Abstract The critical parameters at which an isomagnetic compression shock occurs are determined using a regular method based on an analysis of the type of singular points of the equations for the structure of standing shock waves propagating at an arbitrary angle to the undisturbed magnetic field in a plasma with finite conductivity and thermal conductivity.
