Description: Eoferreola rhombica, a pompilid new to the Dutch fauna, and its remarkable host, Eresus sandaliatus (Hymenoptera: Pompilidae; Araneae: Eresidae) In 1998 a female specimen of Eoferreola rhombica (Christ, 1791) was collected in a road-verge on the Veluwe. The nearest populations of this species are found in northern France and eastern Germany. It is possible that this insect was transported by traffic from one of these populations. However at the collection site a large population of the rare host spider Eresus sandaliatus (Martini & Goeze, 1778) is known to be present for many years. Therefore the presence of a population of E. rhombica cannot be excluded. Future observations have to reveal the status of this spider wasp in the Netherlands.

Description: Until recently Boreus hyemalis was considered to be a rare species in The Netherlands. It was only known from a few localities in The Netherlands in the provinces of Noord-Holland, Zuid- Holland, Utrecht, Gelderland and Drenthe. The last few years many new populations have been discovered. In this paper the first records for the provinces of Limburg, Noord-Brabant and Overijssel are presented. The species seems to prefer scarcely vegetated patches in sanddunes, dominated by greyhair grass Corynephorus canescens and the moss Polytrichum piliferum. It proved to be relatively easy to find, when the right places were searched in the right period (October until February).

Description: Some interesting records on Dutch bees (Hymenoptera: Apidae) \nThe publication of the preliminary atlas of Dutch bees (Peeters et al. 1999) has stimulated many specialists in their mapping activity. The author reports several interesting new distribution records on ten bee-species in 1999. The Dutch Colletus halophilus Verhoeff, 1943 were thought to be specialized on Aster, but on the island Rottumeroog some, relatively large, females were observed collecting pollen on Sonchus arvensis var. maritimus.

Description: Megachile pilidens new for the Netherlands (Hymenoptera: Apoidea: Megachilidae)\nMegachile pilidens Alfken 1924 is reported for the first time from the Netherlands. We also\nmention some new records in adjacent parts in Germany and Belgium. In Europe M. pilidens\nhas a south-eastern distribution but recently expands to the north. Its occurrence seems to be\nassociated with rocky or stony habitats. The Dutch records in 2005 and 2006 are four females\nand one male from different sites, all collected in the vicinity of (limestone) quarries in the\nsouthernmost part of the province of Limburg. The recent expansion is discussed and some\ndata are presented on host plants and differences with the sibling species M. leachella.
