    Notes: Abstract The chemical properties of beta zeolite are interconnected with its structure in a complicated way. In general terms, the strength of the acid sites in the beta phase depends strongly on its structure, topology and composition. The quantum chemical calculations of the beta zeolite cluster model have been carried out in order to predict how the cluster's local structure influences the geometric parameters and thus affects the chemical functionality of the beta zeolite. Computer simulations of a beta zeolite model with one lattice aluminium, or boron, or titanium or vanadium ions and of its acidic centres have been carried out. The acidity of the framework oxygen atoms in the vicinity of the lattice atom centre has been calculated and compared. The reactivity of catalytic species comprisingthe lattice ion and a hydroperoxo ligand has been studied as an oxidising site.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract При помощи температурно программидованной восстахов ленчя (ТПВ) исследовано восстановление NiII йонов в двух сериях никельморденитных катализаторов NiNaM и NiHM. ТПВ спектры показывают что никелевые йоны занимают места с разной координацией в мордените. Степень восстановления никеля сильно зависит от кислотности цеолита.
    Notes: Abstract Temperature programmed reduction (TPR) has been used to study the redox behavior of Ni(II) ions in nickel sodium mordenite (NiNaM) and decationated nickel mordenite (NiHM). The TPR profiles suggest that Ni(II) ions occupy nonequivalent sites with different cooridination states in the mordenite. The reducibility of Ni(II) depends strongly on the zeolite acidity.

    Notes: Abstract Different methods and vanadium compounds have been used to carry out proton exchange of zeolite HZSM-5 by vanadium cations. The catalysts are characterized by specific surface area, XRD, IR spectroscopy and TPD of ammonia. The catalysts’ activity in the oxidation of 1,3-pentadiene and the selectivity to carbonyl compounds are compared.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Исследовали каталитическую активность синтетических и природных никельзамещенных цеолитов с разным составом в реакции димеризации н-бутенов при высоком давлении в жидкой фазе. Обнаружена высокая селективность в образовании н-октенов и метилгептенов. Высказано предположение о влиянии канальной структуры морденитов на распределение продуктов.
    Notes: Abstract The catalytic activity of synthetic and natural nickel exchanged mordenites of different compositions has been investigated in dimerization of n-butenes at high pressure in the liquid phase. High selectivities to n-octenes and methylheptenes were found. It is suggested that the mordenite channel structure influences the product distribution.
