The reaction of cyclopentadienyl iron dicarbonyl halides with halide acceptors under suitable conditions yields red, diamagnetic cations of the type [C5H5Fe(CO)2—X—(CO)2FeC5H5]+ (X = Cl, Br, J), which can be isolated as hexafluorophosphates and tetrafluoroborates. A summary is given about their preparation and properties; especially a new method is described, by which the hitherto unknown chlorine complex can be obtained, too. As the new complex cations are very sensitive to nucleophilic attack, the fission of the halogen bridge by electron donators leads to cations of the type [C5H5Fe(CO)2L]+. IR- and PMR-spectroscopic investigation of the reaction product with acrylonitrile gave evidence of a metal-nitrogen bond.

Durch Umsetzung von Cyclopentadienyl-eisen-dicarbonyl-halogeniden mit Halogenidacceptoren unter geeigneten Bedingungen können rote, diamagnetische Komplexkationen vom Typ [C5H5Fe(CO)2—X—(CO)2FeC5H5]+ (X = Cl, Br, J) erhalten und als Hexafluorophosphate und Tetrafluoroborate isoliert werden. Darstellung und Eigenschaften werden zusammengefaßt, ein neues präparatives Verfahren wird beschrieben, das sowohl die Isolierung der bisher noch unbekannt gewesenen Chlorverbindung ermöglicht, als auch zur einfachen Darstellung der Brom- und Jodkomplexe geeignet ist. Die neuen Kationen sind gegen nucleophile Angriffe sehr empfindlich, so daß durch Reaktion mit Elektronendonatoren Kationen vom Typ [C5H5Fe(CO)2L]+ unter Spaltung der Halogenbrücke erhalten werden können. Die Umsetzung mit Acrylnitril führt zu einem [C5H5Fe(CO)2NCC2H3+]-Kation, in dem das Nitril nach IR- und PMR-spektroskopischen Untersuchungen über den Stickstoff an das Metall gebunden ist.
