Abstract: This edited book collates latest findings in the field of agro-biodiversity and agri-ecosystem management across the globe through selected case studies. The primary aim of the book is to cover agro-biodiversity and agri-ecosystem advancements in the field of agricultural resource management. The book explores a range of technologies that support sustainable use of resources and facilities, such as Natural Resource Management (NRM), Resource Conservation Technologies (RCTs), Integrated Farming System (IFS), Integrated Crop Management (ICM), Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), use of solar energy, promotion of agro-ecological zone specific agricultural production, application of climate resilient technologies, secondary agricultural practices and post-harvest technologies. Agro-biodiversity and agri-ecosystem not only contributes to overall growth of the economy but also reduces poverty by providing employment and food security to the majority of the population in the continent and thus it is the most inclusive growth sectors of the economy of Asian and African countries. The book is relevant for researchers and policy makes in the field of agriculture, food system research, ecology, agricultural diversification, resource management etc.

Notes: Abstract New design data for an open suspended microstripline is reported. Two most commonly used substrate materials, namely RT-Duroid (ɛr=2.22) and fused quartz (ɛr=3.78) are considered. Effects of dispersion and strip thickness are included in the results which are based on a fullwave spectral-domain analysis. The data, which is computed over the complete practical ranges of frequency and parameter values, is much more reliable than the currently available quasistatic results.

Notes: Abstract Effects of manufacturing tolerances in the dimensions and parameters of suspended and inverted microstrip lines on the electrical performance of these lines have been studied through sensitivity analysis. The closed-form expressions recently given by Pramanick and Bhartia for the analysis of these lines have been used to derive the mathematical expressions for various sensitivities and the dependence of sensitivities on the aspect ratios and on the substrate dielectric constant has been depicted graphically. Generally speaking, the effects of tolerances are seen to be reflected much more sharply in the sensitivities of the characteristic impedance than in those of the effective dielectric constant. Many other useful inferences are also drawn from the sensitivity graphs. The conclusions are presented in tabular form, so as to be of direct help to the user.

Notes: Abstract Accurate dispersion data for open suspended microstrop on RT-duroid and fused quartz substrates was presented in an earlier paper by the authors. The present work repeats the same exercise for two more commonly used substrate materials, namely, Alumina and Gallium Arsenide. The results are new and will be a very useful addition to the millimeter-wave circuit designer's library.

Notes: Abstract Prosopis cineraria is an important species for aridzone agroforestry in India. Information on the chemical composition and nutritive value of the leaves of young trees that will be useful in screening the provenances, is lacking. Chemical composition (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na), crude protein, and structural carbohydrates (neutral detergent fibre, acid detergent fibre, cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin) of the foliage of one-year-old plants of 31 provenances ofProsopis cineraria were determined. The seeds were collected from 16°50′ N to 29°55′ N latitude and 69°49′ E to 78°03′ E longitude in India, and grown at Hisar (29°10′ N latitude, 75°46′ E longitude and 215 m altitude). Mineral contents (except N and P), crude protein, and structural carbohydrates varied significantly (p〈0.05) between provenances, and the greatest amount of N, P, crude protein, NDF, ADF and lignin contents were found in Hisar provenance. The in vitro dry matter digestibility varied from 18.2% in Gandhinagar provenance to 34.0% in that of Barmer provenance.

Notes: Abstract Accurate dispersion data for open inverted microstrip is presented. Two most commonly used substrate materials, namely, RT-duroid (dielectric constant 2.22) and fused quartz (dielectric constant 3.78) are considered. The work is a continuation of the earlier reported data on a similar structure, called suspended microstrip, and will be an useful addition to the millimeter-wave designer's library.
