Notes:
The crystallization of selenium from the melt has been studied as a function of time at 90, 126, and 200°C by following the density and the concentration of Se8 rings. The crystallization is shown to involve crystallization of the polymeric species in the melt and, especially at later stages of the crystallization, crystallization during polymerization. A kinetic scheme has been developed which permits the description of the experimental data.
