Fluorescence lifetimes of SD(A 2Σ+,v'=0,N'=0–13) have been measured as a function of rotational energies. They decrease monotonously from 198 ±7 ns to 44 ±1 ns with increasing rotational energies by predissociation through tunneling mechanism. Nascent rotational distributions were measured for SD(X 2Π3/2,v‘=0,N‘) generated in photodissociation of D2S, and C2H5SD at 193 nm. For D2S and C2H5SD, the rotational temperatures of SD are 250 and 650 K, respectively. Combined with time-of-flight data, dynamics of photodissociation is discussed.
