Summary The rare earths can be separated from other elements by means of the slightly soluble complexes which the former yield with pyrocatechin and ethylenediamine, piperidine, pyridine or quinoline. With ammonia, the complexes are produced only when the solution is boiled.
Abstract:
Résumé Les terres rares donnent avec le pyrocatéchol et l'éthylène diamine, la pipéridine, la pyridine, la quinoléine des complexes difficilement solubles qui permettent une séparation des autres éléments. Avec l'ammoniaque, les complexes ne se forment que par chauffage de la solution.

Zusammenfassung Die Seltenen Erden geben mit Brenzcatechin und äthylendiamin, Piperidin, Pyridin oder Chinolin schwerlösliche Komplexe, die eine Trennung von anderen Elementen gestatten. Mit Ammoniak bilden sich die Komplexe erst beim Kochen der Lösung.
