Summary Cheilospirura gymnorhinis n.sp. is described from the western magpie Gymnorhina tibicen dorsalis from Perth, Western Australia. The size, and ratio of length, of the spicules of the male (spicule ratio R:L of 1:4.6) and the short cordons in both sexes (ratio of cordon length to body length of about 1:11.5) differentiate it from other members of the genus. It is the second Cheilospirura to be described that is located in the mouth and pharynx of the host.
