    Description: Distributed coordination of fractional multiagent systems with external disturbances is studied. The state observer of fractional dynamical system is presented, and an adaptive pinning controller is designed for a little part of agents in multiagent systems without disturbances. This adaptive pinning controller with the state observer can ensure multiple agents' states reaching an expected reference tracking. Based on disturbance observers, the controllers are composited with the pinning controller and the state observer. By applying the stability theory of fractional order dynamical systems, the distributed coordination of fractional multiagent systems with external disturbances can be reached asymptotically.

    Description: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a health disorder characterized by metabolic abnormalities that predict an increased risk to develop cardiovascular disease (CVD) and type 2 diabetes. Biomarkers can provide an insight into the novel mechanism for MetS and can be potentially used for personalized response to therapies. We exploited a targeted HPLC-MS/MS method to characterize plasma amino acids and carnitine metabolic profile in MetS patients. A training set (40 cases and 40 controls) and validation set (80 MetS patients and 80 healthy controls) were carried out to find the metabolic profiles. We discovered two carnitine metabolites including hydroxydecanoyl carnitine and methylglutarylcarnitine. Our results indicated that the decreased level of hydroxydecanoyl carnitine and methylglutarylcarnitine may be associated with the risk of MetS. These biomarkers may improve the risk prediction and provide a novel tool for monitoring of the progression of disease and response to treatment in MetS patients.

    Description: The consensus of the multiagent system with directed topology and a leader is investigated, in which the leader is dynamic. Based on Laplace transform method, the accurate upper error bound between the leader and the followers can be obtained. It is also proved that all agents of the system will aggregate and eventually form a cohesive cluster following the leader if the leader is globally reachable. Finally, some simulation examples are given to illustrate the theoretical results.

    Description: Precipitable water vapor (PWV) content detection is vital to heavy rain prediction; up to now, lots of different measuring methods and devices are developed to observe PWV. In general, these methods can be divided into two categories, ground-based or space-based. In this study, we analyze the advantages and disadvantages of these technologies, compare retrieved atmosphere parameters by different RO (radio occultation) observations, like FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC (Formosa Satellite-3 and Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate) and FY3C (China Feng Yun 3C), and assess retrieved PWV precision with a radiosonde. Besides, we interpolate PWV from NWP (numerical weather prediction) reanalysis data for more comparison and analysis with RO. Specifically, ground-based GNSS is of high precision and continuous availability to monitor PWV distribution; in our paper, we show cases to validate and compare GNSS retrieving PWV with a radiosonde. Except GNSS PWV, we give two different radio occultation sounding results, COSMIC and FY3C, to validate the precision to monitor PWV from space in a global area. FY3C results containing Beidou (China Beidou Global Satellite Navigation System) radio occultation events need to be emphasized. So, in our study, we get the retrieved atmospheric profiles from GPS and Beidou radio occultation observations and derive atmosphere PWV by a variational retrieval method based on these data over a global area. Besides, other space-based methods, such as microwave satellite, are also useful in detecting PWV distribution situations in a global area from space; in this study, we present a case of retrieved PWV using microwave satellite observation. NWP reanalysis data ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) ERA-Interim and the new-generation reanalysis data ERA5 provide global grid atmosphere parameters, like surface temperature, different-level pressures, and precipitable water. We show cases of retrieved PWV and validate the precision with radiosonde results and compare new reanalysis dataset ERA5 with ERA-Interim, finding that ERA5 can get higher precision-retrieved atmosphere parameters and PWV. In the end, from our comparison, we find that the retrieved PWV from RO (FY3C and COSMIC) and ECMWF reanalysis data (ERA-Interim and ERA5) have a high positive correlation and that almost all R2 values exceed 0.9, compare retrieved PWV with a radiosonde, and find that whether it is RO and ECMWF reanalysis data, ground-based GNSS, or microwave satellite, they all show small biases.

    Description: This paper investigates the optimal road toll design problem from the perspective of sustainable development at network-wide level. In this paper the sustainable development level of transportation system is quantitatively described with the total vehicular emission, total fuel consumption, and total travel time in the network. In order to simultaneously consider the impacts of all these three indicators on sustainability of transportation system, we integrate them into a sustainable development index (SD-index) by a linear combination, and then we establish the corresponding bilevel optimization model. The upper level problem is the network toll design problem to maximize the SD-index from the viewpoint of traffic managers, and the lower level problem is to depict travelers’ route choice behavior under a certain road toll scheme. Finally, a combined genetic algorithm and gradient projection algorithm (GA-GP) is used to solve the bilevel model, in which the GP algorithm solves the traffic assignment problem with road toll scheme in the lower level. In order to verify the proposed model and algorithm, we take the Nguyen-Dupuis network for the numerical example, and the computing results show that the model and algorithm are effective and efficient.

    Description: In order to study the coupled influence of deck pavement roughness and velocity on dynamic amplification factor, a 2-DOF 1/4 vehicle model is employed to establish the vehicle-bridge-coupled vibration system. The random dynamic load of running vehicle simulated by software MATLAB is applied on bridge deck pavement (BDP) through ANSYS software. Besides, the influence of BDP parameters on control stress under static load and random vibration load is analyzed. The results show that if the surface of BDP is smooth, the dynamic magnification coefficient would first increase and then decrease with increasing of vehicle velocity and reach its maximum value when v = 20 m/s; if the surface of BDP is rough, the maximal and minimum values of the dynamic amplification coefficient (DAC) occur, respectively, when the velocity reaches 10 m/s and 15 m/s. For a composite bridge deck with the cushion layer, the thickness of asphalt pavement should be not too thick or thin and better to be controlled for about 10 cm; with the increasing of cushion layer thickness, the control stress of deck pavement is all decreased and show similar change regularity under effect of different loads. In view of self-weight of structure, the thickness of the cushion layer is recommended to be controlled for about 4 cm.

    Description: The study of fluid-heat coupling in deep fractured surrounding rock is the basis of design, safety, and extraction of geothermal energy of deep underground spaces. The heat transfer and fractured media seepage theories were employed to establish a three-dimensional unsteady model for fluid-heat coupling heat transfer in fractured surrounding rock. Using COMSOL multiphysics simulation software, the temperature field of the fractured surrounding rock was determined. Furthermore, the influences of ventilation time, Darcy’s velocity, fracture aperture, and thermal conductivity coefficient of the surrounding rock on the fractured surrounding rock temperature field distribution were investigated. The results of the numerical simulation show that the ventilation time and fracture have a major impact on the temperature field distribution of the fractured surrounding rock. As ventilation time is 200 days, an average water temperature in centerline of the fracture decreases 9.4 K as Darcy’s velocity increased from 3e-4m/s to 2e-3m/s. As ventilation time is 200 days, an average water temperature in centerline of the fracture decreases 5.3 K as fracture aperture increased from 3 mm to 9 mm. A set of experimental devices for fluid-heat coupling heat transfer in surrounding rock with a single fracture was designed and built to validate the numerical simulation results. Numerical simulation results are, in general, in agreement with the experimental results.

    Description: Background. To describe the clinical characteristics of the patients who suffered from relapse after conventional irradiation for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).Methods. Three hundred and fifty-one consecutive patients with first-time recurrent NPC between January 1999 and July 2005 were included. The patients’ clinical data were reviewed, including recurrent interval time, symptoms, signs, imaging characteristics, pathologic features, and restaging.Results. The median interval of relapse was 26.0 months. The most common symptoms in symptomatic patients were nasal bloody discharge (37.9%) and headache (31.1%). Local recurrence alone accounted for 73.5%. Most patients were restaged as stage III (23.1%) and stage IV (51.1%). Subgroup analysis suggested a significantly higher proportion of the long-latent relapses originated from early primary. A series of postreirradiation complications were more frequent in patients with longer latency at reception.Conclusions. Most recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma is advanced disease. Patients with different recurrent interval time show different nature behavior.

    Description: With the development of society, the economy, and national security, the exploitation of deep underground space has become an inevitable trend in human society. However, high-temperature-related problems occur in deep underground spaces. The high temperature of deep underground space is essentially influenced by the thermal characteristics of the surrounding rock. According to the mathematical model of heat transfer of the surrounding rock in deep underground space, similar criteria numbers are established. Experiments were carried out to investigate the thermal characteristics of the surrounding rock. The distribution characteristics of temperature were determined by the Fourier number (Fo) and Biot number (Bi), and the effects of heat transfer time, airflow velocities, and air temperature and radial displacement on the distribution characteristics of temperature were studied. The results indicate that the surrounding rock temperature decreases with long heat transfer times, high airflow velocities, and low air temperatures.

    Description: Although multiobjective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) has good performance in solving multiobjective optimization problems, how to obtain more accurate solutions as well as improve the distribution of the solutions set is still a challenge. In this paper, to improve the convergence performance of MOPSO, an improved multiobjective quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization based on double search strategy and circular transposon mechanism (MOQPSO-DSCT) is proposed. On one hand, to solve the problem of the dramatic diversity reduction of the solutions set in later iterations due to the single search pattern used in quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization (QPSO), the double search strategy is proposed in MOQPSO-DSCT. The particles mainly learn from their personal best position in earlier iterations and then the particles mainly learn from the global best position in later iterations to balance the exploration and exploitation ability of the swarm. Moreover, to alleviate the problem of the swarm converging to local minima during the local search, an improved attractor construction mechanism based on opposition-based learning is introduced to further search a better position locally as a new attractor for each particle. On the other hand, to improve the accuracy of the solutions set, the circular transposon mechanism is introduced into the external archive to improve the communication ability of the particles, which could guide the population toward the true Pareto front (PF). The proposed algorithm could generate a set of more accurate and well-distributed solutions compared to the traditional MOPSO. Finally, the experiments on a set of benchmark test functions have verified that the proposed algorithm has better convergence performance than some state-of-the-art multiobjective optimization algorithms.
