The Structure and Rearrangement of Alkylated Nickel Corroles*)Alkylation of nickel corrole ambident anions with alkyl halides occurs at the N21-atom of ring A. Moderate heating of the resulting nickel 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18,21-nonaalkylcorroles 9-14 causes alkyl migration from N21 to C3 probably via C4 by a double [1,5]-sigmatropic shift. The use of bulky alkyl halides such as isobutyl iodide, or of allyl bromide, causes direct alkylation of the nickel corrole ambident anions at C3, together with some meso-substitution in the case of allyl bromide. Alkylation, like protonation, of nickel 2,3,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-nonaalkylcorroles occurs at C17.

Die Alkylierung ambidenter Nickel-corrol-Anionen mit Alkylhalogeniden erfolgt am N21-Atom des Rings A. Schwaches Erwärmen der erhaltenen Nickel-2.3.7.8.12.13.17.18.21-nonaalkyl-corrole 9-14 bewirkt eine Alkyl-Wanderung von N21 nach C3. Wahrscheinlich tritt eine doppelte [1,5]-sigmatrope Verschiebung über C4 ein. Sperrige Alkylhalogenide (z. B. Isobutyljodid) oder Allylbromid führen direkt zu C3-Alkyl-nickel-corrolen, im Falle des Allylbromids noch zu meso-substituierten Verbindungen. Sowohl Alkylierung als auch Protonierung von Nickel-2.3.3.7.8.12.13.17.18-nonaalkyl-corrolen finden an C17 statt.
