Summary The object of the investigation is the dependence of the skin impedance and its components, as well as the phase angle, on the frequency, measured by the method of Kinnen, using the Grützmacher bridge in the frequency range from 1 to 200 kHz. Here are shown some basic disadvantages of the method proposed by Kinnen, which can lead to considerable errors in the obtained results. This limits the scope of its applicability. It is stated that this method can be used mainly for measurements over 15–20 kHz and with larger electrode areas. It is proposed that the skin impedance and its components should be regarded not at a fixed frequency but in a suitable frequency range because more and preciser information is obtained in this way.
