Model Reactions for Enzymic Catalysis, IV. - Studies on the Relationship Between Structure and Activity of New Transaminators with Imidazole, Thiazole and Benzimidazole SkeletonsThe substituents in position 1 of 2-formylimidazoles 1 do not produce a noticeable effect on the equilibrium of transamination of alanine; they do, however, affect the initial velocities. Similar results were obtained in transamination of alanine-2-oxoglutarate with the trans-aminators 1. - The reaction mechanism recently postulated is confirmed by the finding that diverse isoelectronic structural analogues of thiazole and benzimidazole are also active transaminators.
Notes:
