Beschreibung: Nowadays, with the development of high resolution remote sensing image and the wide application of laser point cloud data, proceeding objected-oriented remote sensing classification based on the characteristic knowledge of multi-source spatial data has been an important trend on the field of remote sensing image classification, which gradually replaced the traditional method through improving algorithm to optimize image classification results. For this purpose, the paper puts forward a remote sensing image classification method that uses the he characteristic knowledge of multi-source spatial data to build the geographic ontology semantic network model, and carries out the objected-oriented classification experiment to implement urban features classification, the experiment uses protégé software which is developed by Stanford University in the United States, and intelligent image analysis software—eCognition software as the experiment platform, uses hyperspectral image and Lidar...

Beschreibung: China has experienced considerable economic losses from a severe deterioration in air quality. To solve this, a comprehensive understanding of the impacts and sources of air pollution is necessary. This study aimed to quantify the environmental and human health impacts of PM 2.5 and O 3 pollution from the six major emission-producing sectors in China. We utilized a chemical transport model to simulate the air quality impacts engendered by sectoral emissions. The consequent impacts on public health and crop production, as well as the corresponding collateral economic costs, were quantified by concentration-response functions. The results show that the sectoral emissions in 2010 caused approximately 1 143 000 (95% confidence interval (CI): 168 000–1 796 000) premature mortalities and a 20 035 (95% CI: 6776–32 166) Gg crop production loss. Of the six sectors, the industrial sector was the largest contributor of air pollution, accounting for 36% of the total impa...

Notizen: Abstract  The kinetics of pentachlorophenol (PCP) degradation by a Flavobacterium sp. ATCC 39723 has been investigated. Sodium glutamate was supplied as an additional carbon source to increase the rate of cell growth and PCP degradation. A kinetic model including PCP toxicity for cell growth and PCP inhibition of its own degradation was developed. This model was also applied to 2,4-dichlorophenol (DCP) degradation by the same organism. Although PCP and DCP are degraded by different pathways, the model describes these two degradation processes very well.

Notizen: Abstract A cofactor-independent phosphoglycerate mutase (PGAM-i) was isolated to homogeneity from monocotyledonous Lilium longiflorum Thunb. Two-dimensional (2D) polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis resolved three PGAM-i forms. This enzyme was originally identified by cross-reactivity to antibodies affinity-purified from 2D gels using human vitronectin (VN). Antibody produced against a denatured protein spot from a 2D gel did not recognize VN protein, but partial protein and DNA sequencing showed similarity of the former protein to maize PGAM-i. Immunoblots from roots, styles, leaves, and anthers showed the presence of PGAM-i in all tissues examined; it was isolated predominantly from the soluble cell fraction, with some present in the insoluble cell fraction. Immunoelectron microscopy demonstrated its localization in the cytoplasm and plastids in root cells near the apical meristem. In addition, immunogold labeling detected signals from the nucleus. The immunohistochemical localization of the enzyme in the nucleus, as well as in the cytosol and plastids, indicates that lily PGAM-i might have multiple functions in the cell.

Notizen: Abstract We have cloned and sequenced the human θ1-globin gene. The nucleotide sequence and organization of the human θ1 gene (exons, introns, promoter, and polyadenylation signals) are similar to those reported for the orangutan θ1-globin gene. If these genes are functional, the sequences of their θ1-globin chains would differ by only one amino acid residue (at position 137).

Notizen: Abstract We have previously found that tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) induce apoptosis in quiescent human lymphocytes. The aim of the present study was to evaluate if TCAs induce apoptosis in proliferating human lymphocytes and in established blastoid lymphocytes also. The development of conA-induced lymphoblast populations was followed by measuring the CD25 membrane expression. Three TCA compounds were run with the following concentrations: imipramine (10, 20, 30, 40, 60μ M), clomipramine (1, 10, 20, 30, 40μ M) and citalopram (40, 60, 80, 100, 180μ M). They all induced a dose-dependent apoptosis both in continuously transformed, as well as in established lymphoblasts. Preincubation of the TCA up to 48 h did not significantly increase induction of apoptosis. The three drugs tested were found to be potent inducers of apoptosis in proliferating lymphocytes. Furthermore, we found that the apoptotic populations in proliferating and in established blastoid lymphocytes were of f airly the same magnitude than in the corresponding population in TCA-incubated resting lymphocytes. In conclusion, we demonstrate that TCAs induce apoptosis in proliferating lymphocytes, as they do in quiescent lymphocytes. Furthermore, the exent of apoptosis was even more pronounced in TCA-incubated lymphoblasts compared to TCA-treated resting lymphocytes.

Notizen: Abstract Gossypol, a natural polyphenolic compound, induces growth-inhibitory and antiparasitic effects inTaenia taeniaeformis metacestodes in vivo and in vitro. We investigated the uptake and localization of [3H]-gossypol in this parasite. Metacestodes were incubated in 10−5 M [3H]-gossypol at 37°C. Parasites steadily took up tritium activity over the first 3 h of incubation, after which a plateau was maintained for the duration of the experiment. Tissue: medium radioactivity ratios revealed that intralarval tritium activity matched extralarval activity within 30 min of incubation and continued to increase with time. Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) analysis confirmed tissue incorporation of tritium activity that manifested as a single radioactive species. Autoradiography localized [3H]-gossypol to the tegument, calcareous corpuscles, and parenchyma over the first 2 h of incubation. By 6 h, parenchymal radioactivity had disappeared.T. taeniaeformis metacestodes rapidly take up and accumulate [3H]-gossypol in vitro. This accumulation is apparently selective for specific sites, which may have implications for gossypol's metacestocidal action.

Notizen: Abstract The two-dimensional angular correlation of annihilation radiation (2D-ACAR) technique has been developed to measure the hole structure of stretched and oriented polymers. The determination of polymer hole structure is demonstrated in a stretched semi-crystalline polyaryl-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK) sample. The atomic scale anisotropy is found to be consistent with the macroscopic scale stretch ratio. Applications of the 2D-ACAR method to image the three-dimensional hole, free-volume, and cavity structures of molecular systems are discussed.
