Notes: Abstract A set of axioms which fix Euclidean renormalizations up to a finite renormalization is proposed. There exists a one to one correspondence between Euclidean renormalizations and renormalizations in Minkowski space-time satisfying Hepp's axioms. No restrictions on masses are imposed.

Notes: We provide a rigorous canonical quantization for the following toral automorphisms: cat maps, generalized kicked maps, and generalized Harper maps. For each of these systems we construct a unitary propagator and prove the existence of a well-defined classical limit. We also provide an alternative derivation of Hannay and Berry results for the cat map propagator on the plane. © 1998 American Institute of Physics.

Notes: We continue our study of quantum Riemann surfaces initiated in Refs. [S. Klimek and A. Lesniewski, Commun. Math. Phys. 146, 103–122 (1992); Lett. Math. Phys. 24, 125–139 (1992); 32, 45–61 (1994)]. We construct a one parameter family of deformations of compact Riemann surfaces of genus g≥2. Our construction does not require any discreteness condition on the value of Planck's constant. It coincides with the construction of Ref. [Lett. Math. Phys. 24, 125–139 (1992)] in the case when Planck's constant assumes the discrete set of values dictated by geometric quantization. © 1996 American Institute of Physics.

Notes: A construction of the Hermitian symmetric superspaces which are the supermanifold analogs of the Cartan domains of type IV is presented herein. Natural generalizations of the Jordan triple product and Bergman operator for the superdomains are defined, and their properties are studied.

Notes: The tensor products of the irreducible representations of the algebra of continuous functions on the quantum group SUq(2) were studied. Using the methods of q-calculus it was proven that the tensor product of two infinite dimensional irreducible representations may be decomposed into a direct integral of irreducible representations.

Notes: Abstract We discuss some consequences of the existence of a heat kernel regularization (HKR) for quantum fields. We demonstrate that HKR applies in certain examples, using methods which should be useful more generally.

Notes: Abstract We investigate the stability of the super-KMS property under deformations. We show that a family of continuous deformations of the super-derivation in the quantum algebra yields a continuous family of deformed super-KMS functionals. These functionals define a family of cohomologous, entire cocycles.

Notes: Abstract We use methods of constructive field theory to generalize index theory to an infinite-dimensional setting. We study a family of Dirac operatorsQ on loop space. These operators arise in the context of supersymmetric nonlinear quantum field models with HamiltoniansH=Q 2. In these modelsQ is self-adjoint and Fredholm. A natural grading operator Γ exists such that ΓQ+QΓ=0. We studyQ +=P − QP +, whereP ±=1/2 (1±Γ) are the orthogonal projections onto the eigenspaces of Γ. We calculate the indexi(Q +) for Wess-Zumino models defined by a superpotentialV(ω). HereV is a polynomial of degreen≧2. We establish thati(Q +)=n−1=degδV. In particular, the field theory models have unbroken supersymmetry, and (forn≧3) they have degenerate vacua. We believe that this is the first index theorem for a Dirac operator that couples infinitely many degrees of freedom.

Notes: Abstract We construct a family of supersymmetric, two-dimensional quantum field models. We establish the existence of the HamiltonianH and the superchargeQ as self-adjoint operators. We establish the ultraviolet finiteness of the model, independent of perturbation theory. We develop functional integral representations of the heat kernel which are useful for proving estimates in these models. In a companion paper [1] we establish an index theorem forQ, an infinite dimensional Dirac operator on loop space. This paper and, another related one [2], provide the technical justification for our claim thatQ is Fredholm, and for our computation of its index by a homotopy onto quantum mechanics.

Notes: Abstract We investigate the Kähler structure arising inn-component,N=2 supersymmetric quantum mechanics. We defineL 2-cohomology groups of a modified $$\bar \partial $$ and relate them to the corresponding spaces of harmonic forms. We prove that the cohomology is concentrated in the middle dimension, and is isomorphic to the direct sum of the local rings of the singularities of the superpotential. In the physics language, this means that the number of ground states is equal to the absolute value of the index of the supercharge, and each ground state contains exactlyn fermions.
