Description: In this paper, we propose a finite-time sliding mode trajectory tracking control methodology for the vertical takeoff and landing unmanned aerial vehicle (VTOL UAV). Firstly, a system error model of trajectory tracking task is established based on Rodrigues parameters by considering both external and internal uncertainties. According to the cascade property, the system model is divided into translational and rotational subsystems, and a hierarchical control structure is hence proposed. Then, a finite-time generalized nonlinear disturbance observer (NDOB) is proposed, based on which the finite-time convergence result of equivalent disturbance estimation can be acquired. Finally, by introducing a tan-type compensator into the traditional terminal sliding mode control (SMC), the finite-time convergence result of the closed-loop control system is acquired based on Lyapunov stability analysis. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

Description: Electric arc furnace (EAF) causes the harmonics to impact on the supply network greatly and harmonic elimination is a very important research work for the power quality associated with EAF. In the paper, a fundamental wave amplitude prediction algorithm based on fuzzy neural network for harmonic elimination of EAF current is proposed. The proposed algorithm uses the learning ability of the neural network to refine Takagi-Sugeno type fuzzy rules and the inputs are the average of the current measured value in different time intervals. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, some experiments are performed to compare the proposed algorithm with the back-propagation neural networks, and the field data collected at an EAF are used in the experiments. Moreover, the measured amplitudes of fundamental waves of field data are obtained by the sliding-window-based discrete Fourier transform on the field data. The experiments results show that the proposed algorithm has higher precision. The real curves also verify that the amplitude of fundamental wave current could be predicted accurately and the harmonic elimination of EAF would be realized based on the proposed algorithm.

Description: Several broadcast algorithms have been developed in recent years. However, the problem of reducing routing overhead in ad hoc networks is always to be concerned. This paper proposes an improved directional broadcast algorithm based on Brownian motion for AODV protocol (DBB-AODV). We bring Brownian motion into network model and gain the distribution of the nodes which encountered destination before. This algorithm uses encounter records to predict the direction to destination and forwards RREQ packets with reasonable probability according to the distribution just mentioned. Simulation results indicate that DBB-AODV saves up to 20% of average routing overhead compared to the probabilistic protocol and about 80% of the blind flooding.

Description: A method, quantitative analysis of multicomponents by single marker (QAMS), was established and fully verified based on high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for simultaneous determination of six chromone indicators of Saposhnikoviae Radix (SR). In the present study, cimifugin (C), 5-O-methylvisamminol (V), hamaudol (H), and their corresponding glycosides, prim-O-glucosylcimifugin (GC), 4′-O-β-D-glucosyl-5-O-methylvisamminol (GV), and sec-O-glucosylhamaudol (GH), were selected as bioactive constituents and indicators for the quality evaluation of SR. GV was chosen as the unique reference standard, and relative correction factors (RCF) between GV and the other five chromones were calculated. The feasibility of QAMS for the analysis of chromones was investigated by comparing with the traditional external standard method (ESM). Furthermore, the method was proven to have accuracy (96.98%–102.50%), repeatability (RSD

Description: The sliming problem of chamber soil is caused by excessive groundwater seeping into the pressure chamber when an Earth pressure balance shield tunnels through a water-rich weathered rock stratum under semiopen under-pressure mode. As a solution to this problem, a calculation model was established based on field measurements of the discharged soil properties, the seepage water volume, and the seepage path in Jinan Metro, China. Chamber soil sliming is a phenomenon in which chamber soil is in a thin mud state, with no pressure balance in the pressure chamber of the EPB shield and an excessive water content of the chamber soil owing to the continuous seepage of groundwater into the chamber. The chamber pressure is relatively low, which is different from the phenomenon of spewing when the chamber pressure is relatively high. A large amount of water seepage from the stratum around the tunnel excavation surface and shield to the chamber is a significant factor leading to chamber soil sliming during the construction process. It was considered that when the moisture content of the chamber soil, w, is 2wL ≤ w ≤ 3wL, slight chamber soil sliming may occur, whereas when w ≥ 3wL, serious chamber soil sliming may occur. Moreover, some measures to prevent and control the occurrence of chamber soil sliming were discussed. Controlling the advancing time and the permeability coefficient of chamber soil during construction is the most effective measure to avoid the phenomenon of soil sliming.

Description: When a car is running at high speed, the canyon wind at the bridge-tunnel junction in the mountainous area brings along the acceleration effect. The aerodynamic lateral force will cause the vehicle sideslip and unsteady steering, which is extremely harmful to driving safety. In this paper, Xi-Han Expressway is taken as the research object to analyze the influencing factors of vehicle’s lateral stability by combining the theoretical research of the finite element method, automobile aerodynamics, and speed limit with field investigation and simulation test. CarSim software is used for simulation to explore the influence of different positions of the circular curve on vehicle lateral stability. The results show that the wind level affects the tunnel exit’s unfavorable section on the circular curve. The larger the wind level, the larger the proportion of the tunnel exit’s unfavorable section on the circular curve. The proportions of tunnel exit’s unfavorable section on the circular curve under 6–9 wind levels are 33.33%, 38.89%, 55.56%, and 66.67%, respectively. In addition, the lateral stability of vehicles under level 6–8 wind scale is the worst when the tunnel exit is located at 5° position on the circular curve. The results indicate the influence of strong wind on the lateral stability of vehicles in mountainous expressway. The research can optimize the design of the highway tunnel group and provide the basic theory and method basis for the quantitative management and scientific management of the road traffic management department.

Description: Robust disturbance rejection control methodology is proposed for Euler-Lagrange systems, and parameters optimization strategy for the observer is explored. First, the observer based disturbance rejection methodology is analyzed, based on which the disturbance rejection paradigm is proposed. Thus, a disturbance observer (DOB) with partial feedback linearization and a low-pass filter is proposed for nonlinear dynamic model under relaxed restrictions of the generalized disturbance. Then, the outer-loop backstepping controller is designed for desired tracking performance. Considering that the parameters of DOB cannot be obtained directly based on Lyapunov stability analysis, parameter of DOB is optimized under standardH∞control framework. By analyzing the influence of outer-loop controller on the inner-loop observer parameter, robust stability constraint is proposed to guarantee the robust stability of the closed-loop system. Experiment on attitude tracking of an aircraft is carried out to show the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Description: It is difficult to effectively identify and eliminate the multiple correlation influence among the independent factors by least-squares regression. Focusing on this insufficiency, the sediment deposition risk of cascade reservoirs and fitting model of sediment flux into the reservoir are studied. The partial least-squares regression (PLSR) method is adopted for modeling analysis; the model fitting is organically combined with the non-model-style data content analysis, so as to realize the regression model, data structure simplification, and multiple correlations analysis among factors; meanwhile the accuracy of the model is ensured through cross validity check. The modeling analysis of sediment flux into the cascade reservoirs of Long-Liu section upstream of the Yellow River indicates that partial least-squares regression can effectively overcome the multiple correlation influence among factors, and the isolated factor variables have better ability to explain the physical cause of measured results.

Description: It takes two design goals as different game players and design variables are divided into strategy spaces owned by corresponding game player by calculating the impact factor and fuzzy clustering. By the analysis of behavior characteristics of two kinds of intelligent pigs, the big pig's behavior is cooperative and collective, but the small pig's behavior is noncooperative, which are endowed with corresponding game player. Two game players establish the mapping relationship between game players payoff functions and objective functions. In their own strategy space, each game player takes their payoff function as monoobjective for optimization. It gives the best strategy upon other players. All the best strategies are combined to be a game strategy set. With convergence and multiround game, the final game solution is obtained. Taking bi-objective optimization of luffing mechanism of compensative shave block, for example, the results show that the method can effectively solve bi-objective optimization problems with preferred target and the efficiency and accuracy are also well.
