Abstract The conditions of interaction of gas and liquid in woven contact devices were determined within wide limits of gas loads and the boundary of the existence of a self-similar region was established. A mathematical model was proposed for calculating the boundary of the self-similar valve mode for different types of woven contact devices (WCD) as a function of the physicochemical properties of the bubbling layer.
