alle forme di controllo del datore di lavoro. Description: The 'telluric' crises sweeping the world today at various levels – starting with the failure of the 'globalisation utopia' – have their origin in a worldwide ecological crisis that makes old development models unworkable. The emerging alternative is visible in the widespread diffusion of new territorial communities, which represent a challenge both to development models based on economic 'monoculture' and to the modern era vision of the community principle, seen as a remnant of the past doomed to disappear. Thousands of experiences of new communities are increasingly taking responsibility for a new world narrative (new territories ecologically built, principle of plurality, centrality of new social subjects and their relations, non-hierarchical forms of self-government, over-local ‘bioregional’ openness) which challenges the 19th-century opposition between 'community' and 'society': multi-actor, multidimensional and transcalar communities will be no less than the future society.

Based on the canonical biblical texts, the ethical perspective of David Maria Sassoli and in ideological discourses, José Saramago (re)reads the life of the murderous brother by a desacralizing bias, establishing a process of discursive reorganization of the Bible and, consequently, of Christianity – an ideology rooted in the social thought that the writer Portuguese intends to resolve. Our proposal is to probe such ethical assumptions questioned by the novel. Let us, through our reading, decommthe kaleidoscopic clash that the skilled narrator stages to present an ethical proposal in dialogue with renewing ideals of today's society.

Bearing in mind the history and memory of the continent, the roots of the Euroean culture and its long traditions of humanistic and scientific knowledge, he presents three axes of development - innovation, protection and dissemination - for a Europe that must be thought of as a project, dynamic, hopeful, young spirited and faithful to its humanist and democratic basis.

Description: The liberal democracies of the West are experiencing a process of slow but constant and apparently unstoppable degradation. The main thesis of this contribution is that the primary reason for this degradation must be identified in the jamming of the representative mechanism and in the incapacity of democratic politics to stage transparent, recognizable and realistic conflicts on significant dimensions of social life and to present ideas of different and probable futures. Pulverized by complexity and differences, society and the future have become unrepresentable. Saturation of the world and global interdependence, on the one hand, assembled identities, belongings without transcendence and individualization of meanings, on the other, produces a need for immediacy, for political and social disintermediation that is increasingly less compatible with the functioning of representative democracy and with its privileged if not exclusive incardination within the framework of the nation-state. The outcome is, therefore, that of a structural misalignment between configurations of subjectivity and institutional arrangements. Underlying the troubles of modern democracy is the increasingly evident gap between individuals as they really are (became) and individuals as they should be in order for political institutions to function adequately.

Description: The concept of urban bioregion provides an interpretive and design perspective to the critical vision of planetary urbanisation, pursuing the recovery of co-evolutionary relations between human settlement and the environment through the reconstruction both of the ‘urbanity’ of places in plural and multi-centred forms and of the relations between urban and rural life-worlds. The experience of the Apulia Regional Landscape Plan is presented as an attempt of policy and planning innovation aimed at supporting re-inhabiting practices consistent with the principles and forms of the urban bioregion. The Plan promotes projects and actions characterised by a multi-scalar dimension, which assume as key factors for a just and regenerative local development the re-establishment of co-evolutionary relationships between human settlement and the geo-environmental system, the mobilisation of local knowledge, and the shaping of a sense of belonging to places and inhabitants’ care practices.

Il volume propone un approfondimento sui percorsi biografici che hanno portato le “nuove generazioni italiane” ad accedere agli studi universitari. La decisione di proseguire gli studi dopo il diploma apre, infatti, a una serie di interrogativi relativi all’investimento formativo che sono qui affrontati, tramite un approccio quanti-qualitativo, con riferimento a uno specifico studio di caso: quello dell’Università di Bologna. Individuare gli aspetti caratterizzati da maggiori difficoltà apre la strada a una riflessione volta a fornire indicazioni concrete a supporto della pianificazione di politiche inclusive, un approccio indispensabile per evitare che le barriere già presenti possano trasformarsi in veri e propri vincoli strutturali.

Description: Eco-memory looks back at the territory along space and time, in the story of how natural systems co-evolve with human settlements in a critical intersection, each time rethought, among man, nature and territories; in order to give visibility and prospects to the many fragile, invisible landscapes that fell off the development axis along the ungoverned industrialisation of the last century. On the one hand, it crosses historiography in a declination of temporal measurement (from the long to the short and very short term) that cannot be subsumed under today’s temporal acceleration, wiping out the past to the point of making territories we live in unrecognisable to our very eyes. On the other, it refers to an anthropology focusing on the spatial dimension and aimed at proposing a revolution of the gaze so as to reread eco-territorial dynamics no longer from the centre (cluttered by the rubble of a systemic crisis) but from the margins, to express new modes of neo-communitarian self-government.

Description: Eco-territorialism focuses its proposal on the relationship between environmental issues and the territory. For sociology, this is a partly unprecedented challenge. Indeed, environmental sociology has never taken an explicit territorial posture, while territorial sociology has always considered the environment a physical extension that frames human actions. An eco-territorialist sociology, on the other hand, must focus on the logic of ecosystems interacting with society, looking at environmental crises place by place. In the chapter, three sociological perspectives are identified in order to recompose them in an eco-territorial key: Latour and Callon's Actor Network Theory, which reincorporates biophysical worlds and artefacts into agency; Ploeg's rural sociology, which looks at the co-evolution between social and ecological systems; Gough's eco-welfare, which points to a new welfare paradigm capable of sustaining itself outside of growth.

Ancak COVID-19 krizi ile birlikte bu ekonomik sistemin nasıl bir sonuç doğurduğuna hep birlikte şahit olduk. Dünyanın en büyük ekonomilerine sahip ülkelerin salgınla mücadelede ihtiyaç duyulan en temel koruma malzemelerini sağlamakta aciz duruma düşmesi, hastaları seçerek tedaviye almaları ve diğerlerini ölüme terk etmeleri, ölen insanlarını taşıyacak tabutları ve gömecek yerlerinin olmaması mevcut sistemlerin ne kadar insani olduğu sorununu somut bir şekilde ortaya çıkardı. Uluslararası rekabette en başarılı ülkeler, üstünlük sağlayan sektörlere ve üretime odaklanarak ekonomik gelişme stratejilerini bugüne kadar sürdürdüler. Ancak uzun tedarik zincirlerine ve küreselleşmeye dayalı bu yapı çökerken, katı sınırlar ve ulusal üretimlerle bu boşluğu doldurma arayışı ön plana çıktı. Ekonomiyle birlikte fonksiyonları zayıflayan, hizmet alan ve kapasitesi kısıtlanan devlet aygıtı ve yapısı, yaşanan salgınla birlikte büyük bir krizle karşı karşıya kaldı. COVID-19 salgınıyla birlikte ekonomik gelişmelere rağmen, sağlık hizmetlerinin ve tarımsal üretimin acil hallerde yarattığı etkilerinin insanlığı tehdit edecek boyutlara nasıl ulaştığını yaşayarak tecrübe ettik. Salgın ile birlikte tarımsal üretim başta olmak üzere temel ihtiyaçları karşılayacak üretimi yapabilmenin önemini bir kez daha anladık. Maske, solunum cihazı, ilaç ve aşı gibi halk sağlığı alanlarında üretim ve hizmetleri sunmanın ne kadar önemli olduğunun bilincine vardık. Üretimlerin stratejik öneminin dönemsel ve ihtiyaçlara göre değişebildiği gerçeğini bir kez daha yaşadık ve paramız olsa da bazı ürünleri ve hizmetleri satın alamayacağımızı gördük. Salgın, küresel düzeyde neredeyse hepimizi ruhsal, fiziksel ve sosyal açıdan eşitleyerek; sağlık, eğitim, gelir eşitsizliği, yoksulluk, işsizlik, göç, iklim krizi, temel insan ihtiyaçlarına erişim dahil her alanda yeni farkındalıklar oluşturdu. Salgın, bir yönüyle bencilliği besledi, dayanışmayı azalttı, yalnızlığa, biyolojik olduğu kadar psikolojik sorunlara ve bilgi kirliliğine yol açtı, ölüm korkusunu bireysel olmaktan çıkarıp, toplumsallaştırdı. Diğer yönüyle de dayanışma ihtiyacını artırdı ve ortak kader duygusunu güçlendirdi. Bu nedenle sosyal uyumu esas alan bir anlayışa olan ihtiyacımız daha fazla önem kazandı. Bundan dolayı toplumsal savrulmayı önleyecek ve panik yaşanmasına fırsat vermeyecek yapılanmaya ihtiyacımız arttı. 1980 sonrasında neoliberal rüzgârların etkisiyle yapılan özelleştirmelerle Türkiye’de de devlet nispeten küçültüldü, ekonomik ve sosyal sorunların yaşandığı bir dönemde küresel salgınla karşılaşıldı. Ancak genel sağlık sigortası, hastane sayısı, yatak kapasitesi gibi alanlarda sahip olduğumuz potansiyel ve kriz yönetme becerimiz sayesinde süreci nispeten daha iyi şartlarda geçirmekteyiz. Fakat bu gerçeğe rağmen ülkemizin de yeni şartlara adapte olmasını sağlayacak, krizi en az zararla atlatacak ve 21. yüzyılın ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacak yeniden yapılanmaya ihtiyacı artmaktadır. Ekonomik ve sosyal alanda yaşananlar yeni bir paradigma değişikliğine ihtiyaç olduğunu gösteriyor. Çünkü doyumsuzluğu ve obeziteyi besleyen sınırsız ihtiyaçlar algısı yerine, ihtiyaçların sınırlı olduğu ve isteklerin sınırlandırılabileceğini esas alan, bilgi hariç kaynakların sınırlı olduğu ilkesine dayalı yeni bir ekonomik düzeni inşa edecek bir paradigma değişikliğine yönelik beklenti artıyor. Kriz sürecini en az zararla atlatabilmek için hep birlikte dayanışma içinde mücadele ederek, küresel düzeyde yükselen işkollarını ve meslekleri esas alarak, endüstrileri ve iş piyasalarını yeniden yapılandırmak gerekiyor. Bu kitabın editörlüğünü üstelenen, yazar olarak katkıda bulunan ve hazırlanmasında görev alan fakültemizin çok kıymetli hocalarına bu vesileyle bir kez daha çok teşekkür ediyorum. 84 yıllık birikimimize uygun bir şekilde dünyada ve ülkemizde yaşanan ve yaşanacak sorunlara öğretim üyelerimiz kayıtsız kalmamış, var olan zor şartlara rağmen alternatifler üreterek, yol gösterici öngörülerde bulunmuşlardır. Description: Quality of life depends on a series of objective indicators and subjective evaluations of all the living spaces that affect human beings’ economic, social, physical, and psychological dimensions and has the potential to serve individual and social development. Ensuring satisfactory quality of life will bring about decent socio-economic conditions, such as in the conceptualization of decent work. Newly improved conditions will also bring higher quality, and policymakers and decision-makers at the institutional level have great responsibilities in this context. This book addresses quality of life and its related issues from an interdisciplinary perspective and discusses them at a conceptual and theoretical level. The book includes classifying the quality of life indicators by considering their individual, social, economic, and organizational context. The application section examines the quality of life of international students, a fragile population group who’ve experienced various disadvantages during the COVID-19 global health crisis. As a matter of fact, each international student provides human capital at the global level, and serves to construct an incorruptible and inexhaustible value in shaping a future that concerns all of humanity. This value will preserve its existence in all economic, social, cultural, and political fields and serve as the mortar in constructing the foundations for a better quality of life. This book has been prepared with this intention in order to address the issue of quality of life and to guide the decisions and practices regarding identifying the quality of life and problem areas of international students studying at Istanbul University in the context of COVID-19 restrictions.

The Foreword introduces innovative concepts and 'general' breakdowns relating to sexual criminal law. Chapter 1 then addresses a critical analysis of the current discipline, pursuant to articles 609-bis and following of the Criminal Code and the related case law. Chapter 2 tables an in-depth comparative analysis of the legislation governing sexual offences in Germany, Portugal, France and England, which is also extended to legal theory and practice. Chapter 3 then presents, complete with detailed commentary, an organic project of reform for Italian legislation, characterised by a total discontinuity with the current discipline, where the principal incriminations hinge upon the mere 'sexual dissent' of the victim, breaking down different types of sexually relevant behaviour that are at present all lumped in together in the melting-pot of "sexual assault" into three different offences, while also introducing other incisive innovations.

Description: Approximation of Turkish Law with European Union Law maintains its importance and actuality apart from the context of full membership goal as well. Global trade requires interplay between all world countries with regard to the development and formation of public and private law. Private law regulations in Continental Europe, that constitute models for Turkish law, have been developing under the influence of European Union Law. In any field of law, the authority of the European Union to intervene in national laws is limited to the competences provided by the Treaties. Therefore, acts of the European Union in the field of private law aims the improvement of the internal market and enhanced cooperation between the Member States both by harmonization of national laws and their implementation. Studies and proposals carried out by the European Union for the harmonization of laws should be/are closely followed by our country. Establishment of Customs Union between Turkey and European Union in 1995 with the 1/95 numbered Community Council Decision and initiation of accession negotiations in October 2005 have accelerated the harmonization process of Turkish law with the European Union law. In the heat of these events, it can be observed that the preamble of most of the main codifications and secondary regulations in the field of company law, banking and capital markets law, intellectual and commercial property law, competition law, consumer law and protection of personal data law; reflects the aim of approximation with European Union legislation. Turkey’s geographical location, parallelly the fact that majority of the states, which Turkey has economical, cultural and sociological relations with, are members of the European Union following the impact of European Union on the model laws of Turkish laws, including Swiss law which keep tab on European Union law, necessitates the harmonization of European Union law to remain on Turkish lawyers’ agenda in the future as well. Hence, this Book Project has been prepared by the first documentation center acknowledged by European Union’s competent publishing and distribution bodies, Istanbul University Faculty of Law European Law Application and Research Center, with the object of providing a source for publications and conferences of Turkish lawyers who are keen to work in this field. This Project is an academic study and reflects the evaluation of the authors on harmonization of Turkish law with European Union law and their opinions for the methodology for an approximation of Turkish legislation. Although it is not either an official report or an action plan, it has been prepared with the view of providing a reference to public authorities, especially Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for European Union Affairs and European Union harmonization offices in other relevant ministries. The preparation phase of this Project includes determination of the subdisciplines of Turkish private law, in which harmonization with European Union law, has been taken in regard. The specification of a certain topic is left to the authors. As a matter of course, it was not possible for us to cover all the subdisciplines of private law likewise to examine the entire European Union acquis in the included fields. Our perspective is to provide an insight into European law, its comparison with European Union law and evaluation of alignment. With this regard, every contributor examined the regulation which includes the most general rules on that topic. Although the examined regulations have been enacted on the legal basis of the Treaties, the relevant articles have been explained under the “Remarks” title. In this way, with the exception of topics under “Competition Law” chapter, only the masthead of the acts of European Union organs are shown under the “Legislation” title. Besides, all the examined European Union legislation and their legal basis are shown in the European Union legislation list and index at the end of this book. Subdisciplines of private law to be studied has been designated taking into account several factors, such as the necessity of reevaluation and updating with the current acquis, despite the fact that Turkey’s remarkable progress in the past according to the European Commission country reports; Ministry of European Union’s Action Plan covering the years of 2016-2019; 11th development plan of Turkish Presidency. Thus, the Project touches on Company Law, Financial Services, Consumer and Health Protection, Intellectual Property chapters which have been opened for negotiations, and Competition Policy chapter that has not yet been opened for negotiation alongside the Protection Of Personal Data which is not itself a negotiation chapter but concerns several chapters of negotiation. Regulations in the aforementioned fields have been analyzed under the Company Law, Banking and Capital Markets Law, Intellectual and Commercial Property Law, Competition Law, Consumer Law and Protection of Personal Data Law main titles. Within the scope of the Project, contributors were expected to prepare their work according to the following outline: I. Legislation A. European Union Legislation B. Turkish Legislation; II. Remarks A. European Union Law, B. Turkish Law; III. Assessments and Suggestions. By this means, the necessity of the readers to get conveniently informed solely on the European Union Law or Turkish law related to that subject is considered. Assessments and suggestions have been provided under a separate title with the view of improving on the perception of approximation with European Union which only focuses on the translation of legislation and relation of European Union law with Turkish law can be put forward in an integrated mindset. Under this title, the conclusions reached by evaluating Turkish law and European Union law have been placed in numerical order. In other respects, contributors were provided flexibility in terms of methodology to be used for their remarks and assessments and freedom to include the Turkish translation of the relevant European Union legislation and place article proposals for Turkish legislation. Editorial Board elaborated on determining the main subjects and, alongside the review of all studies with respect to the fundamental aim of this book, providing for systematical coherence thereof.

Avrupa Birliği organlarının herhangi bir hukuk alanında düzenleme yapma yetkisi kurucu anlaşmalarla üye devletlerin Birliğe bırakmış olduğu yetkiler ile sınırlıdır. Özel hukuk alanındaki Avrupa Birliği tasarrufları, temel olarak iç pazarın geliştirilmesi/ güçlendirilmesi ve tüm üye devletlerin hukuk düzenlemeleri ile uygulamalarının uyumlaştırılması hedefine yönelir. Description: The book aims to reconstruct, with a interdisciplinary approach in a comparative methodology, the evolution of Bolivian institutions, from independence to the present days, in the light of the indigenous element as a legal interpretative parameter. After a first denial and a forced assimilation, the indigenous element was integrated into the institutions until it became central to the construction of an alternative constitutionalism to the Western model. The dissertation outlines three Latin American constitutional cycles. For each constitutional cycle, the common lines and the differences with Western constitutionalism are analysed, referring to the importance attributed to the indigenous element, since to a detailed analysis of intercultural and multinational constitutionalism of the 2009 Bolivian constitution. The indigenous element is fundamental because it becomes a source of national law, thus giving rise to a plural juridical model that starts from the community, and the traditional and ancestral culture of the indigenous people. It also challenges the Western individual constitutionalism, only founded on the supremacy of human rights.

Dopo una prima negazione e un’assimilazione forzata, l’elemento indigeno è stato integrato nelle istituzioni fino a diventare centrale per la costruzione di un costituzionalismo alternativo al modello occidentale. La trattazione delinea tre cicli costituzionali latino-americani. Per ogni ciclo costituzionale, sono analizzate le linee comuni ai diversi Stati e le differenze con il costituzionalismo occidentale, in riferimento all’importanza attribuita all’elemento indigeno, fino ad un’analisi dettagliata del costituzionalismo interculturale e multinazionale della carta boliviana del 2009. In essa, l’elemento indigeno è fondamentale perché diventa fonte stessa del diritto nazionale, facendo sorgere, così, un modello giuridico plurale che parte dalla comunità, dalla tradizione e dalla cultura ancestrale degli indigeni e contesta il costituzionalismo individuale di matrice occidentale, fondato unicamente sulla supremazia dei diritti umani.

Description: The volume collects the proceedings of the conference “Università e Territorio. Il decentramento dell'Ateneo nella Provincia di Firenze (“University and Territory. The decentralisation of the University in the Province of Florence”), which was held in Florence on January 23, 2004. The conference saw a wide participation of interventions and public debate, and dealt with the issues concerning the decentralisation of educational and scientific activities in the municipalities of the Province of Florence, with particular reference to the university settlements of Calenzano, Scandicci, Sesto Fiorentino, Vaglia, Figline Valdarno, San Casciano Val di Pesa and the district Circondario Empolese Valdelsa. The conference was conceived as an occasion of meeting and dialogue between Mayors of the Province, local administrators and deans of university degree courses. It highlighted the multiplicity and differentiation of the activities as well as the complexity of the problems related to the development of study courses in the different social-economical realities of the municipalities of the Province of Florence.

Description: We have regretfully observed for many years that the academic community in Tur key, except in some limited areas, has failed to provide the necessary contribution about the issues that Turkey has had to deal with on international level, because the debates have been confined to superficial, oversimplified, and outdated ideological points of view in daily politics. However, the fundamental theses, discussions, and prospective guidance of politics, law, economics, and international relations would be much more lasting and effective once they are shaped by the robust data and theses of the academic community in Turkey. We hope that the book The Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean in the Global and Regional Balance Based on the Axes of Geography, History, and Interna tional Law drawn up in cooperation between the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Istanbul University can contribute to creating such a horizon and produce theses to this effect. No matter what topic of international relations one may address, it is impossible to understand and present it independently of other problems and topics. Therefore, we need to gain insight into all incidents and processes that affect and shape the Eastern Mediterranean, and within this framework put forward our projections on the future of Turkey, which is a common concern and asset for all of us. We currently observe manifestations of a biased perspective that is far from fair concerning the ongoing events in the Eastern Mediterranean. The initiatives of Turkey, seeking her rights arising from the international law and agreements since the very beginning through legitimate means and methods, have been encountered by some countries and so-called alliances, which disregard international law and agreements and consider all kinds of illegitimate actions as their rights. Undoubtedly, it is desirable to collaborate, make efforts, and negotiate with approaches in goodwill, respecting international law and agreements aiming at establishing peace as well as the rights, and laws of nations and states. However, it is impossible to take action before realizing and having others realize the following facts: Some countries, in the global order lacking justice established in the aftermath of the Second World War, had only rights and interests. Some others had only duties and responsibilities. This bizarre and unjust order lasted for years. However, the world has now changed and the parameters creating this unjust order have collapsed. We observe that it takes time for some countries to come to terms with this reality. Every state and nation, when it comes to the international order, shall have rights and interests as well as duties and responsibilities. Such a world where this just state of affairs prevails is not far away. This book offers a comprehensive perspective addressing the Eastern Mediterra nean issue within the context of not only history, law, and international relations but also geography, geopolitics, and biodiversity. I hope that the ideas, recommendations and outcomes offered in the book will pave the way for new perspectives to locate the Eastern Mediterranean in the blue shade of peace. I would like to thank Prof. Mahmut AK, the Rector of Istanbul University, for his leadership in the publication of the book as well as the academics contributing their articles. Bu gerçekliği bazı ülkelerin kabul etmekte geciktiğini görüyoruz. Uluslararası düzende her devletin, her milletin hak ve menfaatleri olduğu gibi, vazife ve yükümlülükleri de vardır. Bu adaletli tezin hakim olacağı bir dünya uzak değildir. Description: This volume examines the concept of ethnic domination and its manifestations in Israel (within the Green Line) and Estonia. Ethnic domination is a method of managing ethnic differences in multiethnic contexts through asymmetrical power relations, in accordance with an ethnonationalist ideology, whereby a group is subordinated to another holding the power, albeit not intent to directly eliminate the subaltern. The volume compares the predicament of Israeli Palestinian citizens and Estonian Russian-speakers in different dimensions (state-citizenship, government-parliament, parties). Also, the analysis explains the divergent trajectories of the cases: the tightening of the condition of Israeli Palestinian citizens and the democratization of ethnic politics in Estonia.

Description: This book examines legal and state theoretical ideas on the relationship between religion and state, and its significance for the politics of religion in Norway in the 19th century. The main sources are Norwegian and Danish literature on legal and state theory, including literature that interprets the Constitution’s provisions on religion. The analysis shows that constitutional and state philosophical theories on religion and state had significant impact on the development of the politics of religion in Norway.

Den er både en oppdatert lovkommentar som tar med hele grunnlovsrevisjonen i 2014, og en forklaring av Grunnloven slik den har vært, med dens bakgrunn, alle dens endringer og kontinuiteten fra 17. mai 1814 til utgangen av 2020. Alle gjeldende grunnlovsbestemmelser blir utførlig kommentert og tilsvarende for alle tidligere bestemmelser som nå er opphevet. Kommentarene er skrevet av i alt 49 spesialistforfattere, de fleste jurister og noen historikere. Grunnlovsparagrafene blir satt inn i ulike sammenhenger, både idehistoriske og politiske, med hverandre og med internasjonale forpliktelser, rettspraksis og lovgivning. Redaktørene har i tillegg skrevet innledning til verket. Boka er uunnværlig for alle som arbeider med statsrettslige spørsmål, både i Storting og styringsverk, i domstolene og på advokatkontorer, og for studenter så vel som for historisk og politisk interesserte. Redaktørene er begge professorer ved Det juridiske f akultet ved Universitetet i Oslo og stod sentralt i forsk-ningen knyttet til Grunnlovens 200-årsjubileum i 2014.

Description: The issues that are addressed the most are the problems faced by population groups that stand out for the future of the countries in economic, social, and political terms and young people, who are the driving force of social development. Among these problems, the unemployment of young people is undoubtedly the first issue that comes to mind. Socioeconomic difficulties and risks faced by young people have a significant and negative effect on both individuals and social development and exacerbate concerns about the future of a country. However, in recent years, “young people who are not in education, employment, or training” (NEET), which is related to phenomena such as youth unemployment and other more complex phenomena, is one of the topics that developed countries have focused on. The category of NEET includes young people who are described as being offended or discouraged in the literature as well as individuals who are economically inactive and do not participate in education for mostly “involuntary” reasons, such as illness, disability, and being responsible for providing care and household chores. Therefore, the concept refers to a significant portion of the population that has not received any education or participated in child rearing in the last four weeks and is also not employed. These intersections between the unemployed and those who are not included in the labor force and are not continuing their education comes to the fore in terms of the effectiveness and sustainability of labor market policies. It has been determined that there is a need to conduct a profile analysis of NEET youth and conduct research to determine the causes and effects of their NEET status. Statistics regarding NEET youth are announced every year by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the European Statistical Institute. In this context, the General Directorate of Educational Research and Coordination of the Ministry of Youth and Sports conducted a “Profile Research of Young People Not in Education and Employment” under the management of academics at Istanbul University who specialize in this field. This is the first comprehensive study to examine the causes and effects of young people being NEET status in Turkey aged 15–29. The field work for this study was carried out between September 7, 2020 and December 12, 2020, and the most important aspect of the research is the development of the scales of causes and effects of being NEET with proven validity and reliability. Despite the risks presented by the global COVID-19 epidemic, I would like to thank the officials of the General Directorate of Education, Research, and Coordination and the academics at Istanbul University, who have exemplary a cooperated to define the risks and develop solution proposals.

Gençlerin karşılaştıkları sosyo-ekonomik zorluklar ve riskler hem bireysel hem de toplumsal gelişimi önemli oranda olumsuz etkilemekte ve bir ülkenin geleceğine yönelik endişeleri artırmaktadır. Bununla birlikte son yıllarda özellikle gelişmiş ülkelerin dikkatini üzerinde yoğunlaştırdığı konuların başında genç işsizliği kadar önemli fakat ondan daha derin ve karmaşık bir bağlamı içeren “ne eğitimde, ne istihdamda ne de yetiştirmede olan gençler (NEİY)” gelmektedir. NEİY kavramı, literatürde gücendirilmiş veya cesareti kırılmış olarak ifade edilen gençlerin yanı sıra hastalık, engellilik, bakım sorumluluğu ve ev işlerine katılma gibi çoğu “istem dışı” nedenlerle ekonomik olarak aktif olmayan ve eğitime katılmayan bireyleri de içermektedir. Dolayısıyla kavram, son dört hafta içerisinde herhangi bir eğitim veya yetiştirme sürecine katılmamış ve aynı zamanda istihdamda bulunmayan önemli bir nüfusa işaret etmektedir. Hem işsizlerin hem de işgücüne dahil olmayanların içerisinde eğitime devam etmeyen bu kesişim kümesi, emek piyasası politikalarının etkinliği ve sürdürülebilirliği açısından ön plana çıkmaktadır. Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK) ve Avrupa İstatistik Kurumu (EUROSTAT) tarafından her yıl istatistikleri de açıklanan NEİY gençler ile ilgili profil analizi yapılması NEİY statüsünde olmalarının nedenleri ve etkilerinin belirlenmesine yönelik bir araştırma yürütülmesi ihtiyacı tespit edilmiştir. Bu kapsamda T.C. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı Eğitim Araştırma ve Koordinasyon Genel Müdürlüğünce, İstanbul Üniversitesi’nin ilgili alanda uzman akademisyenlerinin yürütücülüğünde “Eğitim ve İstihdam Dışı Gençler Profil Araştırması” gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elinizdeki bu eser, Türkiye’de “ne eğitimde ne istihdamda ne de yetiştirmede (NEİY)” olan 15-29 yaş grubundaki gençlerin NEİY olmalarının nedenleri ve etkilerini inceleyen ilk kapsamlı çalışma niteliğindedir. 07.09.2020 - 31.12.2020 tarihleri arasında saha çalışmaları gerçekleşen bu araştırmanın en önemli yönü, geçerlik ve güvenirliği ispatlanmış NEİY olmanın nedenleri ve etkileri ölçeklerinin geliştirilmiş olmasıdır. Covid-19 küresel salgının risklerine rağmen NEİY gençlerin ülke gündemine taşınması, konuya ilişkin risklerin tespit edilerek çözüm önerilerinin geliştirilmesine yönelik örnek bir işbirliği geliştiren Eğitim Araştırma ve Koordinasyon Genel Müdürlüğü yetkililerimize ve İstanbul Üniversitesi akademisyenlerine teşekkürlerimi sunuyorum.

Description: The book is part of the multidisciplinary research project Languages ​​of notarial mediation from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age (LIMEN) of the University of Milan. It collects the point of view of jurists: it is a journey through time, which ranges from the origins of the notarial function to the exercise of it in our time. The book highlights the evolution of the role of the notary in different ages and cultural contexts, a role which has always guaranteed trust and impartiality in the drafting and conservation of legal documents. The collection offers a 'evolving' representation of the tasks of notaries, starting from the assumption that the recovery of historical, legal and cultural roots can provide a key for the understanding of today's profession as well as some points of reflection for the future.

Si coglie, così, la varietà delle risposte che, in contesti cronologici e culturali variabili, mettono al centro un soggetto, il notaio, che dia garanzie di affidamento e di terzietà nella redazione e nella conservazione degli atti giuridici. Description: Aud Korbøl’s «The critical phase. Immigration to Norway from Pakistan» from 1973 is a pioneering work in Norwegian migration research and was published for the first time in book form in 2018. The analyses are based on statistical material and extensive fieldwork among the first Pakistani labour migrants who came to Norway in the early 1970s. The book gives an insight into the Norwegian society at the time, the Pakistani society in which the labour migrants left, the struggle to find work and housing, and how the Pakistani family and kinship system influenced the migrants’ adaptation process in Norway. The title alludes to the fact that the period Korbøl describes was a critical phase for the Norwegian authorities, for the Pakistani migrant workers, and for Korbøl herself. Yet, the title also suggests that movement across national borders has costs for individuals' personal, social, and cultural identities. The critical phase is thus an inextricable feature of the migration process and just as relevant today.

When handling a call, the staff must make assessments and important decisions based on limited information and often under time pressure: Which calls should become patrol work, and which should not?This book is a study of the work of police control rooms. It is based on extensive ethnographic fieldwork, and explores the field based on perspectives from actor-network theory, critical security studies, police science, and criminology. The book looks at the conditions for, significance of, and dilemmas in the control room's work, and further explores categorization practices, information processing, goal management, the relationship between the control room and the patrols, professionalization, and emergency preparedness work.The book’s analysis has implications not only for control rooms, but also for our understanding of the operational police work as a whole and for the conditions and significance of this work.

The first section describes activities to support the most fragile: such as the attempt to restore an identity to the victims of the Mediterranean Sea; the outpatient clinic built for the children from the slums of Nairobi; and the project to help the inmates who want to graduate from prison. In the second section, projects dedicated to sustainability find space: such as the University of the Mountain in Edolo or the Milan University's own strategies to reduce the environmental impact of its activities. Kommunale helse- og omsorgstjenester har i en årrekke vært et underprioritert kunnskapsfelt, samtidig som tjenestene pålegges stadig flere og mer komplekse arbeidsoppgaver som stiller store krav til samhandling og kunnskapsgrunnlag. Boka retter søkelyset mot disse utfordringene og presenterer resultatene fra ny forskning på hvordan kommunale helse- og omsorgstjenester fungerer, og hvor utfordringene ligger og vil ligge i årene framover. Description: This work provides the legal framework in which the Venetian book trade operated in the years 1527-1565. The repertoire documents the systematic use that authors and printers made of the privileges system to ensure exclusivity in the economic exploitation of a work and thus protect their work and investments. The archival and bibliographic sources collected in this volume testify to the entrepreneurial strategies implemented by authors and printers to innovate and diversify publishing production in order to create products capable of competing on foreign markets. The repertoire also traces the role of the Venetian State in promoting and protecting the local book industry in a context characterized by constant historical and political changes.

Le fonti archivistiche e bibliografiche raccolte in questo volume testimoniano le strategie imprenditoriali messe in atto da autori e stampatori per innovare e diversificare la produzione editoriale allo scopo di creare prodotti capaci di competere sui mercati esteri. Il repertorio traccia inoltre il ruolo dello Stato veneziano nel promuovere e proteggere l’industria libraria locale in un contesto caratterizzato da continui cambiamenti storici e politici.

Description: Although there had long been pressing demands to limit international migration, the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 marked an emblematic turning point in national border policies. The new century ushered in renewed efforts by national governments, and hence European policymakers, to re-instate stricter controls on trans-border mobility, even at the cost of violating international agreements and compromising commitments to the protection of human rights. The theme of borders has also been a domain of inquiry for academia and the scientific community. Various scientific disciplines have pooled resources and initiated dialogue with the larger society on issues such as boundaries, migrations, and human rights. This volume is the fruit of an initiative by the UNIMI Migration and Human Rights Research Centre and offers the thoughts and insights of a number of authors, contributing a range of disciplinary perspectives to bear on this critical issue of our times.

Il nuovo secolo si è aperto sotto il segno della riaffermazione della volontà dei governi nazionali, e di riflesso delle istituzioni europee, di ripristinare un più stretto controllo sulla mobilità transfrontaliera, anche a costo di sottrarsi agli obblighi sanciti dalle convenzioni internazionali e di compromettere il proprio impegno per la tutela dei diritti umani. Il tema dei confini interroga anche il mondo accademico e il dibattito scientifico.  Intorno ai nessi tra confini, migrazioni e diritti umani, varie discipline scientifiche si confrontano ed entrano in dialogo con la società.  In questa chiave, il presente volume, frutto dell’iniziativa del CRC “Migrazioni e diritti umani” dell’università degli studi di Milano, intende proporre una riflessione a più voci, da diverse prospettive disciplinari, intorno a una questione così cruciale per il nostro tempo.

The text re-draws the paradigm of the continuing teacher professional development by integrating the capability approach with the models of competencies. Starting from the analysis of European policies on teacher education, the text carry out an experimental research into pre-school settings to explore the importance of individual choice: throught the creation of innovative research tools and a self-training methodology, pre-school teachers involved improved their self-determine agency and better qualified professional development.
