    Description / Table of Contents: Electrocrystallization of FulleridesThe fullerides P(C6H5)4C60 · P(C6H5)4Cl, P(C6H5)4C60 · P(C6H5)4Br und As(C6H5)4C60 · As(C6H5)4Cl have been prepared by electrocrystallization. Single crystal structure determinations have shown them to be isostructural in space group I4/m with lattice constants a = 12.5731(9), c = 20.142(3) Å; a = 12.5378(10), c = 20.606(5) Å; a = 12.6003(11), c = 20.377(4) Å, respectively. Spectroscopic and magnetic investigations prove the existence of a C60- anion, showing orientational disorder in all three fullerides.

Description / Table of Contents: On the Crystal Chemical Similarity of Auride and Halide AnionsThe crystallographic properties of the aurides M3AuO and the alkalimetal halide oxides M3XO (M = K, Rb, Cs; × = Br, I) are compared. Rb3BrO, Rb3IO, Cs3BrO, and Cs3IO have been prepared and characterized for the first time: Rb3BrO (a = 5.465(1) Å) crystallizes as a cubic anti perovskite, Cs3BrO (a = 7.800(6), c = 7.122(6) Å) and Cs3IO (a = 8.056(3), c = 7.168(3) Å) as hexagonal anti perovskites, Rb3IO (a = 7.889(1), c = 19.640(1) Å) as a hexagonal anti BaTiO3 type. The analysis of bond lengths, molar volumes and the systematic of the crystal structures leeds to the conclusion, that the crystallographic properties of auride- and bromide anions are similar. The radius of the Au- has been found to be 2.2 Å (KZ 12).

Description / Table of Contents: Studies on Sodium Trifluormethanesulfonate - Crystal Structure and Phase Transition of Sodium Trifluormethanesulfonate Monohydrate and Sodium Ion Conductivity of Anhydrous Sodium TrifluormethanesulfonateAccording to the results of temperature dependent powder diffractometry (Guinier-Simon-technique) sodium trifluormethanesulfonate monohydrate is dimorphous. The phase transition occurs at -35°C. The room-temperature modification crystallizes monoclinic in space group P21/c with the lattice parameters a = 941.6(5) pm, b = 654.3(2) pm, c = 1062.4(5) pm and β = 107.73(2)°. The crystal structure consists of double layers of trifluormethanesulfonate anions, the lipophilic CF3-groups pointing at each other. Sodium is coordinated by four oxygen atoms from four different anions and by two molecules of crystal water. The resulting polyhedron may be addressed as a distorted octahedron. The low-temperature modification crystallizes orthorhombic in space group Pnma with the lattice parameters a = 645.31(9) pm, b = 538.03(9) pm, c = 1745.3(3) pm. The loss of crystal water occurs at 136°C. Anhydrous sodium trifluormethanesulfonate shows a phase transition at 252°C. The high-temperature modification is a good sodium ionic conductor (σ = 4.1 · 10-1 Ω-1 cm-1 at 250°C).

    Description / Table of Contents: On the Crystal Structures of CsBiO2 and Cs3BiO3CsBiO2 (pale yellow) and Cs3BiO3 (yellow) were obtained by solid state reactions of the binary components Cs2O und Bi2O3 at temperatures of 700°C and 550°C, respectively, The crystal structure of CsBiO2 (C2/c, a = 827.4(2), b = 920.4(2), c = 597.87(9) pm, β = 122.51(1)°, Z = 4, 975 diffractometer data, R1 = 0.058, wR2 = 0.077) contains infinite ∞1[BiO2/2O′2/2] chains. The structure determination of Cs3BiO3 (P213, a = 920,86(8), Z = 4, 289 diffractometer data, R1 = 0,048, wR2 = 0.081) reveals ‘isolated’ BiO33- groups. In this structure the cation arrangement is the same as that of the atoms in the intermetallic phase Cs3Bi.
550°C dargestellt. In CsBiO2 liegen nach der Einkristallröntgenstrukturanalyse (C2/c; a = 827,4(2); b = 920,4(2); c = 597,87(9) pm; β = 122,51(1)°; Z = 4; 975 Diffraktometerdaten; R1 = 0,058; wR2 = 0,077) unendlich ausgedehnte ∞1[BiO2/2O′2/2]-Ketten vor. Description / Table of Contents: Reinvestigation of Rubidiumsesquioxide, Rb4O6Rb4O6 was prepared as a pure substance by solid state reaction between Rb2O2 and RbO2; it proves to be thermodynamically stable. The suggested structure was confirmed and refined by X-ray powder and single crystal methods (I43d; a = 932,42(4) pm; Rb4(O2-)2(O22-); Z = 4). Rb4O6 melts at 461°C followed by exothermic decomposition. The fact that O2- and O22- cannot be distinguished is discussed.

Description / Table of Contents: Li2H3IO6, a New Variant of the Molybdenite StructureLi2H3IO6 crystallizes in P61 (a = 529.70(8), c = 2 759.6(5) pm; Z = 6). The crystals are twinned by merohedry, described by m ‖ [001] and 2 ⊥ [001]. According to the results of an X-ray structure determination (2 778 diffractometer data, Rw = 0.047), Li2H3IO6 exhibits a layer structure, with oxygen forming a distorted variant of the sulfur partial structure in molybdenite (MoS2), however, with iodine and lithium in the more (Li) or less (I) distorted octahedral holes. The Li2IO6 packages are connected via strong hydrogen bonds along the edges of distorted trigonal prisms.
Notes: Li2H3IO6 kristallisiert in der Raumgruppe P61 (a = 529,70(8), c = 2 759,6(5) pm; Z = 6).
