    Description: Abstract
    Description: The International Geodynamics and Earth Tide Service (IGETS) was established in 2015 by the International Association of Geodesy (IAG). IGETS continues the activities of the Global Geodynamics Project (GGP, 1997-2015) to provide support to geodetic and geophysical research activities using superconducting gravimeter (SG) data within the context of an international network. The Hurbanovo gravimetric observatory in southern Slovakia was established in 2019 as a part of the integrated station HUVO (GNSS permanent station and seismic station). HUVO is located on a ground floor in a small building in the vicinity of the Hurbanovo Geomagnetic Observatory, which was founded on September 30, 1900. Integration of InSAR transponder into current station architecture is also planned in 2022. The gravimetric observatory equipped with the spring gravimeter gPhoneX #108 provides continuous time-varying gravity and atmospheric pressure data. The spring gravimeter gPhoneX #108 is installed on a concrete block isolated from the rest of the building grounding. The room containing gravimeter is thermally stabilized at around 22 ± 1°C using an air conditioning unit. An additional thermal polystyrene insulation is placed around the instrument further decreasing temperature variations on its surface. Concerning signal to noise ratio, the HUVO station can be characterized as moderately noisy. The operation and maintenance of the HUVO gravimetric instrumentation is done mainly by the staff of the Slovak University of Technology. HUVO gravimetric observatory is also equipped with the accelerometer Raspberry Shake (4D) installed on the same concrete block as the spring gravimeter, operated by the staff of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Several other meteorological sensors are also present at the site in the close vicinity of the gPhoneX #108: the meteorological station MWS 9-5, a well equipped with the ground-water level sensor and a total number of 16 sensors measuring the soil moisture. These sensors provide information necessary for modelling the gravity response associated with the variation of local hydrological masses.

    Description: Abstract
    Description: This dataset includes surface 3D stereoscopic Digital Image Correlation (3D stereo DIC) images and videos of 9 analogue models on crustal scale rifting with a rotational component. Using a brittle-viscous two-layer setup, the experiments focused on near-surface fault growth, rift segment interaction and rift propagation. All experiments were performed at the Tectonic Modelling Laboratory of the University of Bern (UB). All models consist of a two-layer brittle-viscous set up with a total thickness of 6 cm. Thickness variations in ductile and brittle layers are expressed by the ratio RBD = brittle layer thickness/ductile layer thickness, which ranges from RBD = 1 to RBD = 3. The model set up lies on top of a 5 cm thick foam base with a trapezoidal shape with a height of 900 mm and a pair of bases of 310 mm and 350 mm. The foam block is sliced into segments such that 7 interlayered 0.5 cm thick plexiglass bars prevent foam collapse under the model weight. The foam base is initially compressed between the longitudinal side walls and homogeneously expands during the rotational opening. Applied velocities refer to the divergence of the sidewalls at the outermost point (i.e., furthest away from the rotation axis) and decrease linearly towards the rotation axis. These velocities vary from 10 mm/h over a total run time of 4 h up to 40 mm/h over a total run time of one hour, resulting in identical total extension of ca 13% (given an initial model width of 31 cm) for all models.     Description: Abstract
    Description: This data publication is a new compilation of land gravity data expressing the Earth’s gravitational acceleration field on the broader area of the European Alps. The dataset is based on national databases from 10 countries, but surmounts any barriers related to national reference systems. The input to this dataset is the largest Alpine compilation of point-wise data on land ever, and also includes marine data in adjacent regions in the Mediterranean Sea. Following quality control, this represents a total of 349’938 terrestrial gravity points and about 700’000 marine stations. Only such a dataset allows to investigate the Alpine orogen from shallow (sedimentary) to large (mantle) depths, which is among the primary goals of the AlpArray science program. Broad effort to collect all existing, public and private, point-based gravity data in the area of interest: 2-23°E, 41-51°N. The final, published grids are shared with the community on a 4*4 km2 grid; the results on 2*2 km2 grid are available upon request and approval from the group. We developed and fine-tuned an approach in which all raw data could be processed in the same, homogeneous way. Outliers were discarded. Full details are given in the reference publication (Zahorec et al., 2020).

    Description: This dataset includes surface 3D stereoscopic Digital Image Correlation (3D stereo DIC) images and videos of 10 analogue models on crustal scale rifting with a rotational component. In addition, this dataset provides CT imagery of four analogue models that have been analyzed by means of Digital Volume Correlation (DVC) applied on X-Ray computed tomography volumes. Data of CT scanned models also includes slices of the volumetric displacement set for each displacement component. Using a brittle-viscous two-layer setup, the experiments focused on surface rift propagation, internal viscous flow driven by a horizontal pressure gradient and the interaction of internal and surface deformation. All experiments were performed at the Tectonic Modelling Laboratory of the University of Bern (UB). 3D stereo DIC analyses were performed at the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) and DVC analyses were performed at the Royal Holloway University London (RHUL). All models consist of a two-layer brittle-viscous set up with a total thickness of 6 cm. Thickness variations in brittle and ductile layers are expressed by the ratio RBD = brittle layer thickness/ductile layer thickness, which ranges from RBD = 0.5 to RBD = 2. The model set up lies on top of a 5 cm thick foam base with a trapezoidal shape with a height of 900 mm and a pair of bases with widths of 310 mm and 350 mm at the far ends, respectively. The foam block is sliced into segments such that 7 interlayered 0.5 cm thick plexiglass bars prevent foam collapse under the model weight. Before model construction, the foam-plexiglass assemblage is placed between longitudinal side walls. The experimental set-up is such that rotational extension in one part of the model domain is separated from rotational shortening in the other part of the model domain by a vertical rotation axis (Fig. 1). During the model run, the foam homogeneously expands in the domain undergoing extension and homogeneously contracts in the domain undergoing shortening. The applied velocity for all models is 10 mm/h and refers to the divergence of the sidewalls furthest away from the rotation axis which decreases linearly towards the rotation axis. This results in a maximum displacement of 40 mm at the outermost circular segment after a total run time of 4h.

    Description: Abstract
    Description: The Global Gravity-based Groundwater Product (G3P) provides groundwater storage anomalies (GWSA) from a cross-cutting combination of GRACE/GRACE-FO-based terrestrial water storage (TWS) and storage compartments of the water cycle (WSCs) that are part of the Copernicus portfolio. The data set comprises gridded anomalies of groundwater, TWS, and the WSCs glacier, snow, soil moisture and surface water bodies plus layers containing uncertainty information for the individual data products. All WSCs are spatially filtered with a Gaussian filter to be compatible with TWS. Spatial coverage is global, except Greenland and Antarctica, with 0.5-degree resolution. Temporal coverage is from April 2002 to December 2020 with monthly temporal resolution. Gridded data sets are available as NetCDF files containing variables for the parameter value as anomaly in mm equivalent water height and the parameter’s uncertainty as mm equivalent water height. The latest version of the data is visualized at the GravIS portal: http://gravis.gfz-potsdam.de/gws. From GravIS, the data is also available as area averages for several large river basins and aquifers, as well as for climatically similar regions.     Description: This dataset comprises the analyses of the intraoceanic arc rocks of the Olyutorsky terrain: major elements, minor elements, platinum-group elements, Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, Lu-Hf and Pb-Pd isotopic systems. Samples are late Cretaceous in age and comprise picrites from the Tumrok and Valaginsky Ranges, and picrites, magnesian basalts and basalts from the Koryak Highlands. Major elements were measured by XRF, minor/trace elements by ICP-MS at the University of Tasmania (in 2019) and the Russian Geological Institute (in 2015); platinum-group elements were measured by ICP-MS using the Ni sulfide fire assay-isotope dilution method at the Seoul National University. Radiogenic (Sr-Nd-Hf-Pb) isotope compositions were determined at the University of Melbourne and the Institute of the Earth’s Crust, Irkutsk, using multi-collector ICP-MS in 2019. A subset of these data were originally published as a supplement to Kutyrev et al. (2021), Primitive high-K intraoceanic arc magmas of Eastern Kamchatka: Implications for Paleo-Pacific tectonics and magmatism in the Cretaceous, Earth-Science Reviews 220, 103703, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.earscirev.2021.103703. The repository archives, publishes and makes accessible user-contributed, peer-reviewed research data in standardised form (EarthChem Team, 2022) that fall within the scope of the GEOROC database. All submissions of new data will be considered for inclusion in the GEOROC database. It is hosted at GFZ Data Services through a collaboration between the Digital Geochemical Data Infrastructure (DIGIS) for GEOROC 2.0 (http://digis.geo.uni-goettingen.de) and the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences.

    Description: This dataset, consisting of 3 separate files, provides the basis for our manuscript entitled "Saxitoxin and tetrodotoxin bioavailability increases in future oceans". Each file contains the data for one figure. For detailed calculation methods please refer to the method and supplementary information sections of the associated manuscript. Fig1_STX_and_TTX_pH-availability contains abundance data of saxitoxin (STX) and tetrodotoxin (TTX) protonation states across the pH range from 6 to 10 at 3 different temperatures. It is calculated based on published pKa data using the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation. Temperature is taken into account employing a pKa-influencing factor of -0.2/+10C. Fig2_Dinos_HAEDAT_STX_concatenated contains all the information required for plotting the pH and temperature dependent global toxicity map. It combines georeferenced records for localities with STX-related HABs (extracted from the Harmful Algal Information System metadatabase - HAEDAT) and the distribution of two dinoflagellate genera, which are known to produce STX, Gymnodinium and Alexandrium (extracted from the NOAA COPEPOD database). For each location we also extracted current and future pH and sea surface temperature from the Global marine environment dataset (GMED)/ IPCC (WCRP CMIP3) multi-model database. We calculated the abundance of the toxic STX form based on the pH and temperature for each of the respective locations in current and future conditions. Fig3_STXinClamTissue contains the compiled total STX content in clam tissue data from the PSP Program website of the Quagan Tayagungin Tribe for the time frame between June 2012 and July 2018 for each month at Spit Beach, Sand Point (Alaska). Based on this data we further calculated the current and future toxic proportion of this total STX content for the location's specific current and future temperature and pH data.

    Description: Deep-sea sediment samples were taken from the (wider) Kairei hydrothermal field area (25°S, 70°E) as well as a remote site (26°S, 71°E) in the Indian Ocean during the INDEX cruise 2016 with the N/O Pourquoi pas? (Ifremer, France). Push core samples from different areas of the Kairei vent field, as well as a sample from the remote site (~200 km south-east from the Kairei), were recovered with the help of the ROV VICTOR 6000 (Ifremer, France). All subsampling steps were carried out shipboard at 4 °C. With sterile syringes (nozzles removed) 3 ml of 2 cm layers of sediment were transferred into sterile falcon tubes for DNA extraction and stored at –80 °C. The remaining sediment was cut into 2 cm slices, freeze-dried, and partially milled to 〈75 mm for geochemical analyses. The sediment was analyzed for carbon chemistry, i.e. total organic carbon (TOC) and total inorganic carbon (TIC) with routine standard methods (IR-detection after combustion, ISO 10694, LECO CS 230 analyzer). Elemental composition of Kairei sediments was estimated by the accredited Actlab Laboratories, Canada (Multimethod mix called Ultratrace 3 program, using INAA, 4-Acid Digestion, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS). Sediments from the remote station were analyzed by routine WD-XRF after fusion with Li-Metaborate/Li-Bromide (XRF spectrometers Philips PW 2400 und Philips PW 1480).
