    Description: Geçmişte yaşanan iklim değişikliklerinin nedenlerinin ve etkilerinin anlaşılması, insanoğlunun gelecekte karşılaşacağı çevresel değişiklikleri önceden tahmin etmesi ve önlemler alması açısından önem arz etmektedir. İnsanın yeryüzündeki varlık süresince, yani Kuvaterner’de yaşanan iklim değişiklikleri, buzul ve buzularası çağlarının yaşanmasına yol açarak, yer küreyi ve üzerinde yaşayan canlıların hayatını şekillendirmiştir. Ülkemiz de Kuvaterner buzullaşmalarının etkisinde kalmış ve Anadolu’nun farklı bölgelerindeki yüksek alanlarda gelişen buzulların bazıları günümüze kadar ulaşmıştır. İklim değişikliği etkisiyle ortadan kalkan buzulların oluşturduğu yer şekilleri ise çoğu sahada korunmuştur. Anadolu’daki buzullaşmalar ve bunlara ait yer şekilleri araştırmacılar tarafından sıklıkla çalışılmış olmakla birlikte morfometrik analizler sınırlı sayıda araştırmada uygulanabilmiştir. Buzul morfometrisi konusunda yeni yöntem ve yaklaşımlar son buzul çağının etkilerini daha net anlaşılmamıza imkân tanımaktadır. Bu araştırma kitabı ile Batı Torosların doğu ucunda yer alan ve daha önce literatürde geçmeyen Kuvaterner buzullaşmalarının izlerinin yaygın bir şekilde gördüğümüz Kuşak Dağı’nın jeomorfolojik özelliklerini arazi çalışmaları ve İHA verileri kullanarak haritalamak, ayrıca morfometrik analizlerle Kuşak Dağı ve Batı Toroslar hakkında paleoiklimsel değerlendirmelerde bulunmak hedeflenmiştir. Yine bu kitapta buzul jeomorfolojisi konusunda yeni yöntem ve yaklaşımlar ayrıntılı açıklanmaya çalışılarak bu konularda çalışacak genç araştırmacılar için Türkçe kaynak kitabı olması amaçlanmıştır.

    Description: Ausias March (1400-1459) lebte in einer Zeit der Umbrüche: Die letzten Gewissheiten des Mittelalters machten dem Geist der frühen Neuzeit Platz; das Bürgertum beginnt dem Adel ernsthaft Konkurrenz zu machen und die Ideale der hohen Minne der okzitanischen Trobadore geraten ins Schwanken Zugleich bricht König Alfons V. von Aragonien nach Italien auf, um dort König von Neapel zu werden und so die Königreiche der Aragonesischen Krone in Personalunion mit dem italienischen Süden zu verbinden. Der daraus resultierende rege kulturelle Austausch bringt die Ideen und Moden der italienischen Renaissance auch nach Valencia, der damals größten Stadt der iberischen Halbinsel. Es folgt das segle d'or de les lletres valencianes - das "goldene Jahrhundert der valencianischen Literatur", das als Vorläufer des darauffolgenden Siglo de oro der kastilischen Literatur gesehen werden kann. Im Bereich der Lyrik ist Ausias March zweifellos der wichtigste Repräsentant dieses Goldenen Zeitalters. Die vorliegende Anthologie führt ein in Leben und Werk und präsentiert 30 ausgewählte Gedichte im katalanischen Original und in einer metrischen deutschen Übersetzung.

    Description: How the Steel Was Tempered in East Asia. Nikolai Ostrovsky’s novel How Steel Was Tempered (1932-34) tells the story of a young Ukrainian man named Pavel Korchagin who sacrifices his life and body to forge a steel-like spirit amid revolution, civil war, and postwar socialist construction. Although his physical injuries, which left him paralyzed and even blind, looks somehow grotesque, but his heroic self-sacrifice also had the power to inspire young readers. Regarded as an exemplary work of Soviet socialist realism, it was translated into many languages and read avidly at one time by left-wing readers in the West as well as in the Communist countries in the East. It was particularly influential in China, where it is so popular that even today it is invariably named as one of the favorite books of university students. This is in contrast to post-Soviet Russia today, in which the novel has lost the privileged position it once enjoyed and is no longer widely read. In China under the socialist regime, Ostrovsky’s novel was published in large numbers as suitable reading for young people and incorporated into school education. However, their active introduction in the public sphere alone does not explain their popularity. Chinese readers seem to have become deeply emotionally involved in the protagonist’s unsuccessful love affair with Tonya, a young girl whose bourgeois gestures and characterization must have been considered negative. As a result, the Soviet ideological novel has brought an unexpected meaning of European-style romantic love for Chinese readers. This presentation will trace the reception of Ostrovsky’s novel and the changes in the heroine Tonya’s image by comparing five adaptations: two Soviet films in 1942 and 1957, a Chinese lianhuanhua (serial picture book) in 1972, a Japanese manga in 1975, and a Chinese TV drama in 1999.

Для исследования выбран поуровневый метод описания. На иллюстративных примерах показывается, как креативность проявляет себя на разных уровнях организации текста: фонетико-орфографическом, словообразовательном, лексико-семантическом, грамматическом – и как уровни взаимодействуют друг с другом. İkinci bölümde dışbükey fonksiyonlar ve temel özellikleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Üçüncü ve Dördüncü bölümler, bu kitabın temel çalışma konusu olan Young fonksiyonları ve Orlicz fonksiyon uzaylarına ayrılmıştır. Beşinci bölüm kitabın ana hedefini oluşturmaktadır. Burada İstanbul Üniversitesi, Matematik Bölümünde bu kitabın yazarları tarafından Orlicz uzayları üzerine yapılan bilimsel çalışmalardan ve uygulamalardan kesitler sunulmuştur.     Description: The word orphan, derived from the root “yütm” meaning “to be alone, to be left alone”, expresses the uniqueness of the object. Being an orphan can be understood as a child being unprotected in terms of meeting his/her basic needs and observing his/her rights. Although the duty of protection and support is traditionally attributed to the father, it would be more appropriate to understand the concept of an orphan as a child who has lost material and spiritual support that would protect him from dangers even if his parents are alive. The fact that the term orphan is used in daily language in our civilization to evoke this situation also confirms the meaning. Our Holy Qur’an emphasizes the importance of protecting the rights of certain social groups to strengthen justice and solidarity in society. In the process of building a just and peaceful world, the poor, stranded travelers, close relatives, neighbors, and the needy can be immediately listed among these groups whose rights should be respected first and foremost. Among these groups, orphans are another group that is particularly emphasized. Orphanhood is not only associated with not being wealthy. Since orphanhood is used for children who are not capable of protecting and defending their rights, it is also a concept directly related to children’s rights. Therefore, treating the phenomenon of orphanhood within child rights will significantly contribute to understanding rights and freedom. A system of thought based on the protection of all children in this situation and the institutionalization of social solidarity in light of this can initiate a process that will bring about a perspective and institutionalization that can be extended to all rights. For all these reasons, it is of great importance that the Symposium on Orphans and Abandoned Children, which deals with the phenomenon of orphanhood from a scientific point of view and brings together academics, experts, and practitioners from different disciplines related to the subject, was organized on the World Children’s Day and that the academic papers here have been published as a book.

    Description: “Yalnız olmak, tek başına kalmak” anlamındaki “yütm” kökünden türeyen yetîm kelimesi nesnenin tekliğini ifade eder. Çocuğun yetim kalması ise aslî ihtiyaçlarının karşılanması, himaye edilmesi ve haklarının korunması bakımından sahipsiz kalması olarak anlaşılabilir. Geleneksel olarak himaye etme ve destek olma vazifesi babaya nispet edilse de, yetim kavramını bir çocuğun ebeveynleri sağ olsa da onu tehlikelerden koruyacak her türlü desteği yitirmiş olması olarak anlamak daha yerinde olacaktır. Medeniyet iklimimizde günlük dilde yetim ifadesinin bu durumu çağrıştıracak şekilde kullanılması da anlamı teyit etmektedir. Yüce kitabımız Kur’an-ı Kerim toplumda adaletin ve dayanışmanın güçlenmesi için bazı sosyal grupların haklarının gözetilmesinin önemine vurgu yapmaktadır. Adil ve barış içinde bir dünyanın inşa sürecinde hakları en başta gözetilmesi gereken bu gruplar içinde, yoksullar, yolda kalmışlar, yakın akrabalar, komşular, muhtaçlar hemen sıralanabilir. İşte bu gruplar arasında özellikle vurgulanan bir diğer grup yetimlerdir. Yetimlik sadece varsıl olmamakla ilişkilendirilemez. Yetimlik, haklarını koruyabilecek ve savunabilecek yeterlikte olmayan çocuklar için kullanıldığından doğrudan çocuk hakları ile ilgili bir kavram olarak da karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Dolayısıyla yetimlik olgusunu çocuk hakları içinde değerlendirmek, hak ve özgürlükler anlayışına da önemli katkılar yapabilecek bir yaklaşımı beraberinde getirecektir. Böyle durumda olan tüm çocukları korumayı esas alan bir düşünce sistemi ve bunun ışığında sosyal dayanışmanın kurumsal hale getirilmesi, tüm haklara teşmil edilebilecek bir bakış açısını ve kurumsallaşmayı beraberinde getirecek süreci başlatabilir. Tüm bu nedenlerle yetimlik olgusunu bilimsel bir bakış ile ele alan, konu ile ilgili farklı disiplinlerden akademisyenleri, uzmanları ve uygulayıcıları bir araya getiren Yetim ve Kimsesiz Çocuklar Sempozyumu’nun Dünya Çocuk Hakları Gününde düzenlenmiş olması ve buradaki tebliğlerin kitaplaşmış olması çok büyük önem arz etmektedir.

    Description: Narratives of Violence is a contribution to the ethical turn in literary studies. In the current context of systemic political violence unleashed in the wake of 9/11 and the global advance of capitalism and neoliberalism, literature constitutes a particularly timely device to raise awareness about injustice, the abuse of power, and the violation of human rights. Literature may also be helpful in order to face social challenges such as peaceful coexistence with immigrants and displaced people, and the settling of refugees. This book is an invitation to read a selection of narratives of violence anchored in different geopolitical realities, and located in historical contexts ranging from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. By adopting ethical criticism in order to tackle the dilemmas posed by these stories, we aim to contribute to the configuration of global imaginaries based on respect, recognition, and empathy, especially towards those who are most vulnerable. This collection offers critical readings of works of various genres, originally written in different languages. Authors discussed comprise Mrīrīda nʾait ʿAtiq (Morocco), Janina Hescheles (Poland), Eva Koch (Denmark), María Galindo (Bolivia) and Sonia Sánchez (Argentina), Najat El Hachmi (Morocco-Catalonia), Arundhati Roy (India), Leila Abdelrazaq (Palestine), and Yū Miri, Murata Sayaka, and Kawakami Mieko (Japan). The corpus includes biographical, autobiographical, testimonial, and fictional narratives, sometimes very close to documentary or life history. The works analysed in this collection portray experiences of violence and oppression caused by social, political, economic, and military conflicts. The novelty of this book lies in the challenge it poses to the Western-centric and patriarchal bias often found in similar collections of scholarly essays. Thus, the book focuses on female authors, seeking to give visibility and voice to women victims, generally forgotten in hegemonic cultural discourses.

    Description: Social reportages are written by reporters who fight for the weak and expose injustices. So it is said in the profession, in handbooks and among the genre’s supporters. But what is hidden behind the ideal? And what does the commitment look like when it is converted into text? This book highlights reportages by some of the 20th century’s most celebrated Swedish reporters and examines the ways in which their texts convey a commitment to the reader. The narratologically based analyses are performed against a background of changing ideas about a reporter’s role in society. It turns out that the commitment is often time-related and can be counteracted by generalizing values about the depicted people. Here, the difference between empathy and compassion becomes crucial. The selected reporters represent Swedish social reportage at central turning points within the tradition. Ester Blenda Nordström and Gustaf Hellström have been chosen for the 1910s, Ivar Lo-Johansson for the years around 1930, Barbro Alving for the 1950s, Jan Guillou for the 1970s and Maciej Zaremba and Karen Söderberg for the 1990s and 2000s.

    Description: This book highlights the diverse roles of the humanities in the history of the Swedish welfare society. This society has often been seen as dominated by an instrumental view of knowledge that rewarded the social sciences, natural sciences and technology, but the contributions in this book show the significant role that the humanities played in the Swedish welfare state. Various forms of humanistic knowledge and knowledge actors were part of large networks and left a clear mark on the public sphere and society at large. A narrative of the marginalization and crisis of the humanities in the postwar period must therefore be problematized. This edited volume brings together some twenty scholars from a number of humanities disciplines (history, history of ideas, media history, literary studies, archaeology, education, etc.). Much of the current research on the history of the humanities conducted in Sweden today is brought together here and put in relation to international discussions in fields such as history of humanities, history of knowledge, etc. The book is a sibling to the monograph Humanister i offentligheten, which was published in 2022.

Realistic utopias, tensions and everyday experiences, 24 researchers explore how resistance to various forms of racism is pursued and embodied among groups of people who dream beyond racism in a variety of ways, often contradictory, rarely successful, but always stubborn and forward-looking. The anthology illustrates the breadth of anti-racism, but also analyses its problems and weaknesses. Inspired by anti-, post- and decolonial traditions, among others, together with social movement perspectives, the anthology challenges a static and essentialising approach found in research and policy that tends to emphasise the stability and immutability of inequality, even in the case of racism. In addition to a variety of concrete analyses and descriptions of historical and contemporary activism, the various authors also show the possibilities of anti-racism and can thus provide some hope, in these dark times, for those who want a society without racism.     Description: Vladivostok is likened to the Bosphorus. The remoteness of the Far East made it difficult for the European part of the Russian Empire to recognise Vladivostok geographically. Therefore, through analogy to the Mediterranean, it was consciously integrated into the state. On the other hand, by using kanji combinations, which evoke images of traditional Japanese poetry, the Japanese created a sense of familiarity with Vladivostok. In most cases, regarding the social situation during the Revolutionary and Intervention War periods, researchers’ interest was restricted to the scheme of the conflict between the Red Army and the White Army and the victory or defeat of the October Revolution. However, more than 30 years after the dissolution of the USSR, the events of this period are now being examined by scholars mainly from the perspective of the residents and outsiders in various regions who, without knowing the consequences of the revolution, were both anticipating and anxious about significant social changes. The multicultural nature of the Far East is being discussed on the occasion of the centenary of the Siberian exodus. This article examines the cultural situation in and around Vladivostok, focusing on developments such as the education system and modernist currents in the arts. Vladivostok served as both an entrance to Siberia for the Japanese or other foreign troops and an exit for emigres.

    Description: Reception of Russian Literature of the Silver Age in China. In the late 20th century, there emerged a significant cultural fervor for the Russian literature of the Silver Age within Chinese academic circles, primarily focused on literary studies. This article examines the history of translating Russian literature of the Silver Age in China and its level of research development. It is revealed that, on one hand, the initial attempts at translating literary works of the Silver Age into Chinese began in the first half of the 20th century, with notable activity during the May Fourth Movement and towards the end of the 20th century. Consequently, works by well-known writers had more opportunities to be translated into Chinese and gain attention from the academic community, while many works by lesser-known authors remained overlooked. On the other hand, Chinese scholars’ research on Russian literature of the Silver Age encompasses various literary genres such as poetry, novels, and dramas, with a focus on individual writers and their works. However, comprehensive and systematic studies in this field are still lacking. The examination of the history of translation and the level of research on Russian literature of the Silver Age in China contributes to academic progress, facilitates exchange and collaboration among scholars, provides reference materials and recommendations, and establishes a foundation for further in-depth research.

Almost the health systems of the countries were tested with a test consisting of the same questions. During the pandemic, many unknown equations were intertwined. We had so many unknowns at the beginning of the epidemic. We did not yet clearly know how we approached patients, how to treat them, and what drugs should be given. Over the past two years, much research and many experiences have taught us how to behave against the disease. During the pandemic, we learned by experience how damaging information pollution can be. The epidemic also showed us the vaccine wars. We have seen how valuable the vaccines we use to get rid of the epidemic are, how developed countries have entered vaccine wars, and the change in the dynamics of the epidemic with vaccination. The years 2020-2022 will be defined as the epidemic years. During this epidemic, we saw that it was precious for physicians to get the correct information. This source has been tried to be created thanks to the fact that it has written down the experiences gained by experiencing this epidemic in person.     Description: COVID-19 hayatımıza girdiği tarihten beri sosyal hayatımızı, çalışma hayatımızı, yaşayışımızı, hasta bakım hizmetlerini, araştırmalarımızı ve hatta davranış tarzımızı etkiledi. Üstelik bu öyle bir salgın ki sadece bir ülkede değil, bütün dünya ülkelerinde aynı zamanda ve benzer yoğunlukta etkilendi. Adeta ülkelerin sağlık sistemleri aynı sorulardan oluşan bir sınavla sınandı. Salgın sırasında birçok bilinmeyen denklem iç içe idi. Salgın başında o kadar çok bilinmeyenimiz vardı ki. Hastalara nasıl yaklaştığımızı, nasıl tedavi vereceğimizi ve hangi ilaçların verilmesi gerektiğini henüz net bir şekilde bilmiyorduk. Geçen iki yıl zarfında birçok araştırma ve birçok deneyim bizim hastalığa karşı nasıl davranmamız gerektiğini öğretti. Salgın sırasında bilgi kirliliğinin ne kadar zarar verebilir olduğunu yaşayarak öğrendik. Salgın bize birde aşı savaşlarını gösterdi. Salgından kurtulmak için kullandığımız aşıların ne kadar değerli olduğunu, gelişmiş ülkelerin nasıl aşı savaşlarına girdiğini aşılama ile beraber salgın dinamiklerindeki değişimi gördük. 2020-2022 yılları salgın yılları olarak tanımlanacaktır. Bu salgın sırasında hekimlerin doğru bilgilerin ulaşmasının çok değerli olduğunu gördük. Elinizdeki bu kaynak salgını bizzat yaşayarak elde edilen tecrübelerini yazıya dökmesi sayesinde oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Kitabın oluşturulmasındaki emeği olan tüm arkadaşlarımıza içten teşekkürlerimizi arz ediyoruz. Bu kitabın okuyuculara fayda getirmesini diliyoruz.     Description: Turkic World studies seem to be a topic that attracts scientific attention day by day. The continuous increase in cooperation, rapprochement, and mobility between Turkish-speaking countries and communities since 1991 might be shown as the main dynamic behind this interest. The richness of the Turkic Republics in terms of natural resources, their location on the energy and transportation corridors, the change of the balances in the Caucasus with the Second Karabakh War in 2020, and the transition of the Turkic Council from a cooperation organization to an interstate organization in 2021 under the name of the "Organization of Turkic States" also accelerate the work of the Turkic World. In the meantime, the popularization of some geopolitical determinations and predictions in the context of scientific interest in the region can be shown as an important factor. Similar to the rise of Europe in the industrial age, we can talk about the rise of Asia in the information age. The sources of political and economic power are shifting to Asian geopolitics and this process continues to strengthen. Such analyses and predictions, which bring to the agenda that in the 2050s, Asia will regain its former central position also encourage academic interest in Central Asia. This book is the product of the goal of creating an original work for the Turkish World with gap-filling parameters and process analyses determined by a meticulous preliminary study in the light of the mentioned background. In this direction, three basic perspectives such as the effort to determine the capacities of the countries with comparative analyses, to look at the Turkish World from the perspective of problems, and to embody the Turkish World based on the community, autonomous region, and country sections dominate the work. With comparative analyses, it has been tried to embody the capacities of the countries within the parameters such as sustainable development potential, transportation systems, scientific performance, evolution in the political system, education system, and values of education. On the other hand, the crises affecting the Turkic World were discussed with the analysis of Karabakh, which is the main crisis, and the Russia-Ukraine War, which is the current crisis. On the other hand, the analysis of the thirty-year process in the Turkish World, starting from the scales of the community, autonomous region, and country, was carried out through the examples of Georgia, Tatarstan, and Uzbekistan.

    Description: Türk Dünyası çalışmaları bilimsel ilgiyi giderek üzerine çeken bir konu başlığı görünümündedir. Bu ilginin arka planında yer alan başlıca dinamik olarak, Türkçe konuşan ülke ve topluluklar arasında 1991 yılından bugüne; iş birliği, yakınlaşma ve mobilitedeki sürekli artış gösterilebilir. Türk Cumhuriyetlerinin doğal kaynaklar bakımından zengin olması, aynı zamanda enerji ve ulaşım koridorları üzerinde yer almaları, 2020’deki İkinci Karabağ Savaşıyla Kafkasya’daki dengelerin değişmesi ve Türk Konseyi’nin 2021 yılında “Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı” adını alarak bir iş birliği örgütünden devletlerarası teşkilata geçiş süreci içine girmesi gibi gelişmeler de Türk Dünyası çalışmalarına ivme kazandırmaktadır. Bu arada bölgeye olan bilimsel ilgi bağlamında bazı jeopolitik tespit ve öngörülerin popülerleşmesinden de bahsedilebilir. Buna göre sanayi çağında Avrupa’nın yükselişine benzer bir şekilde bilgi çağında da Asya’nın yükselişi söz konusudur. Politik ve ekonomik güç kaynakları Asya jeopolitiğine kaymakta ve bu süreç güçlenerek devam etmektedir. Asya’nın 2050’li yıllarda eski merkezi konumuna tekrar ulaşacağını gündeme taşıyan bu tarz analiz ve öngörüler Orta Asya’ya yönelik akademik ilgiyi de teşvik edici niteliktedir. Bu kitap bahsedilen arka planın ışığı altında, titiz bir ön çalışmayla belirlenen boşluk doldurucu parametreler ve süreç analizleriyle Türk Dünyasına yönelik özgün bir eser oluşturma hedefinin ürünüdür. Bu doğrultuda; karşılaştırmalı analizlerle ülke kapasitelerini belirleme çabası, Türk Dünyasına sorunlar penceresinden bakma ve yine Türk Dünyasını topluluk, özerk bölge ve ülke kesitlerinden hareketle somutlaştırma gibi üç temel bakış açısı esere hâkimdir. Karşılaştırmalı analizlerle ülke kapasitelerini somutlaştırma; sürdürülebilir kalkınma potansiyeli, ulaşım sistemleri, bilimsel performans, siyasal sistemdeki evrim, eğitim sistemi ve değerler eğitimi gibi parametreler dâhilinde gerçekleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Türk Dünyasını etkileyen krizler ise; başlıca kriz konumunda olan Karabağ ve güncel kriz olan Rusya-Ukrayna Savaşına yönelik analizlerle ele alınmıştır. Türk Dünyasındaki otuz yıllık sürece topluluk, özerk bölge ve ülke ölçeklerinden hareketle göz atma ise; Gürcistan, Tataristan ve Özbekistan örnekleri üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir.

    Description: Yaşlanma, hayatın kaçınılmaz ve ertelenemez bir parçasıdır. Yaşlanma ile birlikte hücrelerimizde ve organlarımızda fonksiyonel ve yapısal önemli değişiklikler olmaktadır. Dünyada 20.Yüzyılın başında başlayan hızlı nüfus artışı ile birlikte yaşam şartlarında düzelme ve tedavi seçeneklerinin artması yaşlı nüfus sayısının da artmasına neden olmuştur. 2030 yılında, dünya üzerinde her altı kişiden birinin 60 yaş üzerinde olacağı öngörülmüştür. 80 yaş üzerindeki bireylerin ise 426 milyon olması beklenmektedir. Bu artış nedeniyle tek başına “yaşlı” kavramı yeterli olmamış, genç yaşlılık (65-74 yaş), orta yaşlılık (75-84 yaş) ileri yaşlılık (〉85 yaş) kavramlarının kullanılması gerektiği öne sürülmüştür. Bir ülkenin yaşlı nüfusunun toplam nüfusa oranı %8-10 arasında olması ülkenin ‘’yaşlı’’, %10 üzerinde olması ‘’çok yaşlı’’ olduğu anlamına gelmektedir. Ülkemizde bu oranın 2050 yılından %20.8 olması beklenmektedir. 2030 yılında ise ortalama yaşam süresi 74-79 yıl olacaktır. Yaşlanmanın toplumlarda artışı bazı sağlık sorunlarının daha sık görülmesine neden olmaktadır. Buna paralel olarak 65 yaş üzerindeki bireylerin dahili hastalıkları, psikososyal yaşamları ve beraberinde koruyucu sağlık hizmetleri ile ilgilenen geriatri bilim dalı giderek artan bir öneme sahip olmaktadır. Yaşlanma, diğer organ sistemlerinde olduğu gibi böbreklerde de moleküler, fonksiyonel ve yapısal değişikliklere neden olmaktadır. Yaşlanmaya yanıt olarak böbreklerde hemodinamik ve fizyolojik önemli değişiklikler ortaya çıkar. İyileşme süresi uzar, hasarlanmaya dayanma yeteneği azalır. Ayrıca yaşla birlikte artan ve böbrek hastalıklarının en önemli nedenlerinden olan hipertansiyon ve diyabet gibi hastalıklarda akut ve kronik böbrek hastalığının yaşlılarda daha sık görülmesine neden olur. Yaşlılarda, böbrek hastalığının yanı sıra çoklu hastalıkların birlikte olması, polifarmasi ihtiyacı, ilaç metabolizmasının karaciğer fonksiyonlarındaki değişiklikler gibi çeşitli nedenlerle farklılaşması nefrologların ya da böbrek hastalıklarının tedavisi ile uğraşan hekimlerin günlük pratiklerinde göz önünde bulundurmaları gereken kavramlardır. Ne yazık ki geriatrik nefroloji kavramı, nefroloji ve İç hastalıkları eğitimi içinde yeterli öneme kavuşamamıştır. Ülkemizde ve dünya da geriatrik nefroloji alanında az sayıda bilimsel çalışma mevcuttur. Konuyla ilgili başvuru kitabı ise hemen hemen hiç yoktur. Bu alandaki boşluğu kısmen de olsa doldurmayı amaçlayan bu kitap nefroloji ve geriatri bilim dallarında çalışan bilim insanlarının katkıları ve özverileriyle oluşmuştur.

    Description: With the onset of integration of web technologies into our lives, a global transformation process has been triggered and traditional approaches have tended to evolve into digital organisms as a past aspect of the millennium line. The one-way information transfer process, which was activated with the Web 1.0 era, took root on the basis of content sharing and 'collaboration' with Web 2.0, and was characterized in a 'smart' and 'individualized' form with the Web 3.0, and eventually ended up searching for an artificial intelligence-oriented direction. The developments in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing algorithms, on the other hand, were crowned with the Web 4.0 technology, and the artificial intelligence-based virtual reality atmospheres became the center of attention as the new phenomenon of digital. As far as the relevant perspective is concerned, it is possible to say that today's modernization standards are shaped within the framework of technology. While the parameters of the 'new generation world' are built on the digital plane, the 'new generation of people' generations develop specifically in the skills of this plane.

    Description: Web teknolojilerinin hayatımıza entegre olmaya başlamasıyla küresel çaplı bir dönüşüm süreci tetiklenmiş ve geleneksel yaklaşımlar, milenyum çizgisinin geçmişte kalan yönü olarak dijital organizmalara evrilme trendinde bir yönelim içerisine girmişlerdir. Web 1.0 dönemi ile aktif hale gelen tek yönlü bilgi aktarımı süreci, Web 2.0 ile içerik paylaşımı’ ve ‘iş birliği’ yapabilme temelinde kök salmış; Web 3.0 ile ‘akıllı’ ve ‘bireyselleştirilmiş’ bir formda karakterize edilerek yapay zeka eksenli bir yön bulma arayışı içerisine girmiştir. Makine öğrenmesi, derin öğrenme ve doğal dil işleme algoritmalarındaki gelişmeler ise Web 4.0 teknolojisiyle taçlanmış ve yapay zeka tabanlı sanal gerçeklik atmosferleri, dijitalin yeni fenomeni olarak ilgi odağı haline gelmiştir. İlgili perspektiften hareketle; günümüz modernizasyon standartlarının teknoloji çerçevesinde şekil aldığını söyleyebiliriz. ‘Yeni nesil dünya’ parametreleri, dijital düzlem üzerine inşa edilirken ‘yeni nesil insan’ jenerasyonları ise bu düzlem becerileri özelinde gelişim göstermektedir. Covid 19 sonrası yaşanan süreçle birlikte bilginin, dijitalde yapılandığı ivme hız kazanmış ve teknoloji tabanlı pedagojik paradigmalar ön plana çıkmaya başlamıştır. Bu paradigmaların öğrenme ortamlarına yansımasıyla geleneksel sınıf atmosferleri algısında radikal değişikliklerin meydana geldiğini söylemek mümkündür. Dijital eğitim uygulamaları, yüz yüze eğitim metodunun bir alternatifi olmanın ötesinde pedagojinin başat unsuru olma yönünde hızla gelişim gösterirken öğretmen ve öğrenci arasındaki etkileşim süreci, çevrim içi merkezli öğretim tasarımları merceğinde desenlenme dönüşümü göstermektedir. Dil eğitimi sahası da ilgili entegrasyondan etkilenmekte ve yeni nesil dil becerileri, dijital yeterlikler ekseninde evrim geçirme haliyle karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Dolayısıyla yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretimi olgusu, yabancı dil olarak dijital Türkçe öğretimi çerçevesinde kavramsallaşmakta; bir başka deyişle teknoloji tabanlı beceriler odaklı örnek dil tanımlayıcılarıyla (illustrative descriptors) betimlenme eğilimi sergilemektedir. İlgili önem durumu, bu çalışmanın biçimlenmesine zemin hazırlamış ve Yabancı Dil Olarak Dijital Türkçe Öğretimi kitabı, teknolojik adaptasyonun getirdiği bir ihtiyacı karşılama güdüsüyle ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu bağlamdan hareketle çalışmanın ortaya çıkış amacının; sanal ortamlarda web araçlarıyla uygulanacak yabancı dil öğretimine ilişkin dijital bir farkındalık kazandırmak amaçlanmıştır. Yabancı Dil Olarak Dijital Türkçe Öğretimi; ‘Dijital Öğrenme ve Yabancı Dil Öğretimine İlişkin Teorik Çerçeve’, ‘Dijital Beceri Alanlarına İlişkin Web Tabanlı Uygulama Araçları, ‘Dijital Öğrenme Ortamı Yapılandırmaya İlişkin Web Tabanlı Uygulama Araçları’, ‘Dijital Öğretim Materyallerine İlişkin Web Tabanlı Uygulama Araçları’, ‘Dijital Ölçme ve Değerlendirme Etkinliklerine İlişkin Web Tabanlı Uygulama Araçları’ ve ‘Dijital Öğretim ‘Yaklaşımlarına İlişkin Yenilikçi Uygulamalar’ olmak üzere altı alt başlık temelinde yapılandırılmış 22 bölümden meydana gelmektedir. Araştırma kapsamında tanıtılan dijital uygulama araçlarının, her bölüm içeriğinin kendi temasına uygun olacak şekilde uygulama örnekleri ve etkinlikler üzerinden somutlaştırılması esas alınmıştır. Dolayısıyla çalışma sınırları çerçevesinde tanıtılan aynı dijital araçların, farklı bölüm metinlerinde farklı işlevlerine yönelik çeşitli özelliklerinin zengin örneklendirmeler aracılığıyla ön plana çıkartılmasına dikkat edilmiştir. İlgili düzlemde çalışmadan yararlanacak olan araştırmacı, eğitmen ve eğitmen adaylarına; dijital teknoloji araçlarının yabancı dil öğretiminde kullanımına ilişkin geniş bir perspektif sunmak temel ilke edinilmiştir. Çalışmada yer alan bölüm içeriklerinin belirli bir kompozisyon ve tutarlılık dahilinde sunulması adına farklı bölümlerde yer alan aynı dijital araçların birbirinden farkı işlev ve detaylı açıklamalarına ilişkin dipnotlar aracılığıyla köprüler oluşturularak bölümler arası bütünlük oluşturulması amaçlanmıştır. Yabancı Dil Olarak Dijital Türkçe Öğretimi kitabında yer verilen her bölüm içeriği, alan uzmanlarının görüşüne başvurularak literatüre katkı sağlayacak şekilde tasarlanması prensibiyle oluşturulmuştur. Bölüm içeriklerinde verilen teorik ve kuramsal çerçeveler, farklı literatür çalışmalarıyla desteklenmiş bilimsel alt yapıya dayalı bir zeminde aktarılması hedeflenmiştir. Dijital araçların sunumu sırasında yapılandırılan etkinlik örneklerinin, CEFR ile uyumlu olması ölçüt alınmış ve otantik bağlamlar üzerinden gerçekçi öğrenme atmosferleri kurgulanarak eğitmen ve eğitmen adaylarının eğitim ortamlarında rahatlıkla uygulayabileceği düzeyde olması temel alınmıştır.

    Description: Korehito Kurahara and “Proletarian Realism”: Proletarian Literature in Japan in 1920s. This paper examines the proletarian literature movement that emerged in Japan in the 1920s, focusing on Korehito Kurahara, a leading proponent. Kurahara studied Russian literature and his theory, “proletarian realism,” was based on concepts promoted by the Russian Association of Proletarian Writers (RAPP). The paper analyzes two of Kurahara’s works from which proletarian realism originated. Both works are based on arguments between leaders of the proletarian writers’ organization and A. Volonsky. After Kurahara, Japan attempted to interpret proletarian literature from the perspective of literary history, which Kurahara incorporated into Japanese literature based on RAPP discussions.     Description: Avaldsnes on Karmøy in Rogaland, which according to Snorre was King Harald Fairhair's royal estate, has been the center of a major research effort since 2007. Extensive excavations have, among other things, uncovered the remains of a lordly settlement from the AD 200s–400s and the ruins of a royal masonry complex from around AD 1300. Important insights have been gained about the place, the region, and the history of the Norwegian kingdom, and the results are also of significance for international scholarly debates. The papers in this book are based on lectures from the Karmøy Seminar 2022, and have a joint spotlight on the nature of lordship and kingship. The themes range from tribal societies in Roman times via the first kings of the Viking Age to the Norwegian kingdom's collapse at Håkon 6. Magnusson's death in 1380. Prominent professionals from Norway, Sweden and England discuss, among other things, the migrations of Ryger, Goths, and other tribes in the continent in the first centuries AD, the queens and queen mothers of the Viking Age, Harald Fairhair's overseas contacts, and the Norwegian kingship's roots in Nordvegen, the sailing route along the western coast of the Scandinavian Peninsula. The papers are written to be readable by scholars as well as the interested public.

    Description: In this book, five experienced Nordic L1-didactitians and teacher educators search for their professional roots as pupils, students, teachers, teacher educators, managers and researchers over a period of fifty years. In the form of the scientific essay, various historical professional struggles and processes that may lie behind this professionalisation are examined, partly from a critical perspective: Academisation, theorising, didacticisation, textualisation, and internationalisation, especially within first language (L1), L1 didactics and L1 didactic research. Documentation and discussion of the complex relationship between institutionalised academic operations and personal and collective knowledge development nevertheless constitute a main line in the presentation. The L1 subjects in which the descriptions are anchored are Danish, Finnish Swedish, Norwegian and Swedish. The contributions provide personal, experience-based, historical representations of the development contextualized with the narrators' own research in the field as well as descriptions of general development trends within schools, education, and society. A framing chapter provides methodological and theoretical premises for the texts and a concluding chapter analyses the content of and discusses the outcome of the essays. The book is aimed at anyone who is interested in the development of professional teacher training on a Nordic basis, especially native language and subject didactics. Although Per-Olof Erixon and Sigmund Ongstad are editors, the book has been created in close collaboration with the other contributors, Sven-Erik Hansén, Ellen Krogh, and Jon Smidt.

The German historian Goetz Hillig saw Makarenko as a world pedagogical genius, created his scientific biography, and published a scholarly edition of his writings in German. Elena Tolstaya looks at The Poem, set in post-revolutionary Ukraine, in the aspect of Russian-Ukrainian bilingualism, and looks for possible responses to the actualities of the late 20s – early 30s.

    Description: The Ukrainian Theme in the Legacy of Vladimir (Ze’ev) Jabotinsky. Vladimir (Ze’ev) Jabotinsky (1880-1940) combined the characteristics of a convinced individualist, a nationalist-statist, and an equally convinced liberal with a tendency toward anarchism. He respected every people’s struggle for independence and called nationalism “the individualism of nations”. In his prose, essays and journalism, Jabotinsky was able to synthesize rational analysis with fearless intuition. This combination enabled him to predict both World Wars I and II and the Holocaust, long before Hitler invaded Poland. As a young man he lived for several years in Italy, which he considered his spiritual homeland. His views were formed, on the one hand, under the influence of Italian socialists, Garibaldi and Italian culture in general, and, on the other hand, under the influence of Ukrainian socialists, champions of independence. He maintained friendly contacts with some of them because he combined his Zionism with Ukrainianophilia, which survived despite the monstrous Jewish pogroms organized by the Petlyura troops in 1919-20. A special theme touched upon in the report is the supposed echoes of Ukrainian spontaneous individualism in Jabotinsky’s anarchist tendencies.

In the proletarian literary movement that flourished in Japan in the 1920s and 1930s, the main goal of proletarian literature was considered for intellectual writers to awaken the will to revolution in working readers. The writer from working class Sunao Tokunaga after the collapse of the revolutionary movement in 1933 began to write stories based on the life and attitude of the working people, offering to “learn from Gorky” and his autobiographical works that depicted the behavior and attitude of people at the bottom of society. At the same time, Tokunaga was involved in the colonial movement of the Japanese Empire of that time, because he, as a result of identification with the Japanese workers, lost sight of the expulsion and oppression of the indigenous people in Manchuria.

    Description: This volume is the result of the debates held at Ca’ Foscari University during the Iberismo(s) study day, aimed at discussing the ethical, theoretical and methodological limits of Iberian Studies and demonstrating their applications. Far from a unidirectional reading, the works gathered here explore the multiple aspects of Iberism, or rather ­Iberisms: different aspects such as the literary, cultural, economic and political ones are taken into account and interpreted on the basis of their plurality – since the diversity of actors, discourses, and contexts makes it impossible to outline a closed narrative. According to Claudio Guillén, “national literature is […] an institution that is not only insufficient, but also spurious and fraudulent”, hence the commitment to redefine this field of study. Moreover, its analytical perspective is associated with the ‘crisis of Hispanism’ as a ‘uninational’ and monolingual paradigm. Iberian Studies as such do not take root in a simple broadening of the object of research in order to give space – and thus a new location – to the more peripheral realities; it is rather a theoretical and methodological reformulation in constant development, as all the essays in this volume attest.

    Description: The Mamluks (648-923/1250-1517), who ruled Egypt, Syria, and the Hijaz region, are considered to be one of the most important Muslim-Turkish states in Islamic history because they put an end to the Crusader threat in Syria and stopped the westward advance of the Mongols (Ilkhanids) who had destroyed the eastern part of the Islamic world. The Mamluks’ establishment of security and stability in their lands enabled the ulama, who were affected by the political turmoil in Andalusia and Anatolia, as well as central Iraq and Iran in the early 7th/13th century, to turn to the Egyptian-Sham region. In addition to the political stability they created, the Mamluks built many scientific institutions in cities such as Cairo, Damascus, Aleppo, and Jerusalem. They provided wide opportunities to scholars, making these cities the most important centers of knowledge. The rich scholarly environment in Egypt and Damascus, which attracted many scholars from various parts of the Islamic world, paved the way for the writing of many works in almost every field of Islamic sciences and the emergence of new and voluminous encyclopedic genres. Thus, an enormous amount of literature was created in fiqh, hadith, tafsīr, kalām, mysticism, philosophy, logic, qirāʾa, sīra, history, and tabāqat. The understanding and interpretation of this literature, which is the result of an unprecedented scholarly effort in Islamic history, requires the contribution of many researchers in different fields. As a result of this need, interest in the scholarly and cultural accumulation of the Mamluk period is increasing both in international academic circles and in our country. Although the number and quality of studies on the political history of the Mamluks are not yet at the desired level, some studies have been conducted in the Turkish literature. However, research on the ulama, scientific institutions, types of works, and the status of Islamic sciences during the Mamluk period is still in its infancy. To overcome this deficiency to some extent, the Institute of Islamic Studies at Istanbul University (then known as the Center for Islamic Studies at Istanbul University) organized a workshop titled Islamic Sciences in the Mamluk Period on 19-20 September 2019. Thus, it was aimed to evaluate the status of the studies on the ulama and Islamic sciences related to the Mamluk period, to propose new research topics in the areas of need, to ensure cooperation among those interested in this field, and to create a basis for future studies. At the end of this workshop, the need to organize an international meeting with wide participation in the scholarly tradition in the Mamluk period was expressed. For this purpose, an international symposium titled The Tradition of Knowledge in the Mamluk Period-I (13th and 14th Centuries) was organized on September 28-29, 2021, hosted by Istanbul University in cooperation with the Institute of Islamic Studies at Istanbul University and the Foundation for Research in Islamic Sciences (ISAV). In the symposium, many researchers made presentations on tafsīr, hadith, fiqh, historiography, philosophy, kalām, mysticism, culture-literature, ulama, and scientific institutions. This book was formed by revising some of the papers presented at the symposium during the publication phase. The full text of the relevant papers has been reviewed and turned into articles. The thematically re-planned book consists of seven chapters: Qurʾānic Sciences and Tafsīr, Fiqh Thought and Literature, Hanafi Fiqh and Hadith Studies, Kalām, History and Sīra Writing, Language and Literature, Scientific Institutions and Ulama. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak, Rector of Istanbul University, and Prof. Dr. Salih Tuğ, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ISAV, for their support during the organization of the symposium.

    Description: Mısır, Suriye ve Hicaz bölgesine hâkim olan Memlükler (648-923/1250-1517) Suriye topraklarındaki Haçlı tehdidine son vermeleri ve İslâm dünyasının doğusunu tahrip eden Moğolların (İlhanlılar) batıya doğru ilerleyişlerini durdurmaları sebebiyle İslâm tarihindeki en önemli Müslüman-Türk devletlerinden birisi sayılmaktadır. Memlüklerin hâkim oldukları topraklarda güven ve istikrar temin etmeleri, 7./13. asrın başlarında Endülüs ve Anadolu coğrafyası ile merkezî Irak ve İran topraklarında yaşanan siyasi karmaşa ortamından etkilenen ulemanın Mısır-Şam bölgesine yönelmesini sağlamıştır. Memlükler oluşturdukları siyasi istikrarın yanında Kahire, Dımaşk, Halep ve Kudüs gibi şehirlerde inşa ettikleri çok sayıda ilim kurumu ve ulemaya sundukları geniş imkânlarla bu şehirlerin en önemli ilim merkezleri haline gelmesini sağlamışlardır. Bu vesileyle İslâm dünyasının çeşitli bölgelerinden çok sayıda âlimin yöneldiği Mısır ve Şam şehirlerinde oluşan zengin ilmî ortam, İslâmî ilimlerin hemen her sahasında pek çok eserin kaleme alınmasına, aynı zamanda yeni ve hacimli ansiklopedik tarzda telif türlerinin ortaya çıkmasına zemin hazırlamıştır. Böylece fıkıh, hadis, tefsir, kelâm, tasavvuf, felsefe, mantık, kıraat, siyer, tarih ve tabakat ilimlerinde muazzam bir literatür oluşmuştur. İslâm tarihinde eşine az rastlanan bir ilmî mesainin sonucu olarak ortaya konan bu literatürün anlaşılması ve yorumlanması farklı alanlarda pek çok araştırmacının katkısına ihtiyaç duymaktadır. Bu ihtiyacın bir sonucu olarak Memlükler dönemindeki ilmî ve kültürel birikime yönelik ilgi gerek uluslararası akademik çevrelerde gerekse ülkemizde giderek artmaktadır. Memlüklerin siyasi tarihine dair sayısı ve niteliği henüz arzulanan seviyede olmamakla birlikte Türkçe literatürde bazı çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Ancak Memlükler döneminde ulema, ilim kurumları, telif eser türleri ve İslâmî ilimlerin durumu hakkındaki araştırmalar henüz başlangıç düzeyindedir. Bu konudaki eksikliğin bir nebze dahi olsa giderilmesi amacıyla İstanbul Üniversitesi İslâm Tetkikleri Enstitüsü (o zamanki ismiyle İstanbul Üniversitesi İslam Araştırmaları Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi) tarafından 19-20 Eylül 2019 tarihlerinde Memlükler Döneminde İslâmî İlimler adıyla bir çalıştay düzenlenmiştir. Böylece Memlükler dönemiyle ilgili ulema ve İslâmî ilimler hakkındaki çalışmaların durumunun değerlendirilmesi, ihtiyaç duyulan alanlarda yeni araştırma konularının teklif edilmesi, bu sahanın ilgilileri arasında iş birliğinin sağlanması ve yapılacak çalışmalar için bir zemin oluşturulması amaçlanmıştır. Yine bu çalıştayın sonunda Memlükler dönemindeki ilim geleneğine dair geniş katılımlı uluslararası bir toplantının düzenlenmesi ihtiyacı dile getirilmiştir. Bunun için İstanbul Üniversitesi İslâm Tetkikleri Enstitüsü ile İslâmî İlimler Araştırma Vakfı’nın (İSAV) iş birliği ile 28-29 Eylül 2021 tarihlerinde İstanbul Üniversitesinin ev sahipliğinde Memlükler Dönemi İlim Geleneği-I (XIII.-XIV. Yüzyıllar) adıyla uluslararası sempozyum tertip edilmiştir. Sempozyumda tefsir, hadis, fıkıh, tarih yazıcılığı, felsefe, kelâm, tasavvuf, kültür-edebiyat, ulema ve ilim kurumlarına dair birçok araştırmacı tarafından sunumlar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elinizdeki kitap sempozyumda sunulan bazı tebliğlerin yayın aşamasında tekrar gözden geçirilmesiyle teşekkül etmiştir. Tam metin olarak hazırlanan ilgili tebliğler hakemlik sürecine tabi tutularak makale haline getirilmiştir. Tematik olarak yeniden planlanan kitap Kur’ân İlimleri ve Tefsir, Fıkıh Düşüncesi ve Literatürü, Hanefî Fıkhı ve Hadis Çalışmaları, Kelâm, Tarih ve Siyer Yazıcılığı, Dil ve Edebiyat, İlim Kurumları ve Ulema başlıklı yedi bölümden oluşmaktadır.

    Description: Moscow at the turn of history. About the “toponymic upheaval” and not only. The article digs into the urban (and political) geography of Moscow and how this is perceived in Italy in the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union. In particular, the investigation will focus on a number of volumes related to the late Soviet era that were published in Italy between the late 1980s and the mid-1990s. The authors are mainly newspaper and TV correspondents: Vittorio Zucconi (1944-2019, Il Corriere della sera, Si fa presto a dire Russia); Demetrio Volcic (1931-2021, RAI, Mosca. I giorni della fine); Enrico Franceschini (1956, La Repubblica) who is both a journalist (La fine dell'impero. Ultimo viaggio in URSS) and a novelist (La donna della Piazza Rossa). However, the texts index also includes a politician, Giulio Andreotti (L’URSS vista da vicino. Dalla guerra fredda a Gorbaciov), and a comic character, Mickey Mouse, who, in an October 1988 issue number, shows how in the years of perestroika people looked at the nascent (dying) country with both fear and curiosity. All the authors, regardless of their profession and orientation, have the feeling that they are also witnessing history through urban geography; it is no coincidence that all the texts analyzed, to varying extents, “photograph” buildings, streets, monuments... that is to say , “places,” which may be “old,” i.e. inherited from previous travelers or the result of historical, political or literary reminiscences, or “new” places, where a new path of history is being written.

    Description: Su ürünlerinin de içinde bulunduğu gıdalar genel anlamıyla canlıların gereksinim duyduğu enerjiyi sağlayan maddeler olarak bilinse de gıda; gelişmiş ülkelerde “sağlık-diyet”, geri kalmış ülkelerde ise “hayat-ölüm” ilişkisinin göstergesidir. Endüstrileşmiş ülkelerdeki gıda kökenli hastalıkların başlıca nedeni yanlış veya eksik uygulanan işleme teknikleri, nakliye, depolama ve hijyen/sanitasyon problemlerinden kaynaklandığı bilinmektedir. Gıdalarda patojen/saprofit mikroorganizmalar ve kimyasal etkenler kalite kayıplarına ve bozulmalara yol açabileceği gibi sağlık sorunları yaratarak bireyin ve toplumun geleceğini de etkileyebilmektedir. Bu sorunlar özellikle son yıllarda “Gıda Güvenliği” teriminin toplum açısından önem kazanmasına neden olmuştur. Tüm bu bilinçlenme ve hazır tüketime yönelik gelişmelerle birlikte su ürünlerinin gıda güvenliği ve kalite korunumu bakımından hassasiyeti ile çevresel faktörlerden kolay etkilendikleri için üretimden tüketime kadar her aşamada dikkat ve özen gösterilmesi gerektiğini de ortaya koymaktadır. Sağlıklı bir üretimin ilk şartı kaliteli hammaddedir. Güvenli ve kaliteli ürün elde edilebilmesi için de ham (taze üründen) materyalden işlenmiş ürüne kadar, etkili gıda güvenliği ve kalite kontrol uygulamaları zorunluluk arz etmektedir. Kalite ile ilgili olarak belirlenen hedeflere ve standartlara ulaşmak için uygulanan teknikler ve yapılan faaliyetleri içeren kalite kontrol ve işletmelerin devamlılıkları açısından dikkat etmeleri gereken en önemli konulardan birisidir. Kalite tüketici açısından ise, beklentileri karşılama düzeyi, alınan ürünün ilgili standartlara ve yönetmeliklere uygunluğudur. Su ürünlerinde kalite kontrol; tüketici gıda güvenliği ve standartlara uyumluluk yönünden durumunun belirlendiği duyusal, fiziksel, kimyasal ve mikrobiyolojik analizlerin bütünlüğü ile oluşmaktadır.     Description: İstanbul Üniversitesi Yayınları’nın çağrısı üzerine hazırladığımız ve Cumhuriyetin 100.yılına armağan etmek istediğimiz bu küçük çalışmamızı hatırat, anılar ve bu alandaki yazınla ilgilenen meslektaşlarımızın ve meraklı okurların ilgisine sunuyoruz. Toplumsal hafıza ve hafızanın üretimi, siyaseti üzerine düşünürken geç Osmanlı ve Cumhuriyet dönemi anılarını uzun zamandır okuyor ve bu konu üzerinde çalışıyorduk. Bu kapsamda çeşitli alanlara yayılmış anıları inceledik: erkekler ve kadınlar tarafından kaleme alınmış, farklı toplumsal grupların deneyimlerini yansıtan anıların yanı sıra tematik olarak da İstanbul, belirli siyasal olaylar ve meslek gruplarının anılarını eleştirel bir gözle okuduk, tartıştık. Toplumsal hiyerarşinin en üstünde yer alan kişilerin, devlet adamı, asker, diplomat, siyasetçi ve edebiyatçı anılarının yanı sıra farklı toplumsal sınıflara mensup insanların anılarını okurken farklı din, dil ve etnik gruplardan kişilerin kendilerini nasıl ifade ettiğini izlemeye çalıştık. Bu küçük çalışmamızda öncelikle hatırat/anı türünü, yaşam öyküsü anlatılarını tarihsel geçmiş, erken ve modern örnekler, batı ve batı dışı ülkelerdeki ilgili yazın ışığında gözden geçirdik. Cumhuriyet Türkiye’sini, dönemler, gelişmeler ve sorunlarını, öne çıkan temaları, tartışma ve modaları, değişen mekânı geç Osmanlı döneminden başlayarak anılar yardımıyla bir kez daha okuyabileceğimizi hatırlatmak istedik. Geç Osmanlı dönemi derken 1908 ve sonrasını esas almak, Büyük Savaş ve Cumhuriyetin kuruluşunu, İstanbul, İzmir ve Ankara’da yaşayan ve anıları yayınlanmış aydınlar, sanatçı ve siyasetçiler, gazeteciler, anılarını kaleme almış sıradan insanların gözünden izlemek bize önemli ve öğretici geliyor. Bu insanların kişisel ve grupsal anlatıları, aile deneyimleri bize tarihi daha insani, daha içeriden, yaşayanların tecrübesiyle ete kemiğe büründürüyor, daha anlaşılır kılıyor. Bunu en iyi yapabileceğimiz aracın kişilerin yaşam öyküsü anlatıları ve anıları olduğunu düşünüyoruz. Anılarını yazanların aile öykülerinden başlayarak geçmişlerini nasıl ele aldıkları, dönemleri ve deneyimlerini nasıl değerlendirdikleri, yorumladıkları tarih ve siyaset açısından kıymeti çoğu kez bilinmeyen bir önem ve değer taşıyor. Elbette anıları bir tarihsel belge olarak kullanmak, gerçekliğe referans olarak bakmak çeşitli sorunlar taşıyor. Bilimsel tarih çalışmaları ile hafıza, anılar ve anlatılar arasında gidip gelen, edebi türlere yakın duran, bireysel, düşünsel farklılıklar, kırılmalar, tercihler ve yorum farklılıkları içeren bir tür, yaşam öyküsü anlatıları. Çalışmamızın amaçları arasında tarih yazımı ile bu türden kişisel anlatıların, hayat öyküleri ve anıların niteliği üzerine düşünmek ve çalışmak da yer aldı. Bu anlamda yöntem üzerine de düşündük ve bu konuya da çalışmamızda değindik. Tüm eksiklikleri, görüş ve deneyim farklılıkları ve yazılış amaçlarına bağlı olarak kırılmış merceklerden bakış açılarına karşın anıların ülkemizin yakın tarihine, Cumhuriyet tarihine ışık tutacak nitelikte ve canlılıkta olduklarını düşüncesiyle tarihi bir de yaşayanların gözünden, onlar açısından, gerçek insanların deneyimleri ışığında düşünmek ve tartışmakta yarar olduğunu iddia ediyoruz. Çalışmamızın özgün yanlarından en önemlisi bu konuda bir bibliyografya hazırlamış olmamız. Bibliyografya çalışmasının bu alanda araştırma yapan meslektaşlarımıza, öğrencilerimize, anı okurlarına, konuyla ilgili herkese yararlı olmasını umuyoruz.

    Description: Göl, akarsu ve denizler yüzyılları aşan süreden beri çoğunluğu insan kaynaklı olmak üzere çeşitli kirleticilerin baskısı altında bulunmaktadırlar. Özellikle endüstriyel üretimin hız kazandığı 1900’lü yılların ortalarından itibaren bu baskılar daha da artmış birçok su kaynağı kullanılamaz hale gelmiştir. Su kalitesindeki bozulmalar ve iklimsel değişim nedeniyle çok sayıda tür ortadan kalkmış, ya da tükenme noktasına gelmiştir. Ülkemizde de benzer çevresel sorunlar 1950’li yıllardan itibaren görülmeye başlanmıştır. Başta sanayi üretiminin büyük bir kısmının gerçekleştiği Marmara Bölgesindeki deniz ve içsu kaynakları olmak üzere birçok su kaynağı sanayi atıkları, evsel atıklar ve tarımsal kirleticiler ile baş başa bırakılmıştır. Söz konusu kirleticiler nedeniyle en büyük su kalitesi kaybına uğrayan alanların başında ise Marmara Denizi gelmektedir. Marmara Denizi havzası başta ülkemizin en büyük şehri olan İstanbul olmak üzere en büyük şehirlerini barındıran bir iç deniz konumundadır. Göreceli olarak küçük bir alan olmasına rağmen havzada ülke nüfusunun yaklaşık 1/3’ü yaşamaktadır. Havzadaki aşırı nüfus artışı ve kontrolsüz yapılaşma özellikle Marmara Denizi üzerinde büyük bir baskı oluşturmuştur. Uzun yıllar süresince arıtılmadan ya da sadece ön arıtıma tabi tutularak Marmara Denizine verilen atıklar denizin taşıma kapasitesini aşmış, bu nedenle denizde yaşayan birçok canlı türü tamamen ortadan kaybolmuştur. Hatta aşırı kirlenme nedeniyle Marmara Denizi’nin “Doğu Körfez” bölümü uzun yılardan beri balıkçılığa kapatılmıştır. Son zamanlarda Marmara Denizinde ortaya çıkan en önemli ekolojik sorunlardan bir tanesi de yaklaşık 6 ay süren müsilaj artışıdır. Müsilaj Ocak 2021 de başlayıp Haziran 2021’e kadar devam etmiştir. Müsilaj artışının 6 ay gibi uzun bir süre devam etmesi, büyük bir alanda habitat kayıpları yaratması, ekolojik tahribat kadar ekonomik kayıplara neden olması, balıkçılık dahil birçok ekosistem hizmetlerini etkilemesi nedeniyle dünya literatürüne girmiştir. İstanbul Üniversitesi olarak böylesine önemli ekolojik sorunu detaylı bir şekilde araştırmak, sonuçlarını ortaya koymanın gerekliliğine inanarak sadece Marmara Denizi’nde ortaya çıkan müsilaj sorunu ile ilgili çalışmaların yer aldığı 13 bölümden oluşan kitap yayınlamaya karar verdik. Deniz araştırmaları konusunda yaklaşık 80 yıllık deneyime sahip İstanbul Üniversitesinin yayınladığı bu eserin deniz bilimcilere ve karar vericilere başucu kaynağı olmasını diliyoruz.

    Description: During the 1920s and 1930s the wordless novel – stories told in black-and-white wordless woodcuts – was established as a narrative genre. The genre was most popular in Germany, but was as well known in other parts of Europé and in the US. The wordless novel was characterized by the absence of words, the use of woodcut and other relief printing techniques, as well as themes of social critique and serious existential issues. The purpose of the book is to - through the wordless novels of the 1920s and 30s - explain the uniqueness of the wordless narrative and thus the autonomous narrative possibilities of the image. The method of the examination is a close reading of the German artist Otto Nückel's wordless novel Schicksal (Destiny 1926). A comparative material consists of the Czech artist Helena Bochořáková-Dittrichova's wordless novel Z Mého Dětství (From My Childhood, 1929). Wordlessness is studied through the image's characteristics as an intermediary of messages and narratives and through comparisons with other expressions - the silent film, cirkus, expressionist dance and visual art, as well as medieval woodcuts. Narratives – which are usually put together by verbal communication – are in this project a tool for seeing: the image sequences or the image groups that ""replace"" the words - not as a lack or implied meaning of words, but as a personal visual story.

    Description: Among the literature aimed at students of art science and other image-interpreting sciences are a number of texts that deal with theories and theoretical concepts. However, what is largely missing, and which students often call for, are texts in Swedish that show how theories and concepts can be applied in concrete interpretation situations. The series Theoretical applications in art science aims to fill that gap, with the book Materiality being the fourth in the series. The book introduces and activates a concept that in recent decades has come to take an increasingly important place in humanistic research. Art scholars - but also archaeologists, anthropologists, literary scholars, ethnologists and other humanistic researchers - are increasingly interested in the material conditions for, and the manifestations of, people's social and cultural life and exchange. But despite its topicality in today's scientific conversation, the concept of materiality can seem elusive and elusive. It moves all the way from the most tangible analyzes of the material components of a cultural artefact, to the somewhat impenetrable theorizations of objectivity, agents and networks that are usually sorted under the label ""new materialism"". However, the book Materialitet gives concrete examples of how the concept of materiality can open up interpretations of important layers of meaning in works of art and other cultural artifacts. After the initial introduction where different perspectives and conceptualisations of materiality are discussed, six researchers each do their own analysis based on their subject area. The chapters are based on new research and are written specifically for this book. The different chapters together show the multifaceted nature of the concept of materiality, but do not lock it down to a definition, but open the eyes to a number of different interpretive paths.

    Description: Paradoxality as a Specific Feature of Dostoevsky’s Literary Works. Techniques, Stylistics, Mechanisms of Action. All works by Dostoevsky reveal the presence of paradox. These paradoxes act according to mechanisms that depend either on the fictional (polyphonic) or nonfictional (monologic) text “dominant.” Taking as a starting point (a) the arguments of G.S. Morson, according to whom paradoxes “seem to carry the quintessence of ‘Dostoevskyism’, particularly of his brand of humor,” (b) the analysis of Dostoevsky’s paradoxical humor; and (c) the three main categories of paradoxes (“empty or rhetorical”, “negative”, “positive”), we argue that Dostoevsky applies a fourth type of paradox, one that affects neither the premise nor the ending of the paradoxical structure, but their intrinsic logical interconnection. This article analyses a repertoire of paradoxical techniques used by Dostoevsky, focusing on the destabilizing humoristic function they enact.

    Description: Humor and Irony as a Means of Combating Atheism in the Discourse of F.M. Dostoevsky . The question of the God’s existence troubled Dostoevsky throughout his life. He created a very convincing portrait of the atheist of his time. He did not consider unbelievers immoral, but only “infected with recklessness”, and when speaking of his atheist acquaintances, often admitted that they were good people. Dostoevsky created the image of an atheist as an intelligent person, who is guided not by the heart, but by the mind and who often evokes sympathy for his questing, his thinking, and his suffering (like Versilov or Ivan Karamazov). If we carefully consider the “atheistic” characters of Dostoevsky, however, we will see that atheism is a phenomenon associated with something both bad and funny. Through humorous details, Dostoevsky imperceptibly creates an image of the “atheist” as a comical and frivolous person.

    Description: “We laughed like from a tickle on the heart.” Dostoevsky’s Muddy Confession. When considering laughter in Dostoevsky, one immediately thinks of the long “tirade” in The Adolescent, which proposes a kind of physiology of laughter, and its unpredictable effects on the perception of those who witness it. Laughter and caustic humor color even the most intimate confessions and can serve to partially mask the difficult action of revealing oneself before others. Modernity itself is the era of self-exhibition, of a sort of widespread confession. And yet, the laughter of modernity has lost the essence of joy. Joy is a function of that almost impossible sincerity that unveils the essence of man. The grimace of the fool, who shamelessly denudes himself before others in confession, becomes a sign of the isolation of the modern self and the end of the utopia of sincerity pursued by Rousseau.

    Description: On Features of Word Usage in Dostoevsky’s Poetic Dictionary in Connection with M.L. Uralskij and G. Mondry’s Dostoevsky and the Jews (St. Petersburg: Aletheia, 2021) . This article addresses the question of Dostoevsky’s alleged anti-Semitism with particular attention to Uralskij and Mondry’s book devoted to this topic, in which conclusions about the author’s chauvinism and xenophobia are based on his use of the word ‘Jew’ (zhid). For almost the entirety of the 19th century, however, such word usage was not a marker of anti-Semitism. Throughout his life, Dostoevsky communicated with many representatives of the Jewish people without differentitating them in any particular way from representatives of other nationalities. In the writer’s poetic dictionary, the word ‘Jew’ sometimes denotes a person who acquires unscrupulously, examples of which Dostoevsky found in all nationalities of the world, including the Russian.

    Description: Turkic World studies seem to be a topic that attracts scientific attention day by day. The continuous increase in cooperation, rapprochement, and mobility between Turkish-speaking countries and communities since 1991 might be shown as the main dynamic behind this interest. The richness of the Turkic Republics in terms of natural resources, their location on the energy and transportation corridors, the change of the balances in the Caucasus with the Second Karabakh War in 2020, and the transition of the Turkic Council from a cooperation organization to an interstate organization in 2021 under the name of the "Organization of Turkic States" also accelerate the work of the Turkic World. In the meantime, the popularization of some geopolitical determinations and predictions in the context of scientific interest in the region can be shown as an important factor. Similar to the rise of Europe in the industrial age, we can talk about the rise of Asia in the information age. The sources of political and economic power are shifting to Asian geopolitics and this process continues to strengthen. Such analyses and predictions, which bring to the agenda that in the 2050s, Asia will regain its former central position also encourage academic interest in Central Asia. This book is the product of the goal of creating an original work for the Turkish World with gap-filling parameters and process analyses determined by a meticulous preliminary study in the light of the mentioned background. In this direction, three basic perspectives such as the effort to determine the capacities of the countries with comparative analyses, to look at the Turkish World from the perspective of problems, and to embody the Turkish World based on the community, autonomous region, and country sections dominate the work. With comparative analyses, it has been tried to embody the capacities of the countries within the parameters such as sustainable development potential, transportation systems, scientific performance, evolution in the political system, education system, and values of education. On the other hand, the crises affecting the Turkic World were discussed with the analysis of Karabakh, which is the main crisis, and the Russia-Ukraine War, which is the current crisis. On the other hand, the analysis of the thirty-year process in the Turkish World, starting from the scales of the community, autonomous region, and country, was carried out through the examples of Georgia, Tatarstan, and Uzbekistan.

    Description: Cultural heritage is not just something from the past, but always also reflects contemporary needs and desires. In the Traces of the Cold War describes the making of a diverse and innovative Swedish military heritage. The book shows how memories and material remains from a period characterized by fear and geopolitical tensions are infused with new meanings when bunkers, decommissioned military facilities and technology are transformed into luxury housing, attractive tourist destinations and museum exhibitions. Through field-visits to military heritage sites across Sweden, the authors examine what material objects, narratives and emotions that today represent the Cold War. These examinations show how military structures and equipment from a time associated with threat and danger become captivating elements of the cultural heritage, while also communicating specific ideas regarding security and protection. In the Traces of the Cold War takes a novel approach to cultural heritage by relating collective memory-making to security policy. Based on theoretical perspectives from critical heritage studies (CHS) and feminist international relations (IR), the analysis focuses on constructions of national belonging and underlines the role of gender and sexuality in narrations of security and protection. In a democracy, the subject of military violence must always be a matter of ethical and political conversations. Setting out from this assumption, the authors critically discuss how Cold War heritagisation produces militarization as “natural” and necessary. The book invites reflection on how history is written as well as on what the requirements are for a safe and secure society. In the Traces of the Cold War presents the results from an interdisciplinary research project. The authors are all researchers at Stockholm University and have written the book together.

    Description: This book examines different contexts relevant to Pushkin in 1825 when the poem “Count Nulin” was written. Its bulk consists of studies devoted to (1) various manuscripts of the text, (2) the issue of censorship and the publication of “Count Nulin” during Pushkin’s life, (3) the biographical context for the poem’s creation, (4) the role of the text in literary polemics and (5) reactions of critics (as well as readers) during Pushkin’s lifetime. Developing the idea of Boris Eikhenbaum, R. Leibov proposes that the text was addressed primarily to members of the Petersburg literati who made up the “Poliarnaia zvezda” (Polar Star) circle. Moreover, Leibov suggests that, in “Count Nulin”, Pushkin purposefully exaggerated those literary techniques that attracted criticism in “Eugene Onegin”, making “Count Nulin” function as a self-parody. The final section of the book is composed of commentary on the poem, combining a traditional focus on the interpretation of fragments of the text with an emphasis on its overall composition, as well as description of the changing rhetorical and narrative strategies of its author.

    Description: Göl, akarsu ve denizler yüzyılları aşan süreden beri çoğunluğu insan kaynaklı olmak üzere çeşitli kirleticilerin baskısı altında bulunmaktadırlar. Özellikle endüstriyel üretimin hız kazandığı 1900’lü yılların ortalarından itibaren bu baskılar daha da artmış birçok su kaynağı kullanılamaz hale gelmiştir. Su kalitesindeki bozulmalar ve iklimsel değişim nedeniyle çok sayıda tür ortadan kalkmış, ya da tükenme noktasına gelmiştir. Ülkemizde de benzer çevresel sorunlar 1950’li yıllardan itibaren görülmeye başlanmıştır. Başta sanayi üretiminin büyük bir kısmının gerçekleştiği Marmara Bölgesindeki deniz ve içsu kaynakları olmak üzere birçok su kaynağı sanayi atıkları, evsel atıklar ve tarımsal kirleticiler ile baş başa bırakılmıştır. Söz konusu kirleticiler nedeniyle en büyük su kalitesi kaybına uğrayan alanların başında ise Marmara Denizi gelmektedir. Marmara Denizi havzası başta ülkemizin en büyük şehri olan İstanbul olmak üzere en büyük şehirlerini barındıran bir iç deniz konumundadır. Göreceli olarak küçük bir alan olmasına rağmen havzada ülke nüfusunun yaklaşık 1/3’ü yaşamaktadır. Havzadaki aşırı nüfus artışı ve kontrolsüz yapılaşma özellikle Marmara Denizi üzerinde büyük bir baskı oluşturmuştur. Uzun yıllar süresince arıtılmadan ya da sadece ön arıtıma tabi tutularak Marmara Denizine verilen atıklar denizin taşıma kapasitesini aşmış, bu nedenle denizde yaşayan birçok canlı türü tamamen ortadan kaybolmuştur. Hatta aşırı kirlenme nedeniyle Marmara Denizi’nin “Doğu Körfez” bölümü uzun yılardan beri balıkçılığa kapatılmıştır. Son zamanlarda Marmara Denizinde ortaya çıkan en önemli ekolojik sorunlardan bir tanesi de yaklaşık 6 ay süren müsilaj artışıdır. Müsilaj Ocak 2021 de başlayıp Haziran 2021’e kadar devam etmiştir. Müsilaj artışının 6 ay gibi uzun bir süre devam etmesi, büyük bir alanda habitat kayıpları yaratması, ekolojik tahribat kadar ekonomik kayıplara neden olması, balıkçılık dahil birçok ekosistem hizmetlerini etkilemesi nedeniyle dünya literatürüne girmiştir. İstanbul Üniversitesi olarak böylesine önemli ekolojik sorunu detaylı bir şekilde araştırmak, sonuçlarını ortaya koymanın gerekliliğine inanarak sadece Marmara Denizi’nde ortaya çıkan müsilaj sorunu ile ilgili çalışmaların yer aldığı 13 bölümden oluşan kitap yayınlamaya karar verdik. Deniz araştırmaları konusunda yaklaşık 80 yıllık deneyime sahip İstanbul Üniversitesinin yayınladığı bu eserin deniz bilimcilere ve karar vericilere başucu kaynağı olmasını diliyoruz.

We had so many unknowns at the beginning of the epidemic. We did not yet clearly know how we approached patients, how to treat them, and what drugs should be given. Over the past two years, much research and many experiences have taught us how to behave against the disease. During the pandemic, we learned by experience how damaging information pollution can be. The epidemic also showed us the vaccine wars. We have seen how valuable the vaccines we use to get rid of the epidemic are, how developed countries have entered vaccine wars, and the change in the dynamics of the epidemic with vaccination. The years 2020-2022 will be defined as the epidemic years. During this epidemic, we saw that it was precious for physicians to get the correct information. This source has been tried to be created thanks to the fact that it has written down the experiences gained by experiencing this epidemic in person. Üstelik bu öyle bir salgın ki sadece bir ülkede değil, bütün dünya ülkelerinde aynı zamanda ve benzer yoğunlukta etkilendi. Adeta ülkelerin sağlık sistemleri aynı sorulardan oluşan bir sınavla sınandı. Salgın sırasında birçok bilinmeyen denklem iç içe idi. Salgın başında o kadar çok bilinmeyenimiz vardı ki. Hastalara nasıl yaklaştığımızı, nasıl tedavi vereceğimizi ve hangi ilaçların verilmesi gerektiğini henüz net bir şekilde bilmiyorduk. Geçen iki yıl zarfında birçok araştırma ve birçok deneyim bizim hastalığa karşı nasıl davranmamız gerektiğini öğretti. Salgın sırasında bilgi kirliliğinin ne kadar zarar verebilir olduğunu yaşayarak öğrendik. Salgın bize birde aşı savaşlarını gösterdi. Salgından kurtulmak için kullandığımız aşıların ne kadar değerli olduğunu, gelişmiş ülkelerin nasıl aşı savaşlarına girdiğini aşılama ile beraber salgın dinamiklerindeki değişimi gördük. 2020-2022 yılları salgın yılları olarak tanımlanacaktır. Bu salgın sırasında hekimlerin doğru bilgilerin ulaşmasının çok değerli olduğunu gördük. Elinizdeki bu kaynak salgını bizzat yaşayarak elde edilen tecrübelerini yazıya dökmesi sayesinde oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Kitabın oluşturulmasındaki emeği olan tüm arkadaşlarımıza içten teşekkürlerimizi arz ediyoruz. Bu kitabın okuyuculara fayda getirmesini diliyoruz. The present book aims to fill the existing gap by focusing on the nature of ambivalent humor, paradoxicality, and methods of “de-automatizing” consciousness through deconstruction. It is precisely the dialogical and paradoxical nature of Dostoevsky’s artistic method that enables such different and sometimes contradictory readings.

In her travel diary, she writes how the shopkeepers displayed goods in myriad of ways that fooled people into shopping. How did shops look like in Anna Johanna Grill’s hometown Stockholm in the eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century? Were there distinctive shopping streets? Who sold goods, who shopped them and what goods were available? How were goods displayed in shops and marketed? How households act in organising their purchases and consumption? From a microhistorical case studies, this richly illustrated anthology widens the perspective to social, economic and cultural practices in everyday urban life. The chapters demonstrate how shopping streets and shops with their range of silk fabrics, accessories, fashion plates, blacksmithing, wigs and hair pomades not only met the desires of consumers, but also enabled dreams of novel identities and social accession for themselves and their families.

In the Traces of the Cold War describes the making of a diverse and innovative Swedish military heritage. The book shows how memories and material remains from a period characterized by fear and geopolitical tensions are infused with new meanings when bunkers, decommissioned military facilities and technology are transformed into luxury housing, attractive tourist destinations and museum exhibitions.Through field-visits to military heritage sites across Sweden, the authors examine what material objects, narratives and emotions that today represent the Cold War. These examinations show how military structures and equipment from a time associated with threat and danger become captivating elements of the cultural heritage, while also communicating specific ideas regarding security and protection.In the Traces of the Cold War takes a novel approach to cultural heritage by relating collective memory-making to security policy. Based on theoretical perspectives from critical heritage studies (CHS) and feminist international relations (IR), the analysis focuses on constructions of national belonging and underlines the role of gender and sexuality in narrations of security and protection.In a democracy, the subject of military violence must always be a matter of ethical and political conversations. Setting out from this assumption, the authors critically discuss how Cold War heritagisation produces militarization as “natural" and necessary.     Description: In Dostoevsky’s binary poetics, an opposition can be drawn between two fundamental stances – asceticism and incontinence. Ascetics adhere to an ethos of self-restraint in response to the desires of the flesh. Incontinents act spontaneously to gratify their desires. The current study draws an analogy between the behavior pattern of Dostoevsky’s self-denying intellectual heroes and that of exiled castrate (skoptsy) communities. Dostoevsky’s ascetics represent a cerebral mindset attracted to visions of social utopia; their intellectualizing detaches them from the life of the body and thus weirdly parallels the strictures of the skoptsy. An encounter between an ascetic and a prostitute serves as a central plot moment in works such as Crime and Punishment and Notes from Underground.

Üniversite reformu olarak da bilinen bu dönüşüm, literatürde çağdaş yüksek öğretimin başlangıcı olarak kabul edilmektedir. İstanbul Üniversitesi’nde sunulan eğitimin her unsurunun arkasında asırlık bilgi ve birikim bulunmaktadır. İstanbul Üniversitesi Türkiye’nin yükseköğretim geleneğini kuran, başlatan, kurallarını koyan, nitelikli hale gelmesi için, geliştirilmesi için özgür fikirler üreten bir üniversitedir. İstanbul Üniversitesi bünyesinde bulunan çok sayıda yapı da yine yüzyıllara uzanan tarihinden izler taşımaktadır.     Description: It is well known that Sweden once had a state institute for racial biology, as well as that extensive racial research was conducted in Sweden during the first decades of the 20th century. But what actually happened to Swedish race research after the 1930s - did it just disappear? In The science that disappeared? historian Martin Ericsson conducts the first systematic survey of Swedish race research from the mid-1930s to the early 1970s. It is a story of a racial science that survived the horrors of World War II and endured longer than we might like to believe as criticism grew in the post-war period. And about the Norwegian Institute for Racial Biology, which was never shut down, but lived on in a different form and under a different name. Ericsson shows that there was not a single Swedish racial research tradition, but two. One was based on the first director of the Institute of Racial Biology, Herman Lundborg, and had clear connections to Nazism and other extreme right-wing movements. The second can be said to be based on Lundborg's successor Gunnar Dahlberg and was instead anti-Nazi and in some cases even anti-racist. But both traditions agreed that there were different human races and that it made sense to try to measure differences between them.     Description: Narratives about northern Sweden are often narratives about nature. This has been true throughout history and is still true today. Different ways of understanding nature have become intertwined with the place and the people who live there. The nature in northern Sweden can be magnificent and impressive, but it can also be desolate, threatening and dangerous. A dominant image of nature in northern Sweden - then as now - is the image of resources, assets. The overall aim of the study is to shed light on the role of nature in linguistic place-making in northern Sweden with a particular focus on the settler colonization during the 18th and 19th centuries. Through a selection of text sources, nature’s central place in the story of the colonization, of the place, its history, change and future is highlighted. The texts that are analyzed are the two journals in which Petrus Læstadius described his work as a missionary in Lapland, as well as Olov Petter Pettersson's detailed description of the settler colonization in the work Gamla byar i Vilhelmina. The settler colonization took place in areas with Sami presence and history and this study connects to the research field of Settler Colonial Studies in a critical discussion of the linguistic place-making in the texts. One of the aims of the study is to also shed light on the connections that exist between the settler colonization depicted in the texts, and the linguistic place-making with nature at the center that is ongoing in northern Sweden today.

Завершают том публикации лагерных писем известного фольклориста и музыковеда Моисея Береговского и транскрипт интервью Бориса Каменко, чудом пережившего Холокост на Ставрополье.     Description: The book is an extended commentary on Pushkin’s poem “The Robber Brothers”. The author redefines the poem’s place in Pushkin’s creative biography and provides a detailed line-by-line commentary. This poem by Alexander Pushkin has been considered peripheral among his “Southern Poems”, and therefore researchers have paid little attention to it. The main cause of such lack of consideration was the specific history of the creation of “The Robber Brothers.” Pushkin experimented with constructing a new poem at the intersection of different vectors of genre and style topical for both the poet and literature as a whole. Due to this dynamic tension, the concept of the poem became ambiguous – the choice of the plot composition and narrative methods were not determined. After making several attempts and sketches, Pushkin shortened his initial concept and created an author legend on the genesis of the poem, which was introduced to the first audience of readers as a disconnected fragment of a scattered whole, whereas the plot of the poem was depicted as based on a real event. Within Pushkin’s corpus, “The Robber Brothers” remained primarily a literary monument of the author’s rapid evolution during his “Southern” period. It proved to be an extremely concentrated experiment, ultimately without success.

In healthcare, traditional complex health service systems are increasingly replaced by smart systems that can be monitored and controlled in real time. Intelligent systems equipped with digital technology opportunities have started the “Health 4.0” era in health care fields. The definitions of “Health 4.0” and “Smart Health” are used in parallel with the “Industry 4.0” period, in order to emphasize the cyber-physical determinants of health, symbolizing real-time information provision and access to holistic health care. One of the most important reasons why the concept of smart health has become popular is the concept of big data produced in medicine as well as in all areas of life. The enormous size and variety of data, whether real-time or timestamped, structured or unstructured, continues to grow in healthcare. Clinical artificial intelligence applications, which include more efficient and faster technological solutions in the production of health services, and which aim to increase the health level of individuals and improve their quality of life, are becoming widespread with approaches to improve health services by analyzing health data. In addition to the use of artificial intelligence in the administration of health services, performance and capacity increase, original models are also created in the management of health services. The use of informatics approaches in diagnosis, treatment and care processes, the developments in digital imaging technologies, the use of robotic systems in surgery, the widespread use of modeling and simulation technologies in medical education make a difference in the functioning of health institutions. Despite the disadvantage of high initial investment costs, artificial intelligence technologies in the field of health contribute greatly to measurement, diagnosis, treatment management and follow-up activities with their facilitating and adaptive effects. Although conceptual and technical studies on the future of artificial intelligence applications continue, it is not possible for artificial intelligence systems to display the ability for emotional intelligence, which requires design, adaptation and intuition, and to perform multitasking similar to the human brain. As in the field of informatics, there are still concerns about ethical reasoning responsibility and ethical decision making in artificial intelligence applications in medicine. In the third book of the series published by Istanbul University Press in medical informatics, the applications of medical informatics and artificial intelligence in medicine are discussed with a multidisciplinary approach and broad perspective. In particular, telemedicine and out-of-hospital patient management issues, which allow health service delivery to be provided without time and space limits, are handled with public regulations specific to the coronavirus pandemic period.

    Description: Esse-perfect in Macedonian: lexical distribution and contextual restrictions - The present article deals with the esse-perfect in Macedonian, also found in Aromanian and some Albanian dialects, which is formed with verbs of both aspects by means of the auxiliary sum ‘to be’ plus the (formally) passive participle. In contrast to previous work on this topic, our research sets out to determine the domains of usage for this construction in Macedonian, both in the standard language and its dialects, especially those on the western periphery and in linguistic enclaves surrounded by Albanian-speaking communities. In addition to personal fieldwork, three main corpora serve as a material basis for this task; see the list of sources at the end of the article. The formation of the esse-perfect is rather limited when compared with the other two perfects of Macedonian. In particular, its distribution clearly depends on lexical verb classes, with language contact accounting for less rigid restrictions and a wider usage of this construction.

    Description: Göl, akarsu ve denizler yüzyılları aşan süreden beri çoğunluğu insan kaynaklı olmak üzere çeşitli kirleticilerin baskısı altında bulunmaktadırlar. Özellikle endüstriyel üretimin hız kazandığı 1900’lü yılların ortalarından itibaren bu baskılar daha da artmış birçok su kaynağı kullanılamaz hale gelmiştir. Su kalitesindeki bozulmalar ve iklimsel değişim nedeniyle çok sayıda tür ortadan kalkmış, ya da tükenme noktasına gelmiştir. Ülkemizde de benzer çevresel sorunlar 1950’li yıllardan itibaren görülmeye başlanmıştır. Başta sanayi üretiminin büyük bir kısmının gerçekleştiği Marmara Bölgesindeki deniz ve içsu kaynakları olmak üzere birçok su kaynağı sanayi atıkları, evsel atıklar ve tarımsal kirleticiler ile baş başa bırakılmıştır. Söz konusu kirleticiler nedeniyle en büyük su kalitesi kaybına uğrayan alanların başında ise Marmara Denizi gelmektedir. Marmara Denizi havzası başta ülkemizin en büyük şehri olan İstanbul olmak üzere en büyük şehirlerini barındıran bir iç deniz konumundadır. Göreceli olarak küçük bir alan olmasına rağmen havzada ülke nüfusunun yaklaşık 1/3’ü yaşamaktadır. Havzadaki aşırı nüfus artışı ve kontrolsüz yapılaşma özellikle Marmara Denizi üzerinde büyük bir baskı oluşturmuştur. Uzun yıllar süresince arıtılmadan ya da sadece ön arıtıma tabi tutularak Marmara Denizine verilen atıklar denizin taşıma kapasitesini aşmış, bu nedenle denizde yaşayan birçok canlı türü tamamen ortadan kaybolmuştur. Hatta aşırı kirlenme nedeniyle Marmara Denizi’nin “Doğu Körfez” bölümü uzun yılardan beri balıkçılığa kapatılmıştır. Son zamanlarda Marmara Denizinde ortaya çıkan en önemli ekolojik sorunlardan bir tanesi de yaklaşık 6 ay süren müsilaj artışıdır. Müsilaj Ocak 2021 de başlayıp Haziran 2021’e kadar devam etmiştir. Müsilaj artışının 6 ay gibi uzun bir süre devam etmesi, büyük bir alanda habitat kayıpları yaratması, ekolojik tahribat kadar ekonomik kayıplara neden olması, balıkçılık dahil birçok ekosistem hizmetlerini etkilemesi nedeniyle dünya literatürüne girmiştir. İstanbul Üniversitesi olarak böylesine önemli ekolojik sorunu detaylı bir şekilde araştırmak, sonuçlarını ortaya koymanın gerekliliğine inanarak sadece Marmara Denizi’nde ortaya çıkan müsilaj sorunu ile ilgili çalışmaların yer aldığı 13 bölümden oluşan kitap yayınlamaya karar verdik. Deniz araştırmaları konusunda yaklaşık 80 yıllık deneyime sahip İstanbul Üniversitesinin yayınladığı bu eserin deniz bilimcilere ve karar vericilere başucu kaynağı olmasını diliyoruz.

Some of the studies are devoted to an overview of the literary process and the activities of its participants, others—to individual genres and movements. As a result, a complex and multifaceted picture emerges of a not quite fully defined, but very lively and dynamic community that develops in the most difficult conditions. The contributors trace the paths of Russian-Israeli prose, poetry and drama, various waves of avant-garde, fantasy, and critical thought. Today, in Russian-Israeli literature, the voices of writers of various generations and waves of repatriation are intertwined: from the "seventies" to the "war aliyah" of the recent times. Both the Russian-Israeli authors and their critics often hold different opinions of their respective roles in Israel’s historical and literary storms. While disagreeing on the definition of their place on the map of modern culture, Russian-Israeli writers are united by a shared bond with the fate of the Jewish state.

    Description: Onomastics and Paradox: Dostoevsky and the Collapse of the Ontological Integrity of Character. Onomastics plays a key role in Dostoevsky’s poetics: the names of most of his characters are essential to their portraits, even though these names rarely signify unambiguously. Moreover, a number of his characters are nameless and a semantic tension arises from this absence: the impossibility of “branding” the hero with a name prevents us from identifying his or her features through verbal onomastic symbolism. The portrait of such characters necessarily remains somewhat murky. It is no coincidence that the “nameless heroes” are the most paradoxical and enigmatic characters of Dostoevsky’s creative world. By denying them names, Dostoevsky seeks to destroy the inner integrity of these heroes, their identity, in order that a living, independent, and contradictory personality emerges in them.

    Description: Funny Fathers. Types of the ridiculous old man in Dostoevsky’s novels. The first chapters from Dostoevsky’s novel Netochka Nezvanova deal with the fate and the peculiar story of life of the heroine’s stepfather. He is called Efimov and, being an alcoholic and overconfident, he plunges his family into misery. Therefore, he can be considered a prototype of ridiculous father figures occurring in the great novels (Marmeladov from Crime and Punishment, General Ivolgin from The Idiot and Stepan Trofimovič from The Demons). The article focuses on the determining character traits of these figures who embody the dramatic failure of the father generation. While characterising those laughable vecchi, special attention is given to the seemingly paradox criterium of the tragicomic, which finally results in questioning the tension between freedom and a predetermined fate.

This article examines references to the female breast found in Dostoevsky’s novel Crime and Punishment to reveal the contradictory role of female sexuality in his literary world. Despite feminist inclinations and a personal familiarity with “emancipated love,” he had particular difficulty with issues of women’s sexual desire and female corporeality, associating them with danger.     Description: A Gentle Creature’s Paradox. The aim of this article is to analyze a smile as a mimetic, nonverbal facial expression. Although a smile most often displays joy and pleasure, it sometimes expresses emotions such as sadness, cruelty, anger, etc. This analysis aims to focus on the paradoxical “mistrustful, silent, and evil smile” of A Gentle Creature. Her smile marks the beginning of her life with the Pawnbroker and it is her companion until the end of her life. The paradox of smile illuminates other paradoxes such as that of communication (verbal/nonverbal, communication/its negation), of death (suicide and the icon, destruction/resurrection, silence/birth of words), of the Pawnbroker’s story (author-narrator, narrative/story, fantastic/realistic, contradictions in the story), and of the event (real event/event in the narrator’s mind).

    Description: Accessibility to art and cultural activities is a topic with increasing attention. Most municipalities in the Scandinavian countries have kulturskoler (extra curricular schools of music and performing arts) that offer training and experiences in – and through – art and culture subjects for children and young people. But the users of these institutions are not representative for the society around them. The majority of the children and young people who actually use the kulturskole come from middle-class homes and have well-educated parents. There is therefore an increasing and absolutely necessary attention in the municipalities on how kulturskoler can reach new target groups, ensure more fair representation and develop as institutions being inclusive forces in the local community. The development project ""Kulturskolen as an inclusive force in the local community (KIL)"" had this focus. In this anthology, there are nine independent peer-reviewed research articles with topics that are relevant for those municipalities wanting to develop their potential as inclusive forces further. The book is suitable for both researchers, students or teachers associated with the didactic field of art, but also kulturskole leaders, elementary school teachers and others who are interested in how the kulturskole can function as an inclusive force in the local community

De fleste kommuner i de skandinaviske landene har musikk- og kulturskoler som tilbyr opplæring og opplevelser i og gjennom kunst- og kulturfag for barn og unge. Men kulturskoleelevene avspeiler ikke samfunnet rundt, for størstedelen av de barn og unge som faktisk bruker kulturskolene kommer fra middelklassehjem og har godt utdannede foreldre. Det er derfor et økende og helt nødvendig søkelys på hvordan kulturskolene kan nå nye målgrupper og sikre en bedre representasjon. Utviklingsprosjektet Kulturskolen som inkluderende kraft i lokalsamfunnet (KIL) hadde dette søkelyset. I denne antologien finnes ni selvstendige fagfellevurderte forskningsartikler med tematikk som er relevant for å kunne utvikle dette potensialet videre. Boken passer for både forskere, studenter eller lærere tilknyttet det kunstfagdidaktiske utdanningsfeltet, men også kulturskoleledere, lærere og andre som interesserer seg for hvordan kulturskolen kan bli en inkluderende kraft.

    Description: About Slavonicisms in The Brothers Karamazov. This work draws attention to the function of Slavonicisms in The Brothers Karamazov. In the last dialogue between Kolja Krasotkin and Alesha Karamazov, Kolja’s lines about postmortality or immortality are stylistically limited to the framework of the middle-lower register of Russian and thus exclude any metaphysical component. Alesha’s response, in contrast, is constructed in a Slavonic idiolect that belongs simultaneously to the conventional and to the mythopoetic. Another case of this appeal to the Slavonic register may be found in the dispute between Ivan and the devil regarding the recognition or denial of the incarnation of evil in the world. Claiming incarnation, Satan tries to demonstrate the equivalence of demonic and human nature. The primary instrument deployed in this argument is a Slavonicism, claimed by Satan, but which does not belong to him.

    Description: Verbal aspect in the Macedonian dialect of Boboshtica-Drenova and Albanian-Slavic language contact - Long-term subdominant bilingualism with Albanian has had a significant impact on verbal aspect marking in the Macedonian dialect of Boboshtica-Drenova (South-East Albania). The Slavic formal opposition of perfective and imperfective aspect marked through a variety of derivational methods has been preserved. However, under Albanian influence two continuous aspect con­structions have been grammaticalised in the dialect, one of them based on the locative ǵe, and the other on the adversative conjunction toko. The paths of grammaticalization of these markers are investigated, which include structural transfer (ǵe 〈 locative and temporal tek, toko 〈 adversative and continuous po), which is partially supported by the phonetic similarity between the respective Albanian and Macedonian dialectal markers (toko || duke, tek).

Learning Through Food and Meals in Primary School takes a look at school meal programs in Denmark, Sweden and Norway with the objective of providing educators and teacher-education students an understanding of school meals from public health and nutritional perspectives, as well as a sense of the potential for teaching through school meals. The book is written in Danish, Swedish and Norwegian, and is structured in three parts, presenting new research from each of the three countries. Thematically, the chapters range from studies of different school meal initiatives to analyses of the social, democratic, and pedagogical significance of school meals. Bidragen behandlar inte bara Norden utan även hur könskonstruktioner påverkades och förändrades genom inflytande från samtida kulturella, juridiska och ideologiska strömningar i Europa. *** In discussions relating to their role during the Middle Ages, women are typically assumed to only have been “pawns in a political game dominated by men", or to have primarily acted as intermediaries of power. In this book, however, the varying expressions of power are studied by changing the focus from a political and economic exercise of power controlled by men, to an approach based on interaction and communication between the sexes. In this volume, gender is instead interpreted as a total social phenomenon comprising all spheres of medieval society. This approach provides new opportunities to investigate how power operated on different levels within a societal structure. Thus, power is neither seen as emanating from a centre nor as dominated by only one sex. Instead, it is regarded as an all-embracing societal web, woven through threads of mutual dependence between men and women. In this book, scholars belonging to various disciplines, such as history, history of arts and literary history, discuss how cooperation between the sexes found expression in culture, judicial spheres and social organisation. The contributions do not only consider the Nordic countries, but also how gender constructions were affected by, and transformed through, the influence of contemporary cultural, juridical and ideological currents in Europe.

    Description: Today's mathematics education has an impact even outside the confines of the classroom, not least through the relevance of mathematics in culture, economics, politics and in relation to power. Sociopolitical perspectives in mathematics didactic research provide insights into how education in mathematics is social and political. Research based on these perspectives suggests both critical questioning and not-yet-imagined possibilities for content, teaching, policy and further research. This book introduces, for a larger Swedish audience, the research orientations and strategies that sociopolitical perspectives have to offer. In the book, this is illustrated in several ways. The chapters describe current research on the socio-political challenges of mathematics education in several different contexts, e.g. classrooms, after-school programs, curricula, mathematics teacher education and even mathematics education research. In this way, perspectives are broadened to groups of people, institutions and forces, which constitute a network of mathematics education practice. The chapters present different philosophical and empirical studies, based on theoretical tools from philosophy, social science and cultural studies, critical studies of education and socio-cultural-political studies of mathematics education. Methodological and analytical strategies such as text and discourse analysis and case studies of practice are used. In this way, opportunities to research mathematics education based on socio-political perspectives are illustrated. The chapters use various writing styles which invite the reader into the world of research. Thus, the reader will encounter different ways of thinking about the role of mathematics education in the creation of modern Swedish society.

    Description: Post-Soviet Power tells the story of the Russian electricity system and examines the politics of its transformation from a ministry to a market. Susanne A. Wengle shifts our focus away from what has been at the center of post-Soviet political economy - corruption and the lack of structural reforms - to draw attention to political struggles to establish a state with the ability to govern the economy. She highlights the importance of hands-on economic planning by authorities - post-Soviet developmentalism - and details the market mechanisms that have been created. This book argues that these observations urge us to think of economies and political authority as mutually constitutive, in Russia and beyond. Whereas political science often thinks of market arrangements resulting from political institutions, Russia's marketization demonstrates that political status is also produced by the market arrangements that actors create. Taking this reflexivity seriously suggests a view of economies and markets as constructed and contingent entities.
