Description: Isothermal compressive experiments on 55SiMnMo steel were carried out with the Gleeble 3500 hot-simulation machine. High temperature flow stress-strain curves were measured over the deformation temperature range of 950 to 1050 °C and a strain rate from 0.01 to 10 s -1 . Experimental results revealed that the peak stress decreases with increasing deformation temperature and decreasing strain rate. In addition, when the deformation temperature T ≥ 1000°C, and the strain rate ##IMG## [http://ej.iop.org/images/1757-899X/103/1/012002/mse15_103_012002_ieqn1.gif] ≤ 0.1 s -1 , the dynamic recrystallization of 55SiMnMo steel occurs. The stress and strain constitutive models and austenite recrystallization model were constructed to form the foundation for studying the forming process of drill rods.

Description: This paper discusses a new method for determining the iron content in Chinese fir leaves and roots using a SmartChem200 automatic chemical analyzer. With a pH value of 4-5, Fe 3 + was reduced to Fe 2 + by hydroxylamine hydrochloride, and Fe 2 + and 1,10-phenanthrolinemonohydrate generated an orange complex. The iron content was calculated based on the absorbance measured at a wavelength of 510 nm. The absorbance is directly proportional to the Fe 2 + content within a certain concentration range of Fe 2 +. The absorbance had a good linear relationship with the Fe 2 + content in the range of 0.01 mgL −1 to 5 mgL −1 ; the linear regression equation of the standard curve was Y=0.0632*X-0.00002, and the correlation coefficient was 1.0000. The method is convenient and rapid, and the experimental results were reliable.

Description: The novel recyclable and biodegradable absorbents NH 2 -Fe 2 O 3 and NH 2 -Fe 2 O 3 /oxidation-activated carbon (NH 2 -Fe 2 O 3 /OAC) with great physical properties and high adsorption for uptake heavy metal ions were synthesized in this work. The NH 2 -Fe 2 O 3 samples were prepared via one-pot hydrothermal methods, typically, FeCl 3 ·6H 2 O, ethylene glycol and sodium acetate anhydrous were directly dissolved under stirring, followed by x mL of DETA and 0.1 g of SDS at room temperature (x = 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 mL). The as-prepared NH 2 -Fe 2 O 3 were added into the mixture of oxidation-activated carbon, followed by the cation surfactant CTAB. After reflux condensation, the composites were washed, dried and labeled name NH 2 -Fe 2 O 3 /OAC. Systematically characterized by scanning electron micros...

Description: In this paper, we use the finite element software MSC·PATRAN and MSC·NASTRAN to establish the FEM model. Then we analyze the racking condition strength under the conditions of inclined shipping, and discuss the stress of the hull structure, the distribution of the hot spot and the deformation of the deflection under the flexible design concept. Some general conclusions under the design concept are obtained, which will be expected to contribute to the development of the design concept of the whole ship flexible structure.

Description: In this study, streamflow response in White Volta basin of West Africa was evaluated using ECHAM5 (MPEH5) GCM for two IPCC climate change scenarios (A1B and B1) and semi-distributed hydrologic model (SWAT) for three future time periods; 2020s, 2050s and 2080s using 1987-1996 as baseline. Both climate change scenarios project decrease in rainfall in 2020s but increases in 2050s and 2080s. Decrease in rainfall in 2020s was higher in B1 scenario compared to A1B; whereas for 2050s and 2080s, increases in rainfall were higher in A1B scenario than B1. Projected average changes indicate that overall the climate will be warmer and wetter in future. Projected annual streamflow volumes show disproportionate change (~220%) in response to slight changes in mean annual rainfall. Streamflow volume shows sharp changes for A1B scenario than B1 in 2020s whilst in 2050s and 2080s, the changes are moderate. Projected average annual streamflow changes are -3.1% in 2020s, 5.1% in 2050s and 13.3% in ...

Description: Generally speaking, the estimate of casualty, economic loss and damage of building or structures after earthquakes is modelled through the evaluating seismic influence field and the data which is administrative units for census and statistics. Thus, the evaluating results have good application in large scale, but are not accurate enough in the case of post-earthquake disaster assessments. The data based on kilometre grid can better embody the spatial heterogeneity of elements. And then it would improve the accuracy of the assessments. The paper introduces the design and implementation of earthquake emergency response system based on the kilometre grid data in Shanxi province of population, economy, and housing from several facets, such as system architecture, technology implementation, database design, functional modules and algorithms, system workflows and product details. Taking the 2010 M4.8 Hejin earthquake as an example, the evaluation is fast, precise, and spatial heteroge...

Description: With the resources crises and more serious pollution, the green building has been strongly advocated by most countries and become a new building style in the construction field. Compared with traditional building, the prefabricated building has its own irreplaceable advantages but is influenced by many uncertainties. So far, a majority of scholars have been studying based on qualitative researches from all of the word. This paper profoundly expounds its significance about the prefabricated building. On the premise of the existing research methods, combined with rough set theory, this paper redefines the factors which affect the prefabricated building risk. Moreover, it quantifies risk factors and establish an expert knowledge base through assessing. And then reduced risk factors about the redundant attributes and attribute values, finally form the simplest decision rule. This simplest decision rule, which is based on the DM technology of rough set theory, provides prefabricated ...

Description: The numerical analytical model has been developed to predict the thermal effect with respect to thin walled structures by micro-milling. In order to investigate the temperature distribution around micro-edge of cutter, it is necessary to considering the friction power, the shearing power, the shear area between the tool micro-edge and materials. Due to the micro-cutting area is more difficult to be measured accurately, the minimum chip thickness as one of critical factors is also introduced. Finite element-based simulation was employed by the Advantedge, which was determined from the machining of Ti-6Al-4V over a range of the uncut chip thicknesses. Results from the proposed model have been successfully accounted for the effects of thermal softening for material.

Description: The viscosity of high titanium slag at high temperature is one of the key factors of slag-iron separation. Based on the Einstein-Roscoe equation, thermodynamic simulation of viscosity of TiO 2 -Ti 2 O 3 -CaO ternary slag is studied by using FactSage ® software, and the effects of temperature, CaO content and solid-phase particles on the viscosity of slag were studied. The results show that the increase of CaO content has the effect of reducing melting temperature and viscosity of TiO 2 -Ti 2 O 3 -CaO ternary slag. After the TiO 2 -Ti 2 O 3 -CaO ternary slag is completely melted, the increase of temperature has little effect on viscosity of slag, and the viscosity is about 110~125mPa·s. When the temperature is lower than melting temperature, TiO 2 -Ti 2 O 3 -CaO ternary slag will precipitate solid-phase particles, and the precipitation process is carried out in st...

Description: The impact of very fast transient over-voltage(VFTO) on the primary and secondary equipment in gas insulated station(GIS) should not be ignored. In this paper, the research on fusing mechanism involving the fuses at secondary winding of PT induced by VFTO is carried out based on an actual case from the 500kV GIS substation belonged to Guizhou Tianshengqiao No.2 hydro power plant. As for the high voltage side, the transfer function about over-voltage can be formed in order to analyse the characteristics about high frequency over-voltage. As for the low voltage side, a three-phase equivalent model for secondary circuit of PT with the parallel arrangement at the A, B and C phases may be built for simulating the current distribution of the low voltage fuses in the situation of high frequency voltage and current. The results show that the maximum allowable current of fuse might be reduced greatly in the high-frequency circumstance due to skin effect and proximity effect, in compariso...
