    Description: Trained in ethnoarchaeology in New Guinea, the authors offer an original reading of the historical trajectory of the first farming communities between 5300 and 2400 BC, where the micro-regions - here the Jura and the Saône plains - were deeply integrated into complex networks for the circulation of sign objects and ideas.     Description: In addition to a discussion that seems to be in fashion, the purpose of this book is to contribute, in fact, to the reflections and practices that streamline and move the school environment. When one intends to articulate ethics, training, interculturality and decoloniality to think about education, he wants to dialogue not only with the researchers of the themes dealt with here, but above all to reach the school and classroom environment. It is in these places that, effectively, emerge challenging situations that, more often than not, people have difficulties in understanding, recognizing and building solutions. Always resorting to more of the same, what usually happens is a superficial and shallow look at the concerns and dramas that generate these challenges, problems and conflicts. That type of teacher training, which predominates in teacher training courses, seems to ask for a new meaning and meaning, as it is no longer able to respond and meet the demands and expectations of school training. Perhaps it is necessary to go beyond an education guided only by reason or by an idea or ideal of being human, but to take the reflections of classic and contemporary authors in order to enable us to include the ethical and aesthetic dimension in order to contribute to the construction of a process pedagogical approach that has freedom and human autonomy as its starting point and telos. The classroom is more than a place where knowledge is merely transmitted, but a space for coexistence, joy, exchange of affection and knowledge. We know that the people who are there carry passions, drives, feelings and a history that needs to be valued and taken into account.

    Description: Para além de uma discussão que parece estar na moda, a proposta desse livro é contribuir, de fato, para as reflexões e práticas que dinamizam e movimentam o ambiente escolar. Quando se pretende articular ética, formação, interculturalidade e decolonialidade para pensar as coisas da educação, ele quer dialogar não apenas com os pesquisadores das temáticas aqui tratadas, mas sobretudo chegar ao ambiente da escola e da sala de aula. São nesses lugares que, efetivamente, emergem situações desafiadoras que, no mais das vezes, as pessoas têm dificuldades em compreender, reconhecer e construir soluções. Sempre recorrendo ao mais do mesmo, o que geralmente acontece é um olhar superficial e raso às inquietações e dramas geradores desses desafios, problemas e conflitos. Aquele tipo de formação de professores, que predomina nos cursos de licenciatura, parece pedir um novo significado e sentido, pois não está mais dando conta de responder e atender às exigências e às expectativas da formação escolar. Talvez seja necessário irmos além de uma educação pautada somente pela razão ou por uma ideia ou ideal de ser humano, mas tomar as reflexões de autores clássicos e contemporâneos de maneira a nos possibilitar incluir a dimensão ética e estética no sentido contribuir na construção de um processo pedagógico que tenha como ponto de partida e como telos a liberdade e a autonomia humana. A sala de aula é mais do que um lugar onde meramente se transmite conhecimento, mas um espaço de convivência, de alegria, de trocas de afetos e saberes. Sabemos que as pessoas que aí se encontram são portadoras de paixões, de pulsões, de sentimentos e de uma história que precisa ser valorizada e levada em consideração.

    Description: La littérature antique classique dans les bibliothèques : tel est l’intérêt partagé qui réunit dans cet ouvrage littéraires, historiens du livre et chercheurs d’horizons divers pour confronter leurs regards et leurs méthodes. Avec l’Antiquité classique, c’est une tradition qui est donnée à examiner une tradition fondatrice des études littéraires, mais surtout d’un système d’éducation et de pensée, qui à certains moments se confond avec la culture elle-même : l’intense renouvellement qu’elle permet, et son lent et progressif affaiblissement à la fin de l’Âge classique méritaient d’être pris dans le temps long, du xve au xixe siècle. A strategic project that plans to reactivate the covered section of the Naviglio Martesana and the Cerchia Interna, reuniting Adda and Ticino rivers, and give new life to the great Renaissance project that Leonardo himself had worked on. In its methodological approach and in the specific outcome achieved, we can recognize elements of continuity with Leonardo’s thinking and contribute to a territorialist reflection on its current relevance.

To this end, he searched the archives of the Organizing Committee of the Historical Records of the City Council and of the City of Marília/SP and of the Library "Councilman Rangel Pietraróia", custodians of documents, dissertations, theses, books, newspapers, audiovisual material, among others, which has the city of Marília/SP as its main theme. She elaborated 295 references of texts on education, hard work that will certainly guide and subsidize other researches in the area. It also provides an overview of the city's history and how school education has developed, with the press as an important vehicle in this development, opening spaces for various publications, including texts by students.

    Description: In publishing this book, an early version of which was first published under the auspices of the Academy of Athens, the French School at Athens highlights the research work of Aspasia Louvi-Kizi, an eminent specialist in the Frank and Byzantine Peloponnese, whose work reveals all of the complexity of the architectural forms, influences and models at work in the monuments of the medieval Byzantine city of Mystras. Out of all of the architecture created by the despotic couple formed by Manuel Cantacuzène (1349-1380) and his wife Isabelle de Lusignan, who were instrumental in turning Mystras into a centre of power, Aspasia Louvi-Kizi focuses on two of the city’s most iconic monuments, the monasteries of Peribleptos and Pantanassa, proposing a new history of their construction. Their architecture incorporates elements of Frank art, meaning western or gothic art, which were foreign to the local Byzantine tradition. The gothic aspect of Mystras’ architecture, as distinct from the Franco-Byzantine influences in the neighbouring crusader principality of Achaea, has more to do with Western art in Cyprus, and its introduction by Isabelle to the Peloponnese was to prove decisive. The Western elements that decorate the facades of clocks and towers, combined with the Byzantine features to constitute a concrete expression of the despotic couple’s pro-Western politics, in line with the imperial politics of Constantinople at the time. In the fragmented and multipolar world of the Eastern Mediterranean on the eve of the Ottoman conquest, this book highlights the role Mystras played as a centre of power in the region and, in doing so, contributes to a fresh take on the city as a whole. By continuing the international conversation about a renowned site, the French School at Athens shows its commitment to a multi-layered approach that reveals the complexity of the interactions at work in the history of the Greek world in transition.

    Description: Besides identifying plants used by men, charcoal analysis may also reconstruct the history of forests, based on the study of charcoal from domestic uses. The reliability of this discipline depends on the definition of rigourous methods, from the archaeological dig to the palaeoenvironmental interpretation, which is the subject of the tint part of this work.In part two, thirteen languedocian sites dating from the end of Prehistory to Antiquity are studied following this method. In the Languedoc region, the early balance between the mediterranean oak forest and human activities leads us to review the history of deforestation. It is only in the lion Age that permanent tree clearance on plains increases, maintained during the roman period, announcing perhaps the first permanent fields. The results of this study, combined with documentary sources, constitute a first synthesis on territory changes.

    Description: Bien éclairée par les cartulaires ecclésiastiques à partir des années 1070-1080, la société du Bordelais offre une organisation des pouvoirs particulière. Cette étude montre que la figure ducale, habituellement minorée par l’historiographie, peut être réévaluée. À la tête d’un domaine dont l’emprise territoriale est reconstituée, dominant un tissu seigneurial marqué par des seigneuries locales et des seigneuries châtelaines ne lui portant pas ombrage, le duc d’Aquitaine reste dans cette partie de la Gascogne, en dépit de ses absences, une figure majeure. La paysannerie libre y est importante. Le mariage d’Aliénor d’Aquitaine et d’Henri II Plantagenêt change la donne (1152). Dans les décennies qui suivent, le roi d’Angleterre et son fils, Richard Cœur de Lion, engagés dans de fréquents conflits, imposent un renforcement de leur autorité par l’introduction de nouvelles coutumes féodales, le relèvement de la fiscalité et par le biais de la paix du roi. Les liens sont renforcés avec l’aristocratie, nettement militarisée, ainsi qu’avec les communautés, requises au service militaire ou associées à la perception des revenus publics. Les années 1180 marquent l’acmé de ce premier temps du roi-duc.

    Description: In agriculture, nitrogen is a major component of plant production. However, its nitric form (very soluble in water) presents a major risk in the soil for aquifers, the environment (eutrophication) and drinking water production. Measurements of mineral nitrogen residue in the soil of cultivated plots have been carried out in autumn for sometimes more than twenty years in various regions of France and Belgium. This residue is called (sometimes with some nuances) Potentially Leachable Nitrogen (PLN), Winter Entry Residue (WIN) or Drainage Start Residue (DSR). These three terms illustrate both the measurement period (early winter) and the process involved (leaching). These measurements are carried out for different, often complementary, purposes: - understanding the determinants of water quality and developing models - understanding the links between RDD and agricultural practices, - encourage changes in agriculture, - raising farmers' awareness of water quality and its determinants, - supporting farmers to obtain quality water, - monitoring the evolution of water quality, - evaluate farmers' practices in regulatory actions, - remunerate farmers based on water quality objectives to be achieved. From 31 May to 3 June 2022, twenty-one users (French and Belgian) of this soil nitrogen residue measurement shared their experiences during a seminar organised in Peyresq. These exchanges enabled each of them to deepen their understanding of their work with a view to disseminating it to new users through this book.

En agriculture, l’azote est un élément majeur de production végétale. Cependant, sa forme nitrique (très soluble dans l’eau) présente dans le sol un risque important pour les aquifères, l’environnement (eutrophisation) et la production d’eau potable. Des mesures de reliquat d’azote minéral dans le sol de parcelles cultivées sont réalisées en automne depuis parfois plus de vingt ans dans diverses régions de France et de Belgique. Ce reliquat est nommé (avec parfois quelques nuances) Azote Potentiellement Lessivable (APL), Reliquat Entrée Hiver (REH) ou Reliquat Début Drainage (RDD). Ces trois termes illustrent tant la période de mesure (début d’hiver) que le processus en jeu (lixiviation). Ces mesures sont réalisées pour différents usages, souvent complémentaires : - compréhension des déterminants de la qualité de l’eau et développement de modèles, - compréhension des liens entre RDD et pratiques agricoles, - animation des territoires pour faire évoluer l’agriculture, - sensibilisation des agriculteurs à la qualité de l’eau et ses déterminants, - accompagnement des agriculteurs pour obtenir de l’eau de qualité, - suivi de l’évolution de la qualité de l’eau, - évaluation des pratiques des agriculteurs dans des actions réglementaires - rémunération des agriculteurs à partir d’objectifs de qualité de l’eau à atteindre. Du 31 mai au 3 juin 2022, vingt et un utilisateurs (français et belges) de cette mesure du reliquat azoté dans le sol ont partagé leurs expériences au cours d’un séminaire organisé à Peyresq. Ces échanges ont permis à chacun d’approfondir son regard sur ses travaux en vue d’une diffusion, au travers de cet ouvrage, à de nouveaux utilisateurs.

    Description: La Fontaine affiche nettement sa filiation à l’égard de Marot. Du moins à l’égard d’un Marot. Comme beaucoup d’auteurs de son époque, il voit en effet dans le poète de L’Adolescence clémentine l’efflorescence printanière d’un style proprement français, qui allie au piquant et au brio la naïveté toute vernale d’une écriture. L’auteur des Fables et des Contes admire ainsi le brillant faiseur d’épigrammes. Il y reconnaît « le génie fran­çais », son ingenium, son naturel. Ce naturel s’exprime à la fois dans un esprit gaulois – que Rabelais radicalise trop pour qu’on puisse en faire un allié de marque – et une écriture transparente, non savante, à l’opposé de l’artificieuse et docte poésie de la Pléiade rejetée par le XVIIe siècle comme un accident regrettable dans l’histoire des formes. Cet « élégant badinage », assigné depuis Boileau à Marot, a pu nuire à l’œuvre de ce dernier en en restreignant la portée. La critique moderne a, par contraste, reconnu dans le poète de Cahors un esprit secret, anxieux, au cœur des débats évangéliques du premier XVIe siècle. Le vrai Marot est sûrement à rechercher au carrefour de ces deux interprétations extrêmes ; comme La Fontaine, au demeurant, que l’on ne peut réduire au modèle achevé de l’esthétique galante. La relation qui unit Marot et La Fontaine est bien en tout cas au départ une relation d’ordre formel. Aussi les chercheurs réunis ici ont tous tenté de repenser ou de repréciser les lectures stylistiques de l’un ou l’autre de ces auteurs à travers leur interprétation de L’Adolescence clémentine ou des Amours de Psyché et de Cupidon. La diversité des points de vue adoptés permet d’aider à définir ce qui reste en dernier lieu le plus difficile à caractériser, ce naturel du style, si revêche à l’analyse littéraire.

    Description: Apprendre avec des images et du son : depuis longtemps déjà le cinéma, puis la vidéo et le multimédia, ont investi l’enseignement. Le développement de ces pratiques suit un parcours complexe qu’infléchissent de nombreux facteurs : innovations techniques, histoire du cinéma, évolution des savoirs et de leur didactique, décisions politiques et passions individuelles... Dans ce domaine, le travail des pionniers est parfois méconnu, sinon oublié, et l’accumulation des savoirs et des expériences se fait difficilement. L’histoire des fonds d’archives de films pédagogiques et scientifiques, qui datent quasiment des débuts du cinéma, l’histoire des personnes et des institutions, à l’origine de ces productions d’images et de sons, restent à écrire. Parallèlement, on constate un intérêt grandissant pour les images et les films d’archives. Des cinémathèques spécialisées s’organisent et se développent, leurs fonds intéressent les producteurs et les diffuseurs de films ainsi que les chercheurs. Réfléchir sur ce que nous apprennent les documents anciens, prendre en compte la richesse des fonds d’archives filmées, dans les domaines scientifique et pédagogique, s’interroger sur les usages actuels et futurs, les raisons des oublis et les enjeux de la mémoire, tel est l’enjeu de ce recueil.

Cependant, les vauderies survenues à Lyon et Arras au XVe siècle comme les cas de possession du XVIIe siècle sont autant de témoignages de la présence de la sorcellerie dans les villes européennes. Les études de cas et les essais comparatifs réunis dans ce volume montrent qu'en dépit de la diversité des sociétés urbaines, la sorcellerie apparaît comme un révélateur des enjeux de pouvoir qui traversent les villes modernes.Dans sa postface, Carlo Ginzburg insiste sur la portée d'une approche comparatiste, toujours attentive aux écarts à la norme, et souligne l'importance d’aborder les procès de sorcellerie comme une manifestation particulière des tensions sociales et culturelles.

    Description: The article analyses the morphological means used by the Slovenian dialects of Friuli in adapting loan verbs to their aspectual system in comparison to the traditional means of expressing verbal aspect in the indigenous Slavic lexicon. In relation to verbs of Slavic origin, the formation of aspectual pairs was mainly realised by means of prefixation to the base verb (thereby perfectivising it), whereas with loans from the adjacent Romance varieties (Friulian, Italian, Venetian) suffixation proves more productive (yielding imperfectivisation). The analysis is carried out on the dialect of Resia as well as those from the Torre and Natisone Valleys. Despite some differences, in all three dialects there is generally a strong tendency to integrate loan verbs into the aspectual systems of these varieties. Biaspectual verbs, on the other hand, are relatively rare except for the particular case of the verbs in -inat in Resian.

    Description: Au début du siècle dernier, le sultan du Maroc vient de signer un traité qui place désormais son pays sous le protectorat de la France (30 mars 1912). À l’ombre du maréchal Lyautey, un sultan de substitution, totalement soumis aux nouveaux maîtres français, a été proclamé. Cependant, nombreux sont ceux qui, au Maroc, refusent le fait accompli et se révoltent face à la mainmise étrangère sur le pays. Ainsi, dans le Sud marocain, Moulay Ahmed el Hiba, fils d’un marabout ouest-saharien (Ma el Aïnin), se fait proclamer sultan du Jihad en 1912 ; une première fois à Tiznit, la seconde à Marrakech. Ces événements ont donné naissance à un mouvement qui pendant plus de vingt ans (1912-1934) symbolisera pour ces populations berbères et ouest-sahariennes la résistance à l’avancée inéluctable des troupes coloniales françaises et espagnoles. Fondée sur une analyse croisée d’archives inédites, aussi bien françaises que marocaines, l’auteur fait la lumière sur un événement fondateur de la conquête coloniale du Maroc. Mythifiée, récupérée ou occultée, la figure fondatrice du mouvement hibiste est encore aujourd’hui le sujet d’un conflit mémoriel ayant pour objet l’Ouest saharien.

    Description: No campo da Documentação na Espanha, a Semiótica tem sido uma fonte de articulação conceitual e constitui-se uma proposição teórica relevante. Os trabalhos de teor semiótico aplicados à Documentação, iniciaram-se na década de 1980. Desde então, tem-se considerado os processos documentais como atividades semióticas por excelência, pois supõem a manipulação, a tradução, a conversão, a transmissão e a interpretação de signos. O livro pretendeu conhecer as abordagens e as linhas semióticas constantes do campo da Documentação na Espanha. Para tanto, sustentou-se que a orientação semiótica dos estudos espanhóis em Documentação ainda requeriam um tratamento abrangente e sistematizado. Entre os resultados, destacam-se a convergência da maior parte dos teóricos com temas semióticos vinculados à Linguística e a necessidade de refundação de uma Semiótica documental, seguindo as diretrizes de Izquierdo Arroyo. Entende-se que as abordagens semióticas possuem um potencial para fomentar os estudos da linguagem no campo da organização do conhecimento, contribuindo assim para a reflexão epistemológica da Ciência da Informação no Brasil.

    Les juifs italiens de Tunisie pendant le fascisme (2023)

    Description: Terre de mélanges culturels et de politiques coloniales, la Tunisie a attiré de l’Europe des courants d’immigrations aussi bien que des visées impérialistes. La trajectoire des Juifs italiens, dits Livournais, s’inscrit au carrefour de ces axes. Une communauté enracinée en Tunisie depuis le xviie siècle, mais toujours assimilée au monde européen. Une population cosmopolite, mais jalousement attachée à Livourne et à l’Italie. Une double minorité, à l’égard tant de la nombreuse population juive locale que des cent mille émigrés italiens vivant en Tunisie au début du xxe siècle, mais toujours caractérisée par une forte identité collective. Pendant l’entre-deux-guerres, la place sociale de cette communauté fut remise en cause par une série de phénomènes convergents : l’essor du nationalisme tunisien, les tensions diplomatiques italo-françaises, et surtout par la montée au pouvoir du régime fasciste, résolu à encadrer les communautés d’émigration dans sa politique impériale. Sur la base de fonds d’archives et de témoignages inédits, ce travail reconstruit le parcours des Juifs italiens de Tunisie face aux stratégies de fascisation de Rome, en interrogeant les croisements identitaires dans les contextes d’émigration, la question de l’adhésion de masse au totalitarisme et le poids des médiateurs au sein des sociétés coloniales.

    Description: La figure du baiser occupe une place de choix dans les romans de Mary Shelley (1797-1851), femme de lettres anglaise traditionnellement attachée au courant romantique. Cet ouvrage veut contribuer à la connaissance, encore trop peu développée en France, de cette romancière, par le biais d’une figure littéraire qui entretient un rapport fort à la littérature en général et au romantisme en particulier. Il s’agira d’étudier les modalités de la représentation du baiser dans les sept romans que Mary Shelley produisit entre 1818 et 1837. Figure de la rencontre de deux subjectivités, le baiser se décline sur un mode sensible, mythique et philosophique chez la romancière. Au terme de ce parcours, c’est une figure bien particulière de l’écrivain qui sera (re)découverte.

    Description: Europe, as the title of this collective book indicates, is a project under construction and David Sassoli, who is honored here, one of its most striking and memorable builders. European construction, despite all the deviations and hesitations that distinguish every single genuine human situation, has been based on a set of values that represent our own identity, in the full recognition of all the differences that simultaneously nourish it. Culture has progressively played a major role in this lasting European undertaking. In this chapter, by honoring a man who hoped for a better spiritual condition for Europe, we reassess one of the main instruments for establishing a cultural path in Europe: the European Capital of Culture (ECOC) project. The record and the tone of the following pages is far beyond the usual scope of mere description. Guided by the inspiring example of Sassoli, we face up to suggest a set of measures that will allow the ECOC action to fully meet its purpose, thus contributing to make the cultural option in Europe truly irreversible.

    Description: Perspective restitution is the inverse process of perspective and is therefore rooted in descriptive geometry; when this technique is applied to the restitution of dimensions from photos, it enters the territories of photogrammetry. The position on the border between two disciplines, different but related, has caused the solitude of perspective restitution from photos: rarely mentioned in studies on descriptive geometry, it is completely ignored in those dedicated to photogrammetry. Yet, perspective restitution is the only tool that allows us to reconstruct, from a single image, the 3D layout of a building. In his 1930 book dedicated to 'Metrophotography', Henri Deneux had highlighted, probably for the first time, the possibility of reconstructing, from a single photo, buildings or parts of them damaged by war events (Deneux referred to monuments damaged by the bombings of World War I). Today, digital drawing and modelling tools enable us to overcome many of the difficulties that affected perspective restitution from photos with traditional drawing tools. This volume illustrates the theoretical assumptions and the drawing and modelling techniques that allow us to achieve the 3D reconstruction of buildings and urban scenarios that no longer exist from one or few images.

    Description: Organized through the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the symposium “Lascaux and Preservation Issues in Subterranean Environments” was held in Paris on February 26 and 27, 2009 under the chairmanship of Jean Clottes. It brought together nearly three hundred participants from seventeen countries with the goal of confronting research and interventions conducted in Lascaux Cave since 2001 with the experiences gained in other countries in the domain of preservation in subterranean environments. Twelve presentations addressed questions related to disciplines such as hydrogeology, climatology and microbiology in relation to the protection and valorization of decorated caves. The talks were followed by debates allowing the experts and all other participants to freely express themselves. This volume, which constitutes the proceedings of this symposium, is composed of the studies presented during the sessions and full transcriptions of the debates. It provides both a synthesis of the conservation activities realized at Lascaux between 2001 and 2009 and the state of research and the conditions of the cave as of 2009.

This fragility testifies to a problem of educational sustainability that requires an exit from the emergency logic of “buffer interventions” by activating social, training and professional networks, capable of responding to the educational needs expressed by the territory. Dumézil, les dieux sont considérés selon une perspective anthropologique qui vise à éclairer leurs terrains et modes d’action, ainsi que les différentes facettes de leur identité et de leurs fonctions. Les dieux formant une “société divine”, il s’agit de montrer qu’une telle approche gagne à recourir à l’outil heuristique du “réseau”, en faisant porter l’analyse des dieux de Rome et du monde romain sur les systèmes de relations qui les unissent et les font interagir. L’enquête sur les réseaux divins est déclinée à partir de différents cas d’études. Une attention particulière a été portée au caractère dynamique et contextualisé des interactions divines qui peuvent varier dans le temps et dans l’espace. Le caractère exploratoire des investigations et de la démarche qui les sous-tend est mis en exergue dans les trois premières contributions qui, au-delà des études de cas analysés, proposent des pistes de réflexion pour penser les dieux romains et leurs réseaux. Les quatre articles suivants s’attachent à l’étude de réseaux divins en un contexte donné. Les quatre dernières contributions sont davantage centrées sur l’étude d’une divinité, dont sont explorés l’identité plurielle, les modes et champs d’action, la question des réseaux divins permettant d’enrichir significativement la réflexion sur les dieux envisagés.

    Description: À bien des égards, l’enseignement littéraire s’intéresse aux émotions qui s’expriment dans une œuvre, puis qui sont partagées grâce à la lecture et au commentaire. Dans la mesure où elles sont supposées relever de l’intériorité, elles seraient propres à caractériser la subjectivité d’un auteur et d’un lecteur. Pourtant, dès que l’on cherche à préciser le sens de cette dernière phrase, l’embarras devient vite manifeste　: que signifie par exemple penser, se comporter, ressentir des émotions en tant que sujet　? Et dans un cadre scolaire, comment élèves et enseignants apprennent-ils et savent-ils qu’ils font une expérience de la subjectivité et plus particulièrement dans un type d’enseignement qualifié de littéraire ? Après avoir contextualisé ces questions dans des débats d’idées, ceux de l’histoire de l’esthétique, du champ littéraire et de l’histoire de l’enseignement, l’ouvrage complète cette analyse par une étude de l’enseignement contemporain à partir d’une enquête de terrain opérée dans des classes de collège et d’ECG (Canton de Genève.     Description: Paolo Panceri (Milan 1836 - Naples 1877) was one of the most appreciated naturalists of his time. Above all, his research on the luminescence of marine animals made him famous throughout the world. When in 1860 he won the competition for the chair of Comparative Anatomy, newly established in Italy, he preferred the University of Naples to those of Pavia and Bologna. In Naples, his "second homeland", he founded the Museum of Comparative Anatomy and helped, although not a Darwinist, Darwin's follower Anton Dohrn to obtain from the Municipality the land of the Royal Villa, on which the building of the Zoological Station would be built and finally inaugurated in 1875. When he died prematurely, his friend and colleague Emilio Cornalia remembered him with these words: «Tall in person, with brown eyes and hair, with a sweet and insinuating speech, with a reserved and modest demeanor, with a smile on his lips, he was one of those nice men who make themselves immediately understood and loved, and who so rarely meet in the human crowd." This volume retraces Panceri's life: his youthful education in Milan, his studies and early research in Pavia, his relationships with Naples, his friendships inside and outside the academic world, his troubled sentimental affairs, the two trips he made to Egypt over the years 1872-1874.

    Description: Rouen, Brest, Limoges, Aix-en-Provence, Toulouse..., c’est à une fuite vers le sud, une fuite en zigzag, que faisait penser récemment la carte des universités françaises dans lesquelles la recherche en linguistique hispanique avait donné lieu à des rencontres entre spécialistes. Contourné – évité ? – par l’ouest, Paris ne semblait pas avoir de place sur cette carte, il n’en va plus de même depuis les 8, 7 et 10 février 1996, c’est-à-dire depuis que s’est tenu à la Sorbonne le VIIe Colloque de Linguistique Hispanique. Venus pour l’occasion de presque toutes les universités françaises mais aussi de Belgique, d’Espagne et de Pologne, de nombreux chercheurs ont confronté leurs points de vue durant trois jours et ont apporté leur contribution à la connaissance des langues de la Péninsule ibérique. Ce sont ces points de vue que rassemble le présent volume. Ils éclairent certaines particularités – diachroniques ou synchroniques – du castillan, du portugais, du catalan et du galicien. Ils permettent de mieux comprendre ce que sont les structures phonétique, phonologique, morphologique, syntaxique, lexicologique et sémantique de ces langues. Ils illustrent les principales méthodes d’analyse que l’on emploie aujourd’hui dans les sciences du langage. Ils permettent en somme de prendre la mesure des progrès réalisés dans un domaine où le savoir est exploité non seulement à des fins pédagogiques – l’enseignement des langues – mais aussi – et de plus en plus – à des fins industrielles (il nourrit de nos jours les « industries » de ta langue).

Très souvent mécènes, les autorités urbaines ont enfin durablement marqué les villes de leur empreinte comme le prouvent aujourd’hui encore nombre d’oeuvres architecturales et artistiques.

In many countries, it is also an ally in cultivating the land. The effects of fire can therefore be dramatic, but also beneficial. There is little literature on fire on a global scale. Aimed at decision-makers as well as a wider public, this book, illustrated with numerous examples, is a synthesis of current knowledge on the ecology of fire and its geography. The project, a surprising demonstration of his perfect knowledge of places where he lived, is illustrated in three drawings found and studied by Renzo Cianchi. Today, it is particularly interesting to analyze the feasibility of Leonardo’s project, by chronologically translating it to the 21st century, namely in 2020. Based on an accurate hydrologic analysis, this paper aims at providing further insights on Leonardo’s study, focusing on the feasibility of the dam.

    Description: An abbot, a journalist, and a man of letters, Giovanni Pellegrino Dandi (1664–c. 1726) curated, during his frenetic activity, the columns of various literary periodicals. His writings immediately caught the attention of some of the leading Italian intellectuals of his time, from Lodovico Antonio Muratori to Antonio Vallisneri. While filling a gap in the coeval cultural press, Dandi’s publications, such as «Gran Giornale de’ Letterati» (1701–1704), were, in fact, a fraud. Rather than creating original works, Dandi appropriated writings that had been printed before, and were later forgotten by the readers. Jacopo Narros brings to light the documentation about Dandi’s cheatings, creating an entertaining narrative of the editorial nonchalance of this singular erudite, and outlining his fascinating figure of forger and plagiarist. Moreover, by investigating the relationship between the «gran sottisier» and the 17th and 18th century literary community, Narros shows the dynamism of the intellectual life of that period. In those years, erudites like Apostolo Zeno and Scipione Maffei were active in structuring new communicative strategies to transmit innovative scientific discoveries and literary experiences to their readership.

    Description: The separative logic is not educational. The essay reviews the historical events that have generated an undervaluation of vocational training pathways compared to education pathways. This "minority" of perception and legislation stems from a logic of separation with many faces which, taken all together, with etiological spirit and historical-ordinamental contextualization, explain the "untenable" inferiority of vocational education: people (the 'inferiors') and political-bureaucratic elite (the 'superiors'), nature and culture, man and citizen, etc. These separations concerned the idea of labor (one among them, the opposition between 'manual labor' and 'intellectual labor') and did not allow for increasing the educational power of it. Only a logic of integration (embedded and embodied) can defuse the ideas of separation and provide an organic and holistic image of education.

    Description: Torrential hydraulics occupies an intermediate position between classical fluvial hydraulics and soil and rock mechanics (ground movements); it uses concepts common to fluvial hydraulics, sometimes departing from them. Published in 1992, this book sets out the problems specific to torrent hydraulics, describing the particular phenomenon of debris flow through a qualitative description of a famous debris-flowing torrent and its workings. Shifts in meaning also affect certain concepts when moving from river hydraulics to torrential hydraulics: viscosity and concentration are more complex to use in torrential hydraulics. New theories are then presented: fluid mechanics-type research work that tackles the problem of which model to apply to which torrential flow, starting with knowledge of the behavior law (rheology) and ending with knowledge of the flow law. Many of the tools developed by researchers are still far from being directly applicable to engineering problems, apart from physical scale models. This study then focuses on methods that can be used by people in the field: we will no longer talk about behavior laws and velocity profiles, but only about average velocities. This change in the level of our approach will enable us to use the few existing field measurements, which until now have only concerned the global parameters of torrential flows. A book for students and teachers with a scientific background in classical hydraulics.

More than one thousand of such expressions have been registered. In more than 3.800 lexicographical notes, some of which extensive, Pascal Attinger clarifies the reading of difficult lexemes, discusses the meaning of rare or unclear terms and provides a detailed bibliography which will facilitate further research. The glossary itself is preceded by a catalogue of cited compositions including abundant bibliographical references and, where applicable, information on new duplicates, a comprehensive discussion of the importance of a consistent transliteration, as well as a concordance of common readings and those adopted in the Glossary.

    Description: This chapter focuses on Obrazy Italii, the best known work by Pavel Muratov, a Russian writer, journalist, critic and art historian. This work is a diary recounting the journey to Italy of the author at the beginning of the twentieth century; nowadays it is considered a classic text that provides a testimony on the way Italian art was perceived in Russia. Though it is well-known in Russia, this work has only recently received some attention in Italy following its recent translation. This chapter contains detailed and original analyses that compare Muratov’s translations with those found in Russian dictionaries written in the same period. These concern a selection of lemmas in art and architecture and the names of artists. This chapter shows that the language employed in this work cannot be defined as either specialised or standard, but as a mixture between the two.

    Description: Todo construído tendo por base a estrutura expositiva da Ética de Spinoza – talvez o primeiro grande tratado de psicanálise da história –, o presente livro discorre sobre o erro na composição musical. Para tanto, parte de um argumento inicial, pelo qual se afirma que a melhor forma de entender, pensar e ensinar a composição musical é a análise. E analisamos sempre o que mais amamos. Nesse processo, nosso orolho – aquele órgão imaginário e simbiótico entre o olho e a orelha, entre o ouvir e o olhar – detecta os acertos dessas obras que nos guiam e inspiram. Mas e quanto a seus erros? Pois não há obra perfeita, e a imperfeição é mesmo sinal de que a obra é algo vivo e que decorre de fendas que se dão em seu interior, na ausência de verdades absolutas. A fenda é, entretanto, apenas um tipo de erro. Discorrer sobre os erros, diagnosticando seus tipos e avaliando, dentre tais categorias, aqueles que procuramos evitar, aqueles que combatemos, aqueles com os quais forçosamente convivemos, e aqueles que almejamos, é ao que se propõe este livro.

    Description: Sexual harassment is a complex behaviour, characterized by several dimensions and definitions, as shown by the literature. In an online context, it is important to fully understand its nature, characteristics and consequences as well as how it may affect adolescents. This work aims to systematize the information available in the literature, by describing the main characteristics of the phenomenon, and trying to provide a definition. The research, which was conducted on four databases in November 2021, led to the identification of 20958 works. After removing the duplicates, and analyzing the abstracts and full-texts, a final number of 65 works were included, which were read in full-text and analysed. As for the studies collected, the type of relationship between the aggressor and the victim is described, alongside a description of the behaviors classified as online sexual harassment. Online sexual harassment can manifest itself in three main typologies (verbal, visual, cybersexual). Within these typologies, it is possible to identify three prevalent behaviours: unwanted solicitation, non-consensual sexting, and sharing of intimate and/or private content with third parties without the victim’s consent.

    Description: Cet ouvrage aborde la question complexe des motivations de la prénomination à l’époque de la Renaissance. De nombreuses études ont été publiées depuis une quarantaine d’années sur l’anthroponymie française. Les chercheurs se sont appliqués à collecter des données et à établir des statistiques. Mais il ne s’agit plus ici de comptabiliser mais d’expliquer. Pour ce faire, ce livre multiplie les comparaisons. Il étudie les évolutions sur une période longue et compare les choix de prénomination dans différentes régions pour établir une synthèse générale. Il remet en cause les conceptions courantes sur la prénomination et offrent de nouvelles hypothèses explicatives. Il réfute l’idée selon laquelle le nom de baptême était principalement la marque d’une dévotion religieuse et met en avant les ressorts fondamentaux de la prénomination : assurer à l’enfant les meilleures chances de survie, de bonheur et de prospérité et l’intégrer dans un réseau de relations sociales.

    Description: The book traces the main stages of third mission and social impact assessment, in the context of the (recent) history of higher education and research assessment in Italy, starting with a review of the transformation of the relationship between the University and the society. Several social drives are leading the university to a series of transformations, at the national, European and international level. The requirement to use transparency criteria and the associated returns of research spending (in accountability) has become a fundamental issue in informing government, business, citizens and society on the achieved results. The introduction of social impact assessment frameworks is also advancing research agendas towards socially relevant domains, to provide solutions in international competitiveness, social welfare, sustainability and other grand challenges. A terminological and conceptual shift is occurring from a traditional concept of technology transfer and third mission towards a broader meaning of knowledge exchange and co-creation between universities and extra-academic actors and the impact generated. However, this shift towards a transdisciplinary, trans-epistemic and inclusive evaluation framework poses new challenges to capture this complexity, requiring the adoption of new methods and tools presented in this book. The international literature and debate on practices are vital combined with trial-and-error approaches, community involvement, and targeted pilot studies. Beyond controversies, resistances, and easily contrived enthusiasms, this is what this volume tries to investigate.

    Description: L’idée d’un langage ou d’une grammaire spécifiques au médium vidéoludique est une problématique qui refait ponctuellement surface, rassemblant des préoccupations propres aux études sur le jeu vidéo et sur le jeu en général, à la conception et aux game studies. Cet ouvrage montre qu’il s’agit d’une discussion riche, qui rejoue dans ses différentes approches des thématiques plus larges, notamment entre ludologie et narratologie, entre études du game ou études du play. S’inspirant de ces discussions, l’ouvrage entend d’abord dresser un inventaire et une typologie des approches proposées, ainsi que des critiques qui ont pu leur être opposées, mais aussi actualiser dans un second temps cette thématique au regard de théories plus récentes dans le champ des études du jeu, de la linguistique et de la sémiotique. Par l’intermédiaire du concept de ludème, dont l’évolution particulière symbolise pleinement la problématique dans son ensemble, la réflexion menée montrera finalement qu’il est possible de réarticuler celle-ci sur différents niveaux d’analyses, pour y concilier les différents aspects de la conception et du jouer, et qu'elle peut également être repensée pour apporter un nouvel éclairage sur des questions d’expérience de jeu, de gameplay émergent ou encore de détournement.

    Description: Des travaux récents nous ont fait redécouvrir l’œuvre de science sociale de Frédéric Le Play (1806-1882), mais on ignorait qu’il avait aussi étudié – et avec quelle maestria ! – les forêts. Des Forêts, resté un manuscrit inédit jusqu’à ce jour, nous révèle ce versant de sa multiple activité scientifique. Il s’agit d’un tableau des forêts du globe, dressé vers 1847, où la question forestière est examinée dans toute sa complexité : géographique, botanique, sylvicole, économique, sociale et juridique. On y voit se dessiner une science forestière concrète qui, à la fois, annonce la science sociale des Ouvriers européens (1855) et préfigure la pensée écologique contemporaine. Une présentation par Antoine Savoye et Bernard Kalaora analyse l’ouvrage et le situe dans l’œuvre de Le Play.

    Description: Nella cultura mafiosa, eventi religiosi come battesimi, funerali, feste patronali, pellegrinaggi ricoprono da sempre un ruolo importante. Lo stesso si può dire per il mondo dell’antimafia, nel quale i rituali devozionali occupano uno spazio simbolico irrinunciabile. Nel tempo queste tipologie di interazione hanno però trovato forme di rappresentazione anche in media diversi rispetto a quelli tradizionalmente vocati alle pratiche religiose e devozionali. A essere investiti di questa funzione sono così stati teatro popolare e di ricerca, letteratura agiografica e romanzo d’inchiesta, stampa quotidiana e fotografia, cinema e fiction tv, reportage documentario e servizi del tg, graphic novel e pagine dei social web. Muovendosi a largo spettro fra i vari luoghi di questa complessa mediasfera, il presente volume propone uno sguardo trasversale proprio su questo fenomeno, integrando fra loro, nell’analisi, saperi e linguaggi tipici del mondo dello spettacolo, delle arti visive e della storia dei media con quelli legati alla storia contemporanea e delle religioni.
