    Description: In this study monoculture of roach (Rurilus rutilus caspicus) in freshwater and brackish water with 3 stocking densities as 10000, 15000, and 20000 specimens per hectare with 3 replications each carried out from the beginning of May till October 2001. Moreover, in order to, compare cultivation of roach in freshwater with brackish water another density of 10000 specimens per hectare with 3 replication also took place. Fingerlings from the Sijoval cultivation Center were stocked in a pond for wintering and after preparation of rearing ponds in second year were introduced to the pond according to appropriate and calculated stocking density. Fingerlings were fed by concentrated food which is given to white fish for feeding (SFK) up to 30 g in weight of fingerlings. Feeding calculation based on percentage of body weight varied from 5 to 15 % of body weight. Moreover, appetite of fish also considered for feeding the fingerlings. Average weight and length in the first year from hatching time up to the end of rearing period were 5.55±1.58 g and 8.57±1.02 cm. Results indicate that in the second year and in the different stocking density the average weight and length at the end of cultivation period with minimum treatment were 56.68±16.5 g and 16.79±1.21 cm respectively. In maximum stocking density the mean average length was 16.74±1.23 cm and mean average weight was 55.33±16.5. In order to compare cultivation of roach in freshwater with brackish water another stocking density of 10000 specimens per hectare with 3 replications also took place in this study. Fingerlings with average weight of 6.5±1.82 g and average length of 9.5±1.24 cm were introduced to the ponds. At the end of rearing period average final weight was 48.53±9.41 g with average length of 15.15±1.08 cm. Average daily growth in freshwater treatment from the minimum to the maximum stocking density was 0.22, 0.26, and 0.23 respectively. In brackish water replication the average daily growth was 0.22. FCR in the freshwater treatment from the minimum to the maximum stocking density was 4.4, 4.46, and 4.4 respectively and in brackish water it was 3.14. Average condition factor in freshwater was from 2.41 in the second treatment to 2.69 in the first treatment and 2.56 in the third treatment. The average value CF in brackish water was 1.39. Survival rate in the freshwater treatment from the minimum to the maximum stocking density was 85.41, 82.21, and 82.76 % respectively and in brackish water it was 88.73.

    Description: This paper presents the results of a parasitological study on internal parasitic infections in saposhnikovi shad, Alosa saposchnikowii, from the southern part of the Caspian Sea. In this regard 30 fish were studied for abdominal cavity parasites in February 2014. Results showed all of the specimens were infected at least with one kind of parasite and there was no significant difference in parasitic infections between males and females. According to the results three kinds of parasites including one trematode (Pronoprymna ventricosa) and two kinds of nematodes (Anisakis simplex and Eustrongylides sp) were isolated from the abdominal cavity of the studied fish. 43.33% of the specimens were infected with A. simplex, 96.66% were infected with P. ventricosa and 16.66% of the specimens were infected with Eustrongylides sp. Intensity of infection to A. simplex, P. ventricosa and Eustrongylides sp in saposhnikovi shad was calculated as, 3.46 ± 1.76, 131 ±16.78 and 2 ± 0.71, respectively. According to the results 33.33% intestine, 10% liver and 6.66% mesentery of specimens were infected with A. simplex, 26.66% stomach, 86.66% pyloric caeca and 66.66% intestine of studied fish were infected with P. ventricosa and Eustrongylides sp was isolated in 13.33% mesentery and 3.33% liver of the specimens. It seems this is the first record of A. simplex and Eustrongylides sp infection from saposhnikovi shad in Iran. These parasites are important because of their pathogenicity in fish and zoonotic risk in human health care.

    Description: To evaluate the infection of carp bream (Abramis brama) with ligula intestinalis in Golestan province, 92 fish samples from two regions: Gorganroud (61 samples) and Alagol lake (31 samples) were investigated. According to the result in the present study, the prevalence of ligula intestinalis plerocercoid infestation in carp bream from Alagol Lake for male, female and overall (male and female) were 5.88%, 7.14% and 6.45%, respectively, also in the Gorganroud river for male, female and overall (male and female) were recorded as 22.22%, 26.47%, and 24.59%, respectively. Based on the statistical analysis, the prevalence of this parasite in fish specimens from the Gorganroud was recorded significantly higher than Alagol lake`s specimens. In this study, the mean intensity ± SD of parasite infestation for carp beam in Alagol Lakes and Gorganroud were recorded as 2.5 ± 2.1 and 2.00 ± 1.25, respectively. There was no significant difference in mean intensity of ligula intestinalis infection between two mentioned regions (P〈0.05). The length of isolated and number of isolated parasites for each infected fish was different between 6 -64 cm and 1-5 numbers respectively. Totally, mean prevalence and intensity of ligula intestinalis infection for both regions in Golestan province were recorded as: 18.48 % and 2.05 ± 1.25 number (per infected fish) respectively. There was no significant difference between male and female for prevalence and intensity of parasite infection in this study (P〈0.05).
