Conclusions 1. A study was made of the acid hydrolysis of tetrahydrocytisine and its N-derivatives and a mechanism of the reaction was proposed. 2. Substitution in the N-derivatives of tetrahydrocytisine takes place in the equatorial direction, as a consequence of which the size of the N-substituent fails to affect the reactivity of the〉C-O bond.
