    Notes: The formation of two kinds of solvation complex of poly(ethylene oxide), polydimethoxyethylene, and polydioxene with some alkali derivatives of fluorene in dioxane was found, differing in the ionic species of the fluorenyl metal in the complex. Additional evidence was found for the existence of peripherally solvated ion pairs of fluorenyllithium, -sodium, and -potassium. It was shown that polydimethoxyethylene and polydioxane interact with different cations in a different manner. The complexing ability of poly(ethylene oxide) and polydioxane with respect to fluorenyllithium, -sodium, and -potassium, and of polydimethoxyethylene for fluorenyllithium, was proved to be stronger than that of their monomer analogs - dimethoxyethane and dioxane. This was explained by the effect of the polymer chain.

    Description / Table of Contents: Die kationische Polymerisation von cis-1,2-Dimethoxyethylen wurde untersucht. Die Bedingungen zur Bildung von Polymeren mit besonders hohen Molekülmassen von etwa 106 wurden festgestellt. Mittels GPC wurde gezeigt, daß die Polymere keine Langkettenverzweigungen aufweisen. Die Molekülmassenverteilung ist unimodal, und das Verhältnis Mw/Mn überschreitet nicht den Wert 1,5. Die Faktoren, die zu einer Erhöhung der Stabilität der aktiven Polymerisationszentren führen, werden diskutiert.
    Notes: The cationic polymerization of cis-1,2-dimethoxyethylene has been investigated and conditions for the formation of polymers of exceptionally high molecular weight of about 106 have been established. It was shown by means of GPC method, that long chain branching was absent, MWD was unimodal and Mw/Mn ratio did not exceed 1.5. The factors increasing the stability of active centres of polymerization are discussed.

    Notes: 9-Anthranylmethyl hexafluorophosphate-a stable primary carbenium salt-is prepared and characterized by UV, VIS, and NMR spectroscopy and by conductometric measurements in methylene chloride. 9-Anthranylmethyl hexafluorophosphate initiates the polymerization of vinyl and heterocyclic monomers. This initiator has higher reactivity than trityl and diphenylmethyl salts. The initiation mechanism of the polymerization of some monomers is investigated.

    Description / Table of Contents: Die Reaktion von Polystyren-Makroanionen mit Poly(dimethoxyethylen)-Makrokationen wurde in Toluenlösung bei -78°C untersucht. Die Reaktionsprodukte wurden nach ihrer Löslichkeit getrennt und spektroskopisch sowie durch GPC analysiert. Es wurde gefunden, daß bei der Reaktion ein Blockcopolymer von cis-1,2-Dimethoxyethylen und Styren entsteht, womit frühere Annahmen über die hohe Stabilität eines aktiven Zentrums bei der Polymerisation von cis-1,2-Dimethoxyethylen bestätigt werden.
    Notes: The reaction of polystyrene macroanions with poly(dimethoxyethylene) macrocations was investigated in a toluene solution at -78°C. The reaction products were separated according to solubility and analyzed by spectroscopic methods and GPC. It was established that a block copolymer of cis-1,2-dimethoxylene and styrene is formed, which confirms previous suggestions about the high stability of an active centre in the polymerization of cis-1,2-dimethoxyethylene.

Die Reaktionsprodukte wurden nach ihrer Löslichkeit getrennt und spektroskopisch sowie mittels GPC analysiert. Es wurde ein Blockcopolymer aus cis-1,2-Dimethoxyethylen und Benzylvinylether gebildet. Der Einfluß der Kettenlänge auf die Reaktivität der Makrokationen wird festgestellt.
    Notes: Sequential copolymerization of cis-1,2-dimethyoxyethylene with benzyl vinyl ether in a toluene solution at -78°C using BF3·O (CH3)2 as initiator has been investigated. The reaction products were separated according to solubility and analyzed with the aid of spectroscopic methods and GPC. It was established that a cis-1,2-dimethyoxyethylenebenzyl vinyl ether block copolymer is formed. The effect of chain length on the reactivity of macrocations is revealed
