Conclusions 1. Experimental data, obtained from acceleration tests of turbine disks and plane specimens with different material plasticities have been used to generate quantitive relations for the effect of temperature drop and material plasticity of the disk on the limiting load-bearing capacity of the nonuniformly heated disk. 2. It has been shown that, for a disk with plasticity greater than δ=14%, however large the temperature drop is, there is practically no effect on the limiting load-bearing capacity of a rotating disk.
