Conclusions 1. The investigations showed that there is a close relation between the permeability coefficient and the density of the diaphragm material, which permits reliable control of antifiltration curtains by the radioisotope method. 2. When I varies, compaction of the soils does not occur, for all practical purposes, for a void ratio of the material e≤1 and Ii〈1.5. By ensuring this value of the void ratio of the antifiltration diaphragm material, it is possible to obtain a stable value of the permeability coefficient, which does not depend on the hydraulic gradient.
