    Description / Table of Contents: The pale blue compound K3CoF6, described by KLEMM and Huss3), is in fact K3CoF6 · Li3CoF6, Na3CoF6, Rb3CoF6, and Cs3CoF6 have been prepared and the lattice constants and the magnetic susceptibilities have been determined. The compounds are ionic complexes. As a derivative of CoIV, Cs2CoF6 could be prepared, showing the K2PtCl6-type of structure; its magnetic behaviour is similar to that of penetration complexes.In the case of nickel, K3NiF6 and impure Na3NiF6 have been prepared both showing violet-rose colours. K3NiF6 and K3FeF6 have the same structures. The magnetic behaviour of K3NiF6 is similar to that of penetration complexes.
    Notes: Die früher von KLEMM und HUSS3) als K3CoF7 beschriebene hellblaue Verbindung ist in Wirklichkeit K3CoF6. Ferner wurden Li3CoF6, Na3CoF6, Rb3CoF6 und Cs3CoF6 dargestellt und die Gitterkonstanten und die magnetischen Suszeptibilitäten bestimmt. Es handelt sich durchweg um normale Komplexe. Vom CoIV konnte das hellbraune Cs2CoF6 dargestellt werden; es besitzt K2PtCl6-Struktur und steht magnetisch den Durchdringungskomplexen nahe.Beim Nickel konnten K3NiF6 und - nicht ganz rein - Na3NiF6 als violettrote Verbindungen dargestellt werden. K3NiF6 besitzt die Struktur des K3FeF6 und steht magnetisch den Durchdringungskomplexen nahe.

    Description / Table of Contents: By subjection to discharges from an induction coil, mixtures of xenon and fluorine yield xenon difluoride, XeF2 condensing on a cool finger (-78° C). XeF2 is colourless, has a characteristically nauseating odor, shows birefringence and is diamagnetic and sublimes without decomposition.
    Notes: Durch Einwirkung elektrischer Funkenentladungen auf Gemische von Xenon und Fluor bildet sich Xenondifluorid, XeF2, das sich an einem Kühlfinger (-78° C) kristallin abscheidet. XeF2 ist farblos, riecht eigentümlich dumpf, zeigt Doppelbrechung und ist diamaguetisch. Es ist bei Zimmertemperatur recht beständig und sublimiert unzersetzt.

    Description / Table of Contents: By slowly oxydation of NaTl, a new cubic form of NaTlO2 has been obtained: a=4.76 Å, dx=7.99 and dpyk=7.98 g · cm-3, NaCl type of structure, 2 formula units/unit cell, with random distribution of the cations. At 500°C it transforms to the known hexagonal form of NaTlO2, and annealing (700—750°C) for 6 days yields single crystals of the latter form, the crystal structure of which has been refined by means of FOURIER methods.
    Notes: Durch langsame Oxydation von NaTl wird eine neue, kubische Form von NaTlO2 erhalten: a=4,76 Å, drö=7,99 und dpyk=7,98 g · cm-3, NaCl-Typ mit statistischer Verteilung der Kationen, 2 Formeleinheiten/Elementarzelle. Diese wandelt sich bei 500°C in die bekannte hexagonale Form um und liefert bei sechstägigem Tempern (700—750°C) im verschlossenen Ag-Bömbchen Einkristalle der zweiten Form. Mit Hilfe von FOURIERmethoden wurde deren Kristallstruktur verfeinert.
