    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis of (η6-arene)2Cr2(CO)3 Complexes Containing a Formal Cr ≡ Cr Triple Bond Starting from η6-areneCr(CO)2NCCH3The photochemical reaction of η6-ArCr(CO)3 (Ar = benzene, toluene, m-xylene, mesitylene, methyl benzoate, and fluorobenzene) with acetonitrile in hexane or p-tolunitrile in THF, resp., yields complexes η6-ArCr(CO)2NCR (1 - 10). Solutions of the red acetonitrile complexes yield on warming or UV photolysis by dissoziation of the nitrile and one CO ligand in the presence of benzene the new black coordination compounds (η6-Ar)2Cr2(CO)3 (11 - 16). The spectra and an X-ray structure determination of the benzene derivative 11 verify a Cr2-unit with a formal triple bond bridged by three CO ligands. The asymmetric unit of 11 contains two halves of molecules with Cr — Cr distances of 222.6 and 221.6 pm.
    Notes: Bei der photochemischen Umsetzung von η6-ArCr(CO)3 (Ar = Benzol, Toluol, m-Xylol, Mesitylen, Benzoesäure-methylester und Fluorbenzol) mit Acetonitril in Hexan bzw. p-Tolunitril in THF entstehen Komplexe η6-ArCr(CO)2NCR (1-10). Lösungen der roten Acetonitrilkomplexe bilden in der Wärme oder bei UV-Bestrahlung unter Abspaltung des Nitril- und eines CO-Liganden in Gegenwart von Benzol die neuen schwarzen Komplexe (η6-Ar)2Cr2(CO)3 (11-16). Die Spektren und die Röntgenstrukturanalyse des Benzolderivats 11 belegen eine von drei CO-Liganden verbrückte, formal eine Dreifachbindung aufweisende Cr2-Einheit. Die asymmetrische Enheit von 11 enthält zwei Molekülhälften mit Cr — Cr-Abständen von 222.6 bzw. 221.6 pm.

The Reactivity of Pentakis(trifluorophosphine)iron(0) against Activated MonoolefinesThe reaction between Fe(PF3)5 and monoolefines with unsaturated substituents yields compounds of the type (π-olefine)Fe(PF3)4 (1-4). In the case of some α,β-unsaturated keto compounds the π-heterodiene complexes (π-heterodiene)Fe(PF3)3 (5-7) are obtained. The i. r. and 1H n.m.r. spectra and the fragmentation behaviour cf the substitution products in the mass spectrometer are discussed.
    Notes: Die Reaktion zwischen Fe(PF3)5 und Monoolefinen mit ungesättigten Substituenten führt zu Verbindungen des Typs (π-Olefin)Fe(PF3)4 (1-4) sowie im Falle einigerα,β-ungesättigter Ketoverbindungen zu den π-Heterodien-Komplexen (π-Heterodien)Fe(PF3)3 (5-7). Die IR-und 1H-NMR-Spektren sowie das Abbauverhalten im Massenspektrometer der Substitutionsprodukte werden diskutiert.

By alkylation of 1 and 2 with dimethyl sulfate the yellow stable carbene complexes (CO)4Fe=C-(OCH3)—C(R) = P(C6H5)3 (3: R = H, 4: R = CH3) are synthesized. The structure of the new compounds was established by analysis and spectra.

Nitrile Complexes of the Type (CO)5CrL, Synthesis and Reaction with MethylenetriphenylphosphoranePentacarbonyl(tetrahydrofuran)chromium(0) reacts with nitriles to yield the stable (CO)5CrNCR complexes 1 -12. Depending on the substituent R, their reactions with (C6H5)3P=CH2 lead to substitution of the nitrile ligand with formation of the known complex (CO)5C̄r-CH2=(C6H5)3 or to nucleophilic attack on the nitrile carbon to yield the new ketimine complexes (CO)5CrNH = CR=CH = P(C6H5)3 (14-21) which exist as cis and trans isomers. All complexes are characterized by their IR and NMR spectra. The reaction of the ketimine complex 14 (R = CH3) with HBF4 yields cis- and trans=[(C6H5)3P=CH = C(NH2)CH3]BF4 (22).
    Notes: Pentacarbonyl(tetrahydrofuran)chrom(0) reagiert mit Nitrilen zu den stabilen (CO)5CrNCR-Komplexen 1-12. Ihre Reaktion mit (C6H5)3P = CH2 führt in Abhängigkeit von dem Substituenten R entweder zu einer Verdrängung des Nitrilliganden unter Bildung von (CO)5C̄r-CH2=(C6H5)3 oder zu einem nucleophilen Angriff am Nitrilkohlenstoff unter Bildung der neu-artigen Ketiminkomplexe (CO)5CrNH = CR=CH = P(C6H5)3 (14-21), die jeweils als cis- und trans-Isomere auftreten. Alle Komplexe werden anhand ihrer Spektren sowie analytisch charakterisiert. Die Reaktion des Ketiminkomplexes 14 (R = CH3) mit HBF4 führt zu cis- und trans-[(C6H5)3P=CH = C(NH2)CH3]BF4 (22).

    Description / Table of Contents: Metaltrifluorophosphine Complexes, XXXIVπ-Cyclopentadienetris(trifluorophosphin)iron(0) and π-Cyclopentadienylbis(trifluorophosphine)iron HydrideUltraviolett irradiation of ether solutions of pentakis(trifluorophosphine)iron(0) and cyclopentadiene yields the yellow cristalline complex π-cyclopentadienetris(trifluorophosphine)-iron(0), π-C5H6Fe(PF3)3 (1). In the presence of weak bases it is converted into the orange and toxic liquid π-cyclopentadienylbis(trifluorophosphine)iron hydride, π-C5H5Fe(PF3)2H (2). The salt K[π-C5H5Fe(PF3)2] (3) is formed by treatment of the iron hydrido complex with potassium tert-butoxide.
    Notes: π-Cyclopentadien-tris(trifluorphosphin)-eisen(0), π-C5H6Fe(PF3)3 (1), entsteht bei der UV-Bestrahlung einer ätherischen Lösung von Pentakis(trifluorphosphin)-eisen(0) und Cyclopentadien in Form gelber Kristalle, die in Gegenwart schwacher Basen eine orangefarbene, erstickend riechende Flüssigkeit, das π-Cyclopentadienyl-bis(trifluorphosphin)-eisenhydrid, π-C5H5Fe(PF3)2H (2), liefern. Mit Kalium-tert.-butylat bildet der Hydridokomplex das Salz K[π-C5H5Fe(PF3)2] (3).
