Description / Table of Contents:
The reactions of N-carbethoxy-azepine and 2,4,6-trimethyl-N-carbethoxy-azepine with various metallic carbonyls have been studied. On reaction of N-carbethoxy-azepine with chromium hexacarbonyl benzene chromium tricarbonyl is formed through elimination of the urethan group. The analogous reaction with trimethyl-N-carbethoxy-azepine results in the formation of mesitylurethan chromium tricarbonyl.Iron pentacarbonyl, however, yielded the first stable N-carbethoxy-azepine iron tricarbonyl complexes whose alkaline hydrolysis leads to the corresponding azepine iron tricarbonyl complexes with a free N-H group. The structure of the various complexes has been confirmed by means of IR- and PMR-spectra and by total analysis.
Notes:
