Abstract The structure and absolute configuration of brianthein X, C24O9H31Cl, was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Space groupP61,a=10.539(1),c=36.397(6) Å. The structure was solved from 2455 diffractometer data taken at −135°C, and refined to anR value of 0.037. The structure and stereochemistry is compared with similar compounds fromBriareum species.
