    Description / Table of Contents: Die Polymerisation von Methylmethacrylat wurde in wäßrigem Medium mit Natriumhydrogensulfit als Initiator bei 40°C in Gegenwart und in Abwesenheit von Soda-Kalk-Glas (SLG) durchgeführt. Die Polymerisationsgeschwindigkeit nahm mit steigender Konzentration an SLG zu bis zu 26,6 Gew.-% des Monomeren. Zur Herstellung von Glas-Polymer-Produkten wurde ein höheres Glas-Monomer-Verhältnis eingesetzt. Der Einfluß der SLG-Partikelgröße auf die Polymerisationsgeschwindigkeit wurde untersucht. Eine Interpretation des Polymerisationsmechanismus wird gegeben.
    Notes: The polymerization of methyl methacrylate in aqueous medium using sodium bisulfite as initiator was carried out at 40°C in absence and in presence of soda lime glass. The rate of polymerization was found to increase largely with increasing concentration of soda lime glass up to 26.6 wt.-% of the monomer. A higher glass-monomer ratio was used to obtain glass-polymer-composites. The effect of the particle size of soda lime glass on the rate of polymerization was studied. An interpretation for the mechanism of the polymerization process is given.
