    Description: Norge beskrives gjerne som et land preget av små forskjeller mellom folk når det gjelder inntekt og levekår. Stemmer dette? Sammenliknet med en rekke andre land er beskrivelsen dekkende. Like fullt har vi ulikhet også her i landet, og på noen områder er den økende. Inntektsforskjellene har blitt større, deler av befolkningen sliter med å få seg en godt betalt jobb og levekårene varierer mellom grupper av befolkningen. I denne antologien retter vi blikket mot ulikhetens drivere og dilemmaer. Vi drøfter konsekvensene av internasjonale trender som slår inn i Norge og som setter den norske modellens løsninger på prøve. Samtidig møtes internasjonale trender med politiske grep og veivalg. Derfor diskuterer vi også hvilke politiske virkemidler vi har tilgjengelig for å motvirke økende ulikhet i samfunnet og sikre en samfunnsmodell preget av små økonomiske og sosiale forskjeller og mest mulig likhet i levekår.     Description: Nyskaping er eit omgrep vi møter i mange samanhengar, og det er gjerne tett kopla til omgrepet innovasjon. Oftast er nyskaping omtalt i positive lada ordelag og som noko vi ønskjer å få til meir av. Men kva inneber nyskaping? Antologien løfter opp nokre spørsmål som er med å tydeleggjere kva nyskaping er. Kva skil nyskaping frå innovasjon? Kva er tilsikta og utilsikta konsekvensar av nyskapingsprosessar? Og kva skal til for å lukkast?. Krav til nyskaping kjem også til UH-sektoren, og dei ulike bidraga i antologien drøftar kva rolle UH-sektoren kan ha i nyskapinga. Nokre av kapitla tar fatt på denne debatten på eit prinsipielt nivå, gjennom å diskutere det opp mot UH-sektoren si rolle og mandatet til institusjonar innan høgare utdanning og forsking. Andre kapittel, med empiri i all hovudsak forankra i «fjordregionen», gjev viktige praktiske døme på korleis slike nyskapingsprosessar utfoldar seg i praksis. Fleire av kapitla diskuterer i større grad nyskapingar – altså produktet snarare enn prosessen. Diskusjonane frå kapitla i denne antologien syner at omgrepet nyskaping er mangfaldig. Eit viktig funn er at nyskapingsomgrepet ser ut til å representere noko anna og lettare handgripeleg for mange av aktørane enn det meir etablerte innovasjonsomgrepet. Det mogleggjer nye former for samhandling og innsikt som også er relevant langt utover regionen døma tek utgangspunkt i.

The complex and multifaceted relationship between foster children and biological children in foster families creates many paradoxes and dilemmas. I discuss how challenges in foster care placement may impact on children in foster families, and the moral responsibility of the social workers for the well-being of these children. Recognition, from both parents and professionals, is crucial for how they cope with the difficulties.

Fostersøskenrelasjonen er en sammensatt og mangesidig relasjon som frembringer ulike dilemmaer. Jeg drøfter hvilke utfordringer en fosterhjemsplassering kan innebære for barna til fosterforeldrene, og hvilket moralsk ansvar sosialarbeidere har for å ivareta disse barna.     Description: Europe, as the title of this collective book indicates, is a project under construction and David Sassoli, who is honored here, one of its most striking and memorable builders. European construction, despite all the deviations and hesitations that distinguish every single genuine human situation, has been based on a set of values that represent our own identity, in the full recognition of all the differences that simultaneously nourish it. Culture has progressively played a major role in this lasting European undertaking. In this chapter, by honoring a man who hoped for a better spiritual condition for Europe, we reassess one of the main instruments for establishing a cultural path in Europe: the European Capital of Culture (ECOC) project. The record and the tone of the following pages is far beyond the usual scope of mere description. Guided by the inspiring example of Sassoli, we face up to suggest a set of measures that will allow the ECOC action to fully meet its purpose, thus contributing to make the cultural option in Europe truly irreversible.

    Description: Nowadays poverty can be defined as a construct that can no longer be ascribed to the material scarcity of resources but to the lack of all available relational, social and cultural resources, that are an expression of a “suffering” territory. This fragility testifies to a problem of educational sustainability that requires an exit from the emergency logic of “buffer interventions” by activating social, training and professional networks, capable of responding to the educational needs expressed by the territory. For this reason, in the epistemic framework of Civil and Digital-Civil Pedagogy, the need emerges for new professional profiles capable of being “managers” of integrated territorial development, educators-planners of territorial educational services with a view to social sustainability and the educational human transition.

    Description: Eco-territorialist approach to spatial planning overcomes functional approaches assuming as key references man/nature co-evolution, the diverse components of living, the participation of inhabitants to territorial governance, the territorial context not as the object of planning choices but as a real living subject. The territorial context, a both existing and potential heritage for the settled community, is considered as a fundamental 'actant' in the ecological transition process.     Description: The essay traces back the maturation of eco-territorialism starting from the late 1970s ‘rediscovery’ of the territory, coinciding with the crisis of the Fordist model, the rise of the diffuse factory and the beginning of globalisation processes. In the evolutions and involutions of such scenario up to the recent pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war, the advocates of eco-territorialism find reasons to challenge the unlimited urbanisation of space; to frame the question of dwelling as an unavoidable ethical-political problem; to overcome the reductionism of those who read the ecological crisis as a mere climate change or energy issue; to problematise and radically redefine the ideas of development and planning, reconnecting them to the self-sustainable reconstruction of material and immaterial relations between the inhabitants and the anthropic, ecosystem and bioregional complexity of places.

    Description: In 2020, Norway’s national curriculum for primary and secondary school eduction, known as Kunnskapsløftet, came into effect. The plan is marked by increased emphasis on education for sustainability, and a notable example of this is the inclusion of sustainable development as an interdisciplinary topic in most subjects in primary and secondary school. As a result, the focus on sustainabilty has also increased in teacher eduction programs, for preschool as well as primary and secondary school teachers. Furthermore, a number of research networks have been established to explore sustainability in the context of education, and new research and textbooks are being published on this topic. Presentando le principali teorie sociologiche che si sono occupate di questi due temi, e delle loro odierne manifestazioni, l’autrice propone una ricerca, condotta tra il 2015 e il 2018 in due campus degli Stati Uniti, con l’obiettivo di comprendere in che misura la condivisione di informazioni, relative a eventi criminali, mediante canali tecnologici (e-mail e social network), possa avere un impatto sulla percezione del rischio, sulla sorveglianza delle attività svolte nel campus e sulla modifica dei comportamenti degli studenti. L’invio delle notifiche è preceduto da un processo di selezione interna in cui viene deciso cosa comunicare o meno agli studenti. Sulla base di evidenze e argomentazioni, è emerso che non viene mai fatta menzione di alcuni reati – tra cui la violenza sessuale – nonostante siano i più diffusi all’interno dei campus americani.

    Description: This volume concerns the role of the Italian schools, the associations and their actors to counteract educational dispersion and encourage the inclusion of minors with a migratory background. The work is part of a collaboration project between Inapp (National Institute for Public Policy Analysis) and Aiig (Italian Association of Geography Teachers) aimed to map the “Analysis, training and territorial activities for preventing/countering the risks of educational dispersion of young people with a migratory background” (June 2022 - March 2023). This collaboration stems from a program agreement between Inapp and Ministry of Labor and Social Policies - General Directorate of Immigration, on “Citizen Integration Policies of Third Countries”. The first part, focused on theoretical aspects, develops the idea of a school as welcoming community, in which disciplines such as geography and tools such as digital teaching can be significant resources to draw on. Related to this, a specific focus on the socio-cultural development in the border and internal areas is underlined. The second part collects the empirical evidences emerging from some territorial laboratories and training courses organized by Inapp and Aiig in various Italian regions. These evidences represent the main results of a qualitative survey on risks of educational dropout of young people with a migratory background. A wealth of proposals together with successful and critical factors is unraveled. In the last section of the volume, these various and original practices are reported by teachers, school managers, and operators, representatives of voluntary organisations, associations and third sector. The idea was to carry out the research not on the actors of inclusion, but with them, giving voice to their experiences. It was a sort of an ideal journey from the north of Italy, where the presence of students with a migratory background is higher, to the south, considered the land of their arrival and transit.

    Description: In the face of the disproportionate “Greater Paris” operation and its unreasonable rhetoric, the “Biorégion Île-de-France 2050” vision tries to anticipate in project a trend already underway in things: namely, the disintegration of the colossal metropolitan agglomeration of Paris, collapsing on its fragile metabolic roots due to the increasing unsustainability of the long chains on which it has thrived. The aim is to convey this movement into a recomposition of the Capital's territory into eight bioregions, interconnected by synergetic, reticular and non-hierarchical relations in the name of local self-sustainability: the chapter describes this thought experiment that is also a concrete eco-territorialist proposal.

    Description: This book, inspired by the thought of Giacomo Becattini, reflects on why local communities continue to exist and spread. Why does the planet not become one place without borders? Why instead do we humans preferentially group ourselves into communities that are neither 'too wide' nor 'too narrow'? What characterizes today's form of community? Why are these communities rooted in places? What is peculiarly 'local' about places? Together with Becattini, we answer that the foundation of local communities is social culture. In its material and symbolic dimensions, social culture animates various forms of proximity between people and between groups: in addition to territorial proximity, social proximity (also online) and institutional proximity matter a lot. This implies that today a local community is not only a place where social culture makes us physically close, but where at least some of the major forms of proximity intersect.

    Description: In recent decades, deep transformations have been reshaping academia and the research environment. Reforms in funding structures, research assessment, and accountability procedures are still redesigning the practices in academic work, redefining research schedules, and determining relevant effects on scientific career paths. Despite European policies efforts towards the development of more responsible and inclusive research, the processes emerging from these transformations of academic contexts are producing new inequalities and strengthening old ones. New rules in the recruitment and career progression of researchers reduce, in some instances, and intensify, in others the pre-existing gender gaps, with varying impact on researchers, according to their belonging to different cohorts, gender or minority groups, and on universities, according to size and regional contexts. Adopting an intersectional perspective, contributions in this volume focus on gendering processes in Italian academia. Altogether, they succeed in accomplishing a double result: to unveil the gendered character of academic and research practices and to trace emergent paths towards their reshaping into more equitable and inclusive ones.

Le riforme delle strutture di finanziamento, della valutazione della ricerca e delle procedure di responsabilità stanno ancora ridisegnando le pratiche del lavoro accademico, ridefinendo i programmi di ricerca e determinando effetti rilevanti sui percorsi di carriera scientifica. Nonostante gli sforzi delle politiche europee verso lo sviluppo di una ricerca più responsabile ed inclusiva, i processi che emergono da queste trasformazioni dei contesti accademici stanno producendo nuove disuguaglianze e rafforzando quelle vecchie. Le nuove regole nel reclutamento e nella progressione di carriera dei ricercatori riducono, in alcuni casi, e intensificano, in altri, i divari di genere preesistenti, con un impatto variabile sui ricercatori, a seconda della loro appartenenza a diverse coorti, al genere o a gruppi minoritari, e sulle università, a seconda delle dimensioni e dei contesti regionali. Adottando una prospettiva intersezionale, i contributi di questo volume si concentrano sui processi di gendering nel mondo accademico italiano. Complessivamente, essi riescono a conseguire un duplice risultato: svelare il carattere di genere delle pratiche accademiche e di ricerca e tracciare i percorsi emergenti verso la loro rimodellazione in senso più equo e inclusivo.

    Description: The spread of pandemics, war and the climate crisis has shown how close the unsustainability of the current development model, oblivious of places and their inhabitants, has now come to a point of no return; but at the same time it has made more transparent – as well as more urgent – the reasons for the eco-territorialist turn, centred on the conceptual and operational device of the urban bioregion. Delving into a discussion already underway, the essay describes such a tool by declining it along three analysis and design axes: the founding role of territorial heritage, the integrated and synergic activation of all the “constructive elements” of the production of space, and the self-government of the territory as a common good.

    Description: The volume collects the contributions of international scholars on court culture in Spain and in the Italian states in the eighteenth century, presented on the occasion of the second international congress of the Italian society and the Spanish society of studies on the eighteenth century, held in Salamanca on 16- March 18, 2022.     Description: The text highlights the lines of the research crossed by Paolo Federighi in his forty-year professional career within the University of Florence and the European institutions. We take the opportunity of this perusal to problematize the discipline, Adult Education, through a semantic and lexicographic analysis which aims to bring to light the history and theory of Adult Education from its beginnings in Italian society and culture in the period after the Second World War to date. The pedagogical-educational knowledge forming the building blocks of the discipline cannot be separated from scientific research and methodological results. The second part of the essay sets out to understand which research methodology can be more appropriate to respond to the needs of a constantly evolving and rapidly changing civil society.     Description: The research belongs to the disciplinary field of drawing disciplines, focusing attention on autism’s needs, andaiming at guiding the architectural space perception using virtual reality. The drawing disciplines, providing aninterpretation of spatial syntax, become an interdisciplinary medium to observe with a new perspective the output data of the experimentation, this way incisively contributing to a field of research hitherto dominated only by medical, pedagogical, and technological disciplines. The interdisciplinary research methodologyintegrates the joint visions of multiple theoretical fields; in addition to the more specific one of drawing, alsothe ergonomic, pedagogical, museum sector and the neuroscience area. The author aims to fill some gaps,found in the investigated context, about human perceptual answers to the VR representation, shifting the focusof attention, from the technological aspects of the digital tool to the user. This way, the research increases thepotential of virtual reality as an educational and inclusive medium. Starting from these assumptions, the study deals with a profound analysis of the perceptive responses in the relationship between man and architecturalspace, both in the neurotypical context and in the autistic scenario, to explore the role of the drawings disciplineas a guide in the interpretation of spatial morphologies for people with perceptual impairments. Comparing theanalytical phase’s output data, the research develops the main design objectives aimed at developing theguidelines tool for the autism-friendly virtual environment design. This way it overcomes the gaps of previousexperiments considering all the factors analyzed in the preliminary study phases, human and ergonomicfactors, perceptive, educational, and inclusive. The drawing disciplines, acting as an interdisciplinary medium,provide the most appropriate operational tools for achieving the preset objectives. The "re-design" of a spacecustomized to a weaker user's needs has, as a further consequence, the outcome of indiscriminately extendingthe possibility of access to culture, since improving the relationship with the space can also help improve our relationship with ourselves and with others.

    Description: La ricerca si colloca nel settore scientifico disciplinare del disegno focalizzando l’attenzione sulle problematiche dell’autismo e sulla possibilità di guidare la percezione dello spazio architettonico attraverso il ricorso alla realtà virtuale. Lo studio intende ribadire la necessità che le discipline della rappresentazione possano contribuire in maniera determinante a un ambito di ricerca finora dominato dalle sole discipline mediche, pedagogiche e tecnologiche costituendosi, non solo come interprete della sintassi spaziale, ma anche come medium interdisciplinare per osservare con una nuova ottica i dati di output della sperimentazione. La trattazione, per il suo carattere polifunzionale, integra le visioni congiunte di più ambiti teorici; oltre a quello più specifico del disegno, anche il settore ergonomico, pedagogico, museale e l'area delle neuroscienze. L’autrice si propone di colmare alcune lacune, riscontrate nell’ambito di studi indagato, sulla risposta percettiva legata alla rappresentazione in VR spostando il focus d’attenzione, dagli aspetti tecnologici dello strumentodigitale, all’utente, con lo scopo di incrementare il potenziale della realtà virtuale come medium educativo e inclusivo. Partendo da questi presupposti, lo studio affronta una profonda analisi delle risposte percettive nel rapporto uomo-spazio architettonico, sia in ambito neurotipico che nello scenario autistico, per approfondire il ruolo della disciplina della rappresentazione come guida nell’interpretazione delle morfologie spaziali per persone con compromissioni percettive. Dal confronto dei dati di output delle ricerche studiate, scaturisce l'esigenza di linee guida per la progettazione delle ambientazioni virtuali che, superando le lacune delle precedenti sperimentazioni, tenga conto di tutti i fattori analizzati nelle fasi di studio preliminari, fattori umani ed ergonomici, percettivi, educativi, di inclusività e in cui la disciplina della rappresentazione, ponendosi cometramite interdisciplinare, fornisca gli strumenti operativi più opportuni per il raggiungimento degli obiettivi prefissati. Attraverso un’adeguata interpretazione dei codici spaziali, guidata dagli strumenti di analisi e comunicazione delle discipline ICAR 17, lo studio approda alla definizione di uno strumento d’indirizzo per la progettazione di ambienti virtuali autism friendly, dove il patrimonio architettonico diventi medium di inclusione e comunicazione del suo valore culturale. Il “ri-disegno” di uno spazio configurato sulle specificità di un’utenza più debole ha, come ulteriore ricaduta, l’esito di estendere in modo indiscriminato la possibilità di accesso alla cultura, dal momento che migliorare il rapporto con lo spazio, può aiutare a migliorare anche il rapporto con noi stessi e con gli altri.

    Description: Both the labor movement and the church have played a large part in shaping modern Norwegian society. Relations between them were often strained - sometimes hostile - in the decades before the Second World War. During and after the war, many dreamed of making a fresh start, with the experiences of community and cooperation during the occupation as a basis. This book explores how these dreams turned out. Different ambitions for the good society came together, and fronts and lines of cooperation were established which have characterized Norwegian social life well into the 21st century. Many questions remained open in the 1940s and 1950s. How should the Labor Party, with a majority in the Parliament, deal with the state church in practice? Should it be given greater autonomy, or should it rather be used as a means of keeping people's erratic religious inclinations under some control? Could the church function as the conscience of the state? The Labor Party's welfare state project - was it something everyone had to cheer for, or did it also contain a worrisome totalitarian tendency? These questions have not been systematically investigated in full in the past, and this presentation is based on new source studies. The book covers a central part of recent Norwegian history, and is essential reading for anyone who wants to understand how religion has been treated politically and what role the Church of Norway plays in today's social life.

    Description: Restructuring personal and vocational training by means of the harbinger of a not merely economistic idea of employability represents a fundamental and ineradicable task of educational research and pedagogical reflection. The most obvious effect of such a re-understanding of employability in its function as a pedagogical principle and catalyst of formation, because of its dimension of connaturality with the subjective educational trajectory, is that of reinterpreting transition processes not from a discontinuous perspective, but from a process perspective. It can provide a founding humus for eco-territorialism in very tangible terms: identifying alternatives to the current agri-food system, triggering strong change dynamics for ecosystem care, consolidating sustainable practices at different scales, from the cultivated field to the organic district – actions necessary to address the current climate, socio-economic, ecological, global health emergencies; as well as affirming ethical principles of individual and social responsibility, concerning the ways of relating to, respecting and caring for both the weak segments of human population, and the natural resources water, land, air, biodiversity.     Description: The 'telluric' crises sweeping the world today at various levels – starting with the failure of the 'globalisation utopia' – have their origin in a worldwide ecological crisis that makes old development models unworkable. The emerging alternative is visible in the widespread diffusion of new territorial communities, which represent a challenge both to development models based on economic 'monoculture' and to the modern era vision of the community principle, seen as a remnant of the past doomed to disappear. Thousands of experiences of new communities are increasingly taking responsibility for a new world narrative (new territories ecologically built, principle of plurality, centrality of new social subjects and their relations, non-hierarchical forms of self-government, over-local ‘bioregional’ openness) which challenges the 19th-century opposition between 'community' and 'society': multi-actor, multidimensional and transcalar communities will be no less than the future society.

    Description: Cain resumes the biblical story of the genesiacs brothers to recount it in a heterodox way. Based on the canonical biblical texts, the ethical perspective of David Maria Sassoli and in ideological discourses, José Saramago (re)reads the life of the murderous brother by a desacralizing bias, establishing a process of discursive reorganization of the Bible and, consequently, of Christianity – an ideology rooted in the social thought that the writer Portuguese intends to resolve. Our proposal is to probe such ethical assumptions questioned by the novel. Thus, we will focus on the figure of the protagonist to reflect on postures, symbolic representations, narrative functions and ideological expressiveness. Let us, through our reading, decommthe kaleidoscopic clash that the skilled narrator stages to present an ethical proposal in dialogue with renewing ideals of today's society.

Through the investigation of different communication contexts it is possible to reconstruct lexicon, rhetoric, narration, visual identity, relationship with the media. Far from the tones of the average union leader, Trentin remains faithful to his composed and philosophical attitude and, by so doing, successfully involves and fascinates masses, the television audience, readers, and even activists and fellow party members. The linguistic and communication strategies he uses differ not only from the traditional trade union leadership but also from politics. In Trentin’s studies the substance of the message definitely prevails on the aesthetics of the form.

    Description: The subject-text and author-reader relationship are investigated with particular attention to the current proliferation of narrative languages and methodologies, including digital ones. It reflects on the pedagogical and social value of an education that educates young people's active and conscious participation in the dynamics of contemporary society. The chapter adopts as a case study the modes of communication, including narrative, developed during the last two years deeply marked by the Covid19 pandemic. The function of processing insecurity, individual and collective, and reshaping behaviors of the different narrative forms are highlighted.

    Description: According to the Maastricht Treaty, the responsibility for the organisation and content of education and training systems lies with the Member States. However, the Community contributes to the development of quality education and the European dimension of teaching by encouraging cooperation between Member States. Europeanisation of national education systems in the European Union is both the effect of a top-down political process, with different levels of governance, and the result of a bottom-up movement. The main agents are the teachers themselves: European mobility, both physical and virtual, improves their professional practice and helps to develop their sense of belonging to a European teaching and learning community. Despite the central role played by teachers in the integration of national education systems into the European Education Area, the profile and the key competencies of the ‘European teacher’ have not been defined in European Union policy documents.

    Description: The liberal democracies of the West are experiencing a process of slow but constant and apparently unstoppable degradation. The main thesis of this contribution is that the primary reason for this degradation must be identified in the jamming of the representative mechanism and in the incapacity of democratic politics to stage transparent, recognizable and realistic conflicts on significant dimensions of social life and to present ideas of different and probable futures. Pulverized by complexity and differences, society and the future have become unrepresentable. Saturation of the world and global interdependence, on the one hand, assembled identities, belongings without transcendence and individualization of meanings, on the other, produces a need for immediacy, for political and social disintermediation that is increasingly less compatible with the functioning of representative democracy and with its privileged if not exclusive incardination within the framework of the nation-state. The outcome is, therefore, that of a structural misalignment between configurations of subjectivity and institutional arrangements. Underlying the troubles of modern democracy is the increasingly evident gap between individuals as they really are (became) and individuals as they should be in order for political institutions to function adequately.

    Description: Several associations in Italy are involved in pediatric disease and support for children and adolescents in conditions of medical complexity, with Tuscany boasting a territory particularly committed to social issues. This study aims to understand if currently in Tuscany there are associations engaged in promoting the sense of school belonging of the student with pathology. In order to achieve this objective, Tuscan associations have been mapped using five different mapping methods. Only one association was found through this mapping. The psychologist at the association was interviewed to understand the point of view of the association on this topic.

Udlændingemyndigheder skal nu gå til grænsen af Danmarks internationale forpligtelser i deres vurderinger af opholdstilladelser og ikke vægte flygtninges tilknytning til landet i samme grad som tidligere. Flygtninge skal sendes tilbage til deres oprindelsesland, så snart det er muligt, og hvis de ikke vil rejse frivilligt, må de flytte ind på et udrejsecenter, indtil de kan deporteres. Paradigmeskiftet markerer på den ene side et radikalt nybrud i dansk flygtningepolitik, men må på den anden side forstås i forlængelse af de sidste årtiers restriktive politik på udlændinge- og integrationsområdet.Denne bog er den første til systematisk at belyse de mange konsekvenser af den aktuelle danske flygtningepolitik.     Description: The concept of urban bioregion provides an interpretive and design perspective to the critical vision of planetary urbanisation, pursuing the recovery of co-evolutionary relations between human settlement and the environment through the reconstruction both of the ‘urbanity’ of places in plural and multi-centred forms and of the relations between urban and rural life-worlds. The experience of the Apulia Regional Landscape Plan is presented as an attempt of policy and planning innovation aimed at supporting re-inhabiting practices consistent with the principles and forms of the urban bioregion. The Plan promotes projects and actions characterised by a multi-scalar dimension, which assume as key factors for a just and regenerative local development the re-establishment of co-evolutionary relationships between human settlement and the geo-environmental system, the mobilisation of local knowledge, and the shaping of a sense of belonging to places and inhabitants’ care practices.

Il volume propone un approfondimento sui percorsi biografici che hanno portato le “nuove generazioni italiane” ad accedere agli studi universitari. La decisione di proseguire gli studi dopo il diploma apre, infatti, a una serie di interrogativi relativi all’investimento formativo che sono qui affrontati, tramite un approccio quanti-qualitativo, con riferimento a uno specifico studio di caso: quello dell’Università di Bologna. Individuare gli aspetti caratterizzati da maggiori difficoltà apre la strada a una riflessione volta a fornire indicazioni concrete a supporto della pianificazione di politiche inclusive, un approccio indispensabile per evitare che le barriere già presenti possano trasformarsi in veri e propri vincoli strutturali.

    Description: Eco-memory looks back at the territory along space and time, in the story of how natural systems co-evolve with human settlements in a critical intersection, each time rethought, among man, nature and territories; in order to give visibility and prospects to the many fragile, invisible landscapes that fell off the development axis along the ungoverned industrialisation of the last century. On the one hand, it crosses historiography in a declination of temporal measurement (from the long to the short and very short term) that cannot be subsumed under today’s temporal acceleration, wiping out the past to the point of making territories we live in unrecognisable to our very eyes. On the other, it refers to an anthropology focusing on the spatial dimension and aimed at proposing a revolution of the gaze so as to reread eco-territorial dynamics no longer from the centre (cluttered by the rubble of a systemic crisis) but from the margins, to express new modes of neo-communitarian self-government.

    Description: Adulthood, once defined as a goal, today, has increasingly blurred outlines. While many speak of "adultescenza" (adult-adolescent) to describe the situation of those who interpret their adulthood in adolescent terms, today, we have, in one way, less certainty, in another way, more possibilities. For example, social sciences assign adolescents the task of choosing, where reality confirms that the choices taken in adolescence are not "for life," but circumstantial. Adolescents, rather, discover; adults rediscover. Thus, in adulthood, a detachment from the family of origin can take place which in adolescence was thought inconceivable: freedom, autonomy and responsibility can finally be considered adult goals, because the family of origin sometimes still has to-be-thought-of.

    Description: In view of the increasing number of social enterprises in recent years, the European Commission (2020) has undertaken a mapping study (2014-2020) of social ecosystems in order to understand their evolution, activities, and professional profiles. In Italy, workers in social enterprises account for 53% (ISTAT 2020) of the majority of which consist of/include workers in the social and care services. It is specifically within these services that the «value of knowledge and skills that are not only specifically technical-professional but also strategic and transversal, cognitive and metacognitive, reflective» (Epifani 2003, 23) is becoming increasingly important, in line with the current indications of the European Skills Agenda (European Commission 2021). This phenomenon concerns even more particularly the intermediate functions, i.e. those support positions, which in part hold management and coordination functions (Abhervé and Dubois 2009). In light of this framework, this study investigates the figure of the personal services coordinator, i.e. a second-level professional who, working both in the educational and in the managerial, combines his actions between very different areas of competence.

    Description: Eco-territorialism focuses its proposal on the relationship between environmental issues and the territory. For sociology, this is a partly unprecedented challenge. Indeed, environmental sociology has never taken an explicit territorial posture, while territorial sociology has always considered the environment a physical extension that frames human actions. An eco-territorialist sociology, on the other hand, must focus on the logic of ecosystems interacting with society, looking at environmental crises place by place. In the chapter, three sociological perspectives are identified in order to recompose them in an eco-territorial key: Latour and Callon's Actor Network Theory, which reincorporates biophysical worlds and artefacts into agency; Ploeg's rural sociology, which looks at the co-evolution between social and ecological systems; Gough's eco-welfare, which points to a new welfare paradigm capable of sustaining itself outside of growth.

    Description: Nowadays, scientific literacy is a key aspect for active citizenship and for making informed decisions regarding scientific issues of everyday life. However, the PISA 2018 data highlight the low scientific competence of the upper secondary school students, underlining the need to foster STEM teaching. In particular, the use of the so-called X-Reality for acquiring scientific skills and to increase interest in the discipline seem promising. During the first year of my PhD, I carried out a scoping review on STEM teaching with X-Reality in the context of secondary school. The main purpose was to draw a state-of-the-art regarding X-Reality use, focusing on potential, critical aspects and challenges. After the search and selection process, 10 articles were included in the analysis. The results showed the effectiveness of X-Reality in promoting the achievement of learning objectives, the interest in the discipline and the long-term retention of knowledge. These results will be the starting point for setting up the empirical part of the PhD project.

    Description: The contribution reconstructs the work of innovation carried out by Cosimo Ridolfi in the Agricultural Institute of Meleto in Val d'Elsa, as a paradigmatic example of the relationship between theory and practice and a model example of school-work alternation.     Description: One of David Sassoli's most outstanding initiatives was the Conference on the Future of Europe, concluded in 2022, which aimed to promote the European construction based on the voices of citizens. Given the Europe's historical relevance in the development of science and technology and my own European experience, I comment on this Sassoli's "political testament", highlighting three major challenges for Europe and arguing that, in addition to science and technology, the future of the European Union must be based on the values ​​he espoused.

    Description: Learning devices can be embedded into organizational contexts. Through them learning processes can be intentionally activated as to transform employees while working. Workplaces have their own learning potential due to their high level of structuring and regulation. Their learning potential transform organizational actors while they are in the productive actions. Identifying embedded learning processes helps in intercepting learning valencies of workplace experiences and observing learning actions that can lead to transformative processes. Results of related research activities are presented in the volume. They have been carried out in more than ten years of research implemented in three types of organisations: business, museum, prison. Research experiences are analysed by using a model of study that is based on the reconstruction of the learning processes as they are experienced by the actors considered. Moreover the model is based on the analysis of learning actions that are embedded into the productive and service provision processes. Factors and conditions are analysed as well through which organisations can act on employees transformation.

    Description: The keynote of the recent history of the faculty of educational science of Florence University is change. This has emerged in response to the demands for education expressed by a new knowledge society, spawned by the processes of globalisation, and the social need to foster interculturalism and the dialogue between diversities. In this new dimension of change, education becomes the framework for preparation, but also for re-integrating and updating life itineraries that are swift and precarious, veined with insecurity and disillusionment. Even in the new approach, the scientific and cultural benchmark continues to be a consistent adherence to the secular, historic-pedagogic and educational tradition represented by the masters of the "Florence School". Since its creation in 1996, the new faculty has staked forcefully on the centrality of training in relation to the traditional focus on the professionalism of primary and secondary school teachers, and on the new extra-scholastic training issues: the educational professions; pedagogic care; the social education of adults; the technologies of education and instruction; the philosophic, sociological, psychological and anthropological dimension of education; the broad sphere of hardship and marginalisation and the different faces of diversity.

    Description: Hvordan kan lærerutdanningen gi kommende lærere kompetanse i å arbeide med globale og flerkulturelle spørsmål, og hvordan kan praksis eller lengre utenlandsopphold fremme studentenes interkulturelle kompetanse og globale bevissthet? Denne antologien belyser disse spørsmålene fra ulike vinkler og ulike fagtradisjoner. Internasjonalisering i lærerutdanningen dreier seg gjerne om internasjonal praksis, og mange lærerutdanningsinstitusjoner har drevet med praksis i det globale sør i ulike varianter gjennom mange år. Bidragene i antologien er alle skrevet av fagansatte ved norske lærerutdanninger, som kommer fra ulike fagfelt som engelsk, norsk, pedagogikk, sosiologi, antropologi og samfunnsgeografi. Dette illustreres ved bruk av forskjellig teoretisk tilnærming, empirisk materiale og ulike analyseteknikker. Alle bidragene har kvalitative tilnærminger, hvor leseren møter både lærerstudentenes stemmer og stemmene til samarbeidspartnere i sør. Kapitlene belyser praksis og utenlandssemestre i Zambia, Namibia, Tanzania og Sør-Afrika. Ett kapittel dreieseg om praksis i en flyktningleir. Antologien reiser også kritiske spørsmål omkring internasjonalisering og hvordan det også innebærer en risiko for nykolonialisme, og at studentene kan se verden gjennom et «turistblikk». Det argumenteres for hvordan dette kan unngås gjennom grundig forberedelse, oppfølging og etterarbeid. Dette er den første antologien som omhandler forskning på praksis og lengre opphold i det globale sør, og den henvender seg til en bred målgruppe: fra politikere og byråkrater som legger til rette for studentmobilitet i høyere utdanning, til forskere, profesjonsutdannere og studenter. For profesjonsutdanninger som i dag har praksis i sør, vil bidragene kunne gi viktig innsikt i forberedelse før, oppfølging underveis og refleksjoner i etterkant av praksisoppholdet.     Description: In a complex, global, multicultural and post-modern society such as the contemporary one, the concepts of "democracy", citizenship "and" training” are undergoing a more urgent and necessary rethinking, which is tracing more and more constant new variations, contaminations and interconnections. On the one hand citizenship has become today active and participatory, as today it can be exercised. On the other hand, volunteering can be a response to the need for participation claimed by contemporary societies: the donation of blood, a particular declination of the traditional concept of gift, is seen as an opportunity to participate in community life and to exercise active and responsible citizenship. From this point of view, the subject is the main actor and protagonist of contemporary processes, and must be trained in understanding the complexity of the notion of citizenship.

    Description: In the period following the Second World War Giulio Preti was one of the leading exponents of Italian philosophy. A master of open critical thought, cultivated in the light of a rationalism that dialogued with, and integrated into his own philosophical model, many of the currents and stances of the global research scenario. Phenomenology, Marxism, pragmatism, neopositivism, transcendentalism and structuralism: in Preti all of these found an organic and original synthesis. Further, his particular brand of rationalist-critical thought touched on many aspects of philosophical knowledge: theoretical philosophy, the philosophy of science, that of language and that of art, from ethics to politics and even taking in the history of philosophy, offering authoritative contributions in every sphere. One hundred years after his birth, the University of Florence and the heir to the Faculty in which he lectured at length, the Faculty of Education, has decided to honour his memory with this anthology of studies, penned by former pupils and others and also by younger scholars, to once again focus the wealth of this thought and its, in many respects, current relevance. Even now, this particular brand of open, critical rationalism can offer a benchmark for addressing the new issues for philosophical reflection thrown up by modern society and culture.

    Description: Over the last years, the interest in teachers’ digital competence has become the object of increasing attention. The progressive digitalization of our societies led the European legislator, in 2006, to reformulate the framework of key competences, introducing digital competence among the new knowledge that school has to promote. Of course, both future and in-service teachers need to be prepared to favour students’ digital skills. This brought the European Commission to release in 2017 the DigCompEdu framework. In this chapter, we will first review some of the main conceptual models inspiring the reflection and research around teachers’ knowledge and digital skills. Then, we will focus on the DigComEdu framework, to illustrate its main areas of competences and the operational values.

    Description: For some years now the Universities have assumed a dynamic role in fostering the enhancement of enterprise, making a direct contribution to the strategic management of intellectual property and the transfer of research deliverables, as well as in the training of potential entrepreneurs and the creation of structures offering support to new enterprises. Through the elaboration of empirical evidence from two quite different and hardly comparable institutional contexts – the American Babson College and the Italian University of Florence – this study analyses the potential activities of entrepreneurial matrix, in terms of relations, resources and incentives, offered for the use of young businesses in the start-up phase.
