    Description: The monograph is a translated and complemented edition of the book Airborne laser scanning raster data visualization: A Guide to Good Practice. It provides an insight into a range of visualization techniques for high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs). It is provided in the context of investigation and interpretation of various types of historical and modern, cultural and natural small-scale relief features and landscape structures. It also provides concise guidance for selecting the best techniques when looking at a specific type of landscape and/or looking for particular kinds of forms.The three main sections – descriptions of visualization techniques, guidance for selection of the techniques, and visualization tools – accompany examples of visualizations, exemplar archaeological and geomorphological case studies, a glossary of terms, and a list of references and recommendations for further reading. The structure facilitates people of different academic background and level of expertise to understand different visualizations, how to read them, how to manipulate the settings in a calculation, and choose the best suited for the purpose of the intended investigation.
    Description: Monografija nudi vpogled v nabor tehnik prikaza visokoločljivih modelov višin. Napisana je v kontekstu preučevanja in interpretacije različnih tipov zgodovinskih in modernih, kulturnih in naravnih majhnih reliefnih oblik. Daje jedrnate napotke za izbiro najboljših tehnik prikaza določenih tipov pokrajine in izrazitih oblik.Tri glavna poglavja – opis tehnik prikazovanja digitalnih modelov višin, napotki za njihovo izbiro in orodja za izračun prikazov –, spremljajo izbrani primeri tipičnih arheoloških in geomorfoloških študij, slovarček pojmov ter seznam literature in priporočenega branja. Posameznikom z različnih znanstvenih področij in z različnim predznanjem o tematiki je struktura v pomoč pri razumevanju različnih tehnik prikazov, kako jih brati, kako izbrati prave nastavitve pri njihovem izračunu in kako prepoznati najbolj primerne za namen zasnovane raziskave.

    Description: The book sheds new light on a much debated issue in the field of ancient history: the spread of Christianity in the Roman Empire and its relationship with Judaism in the 2nd century. The contributions collected in this volume illustrate from a multidisciplinary perspective (including archaeology, cultural, religious, and political history) how Christianity found a peculiar way of integrating into the transforming empire under Emperor Hadrian. In this way, Christianity gained an increasing place within Roman society, which ultimately opened the door to its affirmation in subsequent centuries.

Il volume comprende un’edizione critica e commentata sia dei frammenti del Libro del disegno, trattato autografo e idiografo del Bandinelli, sia del Memoriale, apocrifo secentesco messo a punto sotto la supervisione del nipote dell’artista, l’erudito Baccio Bandinelli il Giovane (1579–1636). The concepts of efficiency and effectiveness have been defined in the field of business sciences, but have had a much wider impact. An efficient and effective administrative system, in fact, affects the system of values that are the basis of our society, since it makes it possible for citizens to concretely enjoy the services that are recognized by the regulatory system. This requirement appears even more meaningful in Italy, where the principle of so-called "substantial" equality is recognized by the Constitution.; Il libro affronta la questione del buon andamento della pubblica amministrazione usando un approccio interdisciplinare (giuridico, politologico, aziendalistico, ed economico). I concetti di efficienza ed efficacia sono stati definiti nell’ambito delle scienze aziendalistiche, ma hanno avuto un impatto ben più ampio. Un sistema amministrativo efficiente ed efficace, infatti, incide sul sistema di valori che sono a base della nostra società, poiché rende possibile ai cittadini fruire concretamente dei servizi che sono loro riconosciuti dall’ordinamento normativo. Tale esigenza appare ancora più pregnante in Italia, ove il principio di eguaglianza “sostanziale” è riconosciuto dalla Costituzione.

    Description: Izsledki raziskave slovenskega oblačilnega izrazja v Kanalski dolini, ki je v sodelovanju s Slovenskim kulturnim središčem Planika Kanalska dolina potekala v letih 2003–2007, so v monografiji urejeni v trijezični (slovensko-italijansko-nemški) konkordančni izrazijski slovar. Začetna, slovensko-italijanska razdelka vsebujeta prepis narečnega besedila Oblačila naših dedkov in babic glavne informantke Marie Moschitz, obogaten s slikovnim gradivom, in slovarski uvod s predstavitvijo raziskave, prikazom sestave gesel ter seznamom kratic in krajšav. Slovar v celoti temelji na prepisih posnetkov narečnih besedil, urejenih v podatkovno zbirko. Lažje iskanje po slovarju (tudi več- in drugojezičnim uporabnikom) omogočajo knjižnoslovensko-narečni, italijansko-slovenskonarečni in nemško-slovenskonarečni seznam.

    Description: The contributions thematise love to a homeland in groups and individuals who fail to conform to the dominant understanding of patriotism~this often renders them inapt patriots and they are, hence, symbolically deprived of loving their homeland. The authors thematise love for homeland(s) in im/migrants, members of ethnic and sexual minorities, mixed marriage children, anarchists and social critics and activists. The authors and the people depicted stand for understanding and practicing the so-called critical patriotism, a practice best subsumed in the phrase: “use your mind”.
    Description: Prispevki v knjigi tematizirajo ljubezen do domovine pri posameznikih in skupinah, ki ne ustrezajo prevladujočem pojmovanju domoljuba, zaradi česar se jim simbolno odvzame pravica do ljubezni do domovine. Avtorji obravnavajo ljubezen do domovin/e pri izseljencih, priseljencih, pripadnikih etničnih in spolnih manjšin, otrocih iz mešanih zakonov, anarhistih ter družbenih kritikih in aktivistih. Tako avtorji prispevkov kot njihovi akterji se zavzemajo za razumevanje in prakticiranje kritičnega domoljubja, za držo, ki jo najbolje povzemajo besede »misli s svojo glavo«.

    Description: Presented are seven folktales from Resia in northern Italy with a strong Slovene minority. On CD are presented narratives which have been recorded on magnetic tape by Academician Milko Matičetov. Translations from the Resian dialect in Slovene and in Italian language are published in accompanying book. One folk tale was recently recorded by Roberto Dapit in the Resian village of Lischiazze/Liščaci, and has been included in the collection to illustrate contemporary Resian narrative tradition. The tales recorded on the compact disk represent four different language groups of the Resian dialect, namely that of Stolvizza/Solbica, Oseacco/Osojane, San Giorgio/Bila, and Gniva/Njiva. This work was done within the project Zborzbirk.
    Description: Predstavljenih je sedem rezijanskih pravljic: na zgoščenki v govorjeni besedi po magnetofonskih posnetkih akademika Milka Matičetovega, v knjigi pa v slovenskem in italijanskem prevodu. Eno izmed pravljic je nedavno posnel Roberto Dapit v Liščacih v Reziji (Italija), in je vključena v ta izbor zato, da bi pokazali, kako ljudsko pripovedništvo v Reziji še naprej živi. Pravljice, ki jih lahko poslušamo na tej zgoščenki, so bile zbrane iz arhivskih posnetkov in pripovedovane v vseh glavnih rezijanskih jezikovnih področjih oz. predstavljajo štiri različne govorne skupine rezijanskega narečja območij Solbice, Osojan, Bile in Njive. Delo je nastalo v okviru bilateralnega projekta ZBORZBIRK Kulturna dediščina v zbirkah med Alpami in Krasom.

    Description: The monograph La religiosità popolare in Val Canale: Il teschio lavato e avvolto nel panno (Popular piety in the Canale Valley: The skull that is washed and wrapped in cloth) is re-writed and updated version of Slovenian monograph Ljudska religioznost v Kanalski dolini: O umiti in v prt zaviti lobanji (2014). The book illustrates the festive year of Slovenes in the Canale Valley from the perspective of current ritualistic practices (still in use today). The identifying elements of the Slovenian linguistic community are recognizable in the implementation of various (popular) religious practices by the local population. The author presents the rituals (with selected prayer formulas), described as an integral part of their life by Slovenian-speaking informants - all of whom are indigenous, native people of the Canale Valley - that was described, from the point of view of experts in the fields (e.g. Kuret 1989) as typical of the Slovenian community in general.

Posebna pozornost je namenjena še v začetku 21. stoletja živemu obrednemu »umivanju in zavijanju lobanje zadnjega pokopanega pokojnika«, o katerega razširjenosti med Slovenci so v preteklosti pisali že E. Gasparini (1952), M. Matičetov (1955) in H. Maister (1975), zapisi o prisotnosti tovrstnega obrednega umivanja v Srbiji in Makedoniji (E. Schneeweis 1935) pa namigujejo na morebitno vezanost obredja na širši južnoslovanski prostor. Gre za dopolnjeno različico slovenske monografije iz leta 2014.

    Description: Podnebje in turizem sta običajno tesno povezana. Smučanje brez snega in nizkih temperatur ni možno, če omenimo samo najbolj neposredno povezavo. Zaradi tega je bilo v zadnjih letih opravljenih veliko raziskav o vplivu podnebnih sprememb na turizem v gorskih območjih. In o tem govori knjiga ClimAlpTour. Podnebne spremembe in njihov vpliv na turizem v Alpah, ki je nastala v projektu z istim imenom iz programa Evropskega teritorialnega sodelovanja, Alpski prostor, ter izšla v slovenskem, angleškem, italijanskem, nemškem in francoskem jeziku. Ponuja širok spekter vsebin: od pričakovanih učinkov dvigovanja temperature na turizem, vpliva teh sprememb na razvoj Alp do rešitev oziroma prilagoditvenih strategij.     Description: Il miglioramento verso un assetto poligenerativo degli attuali impianti altoatesini di gassificazione della biomassa legnosa, dove oltre all’energia si possa produrre biochar di qualità da impiegare in agricoltura come ammendante con effetti positivi sulla fertilità dei suoli e sulla mitigazione dei cambiamenti climatici è la visione che ha sostenuto il progetto WOOD-UP. Il progetto, finanziato con fondi FESR 2014-2020, ha visto la collaborazione tra la Libera Università di Bolzano e il Centro di Sperimentazione Laimburg. L’analisi del ciclo di vita e di scenario dell’intera filiera di gassificazione ha evidenziato elementi di forza e di debolezza dell’attuale filiera in termini di impatti ambientali e ha permesso di avanzare proposte di miglioramento sulla base dei risultati ottenuti dalla sperimentazione.

    Description: This investigation sheds light on Isaac Argyrus and his scholarly work in 14th-century Constantinople on the basis of his book production: it　thus fills a major desideratum of cultural-historical, paleographical, and textual critical studies on the Palaeologan Age. After a brief introduction summing up the state of the art, the available textual sources are discussed in order to define the timeframe of Argyrus' life and to gather all information about him and his career. A complete lists of the manuscript collection copied by Argyrus introduces the pivotal aspect of the research: the analysis of Argyrus’ handwriting in relation with the contemporary graphic context. Since Argyrus seems to have mastered two types of handwriting, a formal one and a cursive one, his graphic training must have been based on two differed models: on the one side the hand of his teacher, Nicephorus Gregoras, on the other one a writing style widespread in the XIV century, known as Τῶν῾ Οδηγῶν. The paleographical point of view leads also to the reconstruction of Argyrus' scholarly enviroment, through a detailed description of hands of the scribes who collaborated with him. The writing procedure followed by Argyrus in the composition of his theological treatises eanbles a sound definition of his skills as author. Descriptive reports of each analysed codex conclude the volume. Večino si je mogoče ogledati po predhodnem dogovoru in prek spleta. Vodnik je nastal v okviru projekta ZBORZBIRK, ki je bil sofinanciran v Programu čezmejnega sodelovanja Slovenija-Italija 2007–2013.

    Description: The monograph Shranli smo jih v bančah ('We saved them in chests') aims to present Slovenian clothing terminology in the Canale Valley (Slo. Kanalska dolina). It is the result of research conducted in cooperation with the Planika Kanalska dolina Slovenian cultural centre between 2003–2007 and in 2014. It has been formatted as a trilingual (English-German-Italian) concordance dictionary in which the most common collocations are presented alongside clothing terminology. The dictionary includes 657 entries and is based on approximately 1,400 audio extracts from around 16 hours of recording of guided conversations with five informants from Valbruna (Slo. Ovčja vas), Camporosso (Slo. Žabnice) and Uggoviza (Slo. Ukve). The dictionary’s introduction, containing a presentation of the research conducted, the structure of the dictionary entries and a list of abbreviations and acronyms, is accompanied by a transcription of the dialect text Oblačila naših dedkov in babic (Our grandparents’ clothing) by the main informant, Maria Moschitz, together with some photographic material. To make searching through the dictionary easier for users with expertise in several or other languages as well, we have provided lists of entries in which dialect words can be searched against Standard Slovenian, Italian and German, as well as reverse index.
    Description: Izsledki raziskave slovenskega oblačilnega izrazja v Kanalski dolini, ki je v sodelovanju s Slovenskim kulturnim središčem Planika Kanalska dolina potekala v letih 2003–2007, so v monografiji urejeni v trijezični (slovensko-italijansko-nemški) konkordančni izrazijski slovar. Začetna, slovensko-italijanska razdelka vsebujeta prepis narečnega besedila Oblačila naših dedkov in babic glavne informantke Marie Moschitz, obogaten s slikovnim gradivom, in slovarski uvod s predstavitvijo raziskave, prikazom sestave gesel ter seznamom kratic in krajšav. Slovar v celoti temelji na prepisih posnetkov narečnih besedil, urejenih v podatkovno zbirko. Lažje iskanje po slovarju (tudi več- in drugojezičnim uporabnikom) omogočajo knjižnoslovensko-narečni, italijansko-slovenskonarečni in nemško-slovenskonarečni seznam.

    Description: Important anniversaries of prominent historians have become traditional opportunities for the gift to the celebrator in the form of scientific contributions from his colleagues and the colleagues who have worked with him fruitfully or are still doing so. Marušičev zbornik is a tribute to one of the leading historians of the Slovene region in contact with its western neighbors, historian prof. Branko Marušič at the age of 80. He has created a very important oeuvre, while outlining basic research directions, which some have continued to gain. One of the prominent results of this “scientific transfer” is the present scientific monograph, with the highly significant subtitle, Zgodovinopisec zahodnega roba (The Historian of West Edge). In a single volume, it represents the contribution of different generations of historians to new insights into the history of coastal space, especially that of the borderland, which throughout history has encountered coexistence with “the other.” Different historical sources and their careful analyzes and interpretations, which the authors place in different time contexts, contribute to new or original scientific knowledge. The monograph is actual and important for the development of historiography, also because of the development of Slovenian scientific terminology.

Gorazd Bajc, postajajo pomembni jubileji vidnih zgodovinarjev že tradicionalne priložnosti poklona slavljencu v obliki znanstvenih prispevkov kolegov in kolegic, ki so z njim plodno sodelovali oziroma to še vedno počnejo. Marušičev zbornik je poklon enemu izmed vodilnih preučevalcev zgodovine slovenskega prostora v stiku z zahodnimi sosedi, zgodovinarju prof. dr. Branku Marušiču ob njegovi 80-letnici. Ustvaril je zelo pomemben opus, obenem pa začrtal temeljne raziskovalne usmeritve, ki so jih nekateri s pridom nadaljevali. Eden izmed vidnih rezultatov tega »znanstvenega prenosa« je pričujoča znanstvena monografija z zelo pomenljivim podnaslovom Zgodovinopisec zahodnega roba. Na enem samem mestu namreč predstavlja doprinos različnih generacij zgodovinarjev k novim spoznanjem o zgodovini primorskega prostora, posebej tistega mejnega, ki se je skozi zgodovino ves čas srečeval s sobivanjem z »drugim«. Različni zgodovinski viri in njihove pozorne analize ter interpretacije, ki jih avtorji umeščajo v različne časovne kontekste, prispevajo k novim oziroma izvirnim znanstvenim spoznanjem.

This book answers to this important need of Dante Studies, offering an important tool for the increasing community of specialists interested in Dante’s works and posterity linked to the seventh centenary of his death (2021). A section is devoted to study in depth the theory and practice of the dictamen of the age in relationship with the concrete style of Dante’s texts. A preliminary overview is provided by Latin Philologists and Paleographers on the subject of the manuscript trasmission envisaging the problems dealing with the critical editions of the texts.     Description: Lying between the grammarians` and rhetors` domains, Aesop`s fables were known and employed in the Western and Eastern educational environments mainly for their intrinsically moral essence.     Description: This bibliographic documentation follows the two comprehensive bibliographies on the Rhaeto-Romance language, the Rätoromanische Bibliographie (Maria Iliescu / Heidi Siller-Runggaldier) and the Rätoromanische Bibliographie 1985-1997 (Heidi Siller-Runggaldier / Paul Videsott). All data contained in these works have been integrated in this bibliography and updated until 2010. The nearly 5000 entries that cover a period from 1729 to 2010 are newly arranged according to subject areas and chronologically increasing publication dates. Consequently, this bibliography becomes a sort of “reading book of the history of science" representing the state of the art of international Rhaeto-Romance studies.

Durch die neue Anordnung der bibliographischen Daten nach Sachbereichen und chronologisch ansteigendem Publikationsdatum werden die knapp 5000 Einträge aus dem Zeitraum zwischen 1729 und 2010 zu einer Art „wissenschaftsgeschichtlichem Lesebuch“ zum state of the art der internationalen Rätoromanistik.

    Description: How do Torquato Tasso and Giovan Battista Marino react to the vigilant and normative context between the 16th and 17th centuries? Two evasive tactics designed to safeguard lewdness and enchantment in the poems are considered, starting from the relationship the two authors had with norms and rules: allegory on the one hand, and disguise on the other. Tasso's path is evolutionary and his opinion changes according to the internalisation of laws and values that lead to a re-evaluation of his initial opinions, while Marino transgresses the rules and uses typically defensive elements - such as allegory - overturning them and inventing a concealed offensive use. In this context, the paratextual allegories of Marino's Adonis, hitherto ill-considered by critics, are thus re-evaluated, and the Tasso route is reconsidered from a perspective that sees the two authors not as victims of a censorial system, but as active participants.
