The wave-breaking time of electronic plasma waves in an unmagnetized, cold plasma with a parabolic density profile is obtained analytically. The results are similar to those obtained in a linear density profile except at the top of the parabolic density profile where the wave-breaking time is shown to be proportional to E−1d instead of E−1/2d, Ed being the driving field.
