Die emulgatorfreie Emulsionspolymerisation von Methylmethacrylat bei Initiierung mit Natriumbisulfit wurde in Abwesenheit und in Gegenwart von Carborundum untersucht. Es wurde festgestellt, daß das Carborundum einen katalytischen Einfluß auf die Polymerisationsreaktion ausübt. Das Viskositätsmittel der Molekülmassen wurde bestimmt. Die in Gegenwart von Carborundum erhaltenen Polymere weisen eine breitere Molekülmassenverteilung auf.

The emulsifier free emulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate was studied using sodium bisulfite as initiator in absence and in presence of carborundum. It was found that the carborundum has a catalytic effect on the polymerization reaction. The viscosity average molecular masses were determined. The polymers obtained in presence of carborundum have a broader molecular mass distribution.
