Conclusions By an investigation of the structural and molecular heterogeneity of industrial SCA specimens prepared in various media, it has been shown that acetylation in acetic acid medium leads to obtaining an SCA with a more heterogeneous capillary—porous structure and more heterogeneous molccular characteristics as compared with SCA specimens prepared in methylene chloride medium. It is suggested to use the methods of turbidity spectrum and turbidimetric titration for rapid evaluation of the parameters of microgel particles, and to evaluate the weight proportion of low-molecular-weight fractions with a degree of polymerization up to 100, plus the coefficient of polydispersity to evaluate structural and molecular heterogeneity together with the method of hexane-vapor sorption.
