One new combination is made, and there is a note on the correct author citation for Rollinia dolabripetala. Mr. E. J. van Marle, a former student at the University of Utrecht, contributed the description of one of the new species.

    Description: This paper follows upon an earlier paper in the series “Studies in Annonaceae” (Maas et al. 1986). Twelve new species are described, viz. 2 in Duguetia, 1 in Ephedranthus, 5 in Guatteria, 2 in Hornschuchia, 1 in Tetrameranthus, and 1 in Unonopsis. A new combination is made in Enicosanthellum. Some amendments and additions to the revision of Tetrameranthus (Westra 1985), including an updated key, are given. Monocarpia euneura Miq. appears to have priority over M. marginalis (R. Scheffer) James Sincl. Additional collections have been made of the rare species Bocagea longepedunculata Martius, Xylopia crinita R.E. Fries, and Xylopia excellens R.E. Fries. Attention is drawn to several recent collections from Bahia, Brazil, which are perhaps referable to Unonopsis stipitata Diels. H. León, Popayán, and D. Sánchez S., Medellín, contributed to three of the new species.

    Description: In this paper six new Neotropical species in four genera are described, viz. Annona oxapampae, Duguetia vaupesana, Guatteria castilloi, G. pachyphylla, G. sanctae-crucis and Pseudoxandra xylopiifolia.     Description: Several species in neotropical genera are described, viz. 1 in Bocageopsis, 2 in Cremastosperma, 1 in Hornschuchia, 1 in Oxandra, 4 in Pseudoxandra, and 2 in Unonopsis. Cremastosperma anomalum R.E. Fries is transferred to Malmea. Cremastosperma pacificum R.E. Fries is recorded for Panama for the first time. Xylopia ulei Diels, X. neglecta (O. Kuntze) R.E. Fries, and X. intermedia R.E. Fries are brought into synonymy with X. benthamii R.E. Fries, X. parviflora Spruce, and X. sericea A. St.Hil. respectively. The African Xylopia parviflora (A. Rich.) Benth., non Spruce, now has to bear the name X. longipetala De Wild, et T. Durand.

    Description: This paper deals with a group of species of the Neotropical genus Guatteria (Annonaceae) which are characterized by leaves with tiny warts (verruculae) on both surfaces and by elongate and short-stipitate monocarps (i.e., the length of the monocarp body surpassing the length of the stipe). These species were placed by Fries in Guatteria sect. Mecocarpus (Fries 1939) (the name derives from Ancient Greek μηκων = Poppy and καρπος = fruit: fruit resembling that of Papaver species). All occur in South America, none having been found elsewhere so far. Although there is much doubt nowadays about the taxonomic significance of Fries’s sections, we maintain sect. Mecocarpus at present for convenience’s sake. Additionally, the former genus Guatteriopsis, united with Guatteria a short time ago (Erkens & Maas 2008b), is now also included in sect. Mecocarpus. The same applies to one of the two species attributed to Guatteriella (also merged with Guatteria by Erkens & Maas 2008b), namely Guatteriella tomentosa R.E.Fr. (not Guatteria tomentosa Rusby) which is put into synonymy with Guatteria trichocarpa Erkens & Maas. One new species is described, namely Guatteria griseifolia Maas & Westra. The two species complexes of G. guianensis and G. decurrens are now treated each as a single polymorphic species. The present study falls within the framework of a planned monograph of the whole genus Guatteria.

    Description: After completion of the monograph of Anaxagorea, a number of new collections were studied and annotated. Among this material there appeared to be a new species from Venezuela, at the same time the first true rheophyte in Annonaceae. The rare and hitherto incompletely known A. silvatica has now turned up from the state of Espirito Santo, Brazil. The flower of this species is described for the first time. New records are mentioned insofar as they add to previously existing information.

    Description: The small genus Tetrameranthus R.E. Fries, occurring in the Amazon region, is revised. Two new species are described, in addition to the three already known. Available data still indicate that this genus belongs in Annonaceae, but takes up an isolated position within that family.
