    Notes: Abstract 1-Phenylamino-2-imidazolines3 and 1,2,5,6-tetrahydro-1,2,4-triazines4, 5 and6 are synthesized from N-(2-chloralkyl)-imidchlorides1 and phenylhydrazines. As intermediates are obtained the hydrochlorides of amidrazones2 which cyclise. The structure of the different heterocyclic systems are determined by1H- and13C-NMR-spectroscopy.

    Notes: Abstract The formation of complexes between crown ethers and acetonitrile, chloroform, and nitromethane were investigated in carbon tetrachloride at 25°C. A significant influence of the ring size on the selectivity of the host is evident. The host 18-crown-6 forms complexes for which the reaction enthalpy and entropy are quite high. Host molecules with benzene side groups form complexes of lower reaction enthalpy and entropy and therefore the complexes formed are less stable than that of the analogous crown ethers without aromatic groups. Solvent effects on the stability constant K, the reaction enthalpy ΔH, and the reaction entropy ΔS were studied for the complexation of malonitrile by 18-crown-6. The reaction enthalpy and entropy values change in accordance with the dielectric constant of the solvent used, but no overall effect on complex stability with change in solvent dielectric constant was observed.

    Description / Table of Contents: Complex-forming agents for copper being of interest as reagents in analytical chemistry and for liquid-liquid extraction were tested with regard to their effectiveness as copper deactivators in crosslinked low density polyethylene (XLDPE) by determining the induction period in the oxygen uptake of XLDPE/Cu/XLDPE-sandwiches at 165°C. Besides acylated hydrazines, a class of substances already known for efficient metal deactivation, several groups of chelating agents were investigated. Above all, the 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)imidazoles turned out to be efficient copper deactivators in XLDPE. Compared to them, the 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)oxazole, -thiazole and -oxadiazole with very similar chemical structure but without mobile hydrogen at the five-membered ring are ineffective.
    Notes: Komplexbildner für Kupfer, die als Nachweisreagenzien in der Analytik und als Reagenzien für die Flüssig-Flussig-Extraktion interessant sind, wurden als Kupferdesaktivatoren in vernetztem Polyethylen niedriger Dichte (XLDPE) durch Bestimmung der Induktionszeiten der Sauerstoffaufnahme von XLDPE/Cu/XLDPE-Sandwichproben bei 165 °C getestet. Neben acylierten Hydrazinen, einer für wirksame Metalldesaktivierung bereits bekannten Stoffklasse, wurden mehrere Gruppen von Chelatkomplexbildnern untersucht, wobei sich vor allem die 2-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)imidazole als wirksame Kupferdesaktivatoren in XLDPE erweisen. 2-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)oxazol, -thiazol und -oxadiazol, denen bei sehr ühnlicher chemischer Struktur der bewegliche Wasserstoff am Fünfring fehlt, sind dagegen unwirksam.

    Notes: Aus 2-Aza-fluorenen wurden durch Quaternierung und nachfolgende Behandlung mit Laugen tricyclische Isoazalene erhalten. Einige Vertreter dieser neuen Körperklasse sind in reinem kristallisiertem Zustand überraschend beständig. Die Absorptionsmaxima ihrer tieffarbigen, wenig haltbaren Lösungen sind substituentenabhängig. Aryle haben im N-haltigen Sechsring hypsochromen, im Fünfring bathochromen Einfluß. Die Thienogruppe wirkt im Vergleich zur Benzogruppe stark hypsochrom.

    Notes: Influence of Aryl-bonded Substituents on Complex Formation of Benzocrown Ethers with Alkali Metal Ions in Methanol and Acetone SolutionsThe influence of aryl-bonded substituents upon the complex formation of monobenzocrown ethers towards alkali metal ions in methanol and acetone solutions are investigated by using calorimetric and potentiometric titration. A different complexation behaviour of the ligands in acetone and methanol was found. In the case of the 1:1 complexation of Na+ a correlation between substiuent effects and stability constants in acetone was noticed, however, the influence of substituents upon complex stability is weak. In methanol solutions no similar correlation could be established. During sandwich complexation of K+ in methanol, no significant substituent influences on K1 and K2 were observed. On the other hand, a considerable increase of ΔH2 for both the electron accepting and electron releasing substituents was found, probably caused by changes in ligand-cation solvation due to the substituents.

    Notes: Reactions of Alkenes in the Presence of Tungsten- and Molybdenum-containing Ziegler-Natta-CatalystsIn connection with investigations of reactions of alkenes under the conditions of metathesis we studied the reactions of a mixture of 2-pentene/toluene in presence of the catalytic systems WCl6/EtAlCl2 and MoCl5/EtAlCl2 in homogeneous liquid phase.Alkylation of toluene, metathesis of 2-pentene and also indirect isomerisation of double bonds have been determined in dependence of the molar proportions of 2-pentene/MeClx, toluene/2-pentene, and MeClx/EtAlCl2, the addition order (“formation”) of reactants, the “building time” of catalytic system and the reaction time.Compositions of the reaction mixtures have been determined by GLC.

    Description / Table of Contents: About the Influence of Some Experimentally Parameters in the Homogeneous Catalyzed Metathesis of Pentene-(2) by WCl6-EtAlCl2The metathesis of a cis-trans-mixture of pentene-(2) was studied in presence of the catalytic active system WCl6-EtAlCl2, which was formed in situ. The influence of different solvents and the additiones of Lewis bases was examined. In a further study we established the dependence of the experimentally obtained results on various ratios of compounds in the reaction desposits. In some cases alkylation of aromatic solvents was observed under conditions of olefine metathesis. All reactions were carried out in homogeneous solution.
    Notes: Am Beispiel der Metathesereaktion eines cis-trans-Gemisches von Penten-(2) mit dem in situ aus Wolfram-(VI)-chlorid und Äthylaluminiumdichlorid (EtAlCl2) gebildeten und in homogener Flüssigphase vorliegenden Katalysatorsystems wurde der Einfluß verschiedener Lösungsmittel, des Zusatzes von Lewisbasen und verschiedener Molverhältnisse von Komponenten der Reaktionsansätze untersucht. In einigen Fällen wurde neben der Metathesereaktion eine Alkylierung aromatischer Lösungsmittel beobachtet.

    Notes: Durch kinetische Messungen in Verbindung mit Konkurrenzreaktionen konnte nachgewiesen werden, daß Bischlornitrosoverbindungen, die aus NOCl und Olefinen zugänglich sind, ebenso wie die entsprechenden α-Chloroxime mit nucleophilen Agenzien nach einem Eliminierungs-Additions-Mechanismus reagieren. Die als Zwischenprodukte auftretenden Nitrosoolefine konnten UV-spektroskopisch nachgewiesen werden. Dimere Nitrosoolefine wurden als definierte Verbindungen aus den NOCl-Addukten einiger Aryläthylene gewonnen.
