The use of a fused silica capillary column for the gas chromatographic analysis of alkene halohydrin positional isomers is described. This method is illustrated with the complete resolution of the positional isomers for propylene bromohydrin, propylene iodohydrin, and allyl bromide bromohydrin. Comparison with the resolution obtained on a packed column is also provided.
