    Notes: Die mechanischen Eigenschaften der Kohlenstoff-Fasern hängen weniger vom eingesetzten Polymermaterial als von den Herstellungsbedingungen ab. Diese bestimmen weitgehend den strukturellen Aufbau des Kohlenstoff-Gerüstes in der Kohlenstoff-Faser. Dem thermischen Abbau von Polyacrylnitril kommt als bevorzugtem Roh material große Bedeutung zu. Die vielfältigen Einflüsse der Prozeßführung auf die Faserqualität kommen in den verschiedenen möglichen Verfahrenswegen zum Ausdruck.

    Notes: Die wichtigsten Verfahrensparameter bei der Herstellung von Kohlenstoff-Fasern aus Polyacrylnitril-Fasern sind Aufheizcharakteristik und Streckbehandlung. Der Einfluß dieser Parameter auf die mechanischen Eigenschaften der Zwischenprodukte und der fertigen Kohlenstoff-Faser wird untersucht. Für die Durchführung der einzelnen Verfahrensschritte, nämlich oxidative Vernetzung, Pyrolyse und „Graphitierung“, wurden Apparaturen für kontinuierliche Arbeitsweise entwickelt. Es hat sich gezeigt, daß die Aufheizcharakteristik besondere Bedeutung im Vernetzungsprozeß hat. Eine Zugbeanspruchung bewirkt bei geeigneter Prozeßführung in allen Verfahrens-schritten eine Erhöhung von E-Modul und Zugfestigkeit der Zwischen- bzw. Endprodukte.
